On Monday’s Radio Show…
• The “bitter” backlash. Is Barack Obama out of touch with middle-class Americans? Or was he just speaking a truth that few are willing to acknowledge?
• Alan sits down with popular Salon.com blogger Glenn Greenwald, author of Great American Hypocrites: Toppling the Big Myths of Republican Politics.

Barack In my opinion was speaking his mind, its too bad these boo birds have to cut barack down. They must like the empty factories/warehouses in their neighborhoods. I would not have apologised for anything Let the truth be known.

John McCain graduated near the bottom of his Naval Academy class and dumped his first wife to marry into a rich family.
Why aren’t we “bitter” about that?
Hillary “NAFTA” Clinton was on the WalMart board of directors.
Why aren’t we “bitter” about that?

I think if Barack had said “angry” rather than “bitter” his comments would have been much better received, because a lot of people seem to relish describing themselves as angry and fed up and mad as hell and just waiting for some excuse to punch somebody right in the mouth, but bitter sounds kind of wimpy and weak and helpless as a sissy, and if you had any choice you’d much rather gnash your teeth and load up your guns than sit on the front porch crying and whining.

Obama called most PAans racist yahoos (see “antipathy to people who aren’t like them”).
The two “anti-” parts haven’t been explored by the MSM because they’re on Obama’s side. Why both are misleading is described at my name’s link.

In the context of economic difficutly, (losing your job, struggling to pay mortgage/rent, failing to support family)antipathy to people who are different isn’t the ugly bigotry “anti-Obamists” seem so ready to adopt.
Millions of these rural-class men have no real hatred of hispanics, but feel they are losing jobs because of immagration. It’s a valid concern. It can breed resentment..it usually does breed bitterness.
The truth is the lost jobs are much more a result of terrible trade policies and bad politics. Illegal immigration may be a significant problem but the economic science seems to show it’s like complaining about your stubbed toe…when you got cancer.
When these deep problems exist and have existed in these communities for the past 20 years, they have a negative impact on families and communities who become fervent supporters of what they can control. (Since the government has taken away so much already -if you believe government should have done more to keep jobs there)
What these rural citizens turn out for in the largest population numbers is NRA related gatherings, 2nd amendment rally’s/speeches and of course there’s hunting.
Economic difficulty strengthen’s our need to cling to God. As does any difficulty really.
None of this excludes faith for faith’s sake, or guns for guns sake. There was no exclusion implicit in Barack’s statement. It was a common sense statement, easy to decipher.
The press has told alot of people how to think. They say “Look! Barack Obama is looking down on you! What an insult!” And people who never had a response to the statement now feel very strongly about it.
Do you honestly believe Barack didn’t say the statement to show how he wants to help? Isn’t it a much simpler and likely explanation that he wants to bring jobs back to rural America. Isn’t he saying Republicans are too big business, and past democrats too NAFTA?
Isn’t it reasonable to assume that Barack’s entire life of service is a better barometer of character than the frame of reference you’ve been told to believe by his opponents?
Do you even care about the truth of it? Or is there even more agenda at work here?

Oh Alan, loved tonight’s show, you’ve been doing some really good ones lately. :)
Glen was a good guest and I was about to call, but I got caught up in the discussion and preferred to listen.
To superimpose my thoughts on one of your questions, I don’t think democrats can play dirty pool like the republicans though I think the Clintons are pretty brilliant at it.
I think the republicans use their “faith, honor, and righteous moral compass” *ahem* to support the ugliness they freely spew out so easily. (my apologies to all those honorable, good, wonderful conservatives of the world..both of you.)
I’m looking forward to reading the book tomorrow.

Barack Obama is the one who is bitter to me he threw his white grandmother under the Bus. Then came his racist pastor along with people of faith and those who support the second amendment and middle America. What class of people will Barack Obama offend next and show his elitest liberal attitude. Not to worry though because Alan Colmes and the Liberal MSM will ignore it or explain it away.
BTW – Alan did you see the latest socialist remarks from Michelle Obama? She thinks most americans don’t want much and those that are successful should give others their piece of the pie.
Noel, you really that naive to believe the stuff that you write ????

After 8 years of Bush and Co., show me someone who isn’t bitter or pissed.
You wouldn’t believe what I saw on the BlackAgendareport.com today.

Tear down the ghetto and the homes of struggling familes to save Wall Street? There’s a big reason for PA residents to be bitter right there.

Prove me wrong Alan, prove me wrong. :P

Not everyone is bitter. Some of us don’t need others for our security. In fact, have done quite well whomever is President. Doesn’t matter to me if you all elect some “racist” piece of shit who is conflicted over his parentage. If you all “white folk” love your “Black Emperor” so much, go live in the ghetto. And take your kids for the expierence. You will quickly realize this ain’t anger or bitterness. It’s racism! Blacks are just as capable of racism. You “white liberals” need to get out of your suburban homes and move downtown. Your gonna love it! Wake up “Dumb Asses” RACE MATTERS!!!!!
