Twitt Earth

It’s fascinating to watch as users around the globe speak in real time. In fact I’m thinking of adding twitter to this page once it’s fully integrated with alan.com, to give it an ongoing interactive feel.

  1. Alan you should totally expand this page! Add blog capabilities, personal pages, pictures and music the whole 10 yards!

Liberal Land needs to hit the big time!

  2. I looked at Twiiter once, not sure why I decided not to bother. I know why I decided to not go for Multiply, terrible e-mail privacy, as in, only friends you want to have your e-mail, because you can’t hide it.

  3. Sorry. I meant that if you don’t want some people to have your e-mail, don’t invite them, or get another e-mail account.

  4. I don’t know enough about Twitter.

But Alan, I think that one really cool way to enhance the blog would be to allow users to post a reply specifically to a particular comment. I like that idea b/c then when one person posts a comment that the others would like to continue discussing, it’s easier to follow the discussion.

Just an idea. But I’m pretty satisfied with the blog. I like that I don’t have to sign in/log in to read and post.

You should consider whether or not a newsletter fits with the style and presentation of your show. (Presentation meaning that the listeners get to help decide the topics of discussion.) If you did one, I think that it should go out BEFORE the show, and before H&C comes on too.

  5. I would like to be addressed as Mr. Adorable, if Wheelies For Gutfeld isn’t to everyone’s taste.

  6. I did join, but I’m not really inclined to update on nothing, and am fairly private. I might fool around with it. What would be great is if it was called Third Earth. I’d, of course, use a Lion-O character avatar, if possible. I am a Leo.

  7. Alan, I agree with some of the earlier posters…you need to hit the big time. Hire a blog designer and make your blog really cook. It’s awesome as is, but I think it could be even better. I know that’d be an undertaking but in the end it’d be awesome. Forums, threaded conversations, etc. It’d be THE place for what I’d call pragmatic, rational liberalism on the web.

  8. Flap~ not just “rational liberalism”, but rational political discussion in general. That’s why I love Alan’s show. Everyone’s welcome to express their opinions. I can’t remember which Federalist Paper it is, but one of the papers by one of the guys (lol, “the guys) was basically arguing that our nation will achieve progress through debate… sifting through the arguments, determining what will and will not work together.

  9. I hope they let us choose avatars soon. also, no one replies to my drivel on twittearth

  10. Am i the only one who doesn’t know what Twitter is?

I created and run this blog:

    http://www.MySpace.com/DemocraticParty

and i have never looked into Twitter for my blog, but maybe i will in the future…

    naw, i doubt it..

  11. I first heard of “Twitter” yesterday, heh.

Just judging by the name I’m guessing it’s full of people chirping and giggling.

  12. Cheryl, I agree to an extent. Alan is not some sort of extremist, he’s moderate-left. (Self-identified I think.) I can’t say I agree with him on much, but yes, he is usually pretty rational, fair, and intellectually honest. If I was a liberal I would probably want to be like Alan.

Alan…considering your audience you need to sell that on a t-shirt: “If I was a liberal I would want to be like Alan Colmes.”

  13. Flap, that’s a funny, brilliant idea! He should totally do that.

I’m not really a liberal, but I’d rather all myself a conservative Democrat than a liberal Republican. I’d just rather listen to Alan’s show than the fat and arrogant self-proclaimed god Rush Limbaugh. Hannity’s okay, but I get tired of hearing about how great all the American callers to his show are. He tends to be as close-minded as all his other con buddies. The only con show I like is Glenn Beck, but even Glenn’s been disappointing me lately. I just get more from Alan’s show.
