RUSH: “Riots… that’s the objective here.”
As John Amato at Crooks and Liars documented, Rush Limbaugh is calling for violence in the streets at the Democratic National Convention:
“The dream end of this is that this keeps up to the convention and we have a replay of Chicago 1968 with burning cars, protests, fires, literal riots, and all of that. That’s that’s the objective here.”
C&L has the troubling audio.

Who cares what that pill popping hypocrite wants? He’s just another blowhard like Randi Rhodes or Bill Orally (to name but a few).
Malloy rocks…but Alan is alright too!

Alan
From what I heard from Jeremiah Wright’s sermon, there is absolutely nothing he said that I disagree with. If I had a pastor like that, I’d even consider turning religous again. Love your show

Just wanted to compliment you, Alan, for your defense of Rev Wright and bringing up that the offensive words in the so called 9/11 sermon were in fact an Ambassador Peck quote. I am certain that the inuendo and guilt by association attacks will be a regular practice of the Republican political machine, at least until it backfires on them, like it did to Hillary.

I feel sorry for the last lady. It would have helped her case to understand primary sourcing, or to give the subject she used in her e-mail, that way Alan could find the letter easier, should he decide to.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:28 am
Imagine that? Rush as a public advisor..LOL now thats funny!!!!
April 25th, 2008 at 1:01 am
Wheelies, I kind of felt bad for her as well. But I think she was resistant to provide the source for her info b/c she kind of knew that it was controversial. He had to ask her several times what her source was before she gave it up.
Rush Limbaugh gets on my nerves, and I have a hard time understanding why he’s so popular. He’s arrogant as hell. And fat. When he speaks, I can hear the fat surrounding his larynx, and the desperately trying to push against the fat to burst forth from his lips and inflame the air around him.
Operation Chaos, and this last thing, are going to backfire on him… I’m praying that he’ll be off the air soon. I’m so serious, too. He’s way too arrogant.
Here’s a link to something funny Wheelie wrote about Rush:

At times like this I ask myself, “What Would Hillary Do?”
I imagine if Obama were in her shoes, she’d say “Why are you here Obama? You’ve lost, there’s no way to win, you are killing us!”
But lately I’ve been doing what Rush does, I eat and eat and miss all the pills I used to take -for the pain. The never ending pain…
April 25th, 2008 at 1:15 am
Dreaming of riots?
Just another Christian conservative family values kind of guy revealing his putrid inner core of hatred and bile. Syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks, a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications. The same people who syndicate Coast to Coast AM. And I guess that says something.
April 25th, 2008 at 2:14 am
Somehow “Operation Chaos” doesn’t strike me as what will finally put the last nail in Limbaugh’s coffin; it’s just just too stupid even for him. But I’ve been listening to the windbag for a long time on and off and I say that we are witnessing the long and slow process of Rush destroying his own career by means pf simply becoming out of touch with the new blood Republicans.
The lard ball will just be replaced by Hannity when he finally gets off the mic but that’s life.
One question Alan, you get this a lot, how do you not slap Sean right in the mouth? It amazes me every time.
April 25th, 2008 at 2:46 am
Alan gets an extra zero added to his paycheck every time Sean says something stupid.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:07 am
Crooks and Liars isn’t that a website run by left wing loons who distort the truth? Crooks and Liars are liberals everyone know that Alan.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:23 am
If Rush was being serious that he wants to see riots, arrests, headbashing and all the rest, that’s deplorable and conservatives should be the first to disavow that sort of talk. I suspect he was speaking figuratively – it would be great for John McCain and Republican candidates if there were that level of discord at the Democratic convention without the outbreak of violence.
April 25th, 2008 at 7:44 am
Eric~ lol. But I think that Alan approaches political debate from a civilized mind-set that reminds him to keep his hands to himself.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:20 am
Maybe, last month, I would have said Rush was onto something.
A lot of pundits in the black community have said that if Hillary steals the nomination from Obama on the conference floor, then there would be demonstrations and maybe riots if a demonstration goes wrong.
but since Hillary only won by 8.5% not 10% in PA, there no way she can win anymore. The supes are joining Obama faster than they are joining her. So flab-ass won’t get his much desired ethnic cleansing.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
So could Limbaugh get into trouble for inciting a riot?
April 25th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
at the risk of being pummelled with rotten tomatoes, i am a ditto head. and though i think that this was most likely satire and part of rush’s schtick, i don’t condone anyone even remotely taking it seriously and acting on it. one of the things that makes our country amazing is the the party system and that we transfer our power between the parties peacefully without riots, bloodshed, takeovers, etc.
blessings.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
but zoey… not to pummel you with rotten tomatoes, ;) ,but isn’t that really awful to say these things? I mean, it’s one thing to disagree with ideas, but it’s a whole other thing to wish violence or harm on anyone, even in jest.
perhaps we should start calling rush a “shock jock”. Or is that unfair to Howard Stern?
April 25th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Oh boy! This coming from a guy who couldn’t serve in Viet Nam because he had a cyst on his ass. Isn’t it ironic that all he currently does all day is sit on his fat ass!
April 25th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
hi there sky. of course they are crummy comments most likely you and i would never ever say anything like this. but as i listen to him this am (even as i post this) he is saying it is the very far left (similarly to ‘68) calling for blood in the streets and that he is reporting what the whackadoodles on the left want to do.
and thanks for that velvet tomato :)
April 25th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
um that ‘68) should have said ‘68. hehehe
April 25th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Annie, LMAO. So true, so true…
Zoey~ you’re not a true ditto head b/c if you were you wouldn’t listen to Alan’s show. Ditto heads prefer not to hear other points of view. No one from the right does (well, except O’Reilly and sometimes Glenn Beck). I was listening to Hannity while working my garden… Hannity says that Dems refuse to be open-minded. About 20 minutes later some guy calls in with a wonderfully valid argument about the Wright issue, that the conservative media is playing clips from two (I think just ONE) of his sermons and using those clips to judge who Wright and Obama “really are”. Hannity hung up on him. The guy wasn’t yelling, rude, or anything that would justify a talk show host getting rid of a call. Furthermore, Hannity kept interrupting him to voice HIS opinion of the matter over the caller. WTF? I don’t care that it’s his show, if he wants to only give his opinion then he shouldn’t take phone calls.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
It’s virtually impossible to listen to Hannity and the like. Alan’s self deprecation is part of his charm. He’s willing to admit imperfections, conservative types often aren’t, other than people like Gutfeld.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
hi cheryl! :)
i am aware that rush can be a blowhard and all of that and it use to really bother me — i would listen to him for about 20 mins then have to turn him off (kind of like i do oreilly now!) but during the 04 campaign i began listening more often and got past that blowhard part to see that most of all that crap is his showmanship. i do like true conservative values and i have learned alot from him. now sean hannity well his head has gotten to big over the past few years — he likes to do all the talking and gives far to little time to his callers. thanks for not pelting me ;D
April 25th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
oh and i listen to alan because i like him not because i agree with him. i rarely if ever do. alan is an honest, thoughtful, thinking liberal who rarely if ever throws red meat. and he’s funny.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:51 pm

New York City is now the no.1 city with the lowest crime rates in cities with a population over 100,000.
Our crime rates are now down to what they were in 1963.
Thank you Rudy and Mike and thank you Bill Clinton.
