Edwards Endorses Obama

Does that affect your vote?

Responses to this post...

  1. I knew nothing about Edwards some years ago, when I first heard his name, and I can’t say that I know anything now that I didn’t know then.

  3. I think I can hear the fat lady starting to sing…

  4. You are right Budda in that I’ve heard pundits say earlier, that Edwards’ endorsement is a signal to superdelegates to finally come forward and end this thing. That this is hurting the Democratic party and this kind of ugly divisiveness has to end.

  5. It’s about time!
    Edwards is the man.

  6. oh, good.
I thought Edwards was never going to give in.

But you’re right Epiphany, I don’t think the lady has enough pantsuits to keep on going. And her campaign is burning down…

  7. Edwards for VP (If it can’t be Gore)!!!!!!!

  8. Alexa: the pantsuits line was FUNNY!

  9. Edwards is a smart cookie. Does his endorsement of Obama change anything for me? No. But I don’t care who endorses who I care about the issues. Right on John, welcome aboard.

  10. John Edwards for attorney general ..

  11. I am really excited to hear this. Due to the fact that so many people felt disenfrachised when he dropped out I hope he does become V.P. president because on a morbid note as Alan’s psychic guest last night predicted than that would be somone who would also be great as president for this country. I hope it doesn’t happen but nevertheless it would make a stunning ticket.

  12. Since the subject of pantsuits came up, is it just me or does Hillary wear some really hideous stuff in some really hideous colors?

  13. RC–why are you picking on what HRC wears??? That is COMPLETELY evolved of you, now isn’t it? Did you like how Obama called a female reporter “sweetie” today? That, my friend, is why HRC supporters will NEVER pull the lever for Obama.

  14. John Edwards is the one who who made millions by driving up the cost of healthcare suing doctors into oblivion, and now wants to pass on the legacy cost to us mere mortals through a National Health Care plan.

I live in North Carolina, not far from Figure 8 Island. Figure 8 is where people like John Travolta, Dean Smith, and other big wigs have multi-million dollar homes on a private beach, sucking down carbon emissions for a house that they use 2-3 times a year. Guess who else has a house there? Yep, little old hypocrite, John Edwards.

Dick Cheney may be screwing us by benefiting financially from the government policy in Iraq, but at least he didn’t create the Iraq situation. Edwards was a major player in contributing to the rise of health care costs, benefited financially in the process, and now wants to ride in on a white horse and take my money to solve HIS problem. To me, he is the ultimate hypocrite.

If Obama picks him as a running mate, any chance of me voting for Obama is gone.

  15. RC~ I think that her pantsuits are okay. Not as stylish as I would wear, but they do the job. I do find it interesting that during her entire term as First Lady she wore traditional skirt suits (to my knowledge anyway).

For those who saw the Alan Sucks myspace page, here’s the one for Edwards:
    http://www.myspace.com/jedwardssucks
His song is hilarious, as is the one they picked for Obama and Clinton.

  17. Funny thing is both Obama and Clinton immediately asked Edwards for his endorsement, but he stayed mum for more than four months.

*He said Obama “stands with me” in a fight to cut poverty in half within 10 years, a claim Obama confirmed moments later. (Yahoo! News)

    And then dun, dun, dun,—-

He finally went for my boy Obama.

  18. oh please, McCain is the one you should be watching out for. He’ll flirt with any intern in the White House.

I would let Obama call me sweetie anyday. ;-)

  19. I liked Edward’s line about being promised a jet ski! You know he was promised something! No matter, McBu$h will win in November because the sheeple will fall in line just like they did for W…twice !!

  20. Smart campaign that Obama runs.
A day after Hilary wins West VA, Edwards endorses Obama.
I wonder when Hilary will endorse Obama?…hmmm….

  21. Hmmmm, well I don’t want to be thought of as a Neanderthal, and I admit that criticizing Hillary’s wardrobe veers dangerously close to flag pin accusations, and I can see how “sweetie” might rile people up, but at the same time I have to say that there’s probably a fair number of doctors who deserve to be sued into oblivion, and then, as Mark Twain might say, they should be horse-whipped.

And the funny thing is, for the first time ever in my life, my health care provider sent me a refund check for about $200, “as a result of lower medical expenses than expected.”

Everybody’s trying to bribe me to vote Republican. First, it’s the government, then it’s my HMO.

Hey, Exxon! Send me a check!

  22. I could care less about Hillary’s pantsuits. Although I have a feeling that whatever she wore would be criticised. Trivial nonsense.

All I know is, I hope when I’m her age, 60, that I look as spectacular as she always does.

Damn it, no matter how stressful this campaign gets, she always looks beautiful.

No. Turning these United States into a European-style country represents something other than ‘progress’ to me.

  24. Does this affect my vote?

Nope, neither of these socialists are worthy of my vote anyway.

Once again this election season will boil down to “lesser of two evils” when all is said and done.

Where did all the good politicians go?

  26. Sneauman obviously has health insurance or is not sick. While there clearly was some lawsuit abuse, most people who have been harmed by medical errors (and there are lots of medical errors)deserve some fair plan to achieve equity. No fault statues combined with rigorous enforcement of quality standards might even the playing field. Until Sneauman can find how to make us equal in providing proper healthcare within the for profit healthcare system and insurance for profit schema, to ALL of our citizens at least as good as the many countries of the world which surpass us in most health statistics, he should holster his “socialist” derision. Sick kids don’t make good health policy. Women dying from preventable disease and high infant mortality rates because of lack of pre-natal care; and dollars up front demand for access to cancer drugs don’t add up to sound health policy. Wake up and show some compassion for your fellow man rather than your self centered I have it…a pox on you attitude!

  27. I can see where an endorsement can influence those that are in the political sphere such as the “superdelegates” but I wouldn’t think that it would affect the average citizens support. I would hope that people would research the candidates to see who most represents their views and not just be lead to support a candidate based on anothers opinions.

  28. *getting in line to be called “sweetie ” by Obama*

  29. Edwards is such a creep. He looked like he was on drugs or something when he was on TV endorsing Obama. His eyes blinked like something was very wrong or he was just trying to look good!Yuk. If Hiliary does not get nomination, McCain has my vote. These endorsers sure don’t cast my ballot for me.
A middle class white American from a small town in Ohio. (Remember all of us in small towns turn to our religion when things get bad) Obama/Edwards mean a McClain win.

  30. Wait, what?
In what way is McCain similar to Clinton? Clinton and Obama are very close on the issues. McCain is LIGHT-YEARS away!

  31. I don’t understand how any supporter of Obama or Clinton could support McCain if their desired candidate doesn’t get the nomination, but I’m all for it. I certainly don’t want to see either Democratic candidate in office. :)

  32. Craig, history has shown that come November these people vote for the Democrat either, but it’s certainly true that Hillary staying in the race and continuing to bash Obama is not helping. I really hope that history repeats itself, as it tends to do, because I sure don’t want to see another 4 years of Republican presidential policies :)

  34. HEY EVERYBODY THEIRS A FIGHT ON YHE PLAYGROUND BETWEEN OBAMA AND HILLARY
    By scorpi2000 - May 14th, 2008 at 10:56 pm EDT
Hillary Clintons behavior reminds me of the kid at school who is jealous of another kid because, he or she is more popular and liked by everyone . so she starts a fight, or speaks badly of the the popular kid. Why is it in the olympics, you get disqualified for trying to win by interfering with the other competiters. Why is it so important that it be a fair race to be valid.

The media likes the mud slinging and negative back and forth , actualy instagating the fight to keep it going like children on the play ground at school excited to see a fight, taunting the ones involved. hey man you gonna let him talk about you like that and get away with it. You must be scarred. Your a punk. dont let him say that about your mama, kick his but .

If any parent saw their child( Hillary ) acting this way, they would break up the fight and tell their child about their bad behavior. Wouldnt they say grow up, what youre doing is a sign of imaturity. Would they say your just as wrong( to the media ) for instagating the fight . there’s a more mature way of settling your differences.

Is this a sreet brawl, gang fight, or a debate between two inteligent adults, mature enough to lead our country.

We dont need any more of this type of politics in the White House its already done enough damage.

EXPOSE THEM AND THIER TACTICTS INSTEAD OF FOLLOWING THEM DOWN THAT SLIPPERY SLOPE.

Be like the Parent who is pointing out how childish and imature this behavior is.

REMIND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HOW BUSH MISLED THEM WITH THE SAME TACTICS.

I BELIEVE USING THIS APROACH CAN HELP TO DEFUSE SOME OF THIS AS OBAMA CONTINUES ON HIS JOURNEY

    THANKS

  35. Hey Scorpi, I never thought anybody else would have said it but I also think that Hilary acts sometimes like such a bully. She practically yells at me to vote for her and then she opens her eyes yet so wide like they are threatening me to swallow me whole. Scary!
But yeah, for politics, it is always a playground and always will be.

  36. hee-hee: swallow me with her eyes :)

  37. Still supporting Hillary. The woman has balls that Obama is sorely missing.

  38. Right on, Jerry!!!

You know what sucks though, is that the strong spirit Hillary has is characterized in unflattering terms b/c she’s a woman. I heard one caller on a conservative radio show say that she was like a “rabid pit bull” b/c she won’t give up. And when people call her a bitch, I just say “Well, that BITCH will get the job done!”.

  39. I believe that Billary is done for. She knows it too, but she wants something in return or hoping Obama trips himself or/and someone comes up with some gossips to sway votes her way.

As far as backing Obama when it’s over …I’m seriously wondering if she will give her 100%. She’s vindictive and just see what she did to some people who helped her in the past…Peter Paul, the charter guy from the White House, ect …

By not getting her way, I got no idea how she will be, but it is scary of what she can do behind backs and closed doors.

    Just my opinion..

    Peace all!!
