That’s a matter of opinion.
Many believe that the fetus, and in the MAJORITY of cases an embryo or blastocyst is not a person, therefore not murder, but the ONLY military actions that have been in self defense were the revolutionary war, civil war, WW11, possibly Afganistan.
The rest have been to open markets for multi-national corporations.
Again, the old,’if you can only save one’,would there even be a question between the baby in the stroller, and the petri dish?
That is why I see the civilian deaths as MUCH more immoral.
I think most of you are sore because he’s been successful and you’ve not. Why should anyone really care how many houses McCain has. Only a socialist bigot would begrudge someone for becoming successful. Bigot because your play the rich off the poor or vise versa.
As for McCain cheating on his first wife – at least he can admit it. Something I can’t remember a Dem do.
Truth2Power posed the following question: “I find it interesting that you see aborting a fetus as murder, but you see killing civilians in war as collateral damage.”
The obvious answer is one is intentional and the other is not.
Another thing liberals just can’t get a grasp of is that resources are not as finite as they appear. Honestly answer the following questions: How long would the projected world oil reserves last in 1970? How about 1900?
Everyone assumes it’s the evil oil companies who are driving up the cost of oil and making obscene profits. O contraire, the price of oil is set by traders who are influenced by politics and conflict. Truth is that cost to extract oil 10 miles under the earth costs less than 69 ft. oil did in 1859 and about the same as one mile oil did two decades ago.
But by all means, don’t vote for Obama!
He might be a radical, scary, marxist, Muslem, Christian who isn’t 100% certain that HE knows the ABSOLUTE truth about the world’s great mysteries.
And the Negro’s name

But it ain’t him to blame

Actually, it’s just payback for all the shit the republican threw at John Kerry when he was running for president.
Kewl. Props for being honest about it.
T2P, I’m Lutheran, so the 8th commandment for us (and Catholics) is “Do Not Bear False Witness.” You must come from one of those newer-fangled protestant offshoots that calls it “Do not steal.”
Actually, I googled it. I’m not religious.
I find it interesting that you see aborting a fetus as murder, but you see killing civilians in war as collateral damage.
The same reason if you are driving down the street, your tire blows and you crash into a crowd of people killing someone. I wouldn’t call you a killer. The death of the person you hit wasn’t intentional. Doesn’t make the loss of life any easier for their survivors, but there is a difference.
Do civilians die in every war, of course. Sucks, but it’s reality.
And the difference with abortion is if a woman used her “choice” before having unprotected sex, abortions could be avoided. And please, don’t embarrass yourself and try to say that rape/incest victims make up the bulk of abortions. The facts don’t agree with you.
I also see the disconnect between Christians who are pro-life and championing munitions factories and “gun rights,” too.
Well, gun rights are protected by the constitution. Does that bother you, would you like guns banned?
McCain did more than divorce his wife and marry a rich lady. He cheated on his first wife, by his own admission, dated Cindy Hensley (now McCain) while he was married, and then a year later divorced his disfigured wife and married Cindy. Do I blame him? Nah.
If you don’t blame him why does it bother you? There is an intellectual disconnect there.
But then I no longer ID myself as a Republican b/c I can’t stand the infiltration of the Religious Right.
Your choice. If your fears of the religious right were correct, you wouldn’t have that choice. Wasn’t that what democrats were so fearful of before bush was elected in 2000? Didn’t happen did it?
Since you’re with the party of the Religious Right, I should think this would bother you, though.
Why would it bother me. It’s not a crime to cheat or get divorced. You seem to have a big problem with it.
I love the lack of moral dilemma among today’s Christians in the Republican Party.
What moral dilemma? People get divorced every day. Maybe the people you appear to hate have more tolerance in them than you know.
Of course McCain doesn’t care. He’s loaded.
The class envy thing rears its head again.
And you don’t think resources are limited, and there’s a growing difference between the haves and have-nots?
And what is that difference? Self-reliance or waiting for someone to do for you?
Resources (meaning $$) are limited but rich people spend money too. All someone has to do is provide a good or service that is wanted and they will be rich. Are sports stars not becoming rich, should we say that short fat old white men should be paid millions to play basketball? Or some tone-deaf singer have a hit record? How many college educated adults aren’t making a good living. And when I say college educated, educated in something that is in demand. A masters degree in philosophy isn’t the path to a high paying job compared to doctor, business major, etc.
And ask anyone who’s survived Carl Icahn. That “Have” has created a whole bunch of “Have-Nots” over the years.
How did Carl create a have-not, steal his money? Force him to do something?
Of course someone like you NEVER mentions george soros. I wonder why. Hell, you’ve mentioned how rich mcsame is but never once mentioned the wealth of any democrat.

Two houses in Coronado? I’m guessing rentals.
Maybe the better question would be how many houses does he live in.
August 21st, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Isn’t it alright for McCain to have multiple homes? Isn’t it fine for someone who earns their own living to spend their money any way they see fit?
I guess I should already know the answer that will come from your liberal mouths-everyone should keep just what they need to survive, and the rest should be siphoned off to give to you lazy bums!
Why don’t you all just go get real jobs?
August 21st, 2008 at 9:08 pm
The issue is not that he has seven homes – it’s that he was unable to answer the freaking question! “How many homes do you have?” is not a hard question people! Yet, more proof of my suspected early Dementia diagnosis! My god, we have already had one Dementia stricken president in the White House, do we really want another? No disrespect to Dementia patients (or Ronald Reagan), but there was many rumors that Reagan was suffering from Dementia much earlier than reported (including during the end of his term).

No, you can’t be serious! Do you really think that raising your voice and acting so “shocked” that you can really divert attention away from the truth??? Alan, you scare me, and when I listen to you I feel very unsafe. You are a willing accomplice to murder. Yes, Alan, MURDER! These are BABIES and they have the right to live. How can you be so cold hearted and cruel!!!! I feel sick listening to you defend Obama’s position. He doesn’t want the womens ” Right to choose” to be interfered with under any circumstances,ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!, and that’s a fact. He will go so far as to vote that nothing will prevent a womens right to choose to abort even if a baby is born alive after the abortion. OMG…., OMG… Alan. God help you, really, and those like you and I hope you never have to make that choice yourself.

Hey everyone….if you have 8 homes you have to have servants to clean them right….here is the McCain staff to clean those 8 houses…
The McCains increased their budget for household employees from $184,000 in 2006 to $273,000 in 2007, according to John McCain’s tax returns.
The additional cash supports an “increase in the number of employees,” the McCain aide told Politico. The aide did not answer a question about whether the growing staff stemmed from addition of new properties to the family’s real estate portfolio.

Good job Sen. McDraft you just ended Mit Romney’s VP chances….can’t wait to see how many homes he has, combined that would be about 20. Maybe Romney could sell them all by next Friday…should be easy since we are in a mental recession, you bunch of whiners.
August 22nd, 2008 at 12:04 am
This is really a nonissue and will backfire into class envy. Every pundit like Alan’s colleague who celebrates the day Simon Wiesenthal died every year (ironically they have almost the same birthday) are pointing out accurately that Al Gore, John Kerry, Barbara Boxer, and who could forget Ted Kennedy aren’t exactly living in shanties made out of corrugated cardboard. And Nancy Pelosi is the richest person in the House of Representatives.
This is fun to talk about temporarily but if this is all Obama can do to stretch out the dialogue before his vice presidential pick its going to bite him in the ass as looking too desperate. The sharks were waiting, they spent the whole three months when Clinton and Obama were tangling taking notes and writing a game plan for evasive attacks. The Rezko angle was a warning shot, I know those crooks STILL have some nuclear option up their sleeves.
August 22nd, 2008 at 12:05 am
I agree that the issue isn’t how many homes he has, but that he doesn’t KNOW how many he has. He couldn’t even come up with a figure.
Honestly, I worry about his age.

Cheryl:
The Obama ad is not attacking for him not knowing, and in all honesty it was more of an issue for McCain whether he was the legal owner of the property or not. However instead it appears to be a mean spirited criticism of ownership and is opening all sorts of Pandora’s boxes, the only thing it might accomplish would possibly blocking a Romney vice presidency.
August 22nd, 2008 at 1:05 am
If I was an Arizona voter, the first question I’d ask of the McCains is “do you people ever spend any time in Arizona?”
It appears the McCains are big fans of the SoCal beach life. You know, there are some watery spots in Arizona. You’re too good for Lakes Mead/Powell?
August 22nd, 2008 at 1:12 am
I’m sick and tired of McPain-in-the-ass-hole…McGrampa needs to set up camp in the nearest old folks home instead of the White House!

I was going to post something, but then based on that last response in the thread here, thought there is nothing to say, its such stupidity that its not worth arguing about.
making a big deal of this issue shows how desparate you liberals are, maybe McCain can be put up for impeachment over this not knowing how many houses he has.
but its not worth saying anything so I wont

Are you an American? I thought media was suppose to be bias when it came to politics. I am a proud American Army Veteran. You are so hateful towards Senator McCain and are giving Barack Hussein Obama a free ride. I always enjoyed Fox News because of the fairness. You are so out of line. Would you die for this country? I would without thinking twice. I now have Multiple Sclerosis and am still trying to re-enlist in the Military. I am not a Republican or Democrat, I AM AN AMERICAN. What does Senator McCain’s homes have to do with anything. You want to play unfair, how about Obama who bought his home from a crook for below market value. Would kill blotched abortions. He doesn’t honor his white heritage,he avoids it at all cost. Obama fumbles his words through his speeches. I’m tired of him calling me an ordinary person. Obama is so fake and UNAMERICAN. McCain is far from perfect, but McCain loves this country and the people in it. He has committed his whole adult life to the United States of America. He is a true American Hero. What and Who is Barack Hussein Obama?

Another backfire for the obama campaign. Now mcsame can remind people about the connection between obama and rezko.
And as it turns out, the houses don’t belong to mcsame, they belong to his wife.
Strange, the party that allegedly stands up for women’s rights (although that got debunked during clinton and his “bimbo” eruption) is trying to denigrate mcsame’s wife for owning multiple houses. Who will the democrats attack next for being wealthy, pelosi? Oops, it’s only evil when right-leaners have $$.
August 22nd, 2008 at 10:23 am
“And as it turns out, the houses don’t belong to mcsame, they belong to his wife.”
And THAT’S the republican way – divorce your first wife so you can marry your second wife’s money. Gotta love those conservative values.

If I remember correctly, wasn’t McBush that was pointing the finger at Obama for been rich and elitist? … Rignt! Yeah, he was whining about it, then he ended up been ask the same..oppsss!!! To top it off, he can’t even remember!!!!
There’s the age factor, then McSame has way more than any middle class who’s living in campers or even their own car cause loss of houses…And the cherry on da sundae, McBlind says the economy is just fine and yes very strong. LOLOL…
Repubs, wake the hell up…can’t you see what’s coming with McWar? Are you that blind? ….
I rather have an inexperienced guy with good ideas and solutions then a senile “Know it all” warmonger with nasty ideas and catering to the rich, forget the poor!!

Jani is correct. The ad and Obama’s supporters, I just saw some idiot congreesman on TV, are attempting to say that if you’re wealthy and own more than one house you can’t “relate” to the average person. I guess that Ted Kennedy, the so-called champion of the poor, fits that description too. LOL These Obamabots are idiots.
August 22nd, 2008 at 11:27 am
Donna L., I’ll just use your logic. If you voted for Bush in 2000 and 04, and if you vote for McCain in ‘08, you’re just as much a murderer as any abortionist. Only you want to lay down American lives for Muslim ones.
WWC, good point. Wonder if McCain pays taxes on all his additional help he has to hire for his many houses? Wonder if they’re all documented and legal?
Sgt. MAC, maybe you can answer the Q. that Bradley crapped out on:
You seem to prefer breaking the 8th Commandment by trying to portray a Christian American as a muslim. But religion aside, aren’t we waging a war in Iraq to BENEFIT Muslims? This is the message I keep hearing from war-mongers:
“Why doesn’t MSM report the progress? We’re doing so much good work, and making so much progress over there for those MUSLIMS. We Republicans just can’t understand why those weenie Democrats and awful Liberals would begrudge democracy to those MUSLIMS. Let’s spend billions more on schools, hospitals and factories for those MUSLIMS. It’s really important to help safeguard these MUSLIMS who might be our friends, against other FUNDAMENTALIST (gee fundamentalism’s a bad thing?) MUSLIMS who seek to destroy the U.S.”
Let me see if I get this straight:
If they’re Muslims that hate our guts, they’re GREAT! They’re A-OK in your book. Let’s lay down our proud-to-be-American lives for Anti-American Muslims in Iraq!
But if it’s an American Christian with a muslim-sounding last name, OMG! Let’s run screaming meemies and start throwing dirt!

If you voted for Bush in 2000 and 04, and if you vote for McCain in ‘08, you’re just as much a murderer as any abortionist.
In your mind there is no difference between a war and abortion?
Wonder if McCain pays taxes on all his additional help he has to hire for his many houses? Wonder if they’re all documented and legal?
Of course. If he didn’t it would be all over dailykos and the other left-wingnut websites. The only “dirt” they have on mcsame is he divorced his wife years ago and his current wife owns a few properties. The difference between mcsame and obama? Mcsame doesn’t begrudge people that earn money and own properties. Obama believes the opposite, that by YOU having means someone else can’t.
“Why doesn’t MSM report the progress? We’re doing so much good work, and making so much progress over there for those MUSLIMS.
Simple. Reporting the good stuff makes bush look good. That’s against every principle liberals believe in.
You seem to prefer breaking the 8th Commandment by trying to portray a Christian American as a muslim
Do you mean the 8th commandment “do not steal?”
Maybe you shouldn’t copy and paste your left-wing talking points without using your common sense. If you don’t have enough common sense, just google it.
August 22nd, 2008 at 11:58 am
Yeah I’m Canadian Truth2Power. So I can be objective about how much bullshit the 2 candidates throw at people of America. And I can safely say that McCain is the freaking Champion at that event!!!
Both says or do or work their way to be elected, true enough, but I prefer the less inclined to bullshit then the Master of bullshit, (McBush)!!!
It’s freaking clear as day how much crap comes from the GOP…But why worrying ..McCain said the economy is fine. Can’t wait for the next debate between those 2.
I know why McCain has so many houses at his disposal…he got so many skeletons that he need many closets. 8)
