Cheney’s Cheney
That would be David Addington, who makes Cheney look like Mr. Rogers. The VP’s post-Libby Chief of Staff, obviously has contempt toward Congress and resents having to answer quesitons. First, he admonishes Congressman William Delahunt for asking him questions that al Qaeda might see him answering, as they love watch C-SPAN.

Here, Addington tells Congressman John Conyers that his (Addington’s) definiton of the unitary theory isn’t quite what Congress understands it to be.

William Delahunt is TRASHY. Why would he say something like “I hope Al Qaida is watching”. What the hell is THAT all about? We’re ALL Americans, THEY’RE the enemy. Delahunt needs to be slapped.

They’re a terrorist group for God’s sake. He hopes a terrorist group is watching a fellow American, so they can do some recon on him, find his address, and blow up his family?
Delahunt makes me SICK.

I’m more afraid of George Bush/Dick Cheney family than I am of Al Qaida.

So what if Al-Qaeda likes to watch C-SPAN?
If all Al-Qaeda has time to do is to watch our congress sit our have meetings, talk, and vote than fine. That means less time they have for other resouces like bombing us, watching FoxNews or US cable news, or or anything else.
The only concern could possible be for any terrorist group for watching C-SPAN is if a high security or sensitive material is being broadcast on that channel. Although I hope are government should not stupid enough to make that type of records freely avaiable on tv or internet sources, it is still possible. Unfortunately there have been past expereinces that records have been made avaiable that could have gotten into the wrong hands.
Am I worried? As worried as I am if they watch too much of anything thing else and if Al-Qaeda finds the right documents.

Addington claims to not know what the Unitary executive theory is?
< From FindLaw:
“congressional limits on the presidency, in turn, led “some very creative people” in the White House and the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) to fight back, in an attempt to foil or blunt these limits. In their view, these laws were legislative attempts to strip the president of his rightful powers. Prominent among those in the movement to preserve presidential power and champion the unitary executive doctrine were the founding members of the Federalist Society, nearly all of whom worked in the Nixon, Ford, and Reagan White Houses.”

Tenet of Bush White House A Debate Over Terror Tactics

In November 2000, while the nation fixated on whether George W. Bush or Al Gore would emerge victorious from the electoral confusion in Florida, Judge Samuel Alito laid out his view of what powers the future president would hold.
The Constitution “makes the president the head of the executive branch, but it does more than that,” Judge Alito said in a speech to the Federalist Society at Washington’s Mayflower Hotel. “The president has not just some executive powers, but the executive power — the whole thing.”
Judge Alito was describing the theory of the “unitary executive,” an expansive view of presidential powers that he and his colleagues set forth while working in the Office of Legal Counsel of the Reagan Justice Department. Although the Supreme Court has not always agreed, he said in his speech, “I thought then, and I still think, that this theory best captures the meaning of the Constitution’s text and structure.”
Actually, there is a TON of stuff about Unitary Executive and signing statements on the ‘Googles’
As for this nonsense about, “Shhhhh…. I can’t talk about that. al Qeada might be watching.”
al Qaeda already knows. EVERYBODY KNOWS!! THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS!!!
Everybody except the American people.
The people in this administration play the American people for suckers.
They show ABSOLUTE contempt for us AND the foundations of this country.
They would be a better fit in the old Soviet Union.

“I’m more afraid of George Bush…”
Ya, I’ll second that.
“They show ABSOLUTE contempt for us AND the foundations of this country.”
And I’ll second that, too.
It’s very odd finding myself agreeing with two separate people in a single thread.
“Why would he say something like “I hope Al Qaida is watching”.”
I think the point is that interviewing any official of the Bush regime has no point. They don’t convey any information. If it’s raining and they don’t like the rain they tell us it’s all blue skies and sunshine. And if you point to a cloud on the horizon they call you a communist.
Well, as we say in New York, “Who needs this bullshit?”
