Johns Hopkins Data Base Set Up To Ignore The Word “Abortion”
Federal officials didn’t like that two articles about abortion advocacy appeared in a database of 360,000 articles and records on family planning and reproductive health. The Agency for International Development provides money for the database, known as Popline and so, worried about having funding yanked by an anti-choice administration, employees had the computers ignore the word “abortion” as a search term. Dean Michael J. Klag says he couldn’t disagree more, so he had the word restored. After all, it’s only the world’s largest data base on reproductive health.
