No, really, what happened to Joe? Or as Crooks and Liars refers to him, “Zelliebermnan“. When he was fighting for his political life against Ned Lamont, he pledged to fight for a Democratic Congress and for a Democrat to be elected in 2008.

But now he is supporting a candidate who is for Bush’s tax cuts, which Lieberman opposed, for Alito, who Lieberman opposed, and for privatizing Social Security, which Lieberman opposed. When Joe claimed that McCain was for “Social Security Plus”, a combination of the current system and private accounts, George Stephanopoulos pointed out that McCain changed his position. Lieberman immediately agreed this was so, and quickly changed the subject.
