Obama-Biden Administration Could Pursue Criminal Charges Against BushCo

September 4th, 2008, 1:55 PM EDT

Buried this week with all the focus on St. Paul and the RNC is Joe Biden’s comments to a cowd in Deerfield Beach, FL that a new government might go through the Bush records “with a fine-toothed comb” and possibly pursue criminal charges.

“If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation,” he said, “they will be pursued, not out of vengeance, not out of retribution – out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one, no attorney general, no president, no one is above the law.”

Subsequently, Biden told FOX News:

“But, you know, there’s been an awful lot of unsavoury stuff that’s gone on. And the mere fact … that it occurred in a previous administration doesn’t mean [a subsequent] Justice Department, if, in fact, there’s evidence, shouldn’t pursue them. “But I have no evidence of any of that. No one’s talking about pursuing President Bush criminally.”

  1. What’s a “cowd”?

  2. “No one’s talking about pursuing President Bush criminally.”

Obama might pursue criminal charges against Bush administration· Biden says criminal violations will be pursued
    · Democrats have issued subpoenas to Bush aides
    · 3 staffers have been held in contempt of CongressElana Schor in Washington guardian.co.uk, Wednesday September 03 2008 19:32 BST Article historyDemocratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said earlier this week that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden’s comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats’ strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

When asked during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, whether he would “pursue the violations that have been made against our Constitution by the present administration”, Biden answered in the affirmative.

“We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offence that’s occurred,” he continued, going on to praise congressional committees for the deliberate pace of their inquiries into alleged Bush administration misdeeds.

Members of Congress are “doing the right thing, they’re not making false accusations about anything … they’re collecting data, subpoenaing records, they’re building a file”, Biden said.

  4. The Democrats are just begging to lose the election, aren’t they?

  5. What a joke…The Dems just can’t stay on the issues…they will lose every discussion on them…so, better to “confuse the issue.”

  6. If I knew that Obama and Biden would seriously pursue this, that would be reason enough alone for me to vote for them. There’s no way in hell McCain and Palin would do it.

  7. YES! YES!!!!!!!!
    (hi Cheryl)

  8. Alan, this is a great thing, immagine, mext time you seat next to Karl Rove, you do not have to pretend to like him, you can just call him criminal, crook, he and his friends should pay dearly for what they have done. and You republicans, democrats are not near perfect, but at least we are not responsible for the death of more than 4k soldiers and hundred of thousands of iraqui/afgani civilians, you the so call “pro life”. let’s save a child so later you can send him to a ridiculus war to die for nothing. great going… I want to see all the republicans saying godbye to all of those people who are, according to McSame going to be “drafted” to persue Bin Laden to the gates of hell.

  9. This is great! Throw the book at them. Then, when the Republicans are back in charge they can have a witch hunt on trumped up charges!

Liberals are fascist. They have traded brown shirts and jack boots for tie-dyed t-shirts and birkenstocks. if they ever get control of the white house they will prosecute anyone who disagrees with them – just like Obama is trying to do by sending letters to the justice department to investigate anyone that wants to know about his ties to the terrorist William Ayers.

Democrats are always calling Republicans fascist – project much?

  10. Bush will more then likely pardon himself and everyone in his dis-administration as he leaves the White House on Jan. 19th at 11:59 PM.

  11. Best to keep the charges against these filthy criminals on ice until January 21. I don’t think the idiot-in-chief can give pardons before charges are laid, can he? Is deliberately starting a war for your own dopey reasons treason? Was hanging Japanese interrogators who used waterboarding a legal precedent? Wonder if Dumbya is allowed to pardon himself…

  12. Sarah Palin quote’s in her acceptance speech V.P.:

“As for my running mate, you can be certain that wherever he goes, and whoever is listening, John McCain is the same man. I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment.
And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.”

“But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion – I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people.”

“The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it.”

“But we are expected to govern with integrity, good will, clear convictions, and … a servant’s heart.”

“I pledge to all Americans that I will carry myself in this spirit as vice president of the United States. This was the spirit that brought me to the governor’s office, when I took on the old politics as usual in Juneau … when I stood up to the special interests, the lobbyists, big oil companies, and the good-ol’ boys network.”

“Sudden and relentless reform never sits well with entrenched interests and power brokers. That’s why true reform is so hard to achieve.”

“But with the support of the citizens of Alaska, we shook things up. And in short order we put the government of our state back on the side of the people.”

“I came to office promising major ethics reform, to end the culture of self-dealing. And today, that ethics reform is the law”
    _______________________________________________________

The question for both McCain and Palin is that if they are ‘Marvicks” and against the status quo and for ethic reform and win the White House, will they pursue Karl Rove and the Bush Administration, who are the Washington elite, in the corruption of the Justice Department, Valeri Plame, Jack Abramoff and the Don Segalman cases?

  15. The Marxist plot takes form in the midst..

  16. nobody is aboce the law.
    Alan,
Hannity’s Idol: Karl Rove, must pay for all the evil he has done. He has refused to testify under oath in congress, he can’t claim executive pardon if he is not even present at the hearing… Something to hide there Little “architect”,

Republicans, explain the Iraq war report first and second part, expalin torture, explain exposing CIA personnel, explain the firings of the attorny generals, explain why this woman in the justice deparment in charge of hiring people,in her interview questionarie, she specificly mentions President Dush, specificly if you have somebody who you admire besides the president…

Explain the pre-9/11 plot, the fbi info that nobody pay attention to, explain the Bin Laden family leaving the USA to saudi arabia after the attacks helped by the CIA.

America does not know the aswers, and neither do you, that’s why we need to bring this to justice, and once and for all expose all of this.
