AFK

June 13th, 2008, 8:00 AM EDT

I’m taking a long weekend and posting only sporadically. In the meantime, post your own issues, thoughts, ideas and links…and be nice to each other here.

Responses to this post...

  1. my idea is that everyone should wish my second oldest sister a happy birthday. The old lady is 30 today.

  2. I also think Tony Macrini is taking too long to get to his listeners’ letters.

Btw, to preempt him, I’m now giving FuRyUs a careberry hugsy wugsy.

As for links, see under the blogroll at my blog, I’ve got some decent ones there, like Luminarium, the writing sample analyzer, etc.

  3. How are people getting different identicons? I think Epiphany’s had several in one thread.

  4. Happy Birthday to WFG’s sis today!

  5. What’s that about identicons?

  6. Oh yes. Identicons. I have discovered that through the sheer power of my mind I am able to change my identicons at will. It takes a lot of concentration but I can do it within 10 seconds.

I’m going to do it now.

  9. Thank you WFG, back at ya…

  10. I love listening to Lionel in the morning. From Air America.

  11. I need to figure out how that’s done. I know how to change to a different kind, but not design within the same type.

  12. FuRyUs has been nullified!

  13. test

  14. yep

  15. The mind is truly a wonderful and amazing thing. I hear we only use about 5% of the power that exists within.

I think this is a good start.

  16. I heard it was 10% and that that’s a myth.

  17. I think there should be more pictures of puppies on this blog…

  18. I’m pro puppies!

  20. The whole site just not the political stuff is great…

  21. If this is Liberal Land, where can a Brother apply for a job? I heard that Alan’s job might be open soon. What’s on my resume that makes me special? I’ve been out of a job longer than Al Gore, Sally Jesse Raphael, Donna Brazille, and James Carville combined. I’m “Leave No One Behind” the Democratic Genius who beat Karl Rove and saved Obama.

  22. Hi Alan, thank you for taking my comment! ruff…ruff

I hope you and your family have a peaceful and relaxing weekend.

  23. i dunno about the pro-puppy pictures in here.. but

i think that life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what your going to get.

  24. And I hope I’m not in front of you if that chocolate you spit.

  25. Hey that Steve Elliott’s Grassfire.org took in $612,000 in 2006, according to Kentucky’s attorney general.

Now I’m wondering if there’s any correlation between that and the stupid people of Rick Shenkman’s America.

Louie’s up there says “Sorry, an error occurred:
Page too long – max 100kb allowed”

  27. You guys are artards. How dare you post 20+ comments on a thread without me!

That IS weird about the identicons changing all of a sudden.

I emailed Alan last night and told him that he and the Mrs. should watch IDIOCRACY this weekend. Guess he decided to take an extra long weekend so that they could truly enjoy the movie together. You’re welcome, Alan. :-D

  28. Will Big A be on the radio tonight? And what does AFK mean?

  29. Hey, I just realized where the neoCons are getting their inspiration: Niccolo Machiavelli.

    “Before all else, be armed.”

“A prince never lacks legitimate reasons to break his promise.”

“It is of the greatest advantage in a republic to have laws that keep her citizens poor.”

“There is no better indication of a man’s character than the company which he keeps.”

And here I thought only mafia dons found inspiration in stuff like this.

  30. ^ Yes, I never leave home without using that indispensable tool. I always fear being corrupted and this guide protects me from nefarious and evil websites.

The site itself http://homokaasu.org/ has many other wholesome articles in which to improve your life and the world around you.

  51. Poor Tim. This sucks. I don’t really now what else to say except that he is irreplaceable…

  52. ABSOLUTELY irreplaceable indeed. That is my favorite news show on Sundays, Meet The Press. I love Tim Russert. He is the BEST! Tough on the guests but always fair. A brilliant and probing mind. I’ve been watching him for years and years. I can’t believe it. He was only 58 for God’s sake. Democrats AND Republicans both liked and respected him. He seemed like an incredibly nice person as well.

I don’t know what to say, I’m not good at being eloquent. Just that I feel like I’ve been punched in the stomach right now.

He had such class. You don’t see that as much anymore. Everyone has to push buttons and be controversial in their style. They have to hit you over the head always worried about ratings. He’s from the old school. He was a real gentleman.

    I’m devastated.

  53. where the hell are you guys getting this evil stuff? i didn’t see a link to this?

oh boy… now i really do feel like “ms. mccain”

    somebody plz explain

  54. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK is on USA. good stuff.

  60. “Barack Obama” 99% evil, 1% good

“Barack Hussein Obama” 96% evil, 4% good

    “Hussein” 12% evil, 88% good

does anybody else think that this thing just generates a completely random number?

  61. “John McCain” 20% evil, 80% good

“Alan Colmes” 66% evil, 34% good

  62. “Tim Russert” 1% evil, 99% good

“Keith Olbemann” 3% evil, 97% good

“Sean Hannity” 99% evil, 1% good (I guess this makes Alan the lesser of he two evils)

  63. Michael if you put in a website there is a long mathematical analysis that follows after you click for results.

I don’t know what’s it based on though. lol.

LOL Barack’s middle name Hussein is 88% good! Oh that is too much!

  64. ya’ll hear about tim russert? what a shocker. that’s a damned shame. a heart attack at 58, seems awfully young.

  65. i feel bad for his dad. they seemed really close.

  66. The Gematriculator is a service that uses the infallible methods of Gematria developed by Mr. Ivan Panin to determine how good or evil a web site or a text passage is.

Basically, Gematria is searching for different patterns through the text, such as the amount of words beginning with a vowel. If the amount of these matches is divisible by a certain number, such as 7 (which is said to be God’s number), there is an incontestable argument that the Spirit of God is ever present in the text. Another important aspect in gematria are the numerical values of letters: A=1, B=2 … I=9, J=10, K=20 and so on. The Gematriculator uses Finnish alphabet, in which Y is a vowel.

Experts consider the mathematical patterns in the text of the Holy Bible as God’s watermark of authenticity. Thus, the Gematriculator provides only results that are absolutely correct.

  67. Cheryl if you scroll up I wrote my thoughts on founding out about it. I feel terrible.

  68. John Sidney McCain III: 98% evil.
