No-Bid Oil Contracts In Iraq For Select Companies

June 19th, 2008, 12:47 AM EDT

What a shock!  Only American-chosen countries get contracts in Iraq, as we are advising the Iraq oil ministry.

A total of 46 companies, including the leading oil companies of China, India and Russia, had memorandums of understanding with the Oil Ministry, yet were not awarded contracts.

 And:

The first oil contracts for the majors in Iraq are exceptional for the oil industry.

They include a provision that could allow the companies to reap large profits at today’s prices: the ministry and companies are negotiating payment in oil rather than cash.

  2. Oh yeah, I forgot to say “First!”.

  4. Hey, people of Iraq, sit back and enjoy a nice, refreshing cool one. ‘Cause this no-bid’s for you.

  5. Fifth!

    @WFG, very funny. :)

Toppling Saddam Hussein was a good thing, but perhaps it would have been better to just kill him and then leave. This nation-building stuff, ughh…I feel the Ron Paul voice in me getting louder…tamp it down…tamp it down!

  6. This is why more and more Iraqi people are turning to Muqtada al-Sadr.
He is seen as a populist, fighting foreign occupation.

Remember, Paul O’Neill tried to tell us that this was the reason they went in to begin with, but HE was trashed, just like EVERYONE who told the truth.

  7. I’m glad people are making money off the war. That’s why we started it after all…

  8. LOL, WFG.

You too, Flap. Celebratin’ fifth place :0)

  9. Today, some Wall Street executives were taken to jail in handcuff for mortgage fraud, soon some oil executives and politicians could be carted off for oil fraud. Justice for all would be a tremendous thing.

  13. Good one, ‘Mouse.

  14. FuRyUs,
Exactly, it had NOTHING to do with them blowing up two towers, the Pentagon, and a plane in a PA field. How ignorant to say that. Pathetic.

  15. Or a ship called the USS Cole.

  16. Or the Marine barracks.

  17. You are right. The entire thing was totally, completely, 100% unprovoked.

  18. ^^ The provocation came from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq.^^

    How pathetic, Sean/Karma.
