King At Last

As the media and the general public continue to demonize and revile the reverend Jeremiah Wright for saying things that are “outrageous” and “incendiary”, lest we forget some of the statements of the revered (that’s “reverend” without the “n”) Martin Luther King, Jr.
“I knew that I could never again raise my voice against the violence of the oppressed in the ghettos without having first spoken clearly to the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today – my own government.” (”Beyond Vietnam”, April 4, 1967)
And did he hate the military?
“They watch as we poison their water, as we kill a million acres of their crops. They must weep as the bulldozers roar through their areas preparing to destroy the precious trees. They wander into the towns and see thousands of thousands of the children, homeless, without clothes, running in packs on the streets like animals. They see the children degraded by our soldiers as they beg for food.” (April 30, 1967)
“We’ve committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I’m going to continue to say it. And we won’t stop it because of our pride and our arrogance as a nation.”
“God didn’t call America to engage in a senseless, unjust war as the war in Vietnam. And we are criminals in that war. We’ve committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I’m going to continue to say it. And we won’t stop it because of our pride and our arrogance as a nation.” (”The Drum Major Instinct”, February 4, 1968)
“A nation that put as many Japanese in a concentration camp as they did in the ‘40’s…will put black people in a concentration camp.” (Mongomery, Alabama, 1968)
“America is going to Hell, if we don’t use her wealth, If America does not use her vast resources of wealth to…make it possible for all of God’s children to have the basic necessities of life, she, too will go to Hell.” (March 18, 1968)
Today’s prophet is yesterday’s demon. As Luke 11:47 says, “You build tombs for the very prophets your ancestors killed long ago.”

Is the last quote from a speech that was to come, or is the date given for it an error?

This is the type of stuff Rev. Wright had right. Our government HAS done MANY horrible things in our history. Many will try to write that off saying that we don’t do anything wrong now, but I think the point is that the government CAN do things wrong and ARE doing things wrong.
Just look at our current do-nothing climate change policies and this war with Iraq. It doesn’t make somebody unpatriotic to point out that this is a nation run by human beings, and human beings are, by their very nature, flawed. In fact, in a country that was founded on the principle of dissent, it’s outrageous to say that we should just blindly support our government, no matter what sort of crazy stuff it does.

What is appalling most about the philanderer Dr? King is that he sacrificed to violence so many of his followers during the “marches” riots of the civilrights era. I say this because the “reverend” was always up front leading the “parade” in full view of television cameras and photographers for the major newspapers, from this position he was guaranteed front page exposure knowing that the law enforement of that era would concentrate their actions on those in the back who were nameless. Fire hoses, dogs, batons, teargas, and axe handles were routinely deployed to unfortunate souls who had no idea that the “reverend” King was immune from such violence. He was a coward, and a liar, while espousing to the black community personal responsibilty he was off rutting on one of his bitches, I just wonder how many offspring he has truly produced. He seems to the poster child for the outrageous out-of-wedlock (78%) birthrate of his race. All this from a supposed “man of God”.
April 30th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
suntan. On the last thread on this page you referred to “chickens coming home to roast” and asked if they were “fried chickens”.
We get it suntan. You don’t like black people.
“Dr? King”. Yes suntan Martin Luther King had a doctorate.
And there was never any violence associated with Dr. King’s marches.
But don’t let facts get in the way of your “problem”.
April 30th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
I actually have no negative feelings about as you refer to “black people”. What I do have is a dislike for those apologists who blame “whitey” for the ills of their race. I cannot tell you how many applicants who appear at the transportation comany I run who are unable to even fill out a job application past the point of their name. Not to mention that they are almost always accompanied by their partners male or female who try to assist them only to make things worse. It is no surprise that the men of african american descent who are predominately from the caribean in my shop despise the uneducated, shiftless, lazy members of their race and refuse to associate with them. You have no idea of what the real world is like. Having to hire 20 cleaners to service a new line that we took over I was beset with thievery beyond description. In one case a african american cleaner was caught with a hammer he stole from a mechanics toolbox smashing a farebox to retreive a single dollar bill a rider had shoved inside. This action cost the company more than $100.00 in parts and labor along with the fact once caught in the act refused to be fired and assaulted the supervisor. This along with the fact that once paid on friday we don’t see the employess of this ilk until their pockets are empty on tuesday, which when the appear are suprised that their time cards have been pulled and are terminated, again more assaults. This along with an african american employee, a cleaner who when ever his “girlfriend” appeared we be missing a complete farebox vault. This certain darkie had used his limited education to keep track of the farebox counts displayed on a counter on the outside of the register and left the note with the numbers on the table in the lunch room. We lost a farebox that night and putting two and two together along with our sighting of his “bitch” checked the applications to see whose handwriting matched, lo and behold it was the aforementioned criminal. Not wanting to pay this thief unemployment we reassigned him frim fueling buses and instructed him to mop. He didn’t want to and as we have no union he really had no choice. What did he do? as usual assault his supervisors, which resulted in the police being called and his subsequent arrest along with additional charges for being in possesion of a firearm and surprise a pocketful of crack. Alone this “employee” had cost us close to $6,000.00 as every fare box that he stole was one of our most profitable. We were unable to recover our losses, how do you get blood out of a stone (rock of crack). His “girlfriend” he admitted was using their “child” as a ruse to sneak onto the property and abcond with the stolen fare boxes. Out of the 20 initialially hired only 5 remain. That’s pretty horrible statistics. Not to mention 5 new mechanics whose work had to be repeatedly checked because of serious mistakes which would have led to accidents on the highways and passenger deaths due to their crack use, thankfully we caught them with drug tests but only after $3,000.00 worth of shop tools were stolen when only they were present in the shop. Again an african american who had twins with his “girlfriend” who lived in the projects, he knocked her up again, with twins, and also inpregnated his other “bitch” (his words) with twins also, always claiming when missing work that he had sickle cell. This along with his uncle and fellow mechanic knocking up his nephews mother who also lived in the projects and had already been having his pay garnished for his 4 kids by three other “women”. I usedto enjoy betting with other workers both black and white as to whether these two would show for their appointed shifts, then taking a phone call which we’d put over the intercom where they’d be telling us that Johnny’s sickle cell was acting up and neither would be in that night. We could clearly here beers being ordered and balls breaking on the pool table from the bae they were in. I doubt you’d want to ride on a bus serviced by these two. And if Johnny did have sickle cell he had no morals having so many potentially sick and ailing wards of the state. I resent having my tax dollars going to support those as I’ve just described and if you’re so proud of them maybe you have them stand along side the Rev? Wrong and Barack HUSSEIN Obama to show the electorate the cream of the crop of the black race. Suck ass you lily white. bleeding heart liberal whose head is buried in the sand. My only hope is that someday the pride of Newark NJ intercepts you as you mistakenly exit the NJ Turnpike and introduces you to the real black america.
April 30th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Now lets talk about the african american mechanic who believed in Dr? King and that Al (racist and buffon) Sharpton was telling the truth about Tawana Brawley of crawling in the garbage smeared with feces fame. This “darkie” was caught when he was stealing bus three tires that were already mounted on rims, $1,500.00 worth. Two were hanging out his trunck of the Olds Delta 88 he drove and was he loaded on the roof. We caught him after he bottomed out on a speed bump in out auxilary driveway that was seldom used. He ruptured his fuel tank and was trying, while smoking a cigarette to rock his car over the obstacle. When police were called his explanation was that someome said “he could have this stuff” yeah right, he left as usual in handcuffs. Oh, by the way when searched at police HQ guesswhat? he had crack in his pocket. The neccessary accessory for every well dressed black man. Just another example of Rev’s? King and Sharptons
admirers. I not afraid to call a spade a spade are you
April 30th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
“…despise the uneducated, shiftless, lazy members of their race…”
“This certain darkie had used his limited education to keep track of the farebox counts displayed on a counter on the outside of the register and left the note with the numbers on the table in the lunch room.”
by suntan April 30, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. Yes I get it too suntan. You don’t like black people. :D
April 30th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
Hey anon. are you an AA lover if so why don’t you vacation in Newark NJ next year, then if you survive come back and if your not on life support from gunshot wounds I might just be interested in what you have to say. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 30th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
The cartoon Boondocks is a true representation of the black community as is the Rap music culture. Gotsta gets mines as they say. How sorry I feel for Condelezza Rice and Colin Powell for being of such a small minority that has taken full advantage of the legal opportunities that America provides, although as such to most blacks their “Uncle Toms”
April 30th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Suntan’s response to Cheryl in the “Jeremiah Wright at the National Press Club” thread, bottom of the page:
“Cheryl Carroll Heres hoping you rot from inside out from cunt cancer you leftist, liberal, Chavez loving”
by suntan April 30, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Ah! Another fine example of a Civil Upstanding Fair and Balanced Great American Patriot! Probably God Fearing too!
I must agree I get it too Suntan.
You don’t like blacks, liberals, women, …
Should we try for Jews, gays, Mexicans and Muslims next?
April 30th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Phew ! What can I say to all that? Oh yea, we illiterate white people too!
April 30th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Well, first let me repost another comment that I’ve made to our dear suntan: Suntan~ you’re HILARIOUS. If you find being a racist dick hilarious, I mean.
suntan’s response:
Cheryl Carroll Heres hoping you rot from inside out from cunt cancer you leftist, liberal, Chavez loving
suntan then said:
Yoy don’t like my comments do you? Freedom of speech is such a good thing except when what is said doesn’t match your rose colored glassed view. Check my other comments if you dare CUNTLICKER
LOL. I mean really, he’s making me laugh.
Suntan, I’m not a liberal. But if I was, I don’t think it’s fair to conclude that someone who is a liberal is also a cuntlicker. I mean really, I don’t think that cuntlicking is part of the Democratic Party Platform. Anyway, you don’t have to be a liberal to be a cuntlicker.
I’ve seen enough of the hard realities of life that I don’t think I ever had the opportunity to wear those rose colored glasses you assume I have on.
Free speech is a wonderful thing. You should remember that while you’re defending your right to make an ignorant ass of yourself, I have the right to respond to your prejudiced and uninformed rants.
btw: Umm, I don’t think that “cunt cancer” is a real disease.
April 30th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
LOLOLOL Cheryl!!! :D
April 30th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
You were the one that started by calling me a “racist Dick” what can’t take as well as you give. You are the prime example of what is now so wrong with my democratic party. Can’t take the heat get out of the fire. Now just because of your comments when I go to work tomorrow and I see a “wetback” waving his dripping appendage after relieving himself in public I’m going to call the police and report the aforementioned “day laborer” for exposing himself. That’s called lewd and lascvious behavior as the ones I see probably are not legally here he won’t be able to post bail. He’ll have you to thank for his incarceration until trial. That’s America
April 30th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
Suntan~ isn’t the leader of a march supposed to actually lead the march by walking in the front of it? It’s interesting that you don’t make that connection. You’re also apparently unaware that Dr. King spent time in jail. During that time he wrote a letter, the “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”. But I’m sure you’ve never heard of it, and even if you have you’d never read it. You’re so incredibly locked into this mindset of bigotry.
So, you’re pissed about the darkies stealing from you at work, but you’ve never called the police? That doesn’t make sense. I also find it interesting that you think blacks are the only ethnic group capable of stealing. Here’s something for you to think about, my dear Suntan. Perhaps a propensity to steal is based on a character flaw vs. an ethnic flaw. Wait, I just asked you to think didn’t I? I’m sorry. Just go back to letting your brain simmer in a wasted pool of hate.
Moving on from this racist: is anyone else getting a tad bit nervous about the price of oil and food shortages around the world? How about Sam’s Club limiting the number of large bags of rice that you can buy? The damned wheat shortage… man, all I eat is wheat bread. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
April 30th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Epiph~ I saw your post after I was done typing up mine. Thanks for that. Please weigh in on the oil and possible food shortage issue when you get the chance.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
No, Suntan, he’ll have YOU to thank for your inability to control your anger. What exactly do you think vengeance will solve? Don’t be so pissed about my comments, b/c everything I said was true. And now you’re pissed b/c I’m utilizing the same opportunity for free speech that you did.
I also find it funny that you just said you’re a democrat, and said that I was a cuntlicking liberal. Lol, Suntan. Welcome to the cuntlicking club.
Again, moving on from Suntan~ I’m really interested to hear what you guys have to say about my other comment.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
I going to have such a good time tomorrow just like two weeks ago when I was insulted on the Kos and followed up by reporting an wetback running an illegal taxi service. He was able to post bond and get his vehicle of of impound but only after considerable expense. I then saw him the next week in the same place, followed him until the van was almost full and called police. He’s now sitting in the county jail awaiting trial as his van continues to acrue towing and storage fees. Isn’t America great. Multipile citations for drivng without a license, inspection, insurance, along with running an illegal taxi service should exclude the aforementioned character from any amnesty. Tomorroes will have you to thank as I wink at him as he’s carted off to the county jail. Thanks for giving me something to look forward to tomorrow.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
I am more than a tad nervous about food shortages and the price of food in general not to mention the price of oil. Good for the truckers who have protested in Washington DC. I get especially nervous when in the supermarket I see that a tomato costs 1 buck a piece and see that cereal is now over 5 bucks a box. There are food riots going on in Egypt now and it’s not going to get any better.
Meanwhile the oil companies once again have made record profits this last quarter.
And on and on it goes… Yes I’m nervous.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Who cares about fuel and oil? We are the most powerful nation in the world and what the world won’t give WE WILL TAKE. That’s the glory of this nation I’m so proud to call home.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
And no I’m not riled up and my blood pressure is as low as ever. I just revel in my ability to incense those such as you. It really makes my day. And yes, I’m a registered Dem. and barely annoyed that those such as you have successfully hijacked a political party, say hello to Howard Dean that is unless he’s visiting his son and criminal in jail. Must be an octaroon in that bloodline.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Someone insulted you on the Daily Kos Suntan???
I’m shocked, SHOCKED AND APPALLED! Why would anyone ever say anything insulting to a kind, gentle, well meaning individual like you? And to someone who always remembers to keep a civil tongue in their head as well?
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?!!!
April 30th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
What you fail to realize is that most like you when unable to civilly argue a poiny resort to name calling. Don’t call names if you can’t take it. Just be glad I’m not of hispanic descent or I’d be sacrificing chickens and goats to put a santa ria curse on you. That I guess is allowed in our country as that is part of the hispanic culture, and since they refuse to assimilate it will soon be part of our culyure. Just like the hispanics in NJ, mother and son who made their sacrifice this weekend on our lovely coastline, leaving the carcasses for women and children to find birds and other animals. Look what we have to look forward to with all this unchecked immigration. I distinctly remember roosters crowing during the “ELIAN” watch in Miami. What a great example of multi-culturalism.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
I wear amber lens as they help quite well in determining targets.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Ok we can now add Hispanics to suntan’s list…
April 30th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
I changed my mind, the border patrol needs more machine guns and german shepards.
April 30th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
And just what race will be conducting the food riots in our country? If NY in 1977, Miami in the 1980’s, and Los Angeles in 1992 are any example we know just which will be responsible. I suggest all law abiding citizens arm themselves. Remember just whose races were the predominate ones caught looting after hurricanes Andrew, Frances, and Charlie. Just remember the faces looting televisions after Hurricane Katrina (televisions and electronics with no power) Now we have the devastating tornados in VA. homeowners are only being allowed 10 min. to retreive a lifetime of memories. Just who do you think can’t be seen until they open their eyes or smile in the dark of night. Demand your legislators to enact the “CASTLE DOCTRINE” so that you as a homeowner can your life, family and property. WHAT THE WORLD WON”T GIVE, WE WILL TAKE.
April 30th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
Don’t stop at one verse, Alan: the Gospel of Luke is a fine testament of your Messiah. ;)
April 30th, 2008 at 11:16 pm
Suntan, you’re sowing so much hatred and vengeance in your life that I can assure you your “chickens will come home to roost” very soon. You’re a waste of my time.
Epiphany~ I’ve just added him to my list of people to ignore. We all reap what we sow, so I’ll let nature take its course and not worry about him.
I heard on George Noory’s show a few nights ago that when the dollar drops by 1% the price of gas goes up by $4. I don’t know enough about the economy at this point to understand why our dollar has been dropping like this… but I don’t like it. The best thing I can think of is to start stocking food, and I am so not kidding. Slowly but surely, I’m setting aside canned foods (like Hormel turkey chili, yum!). I’m also starting a vegetable garden. Now, even if things weren’t looking so bad economically I’d still be starting a garden b/c I LOVE tomatoes!
April 30th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
Now that the United States (of America) has lost the “moral highground” thanks to the policies and warmongering of the group of buffoons in office the last 7 years…and has become the laughingstock of the rest of the world – it will be interesting to watch events unfold over the next decade as it loses it’s place as the world’s top economy to China.
The wealthy have seen it coming for years, but don’t worry they have protected their interests by moving their wealth offshore….all the while convincing ignorant conservative heartlanders to support the policies that allow them to do so…
Within a generation the US will lose it’s last and final trump card…its so-called “miltary supremecy”…which is really just a euphemism for “we have nukes, and experience using them…”
…However, as we’ve seen, this military might can’t even secure the road from Bahgdad to the airport, half a trillion dollars and five years on, lol
In our lifetimes, there will be a massive shift in the world order, and then….THEN, you’re gonna see some “chickens come home to roost”, my friends…
If I were y’all, I’d start “loving thy neighbour”, and fast…. because you’re gonna be the ones servicing the bus soon…
April 30th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
btw: I agree with everything that King said above. Has anyone ever taken the time to study the Vietnam war, or really take a look at why so many other countries hate us? We do a lot of good for the world, but we also fuck things up.
April 30th, 2008 at 11:37 pm
Cheryl is, sadly, correct. The US HAS done a lot of “good”…although there have been ulterior motives, lol, e.g overthrow the “evil” elected socialists in Guatemala 1954, and replace with “good” United Fruit Company, hahaha
The list of bad things that the US has done on the way to her rise to the top is indeed staggering. But no American that gets their history from the likes of cable TV and Ollie North, is ever going to have to face up to it…
…After all, you live in a nation where in 2004 3/5 Harvard business school students could NOT say what decade your civil war was in, or find China on a map.
I fear for you, I really do. At first after 9/11 there WAS discussion about how past policies may have led to America’s unpopularity. But within months, this humility turned to hubris and false “nationalism”…and suddenly we think the world “hates our freedom”! Ridiculous.
…so the flag pins go back on, and the world be damned once again…
Unbelievable.

Is it just me or does suntan sound just like angry rich?

Suntan forgot to insult the Philipino-midget-humpbacks.
Yes, Cheryl some of us do remember Nam..it was an interesting and enlightening time. Some of us were even shot at and lived to tell the REAL story. It was when the “Greatest Generation” was told to stop micromanaging their childrens lives.

So Dr? “King” has finally gotten his wish as I understand that the liberal jew Barbara Walters has had a severe case of jungle fever. I just wonder what antibiotics she used to clear up that nasty infection that now seems to be infecting so many of white teen girls in our country. Too bad she didn’t catch it nowadays as I hear it leads to immune defeciency.
