Karl Rove Still Not Convinced That Michelle Obama Loves America
In spite of an emotional, eloquent, and empassioned speech by Michelle Obama, Karl Rove doesn’t think she convinced America that she loves her country.
Transcript via Think Progress.
I know firsthand from their lives – and mine – that the American dream endures. [...]
I stand here today at the crosscurrents of that history – knowing that my piece of the American dream is a blessing hard won by those who came before me. [...]
That is the thread that connects our hearts. That is the thread that runs through my journey and Barack’s journey and so many other improbable journeys that have brought us here tonight, where the current of history meets this new tide of hope. That is why I love this country.
Rove: “I don’t think she did too well on saying, ‘I love America.’ I mean, that wasn’t adequate enough…When she got to talking about him as a community organizer…it was a very liberal litany of things in the speech and a very liberal description of what he was all about as a community organizer. You know, I though it was a call for a union organizing drive or I’d be encouraged to join the peoples’ working brigade…
“And finally she utterly failed to help people understand what it would be like as a first couple…I didn’t get a sense of the connectednes of the two of them…You’ve got a very sort of businesslike relationship. I didn’t get a sense of deep warmth there.
“It struck me they were forced by the political necessities to do things like embellishing their resumes. She talked about he fought for veterans like he fought for veterans returning home to get good jobs and good benefits. I don’t think the American people have the sense that over the course of the last 17 months that they’ve seen Barack Obama as a legislator fighting on behalf of a piece legislation that he put his name and his brand on.”

She’d have to wave the flag in Roves face and suddenly become white before he belives she loves America enough.
Of become a Republican; that might do it.

well i hope they make Michelle Obama out to be the enemy. They did that with Hillary Clinton, and Bill won the white house 2 terms..
so if they try to pull that crap again, we will all know what will happen with Obama. a 2 term president!

WHY IS FOXNEWS LABELING TOM DELAY AS A DEMOCRAT???
“But Edwards is a survivor. Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, D-Texas, tried to marginalize Edwards’ electability when he redrew the state’s congressional boundaries several years ago. DeLay infused more GOP voters into Edwards’ territory. But the congressman held on.”

WHEN MARK FOLEY SCANDAL HIT, FOXNEWS ALSO LABELED FOLEY AS A DEMOCRAT!!
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=3570
FOXNEWS LABELS JOE LIEBERMAN A DEMOCRAT TO MAKE IT SEEM THAT A DEMOCRAT IS SUPPORTING MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT!
http://www.newshounds.us/2007/06/11/fox_news_goofs_again_or_was_it_deliberate_labels_joe_lieberman_a_democrat.php
Jettisoning yet another GOP loser. Before we know it, W will be a (D).
And colmes has the nerve to say that foxnews is bias and democrats should come on the network?
WHAT A JOKE!
August 26th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Who listens to Turdblossom anyway. He’s a washed up has-been who couldn’t land a decent job so he’s now trashing on Fox “News”.
Also, Tom DeLay is a disgrace to the republican party, which is why they labeled him a democrat. Hell, he’s a disgrace to the human race.
They did the same thing with Mark Foley. They were constantly labeling him a democrat in the chryon.
Next up: Turdblossom will be caught in a whorehouse and the chryon on Fox will read, “Karl Rove(D)”.
August 26th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Does ANYONE in this country think that Karl Rove loves America?
He has shown NOTHING but contempt for this America and her people.
August 26th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Isn’t this like Cindy Sheehan, or Michael Moore saying that they don’t think Cindy McCain loves America?
August 26th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
Ooo, I want to try on this Republican attitude, just for fun:
Did you see Cindy McCain’s mascara the other day? It was clumpy! Clearly, she does not love America.
(sheesh)
August 26th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
She read from a piece of paper that someone else wrote for her!! When she speaks from her heart and uses her own words, she says that she is finally proud of her country for the first time and that we are all really mean. So of course she doesn’t mean it. It’s all entertainment. A broadway show. Anyone could tell it was all a show.
August 26th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
When Michelle loses the hate and anger look from her eyes when she speaks about America, then it’ll be obvious she loves this country.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Rove isn’t saying what he thinks. He’s saying what he wants all of us to think. And why should I listen to him? His band of elitists isn’t going to put more money in my pocket. He’ll say I’ll be better off, but he doesn’t really believe that either.
“…that wasn’t adequate enough…”
Unfortunately, this kind of misuse isn’t very unique.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
It’s so refreshing to have some one who ACTUALLY lived the American dream, instead of the usual, what’s the saying about people like Bush and McCain:
He was born on third base, but thought he hit a triple.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Karl Rove is a slimy shit bag that belongs in jail..
How you can stand being in the same studio with him without puking Alan, mystifies me..

Mrs. Obama’s speech to the delegates here in Denver was worlds away from her address in Charlotte.
In Denver, Michelle Obama described America as a place of hope, a place where people find success during the course of “improbable journeys.” In Charlotte, her America was a dark and ugly place, where people who work hard are knocked down by sinister forces — a place where even young children burst into tears when they realize the deck is stacked against them.
In Denver, Mrs. Obama said, “My piece of the American Dream is a blessing hard won by those who came before me.” Those forebears, she explained, were “driven by the same conviction that drove my dad to get up an hour early each day to painstakingly dress himself for work — the same conviction that drives the men and women I’ve met all across this country…That’s why I love this country.”
Would the real Michelle PLEASE stand up!!
For the first time in my adult life, I agree with Bill Clinton, “this whole thing is a joke”
In Charlotte, Mrs. Obama said, “We’re still living in a time and in a nation where the bar is set, right?…You start working hard and sacrificing and you think you’re getting close to that bar, you’re working and you’re struggling, and then what happens? They raise the bar…keep it just out of reach.”
Had something changed in the last few months? In the early primaries, Mrs. Obama often gave complaining speeches. It was in late February that she said the now-famous words, “For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country, because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.” In other speeches, she grumbled — sometimes at length — about having to pay back her college loans. And she, as much as her husband, was associated with the anti-American rants of Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Ha! As if Karl Rove is really qualified to say who loves America!
August 26th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT KARL ROVE’S OPINION?
August 26th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Isn’t this like Cindy Sheehan, or Michael Moore saying that they don’t think Cindy McCain loves America?
I hate it when people post using the monicker of someone else.
Someone as partisan as old lefty would never call out those on his side. :)
August 26th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
What the hell is this competition for patroitism from the idiot right? Is there a scale on which you rate who is the most patriotic?
I maturbate while saluting the flag and looking at a picture of Ronald Reagan.
Is that patriotic enough?
August 26th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
I hate this country because conservatives live in it…

My point is that I don’t respect Karl Rove’s opinion any more that you repect the opinon of Cindy Sheehan, or Michael Moore.
It’s just that the two lefties here have not been responsible for war, and do control domestic policy that effects the lives of millions of Americans.
Karl Rove has.
August 26th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
If only Michelle could be a good wife like Cindy McCain. Just stand off to the side like a prop. And be treated like a prop by her husband. And to stand there and be insulted onstage again and again. Maybe Michelle needs the teaching of the mighty cons to tell her how a woman should act.
God forbid the Obamas lived the American dream and worked themselves through school and life. Of course the McCains have that other American Dream. Find someone rich, dump your wife, and marry into money. I haven’t heard Cindy McCain saying how much she wants to fuck this country because how much she loves it. I don’t think Cindy the Crypt Keeper is patriotic enough either. She better speak at the Convention. Oh wait. I’m sorry. She knows her place and she’ll stand by John and he’ll ignore her and she will continue to be the good little wifey…
August 26th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Pssst. Furyus…It’s just that she’s so angry…and so black…and articulate….Michelle Obama is weally, weally scawy!
Hey Tom– ever hear of Peggy Noonan? Famous speechwriter? Wrote what Reagan said?
I hate to break it to you, but they ALL use speechwriters.
August 26th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
I dunno Sarah. Didn’t you see that New Yorker cover? She’s a secret 60s radical. As soon as she is the First Lady, she’s gonna start the Black Panthers up again…

Whoops! Top Republican Admits That GOP Is Running “Ministry Of Truth” Against Obama
By Eric Kleefeld – August 26, 2008, 11:39AM
The GOPer in question is Colorado GOP chairman Dick Wadhams, who accidentally made the admission when describing the GOP’s war room in Denver set up to hammer Obama during convention week.
Wadhams described the GOP’s outfit thusly to the Denver Post: “Just consider this the Ministry of Truth.”

Funny thing is, during most of both Barack and Michelles lives, the republicans have had control of the government and WOW LO AND BEHOLD those 2 people, you know puppet and I’ve never been proud of my country, have gotten an ivy league education and last year earned $4 million!!!
August 26th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Ive said for years if the next GOP ticket was Cheney/Rove? that would be AWESOME!
now if its McCain/Cheney? thats also awesome
you libs dont know anything wrong about the Bush/Cheney admin; you only know what the extremist liberal crackpot media talking heads want you to think. they hate America so they teach you what to say
I say that we need to have both democrat and republican we need the separation of ideas and the competition.
but its wrong when one side, right now its the LEFT, who lies about current events and history to hope people accept the lies so that it affects political support.
Instead, discussion should be based ONLY on the facts and let the debate take place. when the liberal left gets most of its input from very skilled liars who twist the truth and make up junk, it distorts everything and makes informed debate impossible.
Instead of talking about the Irak war, we have the left saying its an illegal or unfair war based on lies or whatever propaganda. thats probably because the political left has to admit the war was correct but they wont because doing that would only give support to the right. So the left lies about the war to gain power thinking we liberals SHOULD be in power so if we libs lie cheat or steal to get the power, its all good, the end justifies the means
so we have to unravel the lies the liberal people have been programmed with from VERY good liars who spin the events and make people think that THEY thought of the opinions they have.
And before any of you libs say it? yes Rush Limbaugh does spin in a similar way for conservatives on the right but to a far less extent. its wrong when either side does it.
Karl Rove is a great American hero, he says what we are all thinking.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Rove is the scariest major figure in America, the closest you have ever had to Hitler’s Goebbels. My impression is that, while he may have conservative impulses, what he really thinks or feels is totally irrelevant. He is a totally amoral manipulator whose only satisfaction comes from winning the game, whatever it happens to be on any given day.
Cheney and Bush are scary enough, but I sense that they do what they do and tell the lies that they tell for a purpose. They know best and feel justified in whatever subterfuge is necessary to achieve their ends. But, even worse than the appalling Rupert Murdoch who at least cares about money, Rove thinks about nothing but the game and how to win it.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
OL, you said: “My point is that I don’t respect Karl Rove’s opinion any more that you repect the opinon of Cindy Sheehan, or Michael Moore.”
but OL, the difference is Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan were both proven to be pathological liars. They are disqualified.
Karl Rove has not lied, and if anyone has proven wrong anything Rove has said? Id like to know about it, and if Rove took back the statement accordingly.
August 26th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Rupert Murdoch
?? Mr Murdoch is someone who cares about the safety and security of the free world.
So the folks who hate him most would be dictators and terrorists
When a person comes along and spouts hatred at Mr Murdoch it makes you wonder what they really believe inside…

In the fall of 1970, Rove used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Democrat Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Treasurer of Illinois. He stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead, printed fake campaign rally fliers promising “free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing”, and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters, with the effect of disrupting Dixon’s rally. (Dixon eventually won the election). Rove’s role would not become publicly known until August 1973. Rove told the Dallas Morning News in 1999
Rove was fired from the 1992 Bush presidential campaign after he planted a negative story with columnist Robert Novak about dissatisfaction with campaign fundraising chief Robert Mosbacher Jr.
Rove saaid that Democrats in Congress — not the Bush administration — forced a war vote prior to the 2002 midterm elections. Despite having being contradicted by former Chief of Staff Andrew Card and former Press Secretary Ari Fleischer.
It was Rove’s tactic to do push polls in S Carolina accusing John McCain of having a “black baby”.
Scott McClellan and Matt Cooper said that he lied about the CIA leak case.
If Clinton had a friendly congress who deferred to him in all things, and thumbed his nose at subpoenas and refused to testify, there would be some comparison.
I’ve Googled Lies Of Michael Moore,,, and Cindy Sheehan, seems to be all right wing sites AND opinion.
Although I would be childish and silly in the extreme to believe that those from MY side are all goodness and light.
The hatred from the right for Sheehan and Moore, is typical to me because they will ALWAYS trash the little guy (Moore.. little Ha ha), who gets in the way of those at the top.
I think they would like a king.

Thanks old lefty for showing how you feel. I know you only copied/pasted, but what kind of a person even promotes that kind of “comedy.” How do you feel about gays, are they people to be mocked, or only when they’re republican.
What’s the difference between that and what suntan wrote except the party it originated from.

How can she love “America”? She brings her “pickaninnys” to “The First Church Of Hatred” run by “Rev?” Jeremiah Wrong who her husband describes as his “Mentor”, this supposed “family” (I say jungle tribe) stands by as the most hateful, anti-america, racist, and vile propaganda spews forth from the mouth of “the Prophet” during his “sermons”. Just because some “hollyweird” make-up artist has lightened her skin and chosen softer colors for her apparel does not mean that she is now “mainstream”. She, Michele Obama, The America Hater is the 21st Century posterchild of what the Black Liberation Army, now looks like. I wouldn’t be suprised if N.J. State Trooper Murderess Joanne Chesimard was her maid of “honor”(shame)when she jumped the broom and married the octaroon that is now her “baby daddy”. Our nation is in peril of having a nigger elected President,(thanks Jesse Jackson for making the use of that word mainstream)should this happen we are doomed. I can’t wait for the last night of the Democratic Covention when Howard “Douche & Screamer” Dean a doctor, assisted by former Surgeon General Jocelyn “The Nigger” Elders strap the two “pickaninnys” born to the satanic Obama couple to the podium and begin our nations descent to “Shariya Law” as they remove the clitoris’ from their progeny as a sacrafice to their “demon god”.

Just a few Bush lies and sources:
~ Did not have pre 9/11 plans to invade Iraq:
PNAC
Rumsfeld’s notes indicate that Rumsfeld wanted the “best info fast. Judge whether good enough hit S.H. [Saddam Hussein] at same time. Not only UBL [Usama bin Laden]…. Go massive. Sweep it all up. Things related and not.” No one denied it.
~ WMD:
Gregory Thielman, State Department’s intelligence office: “I believe the Bush administration did not provide an accurate picture to the American people of the military threat posed by Iraq. This administration has had a faith-based intelligence attitude–we know the answers, give us the intelligence to support those answers.” The principal reasons that Americans did not understand the nature of the Iraqi threat in my view was the failure of senior administration officials to speak honestly about what the intelligence showed.”
London Independent : “The U.S. persistently alleged that Baghdad tried to buy high-strength aluminum tubes whose only use could be in gas centrifuges, needed to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons. Equally persistently, the International Atomic Energy Agency said the tubes were being used for artillery rockets. The head of the IAEA, Mohamed El Baradei, told the UN Security Council in January that the tubes were not even suitable for centrifuges.”
~ Crowds of cheering Iraqis at the tearing down of the statue.
A long-distance shot of the same scene that was widely posted on the internet shows that the teeming mob consisted of only one or two hundred people.
~ Jessica Lynch
Herself.
~ Bush said, Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires — a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so. It’s important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.
NYT, NSA, no one denied it.

……………………………………….
The way I see it, Moore is always angry at the powerful.
In Stupid White Men, he lambasts Democrats and urges people to go third party.
He mainly blasts party leaders, and the corrupt rich and powerful, not the people who follow them.
It seems that Coulter goes after the people, while protecting the powerful.
When she calls Edwards a ‘fag’ she doesn’t hurt him, she’s promoting the hate that DOES cause harm for more vulnerable people.
AS for mothers of boys **AND GIRLS,
that died in iraq that supported the war ….I guess they would have gotten the same adulation from the press that sheehan gothave if they took a public stand.
I thought Sheehan was treated more like a pariah by the media. It was politically incorrect to make Bush’s war look bad. I guess it’s a matter of opinion.
The left gets criticised for reading their names, the right doesn’t read them, and the administration doesn’t allow photos of flag draped coffins.
Some went to Camp Casey when she was there, even when they came from a sense of anger, they often let it go when Sheehan took them to the cross with their child’s name on it.
And Ahmed Chalabi sat with Laura Bush at the SOTU.

We on the left have a few that go a little over the top for our cause at times, but do we have anything to compare to your lovely Suntan? I think not…
Yeah, suntan is in a league of his own.
It seems that Coulter goes after the people, while protecting the powerful.
When she calls Edwards a ‘fag’ she doesn’t hurt him, she’s promoting the hate that DOES cause harm for more vulnerable people.
She’s attacking edwards, he is the rich and powerful. The only people protecting edwards was the liberal media. To believe that ann using the word fag promotes hate is a sad comment about your fellow americans. The haters already hate, no one is going to hate just because ann says something.
AS for mothers of boys **AND GIRLS,
Girls too. Thanks for pointing it out.
that died in iraq that supported the war ….I guess they would have gotten the same adulation from the press that sheehan gothave if they took a public stand.
They did get time on faux news. For some reason the non-fox stations weren’t interested.
I thought Sheehan was treated more like a pariah by the media. It was politically incorrect to make Bush’s war look bad. I guess it’s a matter of opinion.
In my opinion, when the polls said everyone was for the war the media went along for the ratings. When the polls said the war was dropping in the polls, then and only then did the dissent to the war start.
Sheehan got lots of face time, up until the democrats took control of congress and when they failed to end the war as they promised sheehan was no longer needed and so she’s become the pariah you wrote about.
The left gets criticised for reading their names, the right doesn’t read them, and the administration doesn’t allow photos of flag draped coffins.
Why is the left so intent on making the deaths public. We can all agree that the democrats don’t speak out about the number of youths that die in the streets of america every year. Ar you aware that more people are murdered IN america per yer than all the troops in iraq? And the numbers aren’t even close. Why don’t the democrats speak up about that waste of life. Unlike the troops that volunteered, children walking to school aren’t supposed to be targets.
And Ahmed Chalabi sat with Laura Bush at the SOTU.
Are you comparing ahmed and moore?
August 26th, 2008 at 10:29 pm
Why, P2T, that’s because we CAUSED all those deaths! You know how us pacifists are. Nothing but troublemakers. After all, we believe in all that commie crap like love, peace, brotherhood, tolerance – you know, marxist stuff. Why, we’re so unpatriotic, we don’t even wear Chinese-made flag pins.
Can you believe it? We hate the troops so much that we want to bring them home and out of harm’s way. And that’s not all! We also think that returning veterans should get the care and respect they deserve. What kind of commie talk is that?

Let the sun shine, let the sunshine, let the sun shine in on those BLOOD SUCKING VAMPIRES attending the Democratic Coven conflagration in Denver. Just pass me a sharpened stake along with a mallet and we’ll rid the world of this menace by sending those who bleed our nation of its life blood to their just end. An Eternity of Darkness just like the Clinton years, will befall us all if the “NIGGER” (The “man of God” Jesse Jackson says it, so it must be true) Obama usurps the righteous and seats himself above the Lord.
August 27th, 2008 at 2:01 am
Gayle, I just came in from the sun unlike the stinkin’ piece of crap that the Democratic Party has chosen as it’s candidate. I’m not afraid as Barack and Michele Obama are of darkening my complexion as a sign of vitality and health. No matter what they do, when those two BLACK SEPERATISTS wake every morming and look in the mirror they will be forever reminded that no matter how or what they sacrifice to the DEMONS they adore they will be cursed with the skin color of the EVIL. No amount of praying or offerings of the white mans blood in the “CHURCH OF HATRED” and its “Minister of Racism” Jeremiah Wrong can lighten their complexion and give that unholy couple souls.

OldLefty, thanks for posting a list, this is something we can all look at and work with. Its much better than a vague insult when one aks’s what lies?
These are the sum of the major Rove lies? Well, at least the allegations, to be fair, I couldnt expect anyone to just assume if I said Moore was a liar to believe it without something.
So lets look at this recent one that has some bite: “Scott McClellan and Matt Cooper said that he lied about the CIA leak case.”
Now McClellan is a discredited liar, the accusation is weak and without substance at best, and Rove has a really good excuse and explanation over this accusation. How are we going to know on this one if Rove was actually truthful? Because thats what we all want, the facts.
Id like to know if Karl Rove has said or done untruthful things. Hearing the accusation, ok now lets hear the source and hear from both sides.
But this one about the CIA leak case? its a major accusation that was played out over years in the media and in court and Rove was shown to be innocent of the accusations.
Why is the conviction important? because when its a political hack job only the accusation is important because the news reports it and people who glance at the news hear something that sounds bad. the instinct is to accept it as fact. So if the political opponent can make the accusation and win the pot of gold if they can get the all damning “investigation”. Even if no investigation got done but was called for, its a label thats supposed to mean why bother to prove it, the accusation is the important thing.
It takes years and usually the person accused is out of office. by then its no longer fuel for political hack jobs and who cares.
When one of those kinds of accusations is made? its vital to follow thru to the end and see what happened.
Rove didnt do it. But Bush only has a few months left in office and the accusations were useful fodder for democrats to pressure the Bush Whitehouse.
Now the accusation goes back at the democrats who made the allegation, if you are shown to have lied about Rove, then what? What kind of redemption should a falsely accused person get?
Have you or anyone else here ever been falsely accused of something anytime in your entire life? how did it make you feel to be wrongfully accused? It affects your what? your reputation. It changes the way you perceive others to see you, it jeopardizes your position…
And would you say those things about Karl Rove or Dick Cheney or GW Bush if you were sitting in the room with them and all eyes and cameras were on YOU? would you risk your personal credibility by accusing Rove Cheney or Bush when you didnt have proof in your hands? you may tend to think the accusations would hold up in a perfect court in a perfect world. But just how SURE are you, for real?
So anyone being intellectually honest would be fair

First off, I don’t see anybody “protecting” Edwards. I believe the so called “liberal media” is a myth, invented for the purpose of belying news that conservatives don’t like. Examples:
~ Sumner Redstone, CEO of CBS ’s parent company Viacom, made an unusual political statement at a gathering of corporate leaders in Hong Kong (Asian Wall Street Journal, 9/24/04):
I don’t want to denigrate Kerry… but from a Viacom standpoint, the election of a Republican administration is a better deal. Because the Republican administration has stood for many things we believe in, deregulation and so on.
~ Richard Bonn, former RNC chair said,
“There is some strategy to bashing the liberal media…if you watch any great coach, what they do is try to ‘work the refs’. Maybe the ref will cut you some slack the next time”.
~ Bruce Bartlett said in NRO: “the idea that the media tilts towards liberals is absurd.”
This myth of a “liberal media” is just there to manipulate the people.
Secondly, it is not just ‘ann’,. It is drumbeat from coast to coast , railing about the “homosexual agenda’, and the threat to marriage, and the promotion of the lifestyle, that makes people comfortable with the hate.
As for Cindy Sheehan, The MSM follows the lead of conservatives:
The Liberals never treated her as a pariah.
~ Limbaugh: “These are basically a bunch of miserable, angry people exploiting death.”
~ From Coulter’s August 17 syndicated column, titled “Cindy Sheehan: Commander in Grief”:
To expiate the pain of losing her firstborn son in the Iraq war, Cindy Sheehan decided to cheer herself up by engaging in Stalinist agitprop outside President Bush’s Crawford ranch. It’s the strangest method of grieving I’ve seen since Paul Wellstone’s funeral.
~ Radio host and former Nixon administration official G. Gordon Liddy called Sheehan “anti-Semitic,” claiming that Sheehan’s use of the term “neocons” is a code word for “the Jews in the Pentagon.”Someone needs to teach these liberals how to mourn.
~ Christopher Hitchens accused Sheehan of saying “her son was killed in a war run by a secret Jewish cabal,” referred to “Camp Casey” as “Camp Fruitbat and Nutbag”
~ Michelle Malkin: As promised, St. Cindy stinks up the Rose Bowl parade and delivers an unhinged salvo posted at After Downing Street–complete with BushCo/Hitler epithets, anti-American insults, and Absolute Moral Authority sanctimony
Yes, the troops volunteer, does that mean we turn our backs on them because their suffering reflects badly on those who put them in harm’s way?
Isn’t it bad enough we diss them when so many return, damaged, with the sights and smells of the horrific carnage, that they can never unsee or unsmell,, have emotional problems, forever changed, and have difficulties adjusting when they come back to a society who was told to just “go shopping”, wave your little Made In China flag, shout , “We’re # 1!!” and say, “just get over it?”
It is because, “Their’s not to make reply, Their’s not to reason why, Their’s but to do and die:”, that
OUR’S is to reason why, not to place blind, misguided patriotic trust in the Dear Leader’s mission.
“Are you comparing ahmed and moore?”
…………………………………………………………………………………
Ahmed is MUCH worse, Moore is just an entertainer. Chalabi used the blood and treasure of this country for his OWN personal, selfish agenda.

Bradley,
Between the Duelfer Report, the Kay Report, Downing Street memos, Manning memo, the PNAC,
The Taguba Report, Paul O’Neill, Richard Clark, Powell chief of staff Lawrence Wilkerson, Scott McClellan, Karen Kwiatkowski, Ph.D.,, a retired USAF lieutenant colonel, from the Pentagon’s Office of Special Plans……
ALL lying.
Only YOUR Little POOKIE is telling the truth, OH, Yeah. and they ALSO have their personal fortunes tied up in the industries that profit from the war, but they would NEVER lie about it !

whoops. so what is it with Olberman? Matthews? They losing it?
August 27th, 2008 at 10:04 am
First off, I don’t see anybody “protecting” Edwards.
The story was talked about for over a year. The national enquirer broke the story. Only then did the MSM jump on the bandwagon. The la times didn’t want its reporters to blog about it.
http://www.laobserved.com/archive/2008/07/times_bloggers_told_not_t.php
If not covering for edwards why did the MSM allow the enquirer to scoop them. Why did ABC when they finally aired the interview show it late on a friday night.
I believe the so called “liberal media” is a myth, invented for the purpose of belying news that conservatives don’t like.
You’ve posted this before, I replied to it and you ignored it. So I’ll reply again.
The liberal media bias is not some vast left wing conspiracy plotted in some basement late at night. It comes from the reporters telling the news through their eyes. As does hannity/rush if you want to label them journalists instead of the more accurate opinionists.
Example- A right leaner would refer to the abortion debate as pro-life, the left as pro-choice. So when a person with la liberal view of life would of course use pro-choice.
You and I are both biased. How could we not report/write about something without it being evident.
Why do conservatives not see the bias on fox and the liberals the bias on the other stations… Because they don’t see the bias when it agrees with their views. The same way that suntan could read the words of david duke and not see anything offensive.
Examples:
I don’t want to denigrate Kerry… but from a Viacom standpoint, the election of a Republican administration is a better deal
Believable. But like I said, bias is not an order from up top. It’s the view of the reporters. If the top management sent orders down to be biased for the right where are all the reporters telling these stories. Have you read any of the books of john stossel and bernard goldberg and their experiences in their newsrooms?
Richard Bonn, former RNC chair said, “There is some strategy to bashing the liberal media…if you watch any great coach, what they do is try to ‘work the refs’. Maybe the ref will cut you some slack the next time”.
How does this prove no liberal bias? The “strategy” is to bring so much light that the biased media will have to be more careful about showing their bias. When a coach works the ref it’s because they feel the ref isn’t being fair. Think of “working” as shaming someone into being fair.
~ Bruce Bartlett said in NRO: “the idea that the media tilts towards liberals is absurd.”
Yet the media donates almost exclusively to democrats. Like the saying, “follow the money.”
http://www.ibdeditorial.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=301702713742569
This myth of a “liberal media” is just there to manipulate the people.
Yet the left see bias on fox. Is that also a myth?
Secondly, it is not just ‘ann’,. It is drumbeat from coast to coast , railing about the “homosexual agenda’, and the threat to marriage, and the promotion of the lifestyle, that makes people comfortable with the hate.
Not believing in something doesn’t mean hate. That’s a rather black and white way of looking at things. Since california, liberal california, voted down same sex marriage does that make them haters?
In my opinion, the problem gays have is the wrong people are representing them. Ever see a gay pride parade? Why does “gay pride” mean open sex? Why don’t john & john doe, the normal acting/looking people that do everything the same as their neighbors except their choice of sexual partners put an end to letting the fringe of the gay population define them.
The Liberals never treated her (cindy sheehan) as a pariah.
~ Limbaugh:
~ From Coulter’s
~ Christopher Hitchens
~ Michelle Malkin:
I’m not sure the point of the quotes I deleted. Are you insinuating that I am so far right that I consider the above liberals?
Yes, the troops volunteer, does that mean we turn our backs on them because their suffering reflects badly on those who put them in harm’s way?
Who is turning their backs on the troops? Hannity, rush, dr laura have charities that help the troops and families of the troops. Churches help, charities help. I understand that as a liberal you believe the government should do the caring.
Hell yeah it’s bad homey! In a perfect world there would never be a war. World peace would be a great thing. Government obviously can not produce world peace. Hell, the united nations can not only not make peace but they can’t even stop their own peacekeepers from raping children. The un scam called oil for food, this from the very organization that is supposed to helping.
I don’t have a solution to world peace. Hell, I don’t even have a solution to peace in my own neighborhood. Look here at this blog… I haven’t used profanity, attacked anyone, haven’t posted crap like suntan and that other guy, posted enough words to prove I’m not some “drive-by” troll, haven’t advocated violence/hatred for others. And look at how a few have reacted to a differing opinion. Calling me names and wanting me to go away. If the very people on this board that believe they are tolerant and peace loving can’t get along with me, how can they be expected to get along with people that truly hate them?
