The $200 Burger

June 19th, 2008, 11:29 AM EDT

The ingredients: Wagyu beef, white truffles, Pata Negra ham slices, Cristal onion straws, Modena balsamic vinegar, lambs lettuce, pink Himalayan rock salt, organic white wine and shallot infused mayonnaise in an Iranian saffron and white truffle dusted bun.

And it’s Burger King.  For charity.

What’s the best one you ever had?

  1. yum yum!

  2. I guess that sounds like a good burger.

The best burgers in the world are The Whopper with bacon and cheese, and The Peppercorn Burger at Red Robin Restaurants.

That’s cool that it’s for charity tho. I wonder how much moola actually gets to the charity, after the food and labor costs.

  3. Burger King has the best burgers, McD’s has the best fries. BK has a better apple pie, better desserts period. I only go to McD’s for those delicious fries, then drive over to BK for a Whopper.

  4. McD has the best fries, but they used to be so much better than they are now…little did we know that they were slowly killing us then, but hey, small details…

The Whopper is the best chain burger out there though. Great now I’m hungry.

  5. McD hamburgers have grey meat…

  6. Mayonnaise on a burger?
    Oh puleeeeeze.
    That’s a Canadian thing, isn’t it?

What expensive type of gas did they cook it over?

  8. And no one’s complaining about the “Iranian saffron and white truffle dusted bun”?

    This is the Jihad Burger!

Burger King is trying to destroy America!

  9. The best burger I have ever had was my own.

  10. The best burgers in the world are The Whopper with bacon and cheese, and The Peppercorn Burger at Red Robin Restaurants.

I got horribly sick the only time I ever went to Red Robin. I went there before a NBA game one night and had to leave after throwing up at the game…..this continued for several hours after I got home.

  11. And I have to say that this burger can’t possibly be fom BK. It looks way too good.

  12. “…Iranian saffron…”
    —–

Uh-oh! How long until Michelle Malkin, Coultergeist and the Our Gang comedy kids start calling BK a tool of the jihad.

  13. No burger is worth $200 dollars even if it is for charity. If our policies were fair in the first place, we wouldn’t need the endless charity. This charity is corrupt because what goes in the system does not always come out. Ask FEMA what happened to our charity after Katrina and 9-11? Bad move Burger King! Soon a $200 dollar burger will be one with lettuce and tomato on it that won’t give you the runs.

  14. The best burger I have ever had was at Val’s in Hayward, CA.

The second best burger was filled with blue cheese.

  15. ALAN, bar none, at least for crappy fast food chain restaurants, a Hardee’s Thickburger. It’s amazingly good.

I don’t have the money to dine at five-star fancy restaurants, but even at middle-of-the-road steakhouses or restaurants I’ve not tasted a better burger.

  16. For crying out loud!

America’s contribution to world cuisine: hamburger, hot dogs and french fries!

Yuk! and none of them originally American anyway!

  17. ok seriously now, my appetite is permanently GONE!

This stupid burger does not help and it’s calories probably do not either.

  18. Just because this burger has Japanese massaged beef and french tomatoes with arabic lettuce does not make it any different from my regular whopper JR….!!!!

oh yea, I am not paying $200 ever for a burger!!!

  19. Guess what they can keep the burger, unless someone here is willing to buy one for everyone one of us?

  20. Grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo and Kraft American cheese slices, a burger grilled over charcoal, whole wheat bun, eaten with good friends around a campfire. That $200 includes a weekend of camping, 2 days of rafting and enough ice cold beer. The burger tastes every bit as good.

  21. Actually, this is a perversion of the burger, because the burger is food for the common man, but this monstrosity seems intended for the latte crowd.

Thanks but I’ll take a bacon-cheeseburger with steak fries and a dill spear on the side, and a really large bottle of ketchup, and I’ll take it all at the local greasy-spoon.

  22. “Kraft American cheese slices”

Is that the genuine artificial imitation American cheese slices?

I prefer chedder cheese, preferably the sharp kind.
On a burger, it can’t be beat.

  23. RC~ proceeds for this particular burger sale go to charity. It’s like selling dinner for $2000 a head at a fundraiser.

  24. Well yes, and my tongue is planted firmly into my cheek, though I’m still wondering what charity this is supposed to benefit.

  25. Mr. McCain: Whenever a word appears in blue that means that if you click it, it’ll take you to another page. It’s called a “Link”. The “Link” goes to an article that explains this burger is only for sale at one restaurant in London, and only on certain days. It benefits some children’s charity over there.

  26. does the burger come with cardiac/life insurance?

Im having a grabber just looking at it

  27. A link? It’s what? Something’s blue? Hey, what is this? Computers or something?

Actually the first link I followed went to Fox, and I didn’t see the charity named, but when I checked again I see a charity IS named, and I clicked on that link and got “Unable to connect to the server at clk.atdmt.com”, which might just mean there’s an ad site being called that I’ve got blocked.
