So, it is okay to over-generalize and lump people together. So it is okay for me to say “Nigger” just as B.O. says “whites” are bigotted because they work for a living, unlike him. Does it mean I can called B.O. “Senator Buckwheat” married to “Aunt Jemima”. Well let’s get it on!!!!!!!!!
Why is it so hard for many Americans to deal with an assessments of their own life that is not uplifting or very positive? Why is it so hard for a lot of people to finally hear a politician trying to address some reality in this country? Tries to put some real problems into words so that they can be discussed.
It seems that in the past years where politicians have been only praising how good things are going, always trying to find a positive thing to say about the war in Irag or the economy or health care.
Why can’t the american citizen see the horrific images of the war, why can’t the administration admit we were in a civil war in Iraq, why can’t they admit we are in a recession, why can’t they admit the low dollar is hurting the economy, admitting the health care costs are ridiculously high? Why do we only need to hear the rosy story that things are not so bad and if they are it will be better soon?
Hillary Clinton’s response to Obama’s “Bitter” statement was a very typical example of this rosy story telling. She was not meeting people that were bitter she was meeting people that were optimistic, and fighting for a better life etc… That is the story many politicians want to tell because that does good in the polls, and for a large part this is also true. However this is only the rosy side of the story of people in need of optimism and need to fight.
Hilary is, as many politicians before her, not explaining or trying to address the issues behind the need for optimism and fight, that Obama is trying to put in words.
I sure hope this man makes the democrat nominee, the debates would be worth watching.
Fair and Balanced you say? If and only if one is using right wing and/or conservative metrics to justify that claim. With regards to Hannity, I really have to tip my hat to Alan for tolerating him, cause I couldn’t do it.
As I much as I hate say it, Louie is absolutely right. Alan is brave for working at Fox and an excellent commentator and very articulate. Yet, with the way that Hannity monopolizes H&C, we only get to see Alan at his best on the blog and on the radio.
Why is it that Hannity always gets a plug for Hannity’s America and the end of every broadcast, but we never hear anything about Alan’s radio show or this blog? In fact, why is it that Hannity gets his own show on Fox TV but Alan does not? This is in no way bashing Alan for not being liberal enough or anything like that: this is bashing FOX for allowing people like Hannity and Bill O’Reilly to monopolize their network. They can cry “Fair and Balanced” all they want, but as long as they continue to drown out liberal voices, or in this case, FACTS that are inconvenient for conservatives, nobody except the Heritage Foundation is going to take their political coverage seriously.

Obama’s use of the phrase “out of touch” was rather musical. I’d like him to cover the Hall & Oats song of the same name.

Where is O’bama wrong Alan? I think he was “spot on” I guess some people are in denial about some of
the realities that exist across the “fruited plane”.

My comment was, why wasn’t Barack Obama’s response allowed on H&C?
Sure, H&C covered the 1 sound-bite of the statement, and yet on Alan Colmes blog, there is Obama’s response to the statement, yet it wasn’t said on H&C
Just another example on how Sean Hannity and the rightwing control the agenda on Hannity & Colmes
are you surprised? i ain’t!

Alan,
Barack Obama is the only candidate talking to me like an adult.
Hillary says “Oh you’re great! I see greatness here and everything is going to be great! -if you vote for me.”
Mcain says “….” Well who really cares what Mcain says it’s obviously full of crap. (And it’ll change in a week or so anyway.)
And Obama catches alot of negative press because he addresses alot of truths on racism, discontent, and frustration with American issues that quite frankly shouldn’t be concerns in the richest democracy in the world.
If you want a cadidate who will say anything to win -vote Hillary.
If you want a candidate who could possibly be Bush in Mcain costume -vote John.
If you want a candidate who doesn’t live in a constant delusion…vote for me
But if you understand how conservative media is desperately trying to destroy the best political candidate since Robert Kennedy..vote Barack man.

Just what was Obama trying to say? That you get bitter and cling to guns and bigotry? People aren’t bigots because they don’t have a job.
