Obama Fights Back Against Corsi Smears
Barack Obama’s campaign will not sit idly by while people with questionable credibility smear him. Most notably in their sights is Jerome Corsi’s book, which is getting some traction and will be number one on the New York Times best-seller list this weekend (although it should be in the fiction, not non-fiction category).
Politico runs down some of Corsi’s wild theories:
- Hillary Clinton is a lesbian
- Muslims worship Satan
- President Bush has worked to eliminate borders with Mexico and Canada
- John Kerry is a Communist
- Oil is a natural resource that generates naturally
But what should be most damning, especially to conservatives who embrace him for his anti-Obamaism, is his agreement with the 9/11 so-called “Truthers” that the government lied to us about 9/11. Quoting “Truther” Steven Jones, Corsi tells radio host Alex Jones:
“The fire, from jet fuel, does not burn hot enough to produce the physical evidence that he’s produced,” Mr. Corsi said. “So when you’ve got science that the hypothesis doesn’t explain-evidence-then the hypothesis doesn’t stand anymore. It doesn’t mean there’s a new hypothesis you’ve validated. It just means the government’s explanation of the jet fuel fire is not a sufficient explanation to explain the evidence of these spheres-these microscopic spheres-that Steven Jones has proved existed within the W.T.C. dust.”

“Hillary Clinton is a lesbian.”
What else is there to say?
The fact that anyone takes this guy Corsi seriously is an indictment not only of US education, but of our collective intellect.
And the fact that anyone gives him airtime, or print, just goes to show what publishing and the rest of the media value most.
“Oil is a natural resource that generates naturally.”
Yeah, it comes from the Bermuda Triangle. The aliens make it. And then they seed their special extra-terrestrial oil in various places all around the world and it just grows.
August 14th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
“Oil is a natural resource that generates naturally.”
Abiogenic petroleum origination. Rather than having its roots in dinosaurs, oil bubbles up from the planet’s molten interior. The “Jed Clampett” oil origination theory.
“Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin’ crude.”
“Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.”
August 14th, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Abiogenic petroleum origination is part of the curriculum taught at the Alfred E. Neuman School of Petroleum Engineering.
The school motto is, “Who, me worry?”
August 14th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
Yes, apparently it is likely that Hillarity Clitgone is A lesbian. Why else would she choose to room with those thst munch carpet while in college. This along with the fact that every one of her husband “Slick Willy” conquests had absolutely no resembelance to his wife. She tolerated his antics because seeminggly she was surrounded with bushy armpit, hairy legged, hornrimmed glassed, Birkenstock wearing impressionable college age “girls”.
August 14th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Let us not forget one “smear” omitted by Corsi. That is that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is a “NIGGER”, if the spokesperson for “black America” “Rev?” Jesse (The Philanderer) Jackson, a “Man of God” said it, it must be true.
August 14th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Are you sure bushy armpits, hairy legs, horn-rimmed glasses and Birkenstock wearing impressionable college age “girls” are not part of your fantasies Suntan? You seem rather specific in your descriptions!?!? I can almost envision a “singles” ad.
August 14th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
I only reference what I can see and and as I have watched a substantial amount of election coverage on all networks including CSPAN I have observed those like I’ve described “attached” to Hillarity Clitgone by the hip and toting her water and speeches. Some gaze at her adoringly others seem to transfixed by her “beauty” (brawn).
August 14th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Hello Allan ! I’ve been listening to you for a while and loved your shows except for the nation wide ignorant people that call you every night…They couldn’t speak a proper English. I find them so impolite and vulgar full of hate for you and all the liberals, but…I love the way you handle them.
August 14th, 2008 at 11:49 pm
If corsi has been wrong on soooo many things, the odds are he’s finally right about something. Maybe he’s right about obama. Or it could be about oil. Or the moon is made up of green cheese, which explains why we haven’t been back in 40 years.
Hey suntan, horsesass.org, a left-wingnut blog could use your words of wisdom. Check it out.
August 15th, 2008 at 12:04 am
So because Corsi is not a liberal democrat, he is not allowed to have an opinion, according to you liberals…
the namecalling at Hillary Clinton is not appropriate; Muslims? well the teaching of islam is clearly something that represents what Christianity calls Satanic, there is no doubt about this one, its not a maybe or possibly, it is. But Corsi is wrong by suggesting all Muslims worship Satan;
Because of islam being forced upon everyone with death as a possible penalty for refusing? many people would be “Muslims” but not by their choice. So I say that many Muslims in this group who are forced into it do not agree with the fanatical types; the normal/moderate Muslims look at who they believe God to be and worship Him.
but islamic teaching promotes what Judao Christian teaching says is Satanic; and clearly the fanatic Muslims act it out
If Corsi said this accurately it would be rock solid; Corsi is of course wrong about the NAU
If Corsi says 9/11 was an inside job like Rosie O??
then the left’s smear machine would have been effective. of course Im not reading about answers to the questions, only a smear job against Corsi
August 15th, 2008 at 12:29 am
How come the Obama campaign isn’t putting out contradictions on David Freddoso’s book?
August 15th, 2008 at 12:53 am
Gotta love all the free press Fox News is giving Corsi.
Alan, are you honestly just Hannity’s bitch? I mean, it’s getting pathetic. It’s obvious at this point that Hannity controls the guest list and the topics on H&C. Hence the non-stop “CORSI ANTI-OBAMA” segments. Any segments on John McCain’s extra-marital affairs? Any segments on McCain’s corrupt lobbyist connections?
Nope. This is Fox News. In the tank for John McCain, 24/7.

It’s just surprising that in the 21st century there are people in America who believe Barack is a muslim, or call into question his integrity, veracity, or willingness to serve American interests.
His entire life is an open book. His decisions, choices, and impact on those around him is readily available.
Barack Obama is an American politician who has dedicated his whole life to working hard, helping people find jobs, feed families, and work together.
He’s not perfect. He’s not always right. But he’s no mystery.
The true mystery is just how nescient we are allowing ourselves to delve.
August 15th, 2008 at 1:22 am
I say again, how come the Obama campaign isn’t putting out contradictions on David Freddoso’s book?
August 15th, 2008 at 1:33 am
“Let us not forget one “smear” omitted by Corsi…”
Hey suntan, how much are you getting paid to write silly stuff like this, and where do I sign up for some o’ that easy money?
LV: just based on the page at Amazon I’d take a wild guess and suggest it’s got something to do with the book being published by a small press, and the editorial review makes it sound like the book is rehashing all the things we’ve already heard ten thousand times. (And the first reader review at Amazon goes on for a few thousand words comparing Barack to Castro, which I’m not really interested in reading.)
August 15th, 2008 at 2:35 am
“So because Corsi is not a liberal democrat, he is not allowed to have an opinion, according to you liberals.”
Absolutely not. Corsi has every right to say any damn thing he wants, no matter how far into the make-believe he may care to delve. I’m only surprised he hasn’t yet alleged that Barack is the off-spring of space aliens.
Personally, I don’t think a guy with a PhD from Harvard could actually believe any of this bunk, so I presume his intention is simply to contribute to the buzz of nonsense being propagated by the right.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:44 am
Noel, you wrote: “Barack Obama is an American politician who has dedicated his whole life to working hard, helping people find jobs, feed families, and work together.
He’s not perfect. He’s not always right. But he’s no mystery, he’s one mean mother watch your mouth! But I’m talkin about Shaft! then I can dig it.
The true mystery is just how nescient we are allowing ourselves to delve.”
But what is lacking is integrity, honesty, ethics; And Im pretty sure there is no such word as nescient. its just not used
August 15th, 2008 at 3:06 am
ad hominem fallacy
August 15th, 2008 at 5:19 am
“But what is lacking is integrity, honesty, ethics; ”
………………………………………
Integrity, honesty, and ethics WOULD be a refreshing change.
That’s why I’ll take my chances with Obama…..
If he proves no better, at least we tried.
August 15th, 2008 at 7:42 am
Well, I care about this country, so I do care about Corsi’s “opinion” being backed up by lies, half-truths, and misrepresentations so that he makes his “opinion” seem more like “fact.”
Because I care about America, I am alarmed by the pitiful Republican tactic to confuse “fact” and “opinion” to keep their sheep in the dark.
With such pathological lying, such assertions that lies are “fact” (from Obama’s religion, to WMD, to flags on the plane, to Fallujah’s KFC, ad nauseum), and such selective listening, do Republican even know what truth is these days?
I need to clarify, not all Republicans are like this, thank god. That’s why McCain was nominated in the first place. He was more moderate (”was” being the operative word, unfortunately).
August 15th, 2008 at 10:53 am
Well there is a word “nescient,” which comes to us from latin, and if nescience were less of a problem in our society then more of us might be familiar with it.
August 15th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Whether he likes it or not Barack HUSSEIN Obama is a MUSLIM. As was the father so is the “offspring” according to “Islamic Law”. Barack HUSSEIN is under the sentence of death by those of “his faith” if he ever decides to convert. For those who believe otherwise just when did he convert, and if he did so why has he chosen to join and ally hisself(sic) with outright bigots, racists and America Haters like “Rev?” Jeremiah Wrong, “Father” Phlegm and “Rev” Louis “I Hate All Whiteys” Farrahkan. I’ll tell you why, because the aforementioned trio share the same “ideals” as those of the “MUSLIM” faith and want to destroy “our” great nation while imposing SHARIYA LAW on it’s citizens. I’m sure if elected Barack HUSSEIN Obama will install on every public building speakers to announce the call to daily prayer 5 times a day nad require all women to attired in burkas.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
I’m sure if elected Barack HUSSEIN Obama will also order installed in every public restroom across this great country foot baths so those of his faith can clean their feet before rocking back and forth like some autistic child and pray to “their” God. When this happens I will routinely use these “fixtures” as urinals as I have when exposed to them already.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Obama was never a Moslem, his father was an Atheist. He was exposed to several differing religions during his youth and chose to become a Christian; being babtized about 20 years ago.
Claiming he’s Moslem is a smear designed to generate fear in the gullible public.
The wacky right wouldn’t know the truth if they tripped over it.
THE TRUTH is what ever THEY want it to be.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Jerome Corsi is a pathological liar. That is not my opinion. That is FACT.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Corsi is a vile person who doesn’t deserve to be listened to. Even accepting the premise that he might be correct about somethings which pertain to Obama, such “facts” should be ignored if they come from his manure spewing mouth.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
I don’t need Obama to defend directly against Corsi, as I’m not listening to him anyway.
August 15th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Btw, I am aware of the fallacy of attacking the messenger, but I don’t care.
August 15th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
After reading some of suntan’s posts I’m beginning to wonder if he is really Hannity’s pal Hal Turner.
I fail to see how America can ever be considered “The Greates Nation on Earth” as long as you have tools like this guy running loose.
.
.
Peace.
.
August 15th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
“Whether he likes it or not Barack HUSSEIN Obama is a MUSLIM.”
Arf! Arf! Arf-Arf!
“I’ll tell you why, because the aforementioned trio share the same “ideals” as those of the “MUSLIM” faith and want to destroy “our” great nation while imposing SHARIYA LAW on it’s citizens.”
Grrrr! Grrrr! Grrr-Grrr!
“I’m sure if elected Barack HUSSEIN Obama will install on every public building speakers to announce the call to daily prayer 5 times a day nad require all women to attired in burkas.”
Woof-woof! Grrrr! Arf-Arf!
August 15th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
Rocky the BS-sniffing Rottweiler must be one of those “low information voters” we here so much about!
Actually, Bush is in bed with so many supporters of radical Islam, I’m suprised HE did not put up the speakers to announce the call to daily prayer.
But, don’t let the facts get in the way:
Like Republican pollster Frank Luntz said, “A compelling story, even if factually inaccurate, can be more emotionally compelling than a dry recitation of the truth.”
August 15th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Im telling you, nescient is just not a real word, and I know more words than most people.
And what is this about the democrat left being honest? since when? the left and the ‘no wmd’ lie when clearly Irak had and still does have wmd’s there?
the lie that Bush lied? when he didnt is a double lie and in fact it should be where Bush was accused but didnt lie so he gets credit and can tell one lie if he wants to. but he still doesnt use the free lie credit(s) so that means Bush is doubly honest. So accusing him of lying when he is doubly honest means he has 4 times more honesty and can lie 4 times for free; but he doesnt so he is then 8 then 16, 32, 64, 128, 256… et seq
This means mathmatically GW Bush is one of the most honest people in history. you can argue with me but you cant argue with the numbers, math that is. Math is science and the science is proven and closed
August 16th, 2008 at 12:26 am
nes·cient (nes̸h′ənt, -ē ənt)
adjective
lacking knowledge; ignorant
agnostic
Etymology: L nesciens, prp. of nescire, to be ignorant of: see nice
August 16th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Iraq has WMD’s? Prove it, Bradley.
Of course you can’t and by your statement that Bush is one of the most honest people in history indicates to me that you’ll believe anything this administration says.
August 16th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Once Cheney signed on in 2000, those who were onto the PNAC, predicted they would lie about Iraq.
When I first heard of the PNAC, I wasn’t sure it was even real, until I went to their site, and said, “Oh my GOD, They are going to ignore 9/11 and REALLy go into Iraq.
From the PNAC:
Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources For a New Century (2000),
Pp.51
“Futher, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor.”
Paul Wolfowitz
Vanity Fair interview
May 28, 2003
“For bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction (as justification for invading Iraq) because it was the one reason everyone could agree on”.
Donald Rumsfeld
ABC Interview
March 30, 2003
We know where they are. They’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.
On CNN:
, Bush saying that Sadaam won’t let the inspectors in, WHILE the inspectors were bulldozing al-Samood missiles.
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, Powell’s chief of staff, and Powell himself later lamented that they had not been warned about Curveball. And McLaughlin told the Washington Post in 2006, “If someone had made these doubts clear to me, I would not have permitted the reporting to be used in Secretary Powell’s speech.” But, in fact, their caution was ignored.
They LOVED Sadaam till he got uppity, and started trading in euros.
August 16th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Does anyone see it strange that the obama campaign is coming out with pages and pages of rebuttal to corsi’s book which only the far-right would believe while ignoring David Freddoso’s The Case against Barack Obama? David’s book doesn’t talk about paris hilton, religion or race. Yet it’s full of facts with all the footnotes.
David’s book is #12 at amazon, #1 in political books at amazon.
My prediction… Obama will say we already responded to a smear book (corsi’s) and don’t need to respond to any others.
August 17th, 2008 at 12:38 am
Iraq has WMD’s? Prove it, Bradley.
Of course you can’t and by your statement
TDro, let me start by saying the mantra “no wmd’s” was started by a traitor, a former weapons inspector named Scott Ritter (sp) who defected from the USA to kiss Saddams ring and vow allegiance to him. So the no wmd claim itself was fermented in lies by a traitor so that should make you or anyone else take caution when propagating such a disgusting anti American lie.
Far left propaganda says Rumsfeld sold wmd’s to Saddam back in the 1980s while Iran and Irak were fighting.
Its an extablished fact that Saddam ordered the use of chemical weapons, wmd’s, on civilians in Northern Irak, and its also absolute that after the first gulf war, various nations all volunteered to clean up the wmd stockpiles, remember that?? that was the early 1990s, over 15 years ago, few people were paying attention to the news back then, and fewer here had been weaned off baby food at the time so it doesnt suprise me you never knew this.
So taking these absolute facts into the mid 1990s when Clinton AND Gore said Irak had wmd’s and its a threat to global security if they can produce more, unchecked.
So into the late 1990s, Irak had wmd’s and the world knew it.
The only time in question then is from late 1998 when the inspectors left Irak when Saddam would not let them inspect? until December 2002, a total of 4 years.
Thats the only time in question, from 1998 to 2002, did Irak still have wmd’s?
Clinton thought so, he bombed the infamous aspirin factory to stop Saddam from making more wmd’s and it was a failure, there was no ground invasion. Arabs sued the US govt over it and won.
When GW Bush took office it was still a threat, after 9/11 there was a zero tolerance on nations claiming to have or harbor terrorists. here’s where it gets interesting, the liberal left took and takes the side of terrorists saying there are none wanting to attack the USA, and terrorists are nice people, we liberals believe everything they say, over the sitting US President! it dont get more antiAmerican than that.
So what GW did was push for UN resolution 1441 saying the world needs proof that the wmd’s that existed, and the wmd programs are stopped and all wmd’s are accounted for. just prove your word Irak, you claim not to have any secret wmd programs? you claim to have destroyed ALL wmd’s you had? so we need a full and complete accounting… that was UNR1441
the penalty was serious consequences for lack of compliance. every effort was made to help Irak prove they didnt have wmd’s and to help them prove they stopped their wmd programs and didnt have designs on a nukeular bomb. it was fair and even went too far to let Irak take their time.
December 2002 came and Irak presented a table of books of the ‘proof’. remember that? no. the books were a bunch of junk papers thrown into binders with a title like full and complete accounting of all wmd weapons programs. the lying liars in Saddams govt said here it is, you aksed for proof and its all there.
Now the liberal left said ok we believe you, we wont even insult you by looking in the books to see if they are correct we will take it all at face value…
the facts were no compliance at all.
since the Mission Accomplished moment, there have been lying liar inspectors covering up the evidence of wmd’s that did make news every once in a while;
its a political game, if the liberal left can pretend “no wmd’s in Irak” then they can use this (lie) as political fuel to elect their people.
So right from there, the liberal left is given the burden of being honest and patriotic and admitting Irak had wmd’s and invading was the correct action; OR for the liberal left to do what comes naturally to them and lie for political gain.
So then its bizzarre when the liberal left says Bush lied, or it was an illegal war? It seems that such talk by the far left is dementia, having forced the belief of a lie for so long it sprouts delusions which are also treated as real.
Demented fools like Bugliosi who demand Bush be tried and convicted of murder and sentenced to what? Bugliosi would be imprisoned in most any other country for not only the statements
August 17th, 2008 at 12:44 am
What a load of demented dog poo!
August 17th, 2008 at 2:47 am
Why didn’t Bush run on a campaign of ‘Vote for me, and I will go to war with Iraq and take down Sadaam’?
Instead of saying:
“Let me tell you what else I’m worried about: I’m worried about an opponent who uses nation building and the military in the same sentence. See, our view of the military is for our military to be properly prepared to fight and win war and, therefore, prevent war from happening in the first place.”
At that time, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest of the PNACers were planning the invasion of Iraq.
WMD:
What do you say to those who said from the beginning, that there were no wmd, that they were LYING?
El Baradei, and Hans Blix, said no wmd.
The Germans warned about Curveball.
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, Powell’s chief of staff, and Powell himself later lamented that they had not been warned about Curveball.
From an interview with Former Sen Bob Graham:
Q. [That second, public, version of the intelligence report, called the "white paper," how was that version put together?] …
A. Well, The Washington Post reported subsequent to all of this that in the late spring of 2002, the White House had called down a number of CIA professionals and told them that they wanted a document which could be used to convince the American people that the threat from Iraq was sufficiently serious that that should be our first priority. So beginning in April or May, the CIA started to put together such a document. … That was what we got as the public version of their conditional, nuanced-with-dissent classified version.
Q. What does it say to you?
A. Well, it says to me that the decision had been made that we’re going to go to war with Iraq; all of this other [talk] was just window dressing, and that the intelligence community was being used as almost a public relations operation to validate the war against Saddam Hussein. …
The Downing Street Memo
And then the Kay and Duelfer reports
Actually, I think the evidence that they lied is pretty overwhelming.
Why do I feel that if this were a Democratic administration, that there would ALREADY have been a prosecutor following Vincent Bugliosi”s suggestions?
