Uh Oh! McDonald’s Likes The Gays

July 3rd, 2008, 7:52 PM EDT

And that doesn’t sit well with Donald Wildmon and the American Family Association.

“McDonald’s … has given a significant amount of money, I might mention, to become a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce,” Wildmon explains. “Among the many other things that the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce promotes is hate crimes [legislation], the ENDA [Employment Non-Discrimination Act]. [T]hey’re dedicated to pushing the homosexual agenda.”

Can you imagine that? McDonald’s believes that some crimes are borne of hate and doesn’t believe in discriminating against homosexuals! OMG! They love the gays! And get a load of this guy:

Masculine?  Who’s to say?  Mind you, the AFA doesn’t have a problem with gays working  or eating at McDonald’s.

What the boycott of McDonald’s IS NOT about

* This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals.
* It is not about homosexuals eating at McDonald’s.
* It is not about how homosexual employees are treated.

The problem is that McDonald’s doesn’t mind these people GETTING MARRIED.

What the boycott of McDonald’s IS about

It is about McDonald’s, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars. McDonald’s has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.

Think Progress has more.

  1. Can’t some people just mind their own business ..? That’s the problem with this world is that all these morons can’t seem to live their own lives without butting into others. I would tell them to take their ass and go somewhere else ..

  2. My question is is that a Queer Eye approved outfit?

  3. I boycott McDonald’s simply because it’s horrible food that’s horrible for you.

  4. Gas is over $4.00/gallon, unemployment is up, the economy is in the toilet. But forget about that. Let’s worry about the gays at McDonalds. What’s wrong with this picture?

  5. Their food is crap anyways . . I’d rather eat at In & Out Burger . . . Micky D’s sucks in my opinion . . . they don’t even serve burgers for breakfast . . .

    Great Article BTW . . .

  6. Mmmmm, two cheese burgers and a vanilla shake to go please…ah wait…since there are fewer red necks in here today, maybe I’ll take that to stay!

  7. Define redneck.

  9. I think all poor white people are assumed to be Rednecks.

Thats why I like to be called a Hillbilly, or Hillhippy either way works.

The word redneck is very tired.

  10. But the historical rednecks were the miners at Blair Mnt. West Virginia.

They used red bandanas’ tied around thier necks in order to unify and provide solidarity.

And a sidenote: That was the only time Americans have dropped bombs on other Americans.

  11. with a name like “American Family Association” they sure do dwell on negativity a lot. i would expect a little more positive encouragement from a “family values” organization instead of a “political football team”. so far all i see them doing is teaching kids to intrude on peoples personal lives. see a trend here?

  12. Ronald McDonald is a “man’s man”.

Ronald is fast food’s version of the Marlboro Man. Just imagine Ronald and the Marlboro Man on horseback in the desert American West. Tending to their free range livestock. Alone. Just the two of them.

“Ronald, I wish I could quit you”.

  13. I don’t think I have any problem with gays, lesbians, TGs and TVs, and at the same time I wouldn’t really expect the directors of McDonald’s, or any other corporation, to give a damn what anyone does as long as they’ve got greenbacks to spend.

  14. is anyone familiar with the bumper sticker that says “focus on your own damned family”? McDonald’s should send several free boxes of those stickers to the AFA.

This is just plain dumb. McD’s is a secular corporation, it’s not like they’re Chick-fil-A (a business that associates themselves with Christianity and is therefore closed on Sundays).

  15. Hate crimes is the liberal way to make some groups of people worth more than others.

If someone hates me enough to attack/kill me, shouldn’t I deserve the same respect from the law as someone that is gay?

What about all the black on black murder in cities that are under democrat control, don’t they deserve protection from the government, even if the murders aren’t “hate” crimes? I’m sure if it was white on black murders decimating the black communities the liberals would be crying out for more hate crimes, but since it’s black on black the liberal politicians turn the other way and ignore the problem.

  16. I don’t care about the whole gay issue, but McD’s food is horrible. The meat is grey. Is it beef? I think it’s kangaroo and dolphin meat…

  17. Sounds like someone doesn’t want someone else to get health care and benefits if they put special sauce on a Big Mac? If two consenting adults want to give their MacBuddy their pickle and other stuff, that’s okay by me. I just don’t want to see the food fight.
