McCain-Friendly Group Pining For The ’60’s

August 26th, 2008, 8:11 PM EDT

A 527 group with ties to McCain put out this hit piece on Obama, trying to tie him to William Ayers.  Obama has now responded, and it’s laughable how his detractors claim he’s the one keeping this controversy going.

  1. Keep it up Alan. Loved the way no-one even acknowledged you when you mentioned the Keating 5 last night. Every time these people make one of their idiot attacks about anyone remotely connected to Obama, it brings the point where McCain’s past gets outed that much closer.

How did the 5th to bottom graduate get into the elite fly-boy group? Why was he alone helicoptered away from the aircraft carrier tragedy, never to return? Is it true that he not thought to be safe, because it was him playing silly buggers flaming the aircraft behind him that caused the inferno? What was the real story about old Hensley’s mob connection that gave him his fortune to start with? Why did the McCain’s accept the 100 million or whatever without making any provision for only-child Cindy’s secret sisters? Why did the Navy only release 20-odd pages out of 600 in his military record? Why was the nasty old fart so vicious to the MIA families and so determined to keep the book closed on the Hanoi Hilton? How much did McCain and the Hensleys actually profit by his support for Keating? Why the witch-hunt on Tom Gosinski after he blew the whistle on Mrs Drug Fiend?

Then of course, there are all the McCain v McCain moments which must be in the editing room as we speak. Oh, it is going to be delicious when the politeness and American-hero bullshit is finally dropped.

  2. McCain was the candidate who said he wouldn’t resort to attack ads. That’s all I’ve seen from him so far.

  3. Hahaha go on and continue to grasp at the strawman, puppet, dammit I mean grasp at straws. Lord Obama, I bow to you and your hatefilled wife….bulllllll

  4. Well, if anybody should know about hate, it would you be you LV. You are the master.

  5. That video was scary! How can anyone on this site be so ignorant and blind?? How can you libs explain this guy (Obama)and his actions/comments with regards to Ayers??

What does Obama want to change?
    Yes we can what??

All we know about this guy is how much his friends and family hate America. And he organized communities…???
    Radical, Radical, RADICAL!!!!!!

  6. Its too bad you’re a lying piece of shit Alan. McCain is not responsible for this ad and you would be screaming your lungs out if McCain was blaming Obama for a moveon.org ad.

By the way, learn about the phones you liberal crybaby and polls. All the primary polls were pretty much on the money, except Obama usually polled a little bit better than he ended up getting in votes, including exit polls the day of the same votes being cast. You know if Obama doesn’t get a 10% lead he’s finished, I know you are a sad partisan and have lost any credibility but it will require more than chanting “McSame,” Clinton figured out the formula was to fix what was broke without going communist, forcing gay lifestyles on a resiliently opposed population, and seizing all weapons. Since then you’ve run the continually failed Mondale campaign of whining about “fairness” and dividing the population into victims and elnightened despots versus the silent majority.

I don’t blame you for being optimistic. I just blame you for lying and being irrational. You’ve completely become indistinguishable from Herr Goering in matching talking points and bumper sticker slogans instead of actually bothering to understand a position and defend it. You’re nothing but a DNC groupie who will sell your orifices unquestionably for repeated failures, thanks for betraying the Clinton legacy to perpetuate the pendulum swing of partisanship in America by promising that Carter redux is not going to end up with a groundswell of Reagan idealists in 4 to 8 years.

  7. Jani, you utter dunce, the world is round. All Obama has to overcome is the hateful racism that is the elephant in the elephant room - all these crazy reasons people are inventing to justify the fact that they still cannot accept a black man, any black man, as a real human being. Remember the fuss when Obama ‘PLAYED THE RACE CARD’ by saying that his opponents would try to scare you because he didn’t look like all the other presidents on the greenback?

Guess what, there was a nice little Rovian commercial on the net a week or two earlier showing Barack’s head on Mt Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty and, yes, the hallowed $100 bill and asking if that was what right-thinking folks really wanted.

Muslim… commie… Rezko… Ayers… Wright, Wright, Wright… The attacks have got to 11/10 on the hysterical scale already… where else can you go now? Face it, losers, you are utterly fucked.

P.S. What the hell are you on, comparing our lovely Alan to the head of Hitler’s airforce?

  9. John McKee:

If you knew anything about real grassroots activism you would know the Democratic Party is a complete fraud in its overall aim and is only slightly more adept at sensitivity to ethnic and cultural minority needs because of the corporate duopoloy giving the illusion of choice in American politics. There are many marginalized smaller parties that effectively offer much of the same platform for workers’ rights, fairer taxation, and personal health and educational needs for all individuals who have a much more consistent commitment. The Democrats for the most part run as Republican-lite while parroting populist rhetoric but in turn more or less preserving the large money interests and gradual transition, or actually regression, to equitable social justice. The fact is most activists who are more interested in personal celebrity than permanent reform know the Democratic Party will give them more air time to the public than other groups, but in order to be featured they must be accepted by the establishment they pretend to disdain. The true masters of this movement were the Clintons, who offered minimal legislative reform but the Republicans so effectively demonized that it allowed an unknown like Obama to mistakenly be nominated for a social publicity stunt. He is not representative of the African American community and much of his promises are a complete farce, he is an establishment politician who has shown a complete willingness to be an accessory to unconstitutional laws, abuse of power, and inner circle networking just like any other candidate for the sole purpose of being elected to a political office. And people like Alan and you turn a blind eye while deriding much better people because they in fact do NOT accept corporate media sponsorship or lobbyist money and therefore are inaccessible to a mathematically probable level of constituents to be elected constitutionally.

Do you see the challenge is in the irony that the candidate who promises alleged CHANGE, which more or less is nothing but a subconscious ploy to convince people that voting Democratic this year is the logical reaction to voting Republican, is actually have to spend so much time admitting he isn’t ashamed of his country and doesn’t want to change things too much so as to be accepted by the status quo?

Probably not, its a giant tennis match to you. Who cares what happens, just so long as your team ends up winning. Nothing will change except the people who move chairs around in Washington. And if you want to attribute his virtual inevitable failure, because his option has turned out to be no real option other than a surreptitious gambit that people would suspend their traditional beliefs and vote for the opposition party because of a vague desire for some reform to the current situation with no concrete understanding of the Obama strategy, all to the bogeyman of racebaiting then that shows how superficial you really are. Charges of “McCain = Bush” and “Barack will save us all” are intellectually sterile and nothing different than “Pepsi is better than Coke, drink Pepsi.” At best you are just handing the Republicans at least one branch of Congress by 2010 and another presidency by 2016, and the country will be no different than it has been since 1976. I feel sorry for you people who think it will be any different.

And Hillary Clinton lost the nomination because until April the Clintons had gotten so accustomed to victory that they were more concerned with winning than actually making a difference. Bill was genuine but also pragmatic in 1992, now it is just a technique for victory over an opponent without any real purpose in mind. And the same insincerity is written all over Biden and within the last couple of months Barack Obama. You’re settling for cheeseburgers over corn dogs when you really wanted sirloin, all because you believed what the commercial told you about being happier under an Obama administration. And that is why the Republicans usually win, because they understand this concept and convince people that the change people want is something entirely different than what the opposition is giving, even though they play the same card continually. There is nothing new in this election, in fact the 1952 election was basically the same thing.

  10. Also I was using a euphemism for Alan’s running mate in their nightly hamster cage, not referring to the literal Luftwaffe commandant.

  11. Balls, Jani. The Democratic Party is way to the right of where I stand, but it’s the only choice under the current system. Thank Mr Alternative Ralph Nader for the last eight years of disaster under the worst President ever. The alternative to Obama is more of the most corrupt, unprincipled bunch of cowboys in power in any democracy on Earth.

Minimum wage. Workfare. Tax breaks for the filthy rich. Pandering to the nutcase religious freaks (Intelligent design, for Christ’s sake!). Equal pay for women. Idiotic wars for idiotic reasons. Affirmative action. Women’s right to control their reproductive lives. Making the US look like a complete bullying arse to the rest of the world.

There are plenty of reasons to make an intelligent vote this year - all your pontificating is simple bollocks dressed up to sound like sense.

  12. There ya go, anyone who doubts “THE ONE” is a racist. Yep, don’t matter that he has no record, no experience, ran for president after 143 days of senate experience, hangs out with America hating radicals, doesn’t acknowledge his family in Africa yet wants my tax dollars to support Africa. Yeah THE ONE is for change alright. Change it from my money to theirs.

  13. I’m a christian and write this segment to stimulate what I hope can be a ciivilized discussion. My grandparents came to this country from Sicily, Italy, in the early 20’s. They were broke and didn’t understand, or speak a word of english. They had no knowledge of American history and the slavery of it’s past. However, because of our caucasian skin color, I and my entire family of decendents are expected by black society to provide restitution for the sins of slavery committed by past generations of American white society. All Christian leaders, in every country around the world who have accepted any position of leadership, are reminded by Christ of their great responsibilities of leadership, and are commanded by Christ himself, to lead as he leads, and teach only his teachings, carefully. Jesus assures these leaders that they are held strictly accountable by God. They will face severe judgement, and severe penalties for ignoring this command. It is well documented that the American government has given an apology to black society for it’s sins of slavery. With regards for the aformentioned, my question is this. Why haven’t black Christian leaders such as Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, and Rev. Wright accepted the apology as Christ requires, and offered forgiveness as Christ requires.

  15. “I and my entire family of decendents are expected by black society to provide restitution for the sins of slavery…”

You’re confusing ghetto punks and welfare frauds, which come in all varieties and colors, with citizens of African heritage.

This just in: there’s a lot of black folk who’ve never been featured on an episode of COPS. It’s because they were at work when the camera crew rolled by.

  16. RC FROM SMITHTOWN,
I never made a reference, or used the terms “ghetto punks”, “welfare frauds”, “black folk” or mentioned African heritage. Who the heck was talking about a TV show? The only thing that’s “rolled by” is you and the stench you’ve left is nauseating.

  18. Jani, please take your meds. As for the “tennis match” comment, you recently described yourself as only an interested observer, neither Democrat nor Republican (although you seem increasingly anti-Dem on this format). I can’t think of a better summation of a tennis match than what you describe yourself as.

The Conservative, I used to think the same thing, totally. I’m completely German-American, and, if anything, that ethnicity in my region spoke out against slavery during the 1800s. Perhaps because Germans were indentured slaves themselves.

I used to subscribe to the “Why isn’t there a WAACP? Why should I care about descendents of slaves I never owned?”

Then I started learning more about the lives of those who were part of 400 years of slavery. Biographies about those who had been “owned.” Reconstruction’s failure. Present-day racism.

After reading about 400 years of how an ethnic group was brought over, raped, lashed and purposely made ignorant, we owe blacks AT LEAST another 250 years of Affirmative Action, AT LEAST.

The biggest difference between our ancestors (yours and mine) and African-Americans’ ancestors, is that our families came by choice, their families by force. Worse than having no freedom, they saw what freedom COULD be.

An apology from the government is pretty thin consolation, and hardly heartfelt if it doesn’t put its money where its mouth is like it did with the Japanese Americans during WW2.

I’m not in favor of financial reparation. Affirmative action is a more effective means of reparation, in my opinion.

And frankly, I wish we did more for race relations in this country. Not just because it’s a nice thing, but because it’s more practical when everyone gets along better, is educated and motivated.

  19. Like all the good things Obama is doing for race relations? Yes! The racial divider is running for president this time around. Oh that’s right, if I mention that IIIIMMMMM the racist!!!

  20. Bravo Sarah! The shallow thinking of the ‘reverse racism’ crowd is so frustrating. Even today, black people face so many challenges the rest of us have never experienced.

How about being regarded as a probable thief/rapist/mugger by every second or third person you meet, based on nothing but your skin colour?

How about, as an innocent four or five year-old, not being able to play with certain people’s children?

How about having no chance of getting a job with a percentage of employers, no matter what your qualifications?

Take a moment people - you know how offended you are when you are treated unfairly or feel discriminated against in even the tiniest of ways - have a little empathy for people who face it every day of their lives.

  21. Back at ya, John. I agree, and the only thing worse than whitey’s cries of “reverse racism” (although, I do have to say– I think many blacks can be racist) is the blubbering of “discrimination” I hear from Christians and white males.

Oh no, wait. For Christians the popular thing is “persecution.” Like the fake Wal-Mart Christmas BS. (Yeah, like they really have it all over the Jews.)

Anyway, Ayers was a punk-kid who was protesting the Vietnam War. The right-wing milita groups who support the GOP actually BOMBED a federal building and killed hundreds of people, protesting not a war but the whole American government.

  22. Sarah, why are you always telling people to take thier meds?? Is it a reminder for you to take yours? Or is that what you always hear from the nurses at your psych ward??
Punk kid protesting the war? Are you kidding? Do you know anything about this guy??????
He founded a domestic terrorist group which later killed policemen. This guy is an absolute monster who brought terror, destruction and death to America for years and years. The right wing milita groups may support the GOP but BHO supports Ayers. They are friends!!
Om 9/11/2001 Ayers stated that he would not discount the possibility that he would bomb again.
09/16/2001-Ayers claims, “The USA makes me want to puke.”
2003-Ayers, Obama and Dohrn(Ayers wife, also a terrorist) attend a party together for Rashid Khalidi, a PLO operative and Arafat supporter.

This guy has a lifetime filled of terror and hate on America, and you just say he is a “punk kid” who was protesting the war. What a joke!! Get a clue.

    Now go take your meds!

  23. P.S. Ayers is white and this has nothing to do with race. Good job trying to switch the topic though. Typical left wing tactic.

  24. One thing everyone forgets is, the slaves where sold by the own people. They owe themselves an apology.

  25. Gayle, you are an idiot. What else can I say?

  26. SARAH,
First, my family had no knowledge of, or anything to do with slavery when they arrived in America. However, if you’d like one example of racism I’ll explain. Blacks have no knowledge of my family culture, it’s heritage, or the difficulties of racism my italian grandparents had to endure, yet because of my skin color I’m required by black society to understand their struggle, their culture, their heritage, their slavery, and apologize for it. Isn’t this racism? Second, notice I emphasize in my last post, christian teachings with an additional emphasis at the end on Christs requirement of forgiveness. Jesus teaches to forgive as he forgives without restitution; that forgiveness is from the heart, and is a necessary step in the process of healing, and by itself is enough. As he lead by example, he requires all christians to lead by example. If Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, and Rev. Wright are the christian leaders they proclaim to be, they know this teaching and requirement. Since these men, by their own decision, have accepted their roles of christian authority and leadership, they are bound to a higher standard of conduct. If these men wish to rid this nation of racism, as they say they do! What must they do SARAH?

  27. Conservative - your Bible is about as credible as big time wrestling. You are welcome to believe whatever craziness you like, but for Christ’s sake, don’t expect the rest of us to treat you as anything but a self-delusional fool. And don’t you dare tell us how to live our lives.

  28. Conservative, when your ancestors CHOSE to immigrate to this country, they had to learn how to adapt to its culture. Slavery and the effects of its abolishment (which only REALLY happened when blacks could attend public schools) is part of our culture and our heritage. It’s necessary, if an immigrant wants to have a good overview of our country and its history, to be aware that slavery existed and impacts the wide majority of blacks even to this day.

Because we are not Christ (and even Christ knows the difference between “I’m sorry, how can I make it better?” and “Sorry! My bad! Moving on!”), it’s important to follow his teachings, which include something to the effect of, “If you quarrel with your neighbor and you think of it while you’re making a sacrifice to god, stop what you’re doing, leave the altar, and make things right with your neighbor.”

Your ancestors had to recognize how slavery was a part of our society, and its impacts that continue today.

Hey, hopefully we’ll get to a point in American society where blacks won’t have to deal with prejudice, but I don’t see it happening in our lifetime, and I’m aware of it even more now that all the white-supremecists, both closet and avowed, are coming out of the woodwork.

I just think it’s important to understand the history and conditions of how blacks came to be in America, and why they might collectively come across as frequently P.O.’d, uneducated, etc.

  29. John McKee,
You are the one who’s dillusional. I never mentioned anything about how you should live your life. You sound like a frightened little man who’s been bullied all his life, and instead of dealing with it, you’ve found a media where you can act, and talk tough without dealing with any circumstances. Get some help, little man.

  30. Oddly enough THE, I’m the one who actually signs his name to his posts. I’ve actually had a pretty good run out of life, better than I deserve, and I’m not frightened by much at all. I do have a sense of justice though, and a strong dislike of pampered people who want to preserve their lives of privilege at the expense of others.

  31. SARAH,
I’ve had the history lessons, and slavery itself existed mainly within the confederate states, not the entire nation. Yet, regardless of apologies, the entire nation is still held responsible to this day. Prejudice isn’t all exclusive to blacks, and I’m not concerned about psycho extremists of any color. I’m not surprised to see how you’ve avoided answering my question either. Until blacks are willing to forgive, racism will always raise it’s pointed little head.

  32. I learned that the American Issues Project was funded by just one person, and that with their tax exempt status (501c), can not legally promote political ads like the one they created for Obama. This ad is airing in 13 markets — I don’t live in one of them — so I will be interested to learn if they are eventually pulled. The ad space they purchased through the convention used only a small percentage of their capital, so I am sure they are working on more despicable material. I wonder who the sole donor was – McInsane?

  33. John McKee,
I’ve had a good run too! Better than I also deserve. However, I’ve not lived a pampered, or privledged life as you allude to. As for justice, if being held hostage by some, and also rquired to pay the ransom is your definition of justice, than you’re a fool.

Well, “pointed little head” is how the KKK identity-hiding costumes are designed.

Conservative, what do individual blacks have to forgive, when clearly individual racists like yourself prefer to heap general abuse, rather than proffer individual apologies?

  38. T2P, you seem really bothered by the formerly anti-government Ayers, but apologetic for the more-recent anti-government Weaver, Koresh, and the home-grown terrorist McVeigh. I don’t think I’ll ever forget how you recently tried to justify the conservative-militia induced Oklahoma City Bombing in a previous response to me.
