It is certainly true. Like you were saying on the show, it defies logic that in a country that is so firmly against the Bush admin’s policies (19% approval in one poll) John McCain is actually leading in most of the polls over Hillary AND Obama.
I like Hillary Clinton, but I really think that she needs to bow out at this point for the good of the party. The only way that she can win is if the superdelegates override the will of the voters: it’s next to impossible for her to catch up in the popular vote and pledged delegates. Regardless of her concerns about Barack’s experience, her hanging around and both of them beating up on each other is hurting the image of the party and decreases the likelihood of a Democrat being elected president.

I don’t know that the contest itself would have, but I can tell you that I absolutely loathe a lot of the people associated with her campaign that keep coming up with the states that do and don’t count, and all the comments that make it look like rules don’t matter. Once this is all over, I’d like to see someone take Mark Penn around the back of the barn and beat some sense into him.

It better not. I find it hard to believe that voters for either side…Obama or Clinton…would turn against the party and vote for 4 more years of Bush policy because their man/woman didn’t win the nomination. If they are that stupid, then they deserve McCain. I like Hillary, but will proudly support Obama if he wins. ANYONE is better than another republican in the white house.

I think this negativism and the infighting between the Clinton supporters and the Obama supporters is going to destroy the Democratic Party….and Alan, you keep saying that this hatred for Hillary is awful…..she doesn’t make it very easy for people to like her all that much….and the worst thing she could have done is want to run for president…because her negatives and the reason why they are so high comes to light..rather quickly…she is not trustworthy….she is divisive…and I have often defended Hillary on the Whitewater issue….but I draw the line at staying with a spouse after you have been humiliated by him/her…so her reference about “you can’t choose your family, but you can choose your church”…..is not exactly true….you can also pick your spouse…and whether or not you want to stay with that person. I find it both baffling and stunning that Hillary finds the need to embellish her resume, like she did about her trip to Bosnia……and Bill as well….with his terse…”It depends on the meaning of what “Is”, is”……I don’t know what it is with them~! I think Hillary just can’t handle the fact that she is no longer the inevitable candidate who won’t be coronated at the Convention in Denver. This isn’t about Hillary anymore….and the country won’t fall apart if Hillary bows out after PA.
