The Friday Free-For-All

May 24th, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT

Leslie Marshal is sitting in on radio, but the free-for-all is right here, online.

  1. I can’t believe there is not a thread about Hillary and the end of her political career. Why would anyone running for office bring up the word assassinate? I like Hillary, but she has been given a free pass for too many questionable things she has said. As in, “hard working whites” or praising McCain at the expense of Obama. She also has been trying to change the rules of the primary election until it puts her ahead. Why is this an argument? It’s pledged delegates not popular vote no matter how many times she says it. The rules for the primary have been good enough for every other election, but I guess the rules need to change midstream if your name is Hillary Clinton. Maybe if she had apologized after her horrid remarks instead of the usual average political bullshit “If I offended anyone I’m sorry” Unbelievable!

  2. I don’t get the Friday show until Sunday night at three in the freakin’ morning, but it usually is worth waiting up for.

  3. Well hopefully I get on the air sometime before Saturday…

  4. Hillary’s “hard working whites” remark sounded like a case of trying to fit in too many colorful descriptives some political analyst is telling her to use, and just stumbling over it.

But if we’re going to discuss trivial moments, the one that got me is when the debate opens Hillary complains about always getting the first question in debates, but then she goes on to say how she doesn’t mind answering, because she just thinks it’s strange, or something, that she always gets the first question, and she’s not complaining, but she is, and she doesn’t mind, but she does, because if she didn’t mind she wouldn’nt have said anything to begin with.

Or maybe some uber political analyst told her to put this out there, for some reason I’m having trouble imagining.

And it just seemed very petty and small.

  5. Yikes! I like Leslie but she just said “so why did Obama sit in that church for twenty years?” Wow. Interesting. She’s using rightwing talking points. Or maybe Hillary talking points lol. Is Leslie saying that she thinks Barack believes the same things that Rev. Wright said?

I know Leslie’s a liberal but I think she may be an over zealous Hillary supporter. How many times are we going to here that 20 year question over and over again? Lots of times. But from Republicans.

lol I hear Noel on right now.

  6. Well, there go my 15 minutes. (again) (30 minutes?)

I stepped back a second when I heard the “20 year” line again, but I think it fit fine in the context of what that caller was saying.

But like I’ve said here a million times before, “Reverend Wright’s sermons are easily available on the net -I’ve seen about 17- and they are all mostly ordinary scripture talk -nothing extraordinary- (which is why we only see the same 3 or 4 loops over and over) 100% of what Barack heard in that church was -albeit rough sometimes- NOT CONTROVERSIAL.

  7. I have a problem with Obama sitting in that church being influenced by that pastor for almost two decades as well, but I have just as big a problem with Hiliary and her wanting to control and censor most forms of media too. I really want an alternative to both the Demroids and Repubics, they’re just two heads of the same beast.

  8. Please check me out at Noelgood.blogspot.com

  9. Hillary is becoming a joke! She’s like the person you play crib with and it’s ‘first 2 games outta 3 wins!’ and then when you win they cry ‘best 3 outta 5′ and then ‘5 outta 7′ and on and on.

  10. The media didn’t play the last part of the interview where Clinton said..

“And it’s a little known fact that in June, more black people get shot than any other month.”

Seems funny they’d leave that out.

Oh well, I’m sure it was just a fo-pah on her part.

    I forgive her.

  11. What the Fuck! I didn’t hear the end of that interview. Like it wasn’t bad enough already. She is done. The Superdelegates aren’t gonna be impressed by these clumsy words and their quasi- meanings or the half assed apology. Top it off with another insult to black America unintended or not. Maybe she needs to quit talking out of her ass for awhile. I’m just sayin…

  12. Hoo hu, oh man sorry dude, that was just a joke.

God, if she did say some crazy sh!t like that, it’d be just out of this world.

    Heh. Sorry.

  13. How’s I miss this thread last night? Dang, dude. And none of my homies came looking for me! Guess you guys thought I was as much a lost cause as Dick Cheney.

RC said: “Hillary’s “hard working whites” remark sounded like a case of trying to fit in too many colorful descriptives some political analyst is telling her to use, and just stumbling over it.”

I concur, brother. I wrote about that under the “How bad is it for Hillary” post.

Noel/Obama Boy said: “Well, there go my 15 minutes. (again) (30 minutes?)” LMAO. Yeah, with Leslie it really is more like 30 minutes of fame. :-D

    Burt, that’s funny but I don’t agree.

Noel said: “The media didn’t play the last part of the interview where Clinton said..

I was wondering if that was a joke, too. Then I scrolled down to poor Haywood’s comment LOL

  14. The point is that Leslie Marshal does not like Obama, apparently by the tone of her voice. I voted Hilary a couple of months ago but I have changed my mind and will be voting for Obama this november. I have continued to do my research, I have done all of it.

I believe Obama is just simply the best candidate for president.
I never thought that i would do it but Obama has my vote.

I wouldn’t have been surprised if she would have actually said,
“And it’s a little known fact that in June, more black people get shot than any other month.”

Does not surprise me anymore. She talks and tough talks and then lies some more in between.
Sorry lady Hilary, you have just lost one vote in Virginia.

  15. Wow a lot of Virginians post in Liberal Land…

  16. And Liberal Land is blessed to have us, Noel.

  17. Not to be of offense to Alan, but I think that your area is one of the few that carries his show on non-sattelite radio. And I think that’s a shame.

  18. His show streams from the FN website, as well as wwrl 1600 out of New York, etc.

  19. Yes, I listen to it streaming from Fox’s website through iTunes. I think that his biggest non-sattelite markets are VA and NYC though.

  20. It makes sense to have a liberal show playing in the VA MD DC area. You know? We’re a pretty diverse mix.

  21. The only “liberal” show we have around here is that looney Corbett dude.

  22. From what I know, Alan’s is also our only liberal program, but I live in the beach area, WNIS, WTAR(where Alan is heard), WNOR, etc. Cheryl lives well up north, and, from what I’ve heard, that area is more progressive than here.

  23. I’m in Fredericksburg, not quite Northern VA. I forgot, Stephanie Miller’s on in the morning. She’s nice, but too obnoxious for me.

  24. Alan, last week you commented that Republicans that can’t stand Hillary are now jumping to her defense. I wouldn’t vote for Hillary or Obama if they paid me, however, I do have compassion for anyone who seems to be getting the shaft, and Hillary seems to get the shaft on every turn. Obama can make up stories, lie, etc. and he gets a free pass. I feel sorry for Hillary, becaue Alan, I have compassion.

  25. Vast RightConservativeConspirator: I feel your pain. I’m tired of the divisive dialogue and the old testament and culturally destructive comments from both DemoGods. How about giving Ralph Nader some air time? He’s been good for the country, savy lawyer, OSHA and EPA champion, out right tired of Big Oil and the (our) governments slow action getting to the bottom (of the oil drum). Perhaps a good old fashion “Boston Tea Party” needs to be encouraged so the gravitational pull of wealth teeters towards the working class once again? if nothing is done soon, the economy will implode and no one will make any money in our mis-managed economy.
