  1. When did you marry your wife, because I’ve been under the impression that it happened a few years ago, not well before your co-hosted show began? Raboof claims your marriage as the reason you’re the C in H&C.

  2. The more liberal bildge you read the SICKER you become!
    Liberalism IS your GOD.
That which is of the earth, made of man, not that which comes from GOD.
You may be so hardened you may not be able to redeem yourself.
I will pray for you Alan.

  3. See, now THIS guy, jerrysrollin.blogspot.com, is another liberal plant, like the sons of liberty, and jury farewell!

Gotta be…They are too funny to be real!

  8. I always thought Hannity looked like one of those models you’d see in a 1982 JC Penney catalog.

(That’s not a compliment. This is now the 21st century.)

Your friends at the Daily Kos are only guilty of the same things they’re busy pointing fingers at FOX for. Sure, the first photo of Hannity caught him at one of his most natural, revealing moments (as a brownshirted Nazi with their flag in the background) but they went out of their way to find one of you (Colmes) “screeching”.

If you (Colmes) sign up for the extreme makeover thing, ask for some pants. The 3rd photo is only embarrassing. While FOX is exposing more of their female’s cleavage lately, I doubt that the demographic they’re seeking will be attracted to you dressed (or undressed) as the B/W photo #3.

But remember, as someone weighing 350lbs once told me as I weigh in at 180lbs, “what’s wrong with you boy – you’re too skinny – you sick or just not been eatin’ right.”

  11. “Stuff” like that (linked at top) is why I don’t spend a lot of time looking at a lot of blogs, because TV is more informative, and product labels are more entertaining.

  12. I disagree with most of that post a Kos. But I do agree when they say that the producers obviously slant to the right. They cut to Hannity during Alan’s segment if he makes an eye movement, but don’t do the same for Alan. Plus the topics that are covered on H&C show a bias against Obama.

  13. I read through the Huffington and Crooks-n-Liars websites often but not that much of the Daily Kos.

I used to read FreeRepublic until it occurred to me that the FBI or CIA might be recording your visits there. If I was a G-man and trolling for domestic terrorists, FreeRepublic is the first place I’d go looking for the “Tim McVeigh is my hero” lunatics.

But sometimes, reading the lefty websites/comments and thinking back to the Freepers, it’s apparent that there’s often not much distance between “left” and “right”. Both can be rigid and inflexible, unforgiving of anyone who they judge has wandered off the rez.

When everyone’s able to find something in you to be critical of, you must be doing something right.

  14. Alan:
There’s always somebody making fun of someone famous. It just means you’re well known.
Also: you are so refreshing as a talk-show host: not overly intellectual, actually funny, real, pertinent, etc. I rarely watch H&C, but faithfully listen on Sirius.

  15. Hey kossacks, we “Liberal Landers” can kick your ass in a rational argument any day. All you can do is spoon feed us the talking points that your cult leader over there tells you.

    LiberalLand FTW!

  16. I read through the Huffington and Crooks-n-Liars websites often but not that much of the Daily Kos.
    ———
Same here. While those sites tend to be a little left of LL, they don’t have the “cult quality” and complete lack of free thought of DKos. That site is nothing more than the liberal equivalent of RushLimbaugh.com, sorry.

  17. Michael, I obviously agree with a lot of Rush says but his site is more of an entertainment site. If you’re a conservative it’s fun to read.

Daily Kos is a blog and it’s very different in content and layout…an equivalent might be a popular extreme right-wing blog but I don’t read that many of them to know.

  18. Anonymous: I met and married my wife after the debut of H&C.

  19. The hell with daily kos…i got all the info and comment i need here….

    Again…LiberalLand FTW

  20. Directorpooh: Thanks for your support.

  21. Well after reading that blog on DailyKos, that is exactly what I have been saying all along on this blog.

Word for word, the blog explains every bit what I have been yelling out loud to Alan Colmes to the point of calling him a weak, sell-out fake liberal, on the GOP channel of Foxnews.

Even the thought that Colmes used smear tactics against DailyKos like the rest of the Foxnews GOP anchors like Bill Oreilly to smear DailyKos, simply for making a comment that doesn’t agree with Colmes. Accusing those liberals on DailyKos of ‘eating their young’.
That tactic is used by the Karl Rove and the Bill Oreilly smear machine until I was outraged when Colmes was using it against his own political side for critizing him for being weak.

Hey, I run the MySpace Democratic Party and i get comments everyday how i am doing this wrong and i am doing that wrong, BUT do i go around saying..
‘these liberals on my friends list are critizing me so they are eating their young!’

of course not. I aint stupid.

but 100% agree with the DailyKos.

So, don’t worry Colmes, so what if one person or a few people call you names or critize you for being weak on H&C, you should be used to it with your network hating you for being a democrat and hannity throwing pens at you on the show..
Dont worry Colmes, your still a sell-out fake liberal and you still will get your millions in the tv show and the radio show from Foxnews, a network devoted from keeping a Democrat away from the white house, with you helping every way you can by shutting up and do your job what hannity tells you to do.

  22. Louie the Liberal comes in like the heavy to enforce the ideological orthodoxy and to make sure thsoe who dare to step off the prison camp know they’re being watched… and that if folks like Alan go to far.. they better watch out.. they will be destroyed.

how anyone thinks the Left is for people who believe in individuality and clear thinking is beyond me.
They’re a bunch of insecure narcisists trapped by Groupthink.

  23. Vinnie Pee is wise and all-knowing…

  24. First, I’ll give a natural response to this- Screw those assholes.

Second, I’ll give a response that’s been tempered by my intellect- Alan, screw those assholes.

  25. LOL. I really do crack myself up. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way…

Sky is absolutely right- there will always be someone out there making fun of someone famous. I will add to that with the fact that there’s always someone making fun of SOMEONE, whether that individual is famous or not.

Receiving criticism from the opposite political party is to be expected. There are plenty of nasty comments about Hannity to be found online. PLENTY of them. The great majority of Alan’s “Hate Mail” is from conservatives. The unfortunate challenge for Alan is that he receives it from both sides of the fence. As strong as Alan is, I imagine that having members of your own team constantly bashing you can take its toll. Because liberals share the same ideals, you’d expect them to be supportive of a prominent liberal defending those ideals.

I think it’s important to remember that different people are attracted to different styles of debate and media coverage. That’s why there are so many different conservative shows. Everyone doesn’t like Hannity, so they listen to O’Reilly. If they don’t like O’Reilly, they listen to Limbaugh. Liberals who do not like Alan’s performance on H&C wouldn’t like the performance of ANY liberal on that show, bc the liberal will always have to sit next to a conservative and engage in an actual debate with their co-host and guests. A liberal- or conservative- who chooses to dictate topics and talk over their fellow host is not appropriate for a co-hosted show.

Another point I’d like to make is that FOX, like any other business, likes to make money. They gave Alan his own radio show bc he receives enough ratings to give the chance to make more money on his talent. If Alan couldn’t hold his own, he would’ve been out a long time ago. H&C is one of the top media programs on the air, Alan’s radio show is one of only two (to my knowledge) nationally syndicated liberal programs.

The last point I’d like to make ties into something I said above. I HATE listening to Stephanie Miller. Can’t stand her. But I LOVE Alan Colmes. Those who dislike Alan so much would do a greater service to the liberal cause by forgoing the petty name-calling and finding another pundit to pique their intellectual interest.

Whoa….Vince is actually right. The apocalypse must be near….

  27. They have to hit you below the belt by attacking your looks, because they know you are right and that is the only weapon they have is try to insult you.

I wish like hell I looked half as attractive to the ladies as I’m sure you do.

It’s just those self-righteous scumbags, they are useless nobodys, it’s the only route they can take, what a bunch of fools.

  28. And…….Alan cares because why? It’s just like Alan said “we need more liberals to go on Fox” I agree with Alan on this. I challenge more liberals to go on Fox and debate. Beat them at their own game. They just have to learn how to stay on the subject that they were invited on to discuss. One thing that Fox likes to do is to change the subject when you start making a point or they bring something totally irrelevant up about your past. Classic right wing strat. I’ve seen John Kerry go on and just embarrass hosts. When they tried to change the subject he told them “no, you invited me on here to talk about (X) and were going to talk about it, nothing else”

  29. I’m not so much a fan of the Kos (a few too many antisemitic rants there have turned me off), but I can’t see how that diary isn’t accurate. Say what you want about DKos and Alan sharing similar values, that may be true. The problem is that Alan comes off as incredibly weak and almost Woody Allen-like. Sometimes, getting in someone’s face is what the doctor orders, so maybe, Alan, you should grow a brass set of balls and start standing up for yourself. But again, you’re Woody Alan Colmes, so I’m not expecting that any time soon.

  30. I tend to read HuffPost, God’s Politics, Faithful Democrats, Talking Points Memo, Media Matters, Truthdig, and Glenn Greenwald. I almost never visit DKos. There’s nothing over there that really strikes me, and it can get really mean over there, with the profanity and nastiness (especially the comment sections). I am no fan of Hannity, but the picture of him as a Nazi was a bit much.

Dkos is basically the left wing version of Free Republic. Both are full of nasty, narrow-minded people who have no tolerance for those that don’t think as they do.

  31. Allison, I think you’re right. Free Republic is probably the best example of a conservative Daily Kos.

  32. My condolences Alan. I think you’re doing swell.
