Fox Calls North Carolina For Obama; CBS Calls Indiana For Hillary

May 6th, 2008, 7:30 PM EDT

The black vote is one-third of the electorate in Indiana, and Barack took 91%. Clinton does well with white voters, especially those with no college degree.  A split vote is what was expected, so what changes?  And who wins tonight? John McCain?

Responses to this post...

  4. Just watched an excellent debate/discussion on CNN. Superb commentary by Donna Brazile in defense of Barack Obama. She put everyone in their place, especially Paul Begala who was being extremely divisive in his comments about the Democratic party and who’s a Hillary supporter. Not to mention the right wing commentator who offered, “how do we know Obama won’t put people like William Ayers in his cabinet?” Wow cheap shot and Donna Brazile called him on it.

    Donna Brazile kicks ass. lol.

  5. CBS is full of it. Indiana is too close to call.

  6. Why does it look and sound like there’s a funeral taking place over at Fox News? lol!

  12. I’m not diggin my color either. I’d prefer a nice purple shade.

Look, Hill isn’t backing down. PERIOD. She’s going to take this all the way to the convention. Good for her. Which candidate will perform better during the national election is still a very valid question.

However, if Obama loses the nomination I would like to say that I don’t see him serving as VP. I think that he and Michelle are ‘all or nothing’ kind of people. I think that Hillary might come around to serving as VP… if Barack will have her, that it.

  13. It’s ok, it’s all right, everything is going to be just fine.

I just got dressed and I’m heading over to Lake County, Indiana right now to straighten out this whole mess. I’ll let you know in two hours who won the state of Indiana.

I have it on good word that the reason for the delay in Lake County is that the vote counters over there were in a tizzy because Alan hasn’t been on Fox News tonight for his commentary and VERY LITTLE tonight on his radio show. I agree with this tizzy.

I’m bringing alot of chamomile tea and ovaltine and I will calm them down and bring this nail-biting situation to an end.

    Wish me luck!

  15. Epiph… you are just WAY too much for me tonight. Oh my gosh. I only made it through to “I just got dressed and I’m heading over to Lake County” before I LOST IT. :0)

“Nail biting”. yeah, that’s what CNN was advertising this as.

Man, I can’t believe your comment. That’s one of the biggest laughs I’ve had in a while. I needed that.

  16. LOL! I am so glad I made ya laugh Cheryl. You gotta have humor sometimes to get through these things, don’t you think? :D

On the other hand did you notice that the moment Alan took to the airwaves at Fox News earlier (1AM here), the final results for Indiana came in at the EXACT same time?

    COINCIDENCE??? I THINK NOT!!!

    Think about it. 8->

  17. From the Huffington Post:

“Donna Brazile, Paul Begala Angrily Spar Over Dem Stereotypes”

(I saw this excellent segment on CNN and there was more to it but here is some of it)

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/06/brazile-and-begala-angril_n_100500.html

There are two videos of this. The first is Begala and the second one is with Begala and Brazile.

Donna Brazile has also defended Hillary Clinton as well.

  20. Considering that Barack Obama is a much better candidate than Hillary Clinton…in more areas than just facing Mccain in the fall……I have to laugh at your question….I know you are a Hillary support…and I am at a loss, side from the fact that she is the senator from NY, where you live, as to why you fall for her rhetorical spin….she has no experience…she is running on President Bill Clinton’s legacy….not her own……President Barack Obama will be what this country needs to be whole again…..It is time all Democrats regardless of support…come together around Obama…there is no way Hillary can win, unless she wants to destroy this Party and country…….This contest is not about her….somebody needs to remind her of that.

  21. Lucieann~ Obama being a better candidate is a matter of opinion.

I stand by her Senatorial record, and the Clinton legacy. I LOVE the Clintons, I always have. You know how the cons think that Reagan is a god? That’s basically how I feel about my Clintons. Now, if she’s gone to Congress and not done anything, or been a Laura Bush, glassy eyed stare type First Lady, then I wouldn’t be a Hillary supporter. But this woman brings a lot of intelligence, diplomacy, and strategy to the table all on her own.

  22. I feel like the other 26 year old caller who called up Alan’s show last night and said that this was the first time he was voting, the first time he was paying attention to politics, etc. Well, I don’t know why he chose not to vote in 2000 (if he was 18) and 2004, but I did. I can say that in 2000 I voted for Bush b/c he was supposed to be Christian (I’ve posted another comment about that). In 04 I was just so impressed with Kerry and his kids… do you remember how damned smart those kids were? And how handsome his son was? (stud!) While the Kerry kids were running town-hall type discussions, the Bush twins were trying not to puke last night’s vodka on the stage.

I haven’t spent as much time researching political history/issues as I have the last few months. After reading Zinn’s book, I’m growing quite disillusioned with my government. I don’t recall learning about the Pentagon Papers, and that PISSES ME OFF. I have a damned good memory, I would have remembered some shit like that.

Epiphany~ I watched both vids at the links you provided. I checked Dobbs’s website, to try to get the full interview. Donna Brazile seems really cool.

  23. I’ve been trying to find this article for a couple of weeks. I wanted to use it during one of our many discussions on Wright. It’s about a sludge test being used in black neighborhoods in Baltimore… and people wonder why some blacks think the govt is capable of giving and spreading AIDS.

Scientists using federal grants spread fertilizer made from human and industrial wastes on yards in poor, black neighborhoods to test whether it might protect children from lead poisoning in the soil. Families were assured the sludge was safe and were never told about any harmful ingredients. full story here http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gbpCMPX9_kRtYkL1Yv9-OzuVxFfQD9018VJG0

  24. Fox news don’t give yourself a pat on the back for that. You have not been fair to Obama from day one. You hvae invited guest to defend him and then you cut them off when they speak. O’Reilly and Hannity Brit Hume are very bias. When Oliver North was on it was unprofessinal the wat he and Hannity carried on. You putdown Rev. Wright. He is not the only one that has a hate spirit. You call your a real news show looking for dirt and garbage on people. Think again. I had to turn the channel.I am very dissapointed in the coverage of this election. Everyone doesn’t want to hear all that stuff that doesn’t have anything to do with the economy. Report some real news and leave Obama alone.

  25. I don’t trust a thing Fox “News” says. After all, they DID say Bush won the 2000 election (which, as we all know, was false).

  26. You do know, Sandra, that Hannity & Colmes and The O’Reilly Factor, aren’t hard news programs, right? And, Annie, by default, if FN calls Obama a candidate for the Democratic Party’s Presidential Nominee, you must believe he isn’t. That’s the logical default of what you said.

  27. Speaking of O’Reilly, I, too was impressed by Hillary on there, though I thought Bill came off as kind of childish, as I said before. I’ll tell you something I do think is fair. To accuse some at FN at absurd levels of self congratulation for landing the interview with Mrs. Clinton.

Also, given the Wright controversy, and people’s refusal to accept his speeches and statements addressing it, which, though not perfect, were pretty decent (albeit I read the first one only), I don’t see it being a wise choice for Obama to go on Bill’s show. O’Reilly will bring it up. He pretty much has to, given his apparent audience.

  28. And for the interview itself, I forgot to add.

  29. WFG:
Given the fact they have known crooks and liars on as “analysts”, it’s hard for me to take anything they say seriously.

I mean, c’mon – KKKarl Rove, one of the most corrupt people in politics (next to Tom DeLay, who is also a Fox “analyst”) voicing his “moral” opinion? Turd blossom? Give me a break!!!!

    Just ask Don Siegelman.

  30. Annie, I see your point in the first comment up there… but you have to admit what WFG said was funny…

Epiphany~ thanks for the numerical breakdown up there. It reminds me of something Bender said to Prof. Farnsworth in the Futurama movie: “What you got there, numbers?”. LOL
