The United States Secret Service has dispatched a protective detail to assume the immediate protection of Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., a source tells ABC News, indicating in all likelihood that Biden has been officially notified that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, has selected him to be his running mate.

I wouldn’t wipe my boot off with a ballot for a democrat, but gotta tell you always have liked Joe Biden since the Clarence Thomas hearings. Like a guy who doesn’t mince words and says what he feels.
Why Joe Biden? He’s simply the best politician available absent of an enormous ego. Democrats are a divided party based on gender and nostalgia. Some of us long for a Clinton White House without the sex scandal. We thought we could get one with Hillary, but that’s not true. We need to move beyond this shameful event. You can’t drop trow and pray that America forgives and forgets. The act is polarizing. Hillary has been given a chance to establish a record of service without Bill. Can Hillary be the Champion that 18 Million people thought she could be? Will Hillary become the next “John McCain?” Where will she stand and be judged? We can’t judge McCain because he is taking stances that make him look like something that he wouldn’t recognize. Obama-Biden is an invitation for all races and all genders to participate. It’s a once in a lifetime historic event. Way to go Obama! Be for women and they will be for you.
