I’m An Expert On New Jersey Because I Live In New York
You can’t make this stuff up. They keep trying to promote the idea that Sarah Palin has foreign policy experience, even more than Obama does, because Alaska is near Russia. Cindy McCain pushed this ridiculous argument. And Tyler Harber was on FNC having this laughable exchange.
Gregg Jarrett: She has no national security…experience. It’s pretty brave of her campaign to put her out there on that, isn’t it?…
Tyler Harber: She does have foreign policy experience. Now let me point out. She’s worked with Russia. She worked with Russia on fishing issues. She worked with permitting issues and with fishing issues…

Shesh…do they think the American people are that stupid? Will they say she has foreign experience because Russia borders China? Come on now.
September 6th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
LOL! What a joke!

And many are.

What the hell is foreign policy experience? Using a passport?
I think what you need is a good grasp of history (Obama appears to be horrible at history), appreciation of the differences in cultures and good diplomatic team.
The idiots in the State Dept have tons of foreign policy experience and yet that place is a disaster.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
Conservatives DO think Americans are stupid, and they are counting on that stupidity to carry into November and vote for McCain.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
They do think people are stupid and gullible. I would venture to say that most conservatives get all of their info from right wing radio. And they know that that is true. And we certainly know that whatever the right wingers say is for sure the Gospel.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
Hey now, folks- working with another country on fishing issues is hard work! That kind of experience has certainly built a foundation of expertise that will allow her to negotiate with Russians on issues like, invading other countries.
On a serious note, her limited experience dealing with foreign administratives on issues like this are a plus, but they are no where near as important as the McCain camp is making it out to be. Placing too much importance on this stuff is going to backfire.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
Foreign policy experience? How about if the pols began following some of George Washington’s advice regarding relations with foreign countries – stay out of their squabbles.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
I live next door to a doctor…I’m going to set up a surgery 1st thing Monday morning…I mean, I must be qualified.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
There is a very old saying which can be used regarding Sarah Palin. “The cure for love at first sight is a second look.”
September 6th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
LIE BABY LIE.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Come on people stop with those silly remarks. She doesn’t need foreign policy experience John McCain has it. Just like Obama doesn’t have any but Joe Biden does. Well that is a little backwards it should be Biden/Obama.
Obama went to Iraq twice that doesn’t give him any and he has only worked in the senate around a year that doesn’t give him any either. At least she ran a state.
Alan can’t you do any better than this you keep going back to Palin. I think you have something against women.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
September 6th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Think I will go sick of this for now. Have a nice day everyone.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Why should anyone be impressed with John McCain’s foreign policy experience?
He has been wrong about everything.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Conservatives do not think Americans are stupid, only Alan Colmes and the left-wing liberals that follow his advice–he never listens to anyone because he is talking all the time.
Remember Geraldine Ferraro — she only had three terms as a congressman and was chosen by Mondale as her VP. Any of you squawk then? I doubt it because all left-wingers were applauding the choice of a woman.
That is the problem with liberals — doublespeak. They only cry when their ox is getting gored.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
We have the top of your ticket competing with/and comparing himself to the bottom of our ticket. Mission accomplished (and yes, I know you don’t know why that is important, just trust me)
September 6th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Obama gives liberals a real reason to be proud of his command of the English language. Here is a video link that shows just how accomplished he is at speaking without a teleprompter:

September 6th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
Sarah Palin has as much foreign policy experience as your guy Obama. Plus she is a dynamic woman fully able to multitask. Rest assured she can handle it if and when necessary.
BTW Sarah Palin is on the ticket as VP. Guess you missed that.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
Figures, Dean. it’s from a conservative site.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
I don’t know how anyone in America could have missed the news about McCain’s VP pick. I just want to know more about the nominee.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
I should have put my last post here – it’s under the wolf one. Very appropriate. If you get a chance, read it.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
“Figures, Dean. it’s from a conservative site.”
Yeah, you’d never get the truth HERE.
And Alan, you can’t be an expert on New Jersey because you live on Mars.
But, a New Yorker would know more about Northeastern states than someone from the South…if they actually pulled their head out of their nethers and occasionally, you know, paid attention to issues outside their realm of self-importance. No wonder Democrats don’t get it.
September 6th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
If someone doesn’t get the truth at this blog, then why do they bother to visit?
September 6th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
rigano,
You are a sick person…isn’t anything personal? Tampons? An apology dosn’t help at all. I can see discussing the issue’s but TAMPONS?
September 6th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
OldLefty,
Your the one that is wrong!
September 6th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Dean
It’s not how he said it, it what he said stupid. It’s oblivious you all can’t attack the message but the messenger. You make me sick.
I can’t wait till November 5th when McCain takes Palin back to Alaska, for a long ride, in this bus of his. I am sure it will be the ride of there lives.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
Working Mom… He’s saying how low the people who are peddling the false rumors about the VP are.. because they have aleady stay in the gutter so much.. that the only degrading thing left to expose would be a tampon
September 6th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
oh i misread him.. i guess he is criticizing her.
well he is the example of the person i thought he was describing
September 6th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Working Mom
If the Republicans can go that low, I can, but, with an apology.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
NO!! You are a sick person.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
And gee if they’re opening and running camps.. why isn’t that mentioned as part of his experience?
So .. so far he has omitted
Chicago Allenberg Challenge (w/ terrorist Ayers)
Woods Fund (w/ terrorist Ayers)
and now Public Allies (which looks like ayers. just kidding)
Why is a man running for President with a paper thin “resume” taking the huge risk of keeping his resume so unimpressive?
September 6th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
“Figures, Dean. it’s from a conservative site”
I guess we could go to a ‘Progressive’ site and read articles about the contents of Sarah’s stool sample they recovered.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Sick pup!
September 6th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
You have a lot of allegations, but no proof. All you have is your “guilt by association” mantra.
“Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion.”
You mean like this occupation of Iraq is cost us $3 trillion+?
“I guess we could go to a ‘Progressive’ site and read articles about the contents of Sarah’s stool sample they recovered”
That was a very intelligent.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
PALIN = CHENEY with Lipstick!!! Looool… Lie Baby Lie.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
Vince -
I think you need to go into the Public Allies website to take a look/see at the long list of notable donors.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
The only relevant criticism of Palin is that she is above all an extremist. She is completely out of touch with rational citizens of all persuasions.
September 6th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
If it’s so respectable why is Obama not mentioning it?
Why is he making a fool of himself by answering questions like “Isn’t Sarah more expereienced than you” with ‘my campaign is bigger than the town she was mayor of”
September 6th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Sarah Palin is, for a conservative, intellectually gifted. In just a few days she learned to almost pronounce nuclear (with a little help from the teleprompter). And once she learns how to locate Germany and Japan on the map, she will make rapid strides in faith-based foreign policy.
September 6th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
“Alan can’t you do any better than this you keep going back to Palin. I think you have something against women.”
Welcome to the big league, rookie.
“Sarah Palin has as much foreign policy experience as your guy Obama.”
Palin graduated with a degree in Journalism from a no-name university. Obama graduated with a degree in foreign relations from one of the top schools in the country.

Since the news media is trying to deceive Americans it’s up to us to inform each other and defend our country.

Vince P:
So what? It proves he was acquainted with Ayers. That’s it. You have nothing so you’re desperately trying to push the Ayers bit. Good try, though.
Perhaps you and working mom can find a nice cozy right wing site and opine all day long. Might I suggest Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and my personal favority, Michael Reagan.
September 6th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
“If someone doesn’t get the truth at this blog, then why do they bother to visit?”
Is that a serious question?
Let’s pretend it is…
Pretty obvious answer: no one who surfs limits themselves to “Truth Only” sites. I’m pretty darned surprised I have to, you know, explain that.
“So what? It proves he was acquainted with Ayers. That’s it. You have nothing so you’re desperately trying to push the Ayers bit.”
Har. If McCain shared a cab with 30 years ago, there wouldn’t be enough Wet Wipes on the planet to clean up the soiled britches of Leftists everywhere. But hangin’ with a terrorist is A-OK — provided the person is telling you that the government exists to take care of your problems.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
“You first.”
Do it yourself. I don’t even know you.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
If folks feel Alan posts lies then why do they continue to visit?
September 6th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
I honestly think you people are getting more stupid by the minute.
But then again, I guess I am expecting too much from people that were naive enough to elect a dumb ass like Dubya into office TWICE. A man who doesn’t even have command of the English language. A man that bombs the wrong country. A man that when elected didn’t even know the names of many leaders of other countries.
You guys have some pretty freaking low standards.
What’s next? An illiterate 9th grader who once had a dream about farting on a bus in Peru?
September 6th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
“If folks feel Alan posts lies then why do they continue to visit?”
Is that rhetorical or do you want an answer to another stupid question?
September 6th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Again, people are missing the point of the post. The point is not Sarah Palin.
The point is instead of using the fairly decent argument, yes she is inexperienced in foreign policy, but so is Obama, but we have her on the right side of the ticket, the VP slot instead of the President slot, they are using the laughable argument that since Alaska is close to Russia, she has plenty of foreign policy experience.
Steve Doocy of Fox and Friends said it first, then Cindy McCain repeated it, then John McCain himself repeated it, now many Republicans are repeating it.
If it were just the pundits saying this, it would be much less mockable, but when John McCain himself uses the line, it becomes incredibly ridiculous.
Again, the original post, at least my understanding of it, was not belittling Sarah Palin, it was making fun of the people that claim she has foreign policy experience just because she is governer of a state that is close to a foreign country.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
“But then again, I guess I am expecting too much from people that were naive enough to elect a dumb ass like Dubya into office TWICE.”
Yeah. What kind of idiots did it take to LOSE to a guy that dumb???
“A man who doesn’t even have command of the English language.”
“Ummm, erm, uh, wait a second, eh, erm, hold on, um, yeah…what was the question?” — Barack Obama, excerpt taken from the Saddleback forum transript, edited for nuance and extra hopeychange.
“A man that bombs the wrong country.”
We agree; I didn’t like it when Clinton bombed that aspirin factory either.
“A man that when elected didn’t even know the names of many leaders of other countries.”
I surely hope those leaders weren’t OFFENDED. Why, those countries may end up not…LIKING us! Sniffle moan…
September 6th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Palin spoke with Russia over deep sea fishing issues? Obama might as well close shop.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Ellen Lowe:
“Yeah. What kind of idiots did it take to LOSE to a guy that dumb???”
Bush was not elected. He was appointed by the supreme (republican) court in 2000 and the counts were “fixed” in Ohio in 2004.
“Ummm, erm, uh, wait a second, eh, erm, hold on, um, yeah…what was the question?”
This proves nothing. Nope, Dubya still takes the cake.
“A man that bombs the wrong country.”
Dubya attacked the wrong country, and admitted it later.
“I surely hope those leaders weren’t OFFENDED. Why, those countries may end up not…LIKING us! Sniffle moan…”
You have your wish. We are one of (if not, the) most hated country. And nothing says respect like unadulterated hatred.
By the way, you seem to have anger issues. Try calming down, you’ll have a happier life.
September 6th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
“What’s next? An illiterate 9th grader who once had a dream about farting on a bus in Peru?”
Isn’t TDRO enough?
September 6th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Apparently the McCain camp isn’t giving up on this nonsense. Yesterday I posted three videos on my blog of Steve Doocy of “Fox and Friends,” Cindy McCain and John McCain making this absurd argument. They didn’t even bother trying to make the desperate connection between fishing and international affairs. For them, it was enough that Palin lives in Alaska. Do they really think Americans are that dumb?
September 6th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
TDRO: “Bush was not elected. He was appointed by the supreme (republican) court in 2000 and the counts were “fixed” in Ohio in 2004.”
I’d go one step further regarding 2000. The Supreme Court committed the theft of the century by stealing the election on Bush’s behalf. After thousands of voters were disenfranchised in Florida, the “justices” stopped all recounts–-there should have been a re-vote-–and handed Bush the presidency. Conservative judicial activism at its finest.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
THE LIBERAL CURMUDGEON.
It’s not that John and Cindy McCain think the American people are dumb, but, maybe they already know the outcome of the election will be to the Republican Party favor, so nothing else really matter. They will say what they want until Election Day, when, as I see it, are going to win the white house the same way the Republicans won against Al Gore and John Cary.
Who do you think is really running their campaign? The same people who ran George Bush campaign to get elected, twice, and you know how they done it.
All the have to this election is be more creative, it’s not about politics and issues my friends, it’s about how to win at any price and any cost.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
“Do it yourself. I don’t even know you.”
Well, you came in with such a formidable argument, demonstrating such uncanny wit and keen irony, I wouldn’t think you’d really have to know a person before showering him or her with additional insults.
Could it be opposition research is lagging?
September 7th, 2008 at 1:28 am
Obama is an xpert on?
He has xperience doing?
He says he will go get Bin Laden, how?
He can have rev.wright and fr flager for his all american negociating team.
September 7th, 2008 at 1:55 am
The RNC this year has shown how hypocritical they are to an Independent like me. Using a strategy to promote your opponent’s total lack of experiences and then choosing, of all the Republican running mates, one who has never made any decisions inside of Washington. For all the conservatives of out, please take heed of this hypocrisy and the party that you support.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:35 am
Jeff, I have looked at both parties. But I think you should look at the hypocrisy the DNC has shown. Obama claims to want change, but chooses someone who has been in Washington 30 years (because HE doesn’t have any experience). I think your thinking is the typical elitist–you can’t be smart and have “credible” experience unless you are excepted by the “In” crowd. That kind of thinking is why most of American doesn’t like politicians. I personally don’t trust Obama because he came up through the Illinois machine, which I know from experience has a long history of corruption. I like the fact that both McCain and Palin have worked hard and made their own paths. Maybe you should think long and hard about your vote.
September 7th, 2008 at 2:59 am
I would never vote for someone like Pink Slip Sarah. She would set women back 100 years and then some. Give me a break.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:17 am
@Trace–you are a bit confused…McCain is the top of the ticket.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:39 am
Proudtobeamerican tell that to the repubs. Most people don’t care for McMoron. They don’t like him and what he stands for. The only reason why the cons will be voting for this ticket is because of the vagina monologue. It’s a shame because her policies stinks. No pun intended!
September 7th, 2008 at 4:24 am
Trace,
You can have your own opinion but why the vulger talk that will get you nowhere…it will just show how IGNORENT you are. Also giving anyone nasty names just shows how you have a limited vocabulary.
September 7th, 2008 at 6:39 am
The Liberal Curmudgeon
You say Bush was appointed by the supreme court…well I hate to tell you Obama was appointed by the DNC. You don’t seem to know Hillary got more votes than any Democrat in history. Democrats won’t elect a woman that is why they appointed Obama. What happened to every vote should count demopcrats? Go to some of the caucas states and the people will tell you how they were shut out of those caucases.
September 7th, 2008 at 6:59 am
Working Mom,
As a Democrat who was going to be proud to vote for Hillary OR Obama, (and saw very little difference between them), I would like to tell you why I feel that the primary was close but that Obama won fair and square.
#1 Before Obama was even mentioned: on local liberal talk radio, many regular callers hoped that Hillary would not run just because of the baggage (most of it based on lies, most callers acknowledged, and had been complaining about it all through the 90s.)
Some felt that Bill would be too much of a factor, and others feared she would energize the Clinton haters, who were disgusted with Republicans.
#2 Many young people, the age of my children,(early 20s), who have no memory of Reagan, can remember ONLY a BUSH or a Clinton.
I heard such things as “When did we start having royal families?” “What next…Jeb Bush, then Chelsea?”
#3 You can say,”Go to some of the caucas states and the people will tell you how they were shut out of those caucases.”, but you can hear the same stories from Obama supporters.
#4 We don’t know what would have happened if Florida and Michigan had followed the rules, or if Obama’s name had been on the ballot in Michigan.
I just know that some of the Hillary supporters I know would be LIVID if she had won and Obama supporters claimed that Democrats won’t elect a black man, that is why they appointed Hillary.
September 7th, 2008 at 7:33 am
OldLefty,
The reason Obama was appointed was the DNC was affraid not to appoint a black man. The DNC not voters appointed him. There is still discrimination against women within the DNC. They will never again elect a woman. Case closed!!
September 7th, 2008 at 7:44 am
Working Mom,
That’s only YOUR opinion.
Because it was SO close, people would have said the SAME thing if Hillary had won.
Remember, NOBODY (including blacks) voted for Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton.
Obama won fair and square because enough people wanted a change from the names they had been hearing for years and years.
Case closed!!
September 7th, 2008 at 7:53 am
OldLefty,
Think of something (case closed) original. Yes, it’s my opinion and many other GOOD DEMOCRATS feel the same way I do so like I said before. CASE CLOSED!!
September 7th, 2008 at 7:58 am
Working Mom,
The case is NOT closed just because you say it is.
The case is closed in YOUR mind.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:00 am
OldLefty,
If you wanted something new why Joe Biden who has been in the senate for 30 years? Talk abut old thinking…I thought the people wanted something new? JOE BIDEN is part of the GOOD OLD BOYS!!
September 7th, 2008 at 8:03 am
I just popped in here out of curiosity and I must say you Americans have made mud slinging into an art form. Sometimes, it sounds like listening to kids in a playground rather than a political debate. That said, I think it’s wonderful that people are more and more engaged in the process, although hardly surprising considering what you’ve had to suffer for the last two terms.
Call me old fashioned, but when considering the person who is going to lead your country wouldn’t it make more sense to review their policies and how the parties they represent have performed in the last eight years?
I must say as a foreigner, it’s wonderful to watch the candidates trying to outdo each other in terms of foreign policy when your great country has spent the last eight years ignoring the opinions of the rest of the world on everything from Iraq to global warming.
I thought it was a joke when I was first told that apparently this Sarah lady is well versed in world affairs because Alaska is near Russia and huge metropolis of Uelen (pop.500.) This video of the man defending Sarah’s background in realpolitik due to her negotiating fishing rights is hilarious.
It’s obvious she knows jack about the rest of the world, apparently she’s only ever left the US twice, so why bother going on about it? Knowing nothing about the rest of the world has never stopped Amercians voting for a President before, so why should it now?
Personally, I’d like the person leading my country to have the qualities of a great statesman, intelligence, integrity, vision and courage. The ability to inspire and articulate themselves and their ideas clearly. A talent for diplomacy and capacity to understand a myriad of different view points.
Why on earth anyone thinks being average, like the girl next door, rather than exceptional is an advantage is utterly beyond me. It’s like asking the average joe to do your brain surgery because they enjoy the same sport or drive the same car.
Can someone please enlighten me as to why so many Americans think this makes sense?
September 7th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Britboy,
I’m not talking about the girl next door I’m talking about the well qualified Hillary Clinton. She has the experience and is ready to lead from day one and as far as I’M concerned was passed over because she is a woman. That is my opinion!!
September 7th, 2008 at 8:08 am
Working Mom,
#1 Biden would be new to the executive branch.
#2 They would have blasted Obama if he had picked someone as new as him.
#3 McCain represents the same old disasterous policies.
#4 The Clintons are as much a part of the good old boys network, as Obama will probably be in time also.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:15 am
And here is a film by Democrats who say that there was overwhelming and massive systemic corruption of their caucuses by Obama
wewillnotbesilenced2008 dot com
September 7th, 2008 at 8:20 am
OldLefty,
You don’t make any sense and I will not discuss this with you anymore. JOE BIDEN is part of the good old boys an he ran for president how many times? How many votes did he get this time 6,000? How many did Hillary get 18 million? That sure says alot. Biden is a loser and always has been. I don’t need to say anymore it says it for itself. GOOD BYE
September 7th, 2008 at 8:23 am
Britboy: The Democrat Party is surreptiously controlled by the Extreme Left.
They have absolutely no desire to reform the government or control the national budget.
Obama is running on a Cult of Personality type of campaign, so the people do not know who he really is.
I am from Chicago where he is from, and he comes from a political culture that is completely corrupt and deals in keeping its voting bloc subservant to it.
On the other side you have the Republican Party.
The Republican Party had spent the past decade violating the principles of its largest bloc.. conservatives.
The conservatives bailed from the party two years ago.
Were it not for the danger of Obama, no one would be supporting McCain.. and then McCain selected a VP who is the governor of Alaska. A woman who fought the corruption in government ,.. corruption of her own party, and cleaned things up.
That is what the non-socialists amoungst want. In addition to a leader who undertands we’re in a war with Jihadis.. which the Democrats pretend isn’t happening.
So you have one half of the population competely on another planet.. and the other half just recently remotivated for the election.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:24 am
Working Mom: I been reading some SF, CA papers. and the people in the comments secions are coming to realize that the Dem ticket is not going to win
They’re getting angrier.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:26 am
Britboy,
Sadly, many in this country, see intelligence and intellectual curiosity as “elitism”.
This is a result of years of right wing propaganda.
Smart people who are women or black are extra offensive!
In Thomas Frank and his book Whats the Matter With Kansas?…
He quotes a guy saying, “George W Bush cares about Main Street, NOT Wall Street. Bush is REALLY sticking it to big business!”
When you can get that kind of disconnect from reality, your’e in trouble.
HL Mencken said,
“The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even a mob with him by the force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second or third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.
The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is
perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the
plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last, and the
White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
Hopefully people are waking up!
September 7th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Why do I get the feeling that if Hillary had won the nomination and had chosen Biden OR Obama, THEY would have been the MOST AWESOME CHOICE EVER!??
Except for the McCain supporters posing as Hillary supporters who would be claiming that Obama won and the DNC appointed Hillary because of racism.

Vince P – Chicago,

You’re welcome Working Man. Something is going on with this election and we need to spread the truth
September 7th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Check out the new John McCain ad about Obama
This is going to ENRAGE the brittle Messiah
September 7th, 2008 at 9:46 am
Obama thought he could do it without a woman so he didn’t even vet Hillary. Now he is calling on Hillary because he is afraid of Sarah Palin. lol lol lol

This is going to ENRAGE the brittle Messiah
Slick -
Do you really think Obama is going to be surprised and offended by any ad the Repubs publish? Gimme a break!
Obama may be calling on Hillary for help to campaign for the Dem party but, trust me she is wiling to go to try and collect some donations to pay off her debt. I saw the look on Bill Clinton’s face when Obama and Joe Biden were on the stage at the Dem convention. He was proud of Obama.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:16 am
And McCain doesn’t have people he ran against,
compaigning for him?
Of Course Hillary supporters are offended at the choice of Ms Palin, who is opposed to ALL of her values.
Not to mention the values that McCain has held until a year ago.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Anita,
You need to get your eye’s examined he looked ANGRY.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:26 am
Brit-Boy said it very simply – we don’t want an average, girl next door in the White House. Our expectations should be much higher than this.
I heard she is appealing to the “Wal-Mart moms” – oh great, that’s nice.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:39 am
Nah he didn’t look angry to me. He may have been disappointed that Hillary did not win but, he was not angry. When he puckers up that lower lip that has always meant he was pleased with an event. After years of seeing his mug on the television screen I know the difference between his nods and nays. He gave Obama a nod.
I personally did not see that the pols McCain ran against were truly genuine in their support of McCain at the Repub convention. Those clowns used the platform
to further their cause for future positions.
Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton are one in the same. They are both calculating and conniving. Maureen Dowd wrote a very interesting column about these two women.

“Do you really think Obama is going to be surprised and offended by any ad the Repubs publish? Gimme a break! ”
Obama is very vain and he’s very brittle. He has no sense of humor.
He cannot tolerate being mocked or diminished. Have you noticed that has been the common thread in the McCain ads? And Barry whines a lot about them.
>Obama may be calling on Hillary for help to campaign for the Dem party
Yeah I know.. I saw the response. Hillary said not to count on her and she’ll contact him.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:41 am
Hillary will be in Tampa, FL tomorrow to campaign for Obama.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:44 am
And I will never for the life of me understand why any Hillary supporters would even think of voting for the Republican ticket because of Palin. I don’t think there is many, but unfortunately some.
Gloria Steinem said it best, “that’s like saying – somebody stole my shoes, so I’ll amputate my legs”. I love that quote!
September 7th, 2008 at 10:45 am
The Republican party has created their own Hillary Clinton. And in four to eight years we will see the same thing that has happened in the Dem party.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:47 am
Anita: No i dont think so. Sarah didnt play second fiddle for any man. She wanted to do something and she did it. She didn’t have to marry a man and ride his coattails.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:52 am
No, I think she married him because she got knocked up Vince.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:58 am
You are naive about human nature. Instead of listening to your radio heroes, perhaps you should try getting out and talking to everyday Americans. You don’t get it about these minnions on right wing talk radio. These people only possess the gift of gab. Gab can be about fact or fiction. And most of talking heads deal in fiction. Sarah Palin is begin presented as this ideal Christian woman to the public. I am a Christian. But, I also remember what the man told Christ hanging on a cross beside him. I am a sinner.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:05 am
You folks who are against her are the ones saying she’s perfect. You’rejust looking to tear her down.
Did you hear, that B Hussien called himelf a Muslim on the news today?
September 7th, 2008 at 11:10 am
I personally could care less why she married her husband. I don’t even need or want to hear this woman on any talk shows. I saw what she is all about on the Fox News special All American Woman. She reminded me a great deal of the self righteous one on The View. I am always very skeptical of anyone who puts their tongue in their cheek when asked a question because these folks always have a calculated answer.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:10 am
Anita,
Don’t be nasty now.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:23 am
I am not being nasty.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:36 am
I saw that ad, Vince, and that’s all McCain has. Lots of accusations but no solutions.
September 7th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
ANITA
“I am always very skeptical of anyone who puts their tongue in their cheek when asked a question because these folks always have a calculated answer.”
Very nice. True too.
September 7th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
Thanks Vince for your detailed analysis. You raise some interesting points.
I’ve never considered the Democrat Party particularly left wing let along extreme left. Even in comparison to New Labour, which is more centerist than ever.
So may I ask what you mean by the Extreme Left and what it your evidence for this assertion?
As for controlling the national budget, is it not the case that under Mr Bush, your national deficit has ballooned? Even today I read that the republican government is nationalising these mortgage companies Fannie something or other, which will cost billions.
You also mention that Obama is running on a Cult of Personality type of campaign, so the people do not know who he really is.
Do your politicians not publish a manifesto which tell the people exactly what their polices are?
September 7th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
How comforting that Palin understands that her life and decisions are under the control of supernatural beings. We don’t know yet whether she takes her orders by talking to them directly, or gets orders through spiritual advisers. But she does understand that the central command is to give more and more to those that have the most. That is why she is a Republican, a McCain supporter, and a Christian conservative.

mccain says experience doesn’t matter.
mccain has hagee, bush and alaskan separatists.
bush pardoned a traitor, but mccain hugged bush.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
mccain may die. then palin is president. president palin.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
the muslim accusation is designed to exploit bigotry.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
vince, your link doesn’t work. it’s like those wmd saddam supposedly had.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
scottsoperson,, I think you forgot how many criminals Clinton pardon in his last days. Those who live in glass houses should be careful to throw stones.
Just a quick note on the health issue. Does anyone wonder about Biden’s health. I mean, he has had two brain aneurysms. HE could drop dead at any time. Then what would Obama do?
September 7th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
bill’s not running.
if biden dies, obama would nominate a new vp.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
yap, bush and clinton are the same. i agree.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
mccain says experience doesn’t matter. that’s why he picked palin.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
yeah, clinton’s not running; neither is bush.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
but mccain hugs bush.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
so? You can’t hug someone you disagree with? If you can’t, I feel sorry for you and your friends. I am so amazed how so many of you blame others for your lives–especially bush. What about do-nothing pelosi and reid?
Better yet, take responsiblity for your own lives.
I think I am done with this website. No offense, but most of you don’t want intelligent debates. Just hate and no common sense remarks. But in your defense, that is what Alan brings to these debates.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
according to factcheck.org, mccain voted 95% with bush.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Alan, you are I believe the only liberal I honestly like! Your name is my hubby’s middle name and spelled the same way! I can stomach some liberalism! Just not the ones running on your party side.
In good judgement I cannot and will not give my vote to 2 liberals and elite ones at that to direct Our Country forward for future generations. I like the energy independence plan on the McCain-Palin ticket a lot better than I do Obama’s. I do believe Obama should try to run for the presidency some 4+++ years from now when all his corrupt friends are locked up! I think he should eat his waffles and sit it out for awhile!
September 8th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
I lived in Jersey! Married a Jersey boy! Voted more democratic then than I do now and I think it is because of the “Windy City” I was born in and now have returned to! In my heart, I just can not pull down the lever for any democratic politician this election year.
