Why The Democratic Congress Has Lower Ratings Than Bush
Because they won’t stand up to him. They’ve given up.
House Democratic leaders are putting together the largest Iraq war spending bill yet, a measure that is expected to fund the war through the end of the Bush presidency and for nearly six months into the next president’s term.

Is there really any difference between Democrats and Republicans? Are they both just corporate puppets? The Democrats are so pathetic that their ratings are LOWER than the worst president ever who is engaged in an extremely unpopular war. Pelosi and Conyers are cowards. The Green Party is looking awfully good to me.

And what would you have them do? Starve soldiers? Deny armor? Withold security?
The war is on, democrats have been vetoed, stone walled, and fillibustered all the way to Iraq. Every bill that would get our boys (and girls) home sooner have been rejected with a big red republican stamp.
Give em the money, wait till Obama gets in. And chill out.

Is there any way for us to know how much money is being allocated for the different facets of the war (i.e. how much for weapons, how much for the Iraqi people)?

None of it is going to me, I know that much.

It is not possible for congress to cut or deny funding now…the Gov’t knows this.
One of 2 things would happen:
1) Iraq falls into further chaos ….GOP says “told you so” and wins in ‘08
2) Iraq improves …. GOP says “told you the war worked” and wins in ‘08

No it’s because in two years they have destroyed this country. Gas Prices have doubled and food prices have gone through the roof because we have to use corn for bio-fuel. These bums need to go along with raised taxes and social programs because they are destroyong thos country.

No, the country understands, at a gut level, that Progressivism has done a lot of good for minorities and women, but there is much bathwater with the baby.
Excessively concentrated power within DC is false, false, false.

I’d respect them more if they would, but they won’t. Also, I think the approval rating could very terribly, or drop even more, if possible. And that will make assumptions about mandates unstable.

Bad Mr Frosty~ interesting username. Anyway, I think that you make a pretty good point. The cons will always spin the facts to work in their favor.
Noel~ I know that money ain’t goin’ to me either, brother. I’m not in the military, but my son’s dad is and I receive child support from him. ;-)

Who says they have a lower rating??? If you ask the question just a wee bit diff. you get congress at 38%. Most people don’t approve of congress as a whole (that’s both Dem. and Rep. ) but if asked if the they think the Dem. lead congress is better…well you get my point.

When congress cut off funding for the VietNam war, Nixon felt he had no choice but to bring the troops home. I truly believe Bush would keep our soldiers in Iraq without food, water, protection, etc., just so he can blame the democrats (”See? It’s the democrats fault because they cut off funding. See? See?”).

Damn what did people think?
That you’d put 50 or so more dems in office and suddenly the country’s woes would be delivered into resolution like a 30 minute pizza?
The order’s in guys, lets spend some time cooking the menu, after we hire a new chef, and wemprobably need to remodel resturaunt some more, and then we can enjoy that food when it gets here.
You get what you pay for.
(Hooah! I really wanted to tie in that whole fast food metaphor in there.)

The black agenda in action

Alicia~ what the hell is “the black agenda”? This is the 2nd time I’ve seen this from you. Care to explain? B/c I’m black, and it sounds like there’s some kind of agenda I need to be adding to my date book.
