OMG! OMG! Barack and Farrakhan In Same Magazine!
And conservatives are using their apperance on the cover of The Trumpet, the in-house organ of Obama’s church, to make some kind of link.

Bill Sammon of the Washington Examiner was on Hannity and Colmes promoting this linkage, and I pointed out that I could accuse him of being sympathtic to Farrakhan by playing the same game.
In fact, here is the proof:

Aha! See? They’re right next to each other. They’re close.

LOL. I’m sorry, I can’t even comment b/c the presentation of this piece is just too funny. lol

But in response to Farrakhan’s many remarks, the Obama campaign promptly released a response distancing himself from the muslim minister:
Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan’s past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister’s support… (this was implemented by Obama’s spokesman Bill Burton.)
–> Obama himself denounced and rejected Farrakhan’s support in an NBC debate recently. =)
Good boy.

Alan, sometimes i want to choke you for letting hannity walk all over you but there are some days that you do stand up against hannity and today was that day.
when hannity began slamming the democratic strategists on Obama and his pastor, you went after hannity saying..
‘i have been around you sean for 11 years, is that guilt by association?’
poor hannity got so angry and i just laughed at how pathetic hannity looked.
good one colmes!

I used to play in a band with a guy who went on to play with a guy who played guitar for Jason Bohnam’s band and since Jason Bohnam was the son of John Bohham and he has also played with Zepplin numerous times…I guess I can say I jammed with Zeppelin…in a round about way there’s a link!

If this is the worst the right wing can do, then they are in serious trouble.
May 15th, 2008 at 12:41 am
Guilt by association. Let’s play 6 Degrees of Separation.
I had a friend a while ago from Austria. His grandfather had been a high up Nazi and and had met Hitler.
Hitler – My friend’s grandpa – My friend – Me – Alan Colmes – Everyone on here
You are all now associated with Hitler.
May 15th, 2008 at 3:30 am
Barack, Farrakhan, Sharpton or Jesse Jackson what the difference. They all spew the same hatred of America that would only divide this nation further.
May 15th, 2008 at 3:36 am
Bill Sammon’ a liar. He said last night on Hannity and Colmes that Obama’s first book speaks kindly of Farrakan. That’s an outright lie. Obama talks about someone from his neighborhood that he knew that was a member of the Nation Of Islam, because it got her off of drugs or something. Obama said how the Nation Of Islam’s views were totally opposite of the morals that his mother and grandparents raised him on and he said how the nation of islam really missed that mark and is destructive. Bill Sammon is either or liar or he was just too lazy to read the book.

Damn… I knew Hitler? Does this mean I’m going to have to stand trial and face war crimes charges???
Epiphany, if you get the chance check out some of the people that are on the Woods board. I think that you would totally dig the women on the board. One of them, Beth E. Richie, has done AMAZING work for black women. The other, Lucia Woods Lindley, is also a feminist and I think that community service is basically all she does.

From the WorldNetDaily Article
“Issues of Wright’s Trumpet magazine reportedly have suggested America was guilty of genocide in Africa, decried the Fourth of July as the “national holiday of the dominant culture,” referred to America as a “diaspora” for blacks, repudiated American patriotism and entertained suggestions the Bush administration knew about the 9-11 attacks before they were carried out.”
I see why conservatives hate the Trumpet; it’s pretty damn near accurate.
Have conservatives already forgotten the NIE Memo “Bin Laden determined to strike in US”? Because the Trumpet sure hasn’t.
Genocide in Africa? Well, what did we do to stop the conflict in Rwanda or the Congo? Hmm…exactly.
The 4th of July is a national holiday celebrated by ‘mainstream culture’. Conservatives have a problem with that.
There is a museum in San Francisco called the “African Diaspora” or something to that effect. But conservatives don’t know anything about black people, so there you go.
American patriotism? Well, what’s more patriotic? Being a ‘lemming’ or preventing your country from driving off the abyss? You tell me.
I don’t know about you, but if I were a radio host, I would interview the writer of the magazine. It’s probably not Wright himself, though.
May 15th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
My great grandparents were from Austria! Does that mean I have ties to Hitler? Maybe I should join Hannity in the KKK. It’s my destiny! Guilt by association!
May 15th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Unfortunately I don’t think many people really know what Obama’s social and political views are and trivial stuff like this photo invalidate any inquiry into whether or not he subcribes to any of the ideaology of Farrakhan. I think that Hillary staying in this contest,if it’s true that she doesn’t have any legitimate way to win the nomination, only serves to inhibit the American people from hearing actual differences between Obama and McCain that are dealing with how they would lead the country.
May 15th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
TDro, sorry, but are you attempting to be ironic in calling Hannity a KKK member, or do you believe him to be comparable to one, if not an actual member? If the latter, it doesn’t help matters much. Pointing to fallacies is of lessened affectiveness if the person doing so causes offense.
May 15th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Bill Sammon is an idiot~!! if he professes to be an educated man…he really should know better~!! Will he show Senator Obama, who has more honor and substance in his pinky toe than Sammon has in his entire career, the respect he deserves when Barack becomes the 44th President of the United States next January? Please spare me~~ Bill Sammon makes a mockery of his profession~!!
May 15th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Since “most people don’t know”, why don’t you tell us just what Obama’s social and political views really are Craig? Please save us any philosophy while enlightening us all with (your) facts.
May 15th, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Did I say that I knew what his positions are?
May 15th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
Read your own statement stupid.
May 15th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Just what I expected………..nothing.
Ignore.
May 15th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Craig. The man has written two books. If you still don’t know what his positions are, it’s your fault, not his.
I’m tired of this stupid argument.
May 15th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Point taken. (blushing)

sorry… I’ve just heard that so many times from different people. It seems like a cop-out.

There is clearly a fear in white America, that a black American, can objectivly and without bias be the leader of thier country. The same country that no one other than one of them has ever been in charge of.
I believe and see that because of the past discrimination of African Americans some of white Americans may feel that an African American would be a possible risk being President of this country.
Some of them might feel that we may treat them the way some of them have treated us. THIS IS NOT TRUE BY ANY MEANS. but some may truely fear this. I think this is one of the reasons Barack is under the microscope in such an exrteme way.
Thats why what J Wright and Farhkan say are so alarming to some and what I concider as insensitive and counter productive. These fears that exist are real and must be adressed with extreem sensitivity. It must be taken as seriuos as our sensitivities to their veiw and treatment of us as black Americans.
The fact that they are concidering the possibility of a black President shows me that for one, many Americans are changing their views about race, and are now open, for what ever reasons, to give a black man a try.
So I think we should be sensitive to their fears of us, just like we would like them to be sensitive to our fears and suspicions of them.
LETS MOVE FORWARD AND BREAK DOWN THESE RACIAL BARRIERS
BARACK OBAMA IS THE ONE PERSON IN THIS PRESIDENTIAL RACE THAT CAN DO IT.
THANKS
SCORPI2000 OBAMA 08
May 15th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
*sigh*
once is enough, dude.
May 15th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
America began changing it’s views about race when the scourge of slavery ended. From that end, great things occured for the civil liberties of all people in America. However, as a white person how long must I be labeled a racist? How many apologies must I make? Where does the demand for restitution end? When can I engage in conversation with a black person without the subject of discrimination? When can we all have a future if we’re constantly reminded of our past?
May 16th, 2008 at 11:32 am
Ok Craig,
You want something? How about a picture since you don’t even understand your own statements.
Your very first sentence stresses how unfortunate some are for not being able to understand Obama’s social and political views.
The readers first impression is that the person doing the writing knows what he’s talking about. You implicated yourself with this knowledge. All I did was call your bluff, and your reply was….. “Did I say I knew what his positions are?”
So, your first sentence implied knowledge while your reply implied you had none.
Which is something I already knew. Get the picture?
May 16th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Craig a Philosopher? Hardly.

To Burt,
John Bonham was a permanent fixture. Jason is not. You never played with Zeppelin, or will ever replace Jimmy Page.
Put the drugs down, and get a job.
