What Is Sarah Palin Hiding?

September 16th, 2008, 12:49 AM EDT

Governor Palin is now saying she won’t cooperate  with the investigation into troopergate, in spite of previous declarations that she wanted to be held accountable.

The matter is now in the hands of a state-hired investigator working for a Republican-dominated legislative committee that hopes to sort out the mess.

Palin steadfastly denies the allegations, and with her signature resolve, said she welcomes the investigation. “Hold me accountable,” she challenge her critics.

But that statement goes all the way back to last week.  Now, days later, the McCain campaign is claiming the investigation is “tainted”, and hijacked by Democrats.  So, this paragon of open government, running as a “reformer” suddenly isn’t so willing to cooperate with an inquiry where she claims innocence.  Why?

Responses to this post...

  1. Hey Alan:

JOHN McCAIN IS THE ONE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. Just thought I would give you the news.

  2. Hey Alan, love the new site!

I hate to tell you and all the other nice libs who frequent your site, but McCain-Palin are gonna win handily in an electoral victory.

  3. ALAN,

Please play all the things Joe has said in his past 20 years. Coming from SE PA, we have heard 20+ years of Joe…it’s the only time Delaware makes the news on ABC in Philly.

Lets cut some of the misogyny you seem to exhibit for this woman–keep it to McCain please.

  4. “The matter is now in the hands of a state-hired investigator working for a Republican-dominated legislative committee that hopes to sort out the mess.”

Some people keep up with the news, Alan. This statement is factually false. More basic, it’s a lie. The matter is now in the hands of a state-hired Democratic dominated invesitgation (the senator heading the investigation is a Democrat that supports Obama and he hates Sarah Palin and that is what this is all about). The investigator was hired by the Democratic Senator that backs Obama. He is telling the investigator who to question and pulling the strings.

Oh, and by the way, Sarah Palin is running for Vice- President. Funny how this woman has you libs shaking in your shoes.

Monegan did not fire the trooper. He is still working. Monegan was offered a job in another capacity and he refused that other offer and resigned is the way I heard it. Whatever happened, we don’t and we includes you. I imagine nothing much will come of this because the Obama supporter running the investigation will be shown to be doing it for purely political and personal reasons and you libs will, once again, have to wipe the egg off your face.

  5. Alan I watch the show you and Hannity and have noticed that on he show you are more respectful with your discussions. But on here your no better the Keith Oraldouch. I guess this is where your true colors come out. Disappointing really. But typical. Liberals have always been the most hypocritical people on the planet.

  6. Keep it up Alan:

These freaks on the right just want everyone to live in the bubble they exist in. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN. Republicans make me sick; they go through three variations of a story in one sentence. Don’t be upset that little Ms. Alaska is turning out to be more trouble than you bargained for.

Keep digging for the truth Alan.

  7. In response to the “McCain is running for President” argument that the right rely so heavily upon, it should be noted that, if elected, McCain will be the oldest 1st term President in history. He has a history of skin cancer not to mention he’ll be holding the most stressful, high maintenance job in the world. Therefore the scrutiny of Palin is justified as, more than any Vice Presidential candidate in recent history, there is a much larger chancer of her having to take over the Presidency.

In his choice of Palin, McCain failed dramatically in showing the kind of judgement a commander-in-chief needs. The first, most vital quality a Vice President needs to possess is the ability to capably fulfill the office of the Presidency if it is required of them. Obama picked Joe Biden, one of the most decorated and respected Senators of the past 50 years. McCain picked an unknown woman, with 2 years state-wide executive experience and, before that, a number of years as Mayor of a town with a population of 9,000. That wasn’t “country first”, that was “politics first” – a pathetic, half-hearted attempt to peel away a block of Hillary supporters.

It’s bad enough Governor Palin was selected at all – her positions on key issues are irresponsible and reprehensible (absolutely no gun control, including the ability to carry concealed weapons and to purchase assault weapons, for example.), but what is even worse is that this outsider, with no previous experience on the national stage, is outright lying about her achievements. Not only that, but whilst she spouts her fabrications on the campaign trail, the McCain campain refuses to allow her to do interviews, outwith of the Charlie Rose debacle, where Governor Palin managed to expose herself as woefully unprepared for a debate on serious, national issues. Of course, she’ll soon have that hard-hitting interview with Hannity. I bet he’ll ask the tough questions. Yeah.

One final note: I would find it hillarious, if it weren’t so disingenious, that the Republican Party – the party of swift boating, of “Barack HUSSEIN Obama” fame and countless other disgraceful and reprehensible smears, has the gaul to suddenly take on the mantle of “political correctness” and accuse the so called “elite media” of sexism towards Palin. What utter nonsense. A candidate is allowed to be vetted (apparently, you know, the McCain camp didn’t do such a good job on that front). Obama has been vetted by the national media since he declared his candidacy, McCain and Biden have been vetted by the media – Palin had not and, to a large extent, still has not been, yet whenever the media dared to question her ridiculously false credentials as a “reformer” or queried whether or not she was ready for office it was deemed sexist. Pathetic.

Sarah Palin doesn’t scare us liberals. She angers us. Because of her policies, because of her dishonesty, because of her sanctimonious, politically-motivated praise of Hillary (a mere month after calling her a whiner), because of her dismissive attitude to Obama’s excellent work in the Chicago community and because, quite frankly, she is not qualified to be Vice President, let alone President.

Role on the debates – Sarah the Barracuda, get ready to meet Joey the Shark.

  8. She’s probably hiding a set of twins under her skirt.

  9. misogyny among the bloggers here

    Wow

  10. “Why?” Because the investigation is tainted and has been hijacked by Democrats. I got that from your post.

  11. “JOHN McCAIN IS THE ONE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.”

Yeah but what’s left to say? He was a POW. That’s all he’s got.

  12. HEY WILLIAM:

You used a lot of word to basically say you love Obama, Biden is the next greatest person to Obama, McCain is gonna die in office and you hate Sarah Palin and she is a liar not fit to be Vice-President. Oh yeah, and that Sarah Palin better be afraid of Joey the Shark.

A few of your fact are wrong. The obamasiah has NOT been vetted by the press. He has been protected by the press. Some charges were made, he said he was innocent, they said ok and no more reporting anything. There are a boatload of shady things around Obama that could be investigated if the media were so of a mind to do so. And .. shouldn’t the guy running for President be capable of assuming that job from day one? If you think he is ready and you don’t think Sarah Palin is ready to be Vice-President then you have a strange way of deducting things.

You are fast to call Sarah Palin a liar and yet you bow at the alter of Obama. That man hasn’t told the truth about anything in his past including his pastor, Saul Alinesky, William Ayers, just to name a few. Do a google check on his political dealings in Chicago and how he won his elections. He won them by having the people running against him discredited. Exactly what he is trying to do to Sarah Palin right now. The only problem is that you libs are about the only ones buying his garbage. You need to stop getting your news from the DailyKos and Huffington Post.

Actually, go and do some research and you will find that she won all of her elections fighting popular republicans and democrats and she won them with large percentages. She has an 86% approval rating as the Governor now. The politicians she beat and the corrupt ones she swept out the door are the ones feeding the left the gargage they want to hear.

As for that ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ that Obama & Biden voted FOR 3 times and voted not to transfer the money to Katrina that you libs like to bring up every other sentence, you might check this piece out. It done by a group that certainly is no friend to Bush or the Republicans.

    http://councilfor.cagw.org/site/News2?abbr=CCAGW_&page=NewsArticle&id=11594

And Joey the Shark ain’t going to bother Sarah Palin. She will chew him up and spit him out and never lose her smile. You guys keep throwing the mud at her because all it it doing is chaulking up votes for McCain/Palin.

As for interviews, I’m sure she will do a lot of them before the election, but she will do them when she wants to, not when you and the press wants her to. Liberals and the liberal press don’t intimidate her and THAT’S what really makes you mad. That ABC interview with Charlie Gibson was a joke. More was edited out than was left in. Here’s the link to what was left out.

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2008/09/13/abc-news-edited-out-
    key-parts-sarah-palin-interview

You people on the left can keep on believing you are going to win this one, but you’re not. If so, Obama would already have it in the bag and he ain’t close.

  13. WILLIAM: the ABC intervies link above should be”

Hope it works this time. If not, click on the blue underlined text and when you get to the site click on the ABC train.

  14. ROCKY SAID:

“Yeah but what’s left to say? He was a POW. That’s all he’s got.”

Can’t argue with reason like that. That’s deep.

  15. All the various and sundry Palin-gates are the gifts that keep on giving.

Here’s the latest in Palin’s Pro-Rapist Policy Gate:

Palin’s people admit she fired the Wasilla police chief, Monegan, because he was attempting to secure funding to investigate and prosecute rapists, which Palin didn’t want to do.

“The McCain campaign says it can prove Monegan was fired in July because of ‘insubordination on budget issues’

The “last straw,” the campaign said, was a trip Monegan planned to Washington in July to seek federal money for investigating and prosecuting sexual assault cases.”

    Here’s the timeline:

Police Chief A (Irl Stambaugh) runs a pro-victim police department. Palin fires him for “lack of loyalty”

Police Chief B (Charles Fannon) charges rape victims for the cost of forensic tests to avoid “burdening the taxpayer.” (Which Palin, literally, signed off on — with her signature on official paperwork, folks.) Palin later calls hiring Charles Fannon the best decision she ever made

Police Chief C (Walt Monegan) seeks funds to investigate and prosecute rapists. Palin admits to firing him because he sought those funds.”

Oh, there’s more, much more (of course!) Including the Alaska State Legislature having to step in vote on a state-wide bill forbidding the charging of rape victims for evidence collecting in their cases, in order to stop the one rogue-town of Wasilla-Palin’s nasty pro-rapist policy.

For reality-based sourcing, the facts, the direct qoutes, etc. you-all are going to have to mosey over to the scary Daily Kos, which scarily deals in all that reality stuff.

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/9/16/0018/20374/851/600190

Sorry about that, but you can still rely on Fox News and freep-type sources for your smears, lies, half-truths and fairy tales.

  16. Question of the Day: Is it misogyny when Palin throws a wrench into the proscecution of rapists, and champions the idea that victims should be forced to give birth to their rapist’s child?

And how might those two pieces of nastiness be connected? (Hint: rape evidence kits may include emergency contraception.)

    Wingnut heads explode.

  17. Tom, exactly: ““Why?” Because the investigation is tainted and has been hijacked by Democrats. I got that from your post.”

Was it Newt that said she shouldnt cooperate with the sham? Alan do you want to now say Newt is crooked?

She wants to get the facts out there, having democrats involved this means they cannot be trusted to tell the American people the facts. Democrats not only being biased? but partakers in the idea they can lie as needed, anytime anywhere. Alan deny that lying is your first amendment right to free speech even under oath?

  18. The McCain Strategy is based on “Reverse Victimology.” As I see it, there is no direct way to combat racism and our desire to unite and overcome the past. If you can’t beat it, then join it. McCain’s strategy is “Be the Victim.” Hillary tried it against Obama and it won big in parts of the country that doesn’t get it. Keeping to yourself is okay if that’s all you have to worry about, but we are in a global world with nuckular weapons and greed everywhere. We can’t adopt a victimology strategy and blame everyone for allowing 9-11 to happen. What did we do to stop it? It’s like blaming the world for pulling our pants down and looking the other way. It’s like Deliverance and Ned Beaty. Bush squealed like a pig instead of fighting like a man before 9-11. We’ve been fighting a war to restore his honor. We have become endless victims using fear and hate to move forward in a global world. We are stuck and that’s why we need change. Women aren’t victims and nothing Palin can offer will make this case. No sexual attack or remark can overcome the reality that slavery was real in America. Are we equal or not? Do we elevate victims or do we celebrate those that rise and move forward? Republicans are taking us back to hate. America moves forward to a prosperous future shared by all in the promise of “Equal Opportunity” not “Affirmative Access.” I get it and “We Can.”

  19. Why? Simple… She’s a liar and a crook, like McSame.

  20. The editing got a little out of order in the last para. Let me help:

So, this paragon of open government, running as a “reformer” suddenly isn’t so willing to cooperate with an inquiry where she claims innocence. Why? Now, days later, the McCain campaign is claiming the investigation is “tainted”, and hijacked by Democrats.

See, you actually answered your own question. Stuff does get mixed up these days, alas.

  21. JA Ru,
Why do you people keep making sexis remarks? She’s probably hiding a set of twins under her skirt. What has that got to do with anything…but it looks like your always going under her skirt.

  22. Wes,
How do you know she is a liar and a crook? Do you have some inside info? I wonder if Rangel is off his committee yet?

Rep. Charles Rangel paid no mortgage interest on a beach resort property for about 15 years, a lawyer for the powerful House committee chairman said Friday.

Davis said Rangel failed to report rental income from the resort property on his taxes, but didn’t realize it was necessary because of the way the deal was structured.

Shall I go any further? There are lots more democrats that are a little shady too. I wonder what would happenb to us if we pulled this?

  25. re troopergate: can anyone answer this question? WHY would todd palin, a man who has NO OFFICIAL position in the government of alaska be contacting the public safety commissioner about trooper wooten, no matter how heidious he is???? seems to me he must be the same pushy arrogant individual as his wife. sarah palin’s belief that she is qualified to president in NOTHING but sheer arrogance and stupidity!

  26. JudyBrown,

Rape evidence kits are for collection purposes. If ANY medication is necessary a Doctor’s order is required before you can do that.

  27. yeah the man was a POW. but his later treatment of his injured first wife negates whatever came before! ” you’re only as good as your next performance.”

  28. Why is it that all of these character flaws that are excused due to the trauma of having been a POW, don’t eliminate him from consideration for the presidency?

Will disasterous and reckless actions ALSO be excused because, ‘Yeah, but he was a POW’?

  29. Susan,

he left his wife for another woman which was wrong. The only difference between what he and Bill Clinton did is that bill and Hillary are still together. Should Bill Clinton’s presidency be negated?

  30. Bill Clinton and his party never portrayed themselves, nor sought the endorsment of those who claim to be the ‘family values’ people.

  31. exactally!! plus bill clinton made very bad choice, but obviously cared enough about his family situation to work it out, and that’s not an excuse for what he did! johnmccain on the other hand, simply left a womam who had waited for him for five years for a younger and richer model, BIG,BIG difference! one shows some strength of character the other shows NO character!

  33. Lobo,
Now give me a break how do you know what went on in McCain’s marriage and there break up? Are you looking in a crystal ball or maybe McCain told you. All your doing is reading someones opinion. Good lord use your head for something other than a hat rack!! CLINTON? lol lol lol

  34. “Now give me a break how do you know what went on in McCain’s marriage and there break up? ”
    ………………………

That’s why the GOP should should stop acting like they are our moral betters…..
Not only do they have no more claim on morality than anyone else, they are often worse.

As Thomas Frank said in the WSJ,:

“But McCain seems to think that small-town people can be easily played. Just choose a running mate who knows how to skin a moose and all will be forgiven. Drive them off the land, shutter their towns, toss their life chances into the grinders of big agriculture . . . and praise their values. The TV eminences will coo in appreciation of your in-touch authenticity, and the carnival will move on.”

  35. Alan – why is this site so negative? All I ever see are posts that slam the GOP (not that its unwarranted). Don’t you have anything positive to say about your candidates? Can’t you provide any insight into how their policies will help the country (no, you can’t, cause they won’t). Or what are they hiding? Or is it that you don’t want to put your boys under the same microscope? Perhaps its because they are just a couple more of the hypocritical elitist that dominate Washington. Heard that Joe Biden made $2.4M last year, but gave less that $3k to charity. He is one of the ultra-rich and one of the enemy. He talks a big game, but when the rubber hits the road, he is off to the bank with his $$$ – bet that Obama lives his live the same way – big talk no action. So much for the little guy. That’s all you get from Democrats, make somebody else pay. We need a break from both parties. It’s time for a revolution to take back our Government.

Anyone else notice the striking similarity between:
    Obama Biden and
    Osama Bin Laden?
Who are you really supporting and do you really want to know?

  37. As I see it, the repub ticket is falling apart.

  38. NO spinning makes me dizzier that the moose skinner and the crazy white haired DUDE. not to be confused with the FIRST DUDE who has the arrogance to believe he can muddle in the government of alaska, without having an position in that government!just ALL more of the urban cowboy attitude of george w, “bring um on.” big talk for a man who’s policies now have this country imploding from within.

  39. tps,
Don’t count on it I think you better check the polls. They are not looking good for Obama he picked the wrong VP. With Hillary it was a sure win. Biden has been there to long he is part of the old guard.

  40. Voter preferences in the race for president are unchanged from where they stood over the weekend. John McCain still edges out Barack Obama, 47% to 45%, according to Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Sept. 12-14

  41. not to be confused with the FIRST DUDE who has the arrogance to believe he can muddle in the government of alaska, without having an position in that government

  42. JulieBrowni, your post does nothing but solidify the fact that Monegan, who was the Public Safety Director not the Police Chief, was not fired because he refused to fire the brother-in-law. Here is the MOTION FOR DETERMINATION OF NO PROBABLE CAUSE that has been filed by Palin’s attorneys and the emails and memo’s have been released that back up Palin’s statements.

    http://sistertoldjah.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/palinmotionfordetermination.pdf

You may not like the site this comes from but this is a copy of the actual legal document, not the rantings of the Daily Kos.

Also, here is the information from the emails and memo’s, also not from the Daily Kos, but from the actual emails and memo’s.

Whether anyone agrees on why she did what she did or on her policies, they will have a hard time making what she did illegal.

Like the Bridge to Nowhere and most of the other charges thrown at her from the Democrats, this is all just smoke and mirrors trying to discredit her on a personal level and it won’t work. It hasn’t worked against Obama (he has some really questionable stuff in his past) and it won’t work against Palin.

  43. Classic Liberal,
Your post is great!! lol lol lol

  47. Working Mom – Just wait ’til Michelle O gets in the White House. You want to see someone “muddle” in the Government, you ain’t seen nothing yet. She’s got a better grip on Barry’s leash that Joe Biden has on his wallet. We need another president who’s not afraid to wag his “finger” around the oval office (orifice?) and then pretend the American people are stupid enough to believe him! I read the different blogs and if I see nasty, uncalled for, sleasy slurs about the personal character of Sarah Palin (and you see a lot here) I occasionally post something.

I do find it interesting that some people here call Fox News the devil and actually say that the Daily Kos is a legitimate source of unbiased and true news.

  51. Working Mom,
Not meant to be read, it’s meant to point out that those living in glass houses….

As for, “Hate to tell you “..I’m not the one complaining about negativity.

  52. OldLefty,
    It’s still to long.

  53. 1) If elected, McCain will be the oldest to ever enter the office of president
    2) McCain has had multiple recurrences of melanoma, and another recurrence is a very real possibility. The 10 year recurrence rate for melanoma is 66%; McCain’s last recurrence was 8 years ago. After this many recurrences, the treatments necessary to prolong his life would be incapacitating.
    3) Despite the longevity of his mother, his father died at age 70 and his grandfather at 61.
    4) His time in captivity has clearly taken a physical toll on his body, so it’s reasonable to fear that his own life-expectancy has been compromised by that experience.
    5) It’s known that he takes at least 6 prescription medications, including ones for high cholesterol, high blood pressure and his kidneys. This means he is at increased risk for heart disease, stroke and kidney disease.
    6) He was a 2 pack-a-day smoker for 25 years, increasing his risk for other cancers.
    7) His medical history for just the last 8 years came to 1,173 PAGES.
    8) He has refused to make full disclosure of his medical records.

THAT is why the character and qualifications of his VP pick and the rationale behind his choice (if it was his choice) are not only relevant, but central to the debate over whether he deserves to be elected.

  54. OldLefty – Did not mean to insinuate that there was not an equal amount of negativity from the right – obviously there is (thanks for the extensive list though – hope your google engine still works). But, I would think that the party of “peace” and “love” would be more apt to try to extoll the virtures of their candidates as opposed to tearing down the virtues of others. Aren’t we better than this? Look at Alan’s list of posts on this site and there isn’t one that says why we should vote for O[s]ama Bi(nla)den. Just why we shouldn’t vote for the GOP.

  55. Classic Liberal,

While I get your point, if only liberals and Democrats were posting here, that’s what it WOULD be, (but we’d all be talking to other choir members)

There have been tons of positive stuff about our candidates, (yesterday I posted one page of many of Obama’s economic plan…talk about long!)

Right now, the news cycle is conservatives and Republicans claiming that Palin can be the president if need be.
When much of her popularity seems to be based on contradictions, (for the bridge, but claiming to be against it, earmarks, cutting funds for teen pregnancy homes etc), it WILL dominate the discussion.

When you DO talk about the good things, you usually just get ignored, or get more posts calling him a muslim, Marxist who wants to kill babies.

    It gets tiresome.

  56. Classic Liberal: The Left is absolutely perfect and holy. They will not tolerate you provoking them to do self-examination.

They will never do this.. never ever.

Thus the totally predictable tactic of theirs which is to change the subject.

These Leftists wouldn’t know an honest discussion if they saw one.

  57. oldLefty thinks if he chains together his favorite trivia items from the hate sites that he somehow has made a point.

  58. I love how the Hillary and Pelosi-haters are whining about sexism and misogyny.

Mickey: “As for interviews, I’m sure she will do a lot of them before the election, but she will do them when she wants to, not when you and the press wants her to.”

Excuse me?! If she’s going to ask for our votes, if she’s going to help determine the course of America’s future (what, is McCain going to keep her in the closet? Another waste of tax money!), if she’s going to shape social policy in the White House, and if she’s going to assume the presidency if god forbid something happens to McCain…

Then you’re damn right she’s got a responsibility to talk to us when WE want her to! Who the F does she think she is? Garbo?!

Sarah Palin is currently unavailable, pending “before the election,” and “when she wants to.”

    Obama/Biden NOW.

  59. Sahah said: Then you’re damn right she’s got a responsibility to talk to us when WE want her to! Who the F does she think she is? Garbo?!: No she don’t. She is obligated to speak and interview on a schedule set up by or agreed to by the McCain/Palin campaign. What you want is for her to be interview by some far left media person with an agenda.

Incidentally, she has speaking engagements and interviews already set up and not just with Hannity (which would be your next statement). And, you are not going to vote for her anyway so why do you care if she does or does not speak or why do you care care what she says? Answer. You don’t. Your argument just gives you another reason to trash her.

But go ahead and trash her. She is the Governor of Alaska and maybe the next Vice-President of the United States. Your are and will stll just be a Palin hating person posting that hate on some liberal blog site.

Wow. I did a whole post and didn’t ever once trash Obama and Biden. Wow.

  60. Enconomy is the issue

    http://mudflats.wordpress.com

  61. “I love how the Hillary and Pelosi-haters are whining about sexism and misogyny.”

The difference is , people oppose Pelosi because of things that are true

You maniacs hate Palin for things that aren’t true. You invent reasons to hate.

  62. You are a hypocrite if you condemn McCain for something that happened over 30 years ago and judge everything he has done since on that ONE mistake, but you give Bill Clinton a pass. I don’t give a rip if Clinton did or did not claim to be the father of family values.

How in the heck do you drag something up from so long ago and try to discount the man’s service since? If you want to do that, then wipe away everything good that half of Washington has done, because half of them get caught with their pants down.

  63. T Mason, the reason why we don’t give McCain a pass on anything that happened 30 years ago, is because your party DIDN’T give Clinton a pass on ANYTHING. Even the most banal gaffe in Clinton’s administration was fuel for hours of chattering, villifying, divisive and deconstructive criticism. If I’ve learned anything about the Neocons, it’s that they can dish it out, but they can’t take ANY OF IT.

  64. Lobo:

“(Palin) is obligated to speak and interview on a schedule set up by or agreed to by the McCain/Palin campaign. What you want is for her to be interview by some far left media person with an agenda.”
    – Dude, I just want her to be interviewed by anyone, instead of hiding.

“Incidentally, she has speaking engagements and interviews already set up and not just with Hannity (which would be your next statement).”
–Look, it’s been about 2.5 weeks since she was announced. And you’re right, the Hannity love-fest doesn’t really appeal to me, any more than a Biden interview with Air America.

“And, you are not going to vote for her anyway so why do you care if she does or does not speak or why do you care care what she says?”
–Well, Lobo, I guess it’s because I’m a selfless human being who believes that if someone’s going to be running as second-in-command of this country, she has an obligation to tell us what she’s about, even if we don’t agree with it. What I find interesting is all the Republicans ready to vote for Mrs. VP Mystery Candidate. We’ve seen moldy old interviews, smears, etc. Why not let her stand up by herself? Is she that bad?

“But go ahead and trash her. She is the Governor of Alaska and maybe the next Vice-President of the United States. Your are and will stll just be a Palin hating person posting that hate on some liberal blog site.”
    – I don’t know her enough to hate her. Or like her. And deep down, no one else seems to know much, either, except she’s apparently a weenie when it comes to being interviewed.

  65. Sarah said: T Mason, the reason why we don’t give McCain a pass on anything that happened 30 years ago, is because your party DIDN’T give Clinton a pass on ANYTHING.

There you go spinning again. The reason you don’t give McCain a pass on anything is because you hate him and all republicans and anyone or anything not liberal.

Here’s a flash for you. McCain probably don’t care whether you give him a pass or not. He don’t care if you vote for him or not. He don’t care if you like him or not. It’s all about you, ain’t it.

Actually republicans can pretty well take anything you libs deal out and pretty well put it right back in your face.

  66. Sarah:

I have said what I am going to say about the interview thing. You will see plenty before November 4th. And you libs really need to get off the ’she’s not experienced enough to be second in command’ line. Your first in command on the ticket is not experienced enough to be President, but you seem to be ok with that.

Want to talk about softball interviews, how about going back and check out (google) old interviews with Obama from the main stream media. Check out the first one he had with Charlie Gibson back in 2007. The closest thing to a real interview Obama has had was with O’Reilly and that wasn’t a hard interview. At least, he didn’t look down his nose at him like Gibson did to Palin. And he didn’t edit out 60% of the interview because he didn’t like the answers.

We don’t know a damn thing about Obama. We don’t know about his past with Ayers, Alinesky, and many more. We don’t know what he did as a community organizer except what he and his friends have said because most papers on him are under lock and key. Some guy finally got a judge to get some released a couple of weeks ago or so. We know about Obama what the DNC has let us know about Obama. That experience thing is a losing argument for you libs.

By your own admission, you don’t know Sarah Palin. And according to you no one else does. So why is this board along with every other left wing blog and most of the media and democrats as a whole spending 10 hours a day trashing her? I would never have voted for Hillary, but I sure didn’t like the way she was treated. I was pulling for her big time against Obama and I know she was more qualified than Obama to be President.

I will predict that the more you learn about Sarah Palin the more you will try to find something wrong with her and the more you will trash her. Everything you guys throw at her bounces off and she keeps on smiling. I’m going to guess you probably wouldn’t want to see her stop smiling. I also imagine she isn’t too very worried about Joe Biden. She’s been there and done that.

  67. Lobo: “The reason you don’t give McCain a pass on anything is because you hate him and all republicans and anyone or anything not liberal.”

    – You wish it were that easy, so your life could be simplified. Or maybe you’re projecting a single-minded hate of liberals onto everyone who doesn’t agree with you. Just black and white, no shades of gray. Time to grow up, Lobo, and abandon playground arguments where you huff, “Well…*splutter*…you’re just MEAN! And no one LIKES you! And….and…You’re spiteful! And mean! Yeah! Take that! Woo-hoo!”

Lobo: “Here’s a flash for you. McCain probably don’t care whether you give him a pass or not. He don’t care if you vote for him or not. He don’t care if you like him or not. It’s all about you, ain’t it.”

–Have you lost your mind?! Is this supposed to hurt my feelings, that McCain doesn’t know me from Adam? Hee hee hee! God love ya, I do actually like you, Lobo. Especially that post you made recently where you go, “Wow! I got through a whole post without trashing Obama or Biden!” I just wanted to hug ya. (By the way, it’s “he doesn’t,” not “he don’t.”)

Lobo: “Actually republicans can pretty well take anything you libs deal out and pretty well put it right back in your face.”

    – Yeah! And you’re rubber and I’m glue! And anything I say bounces off you and ….Oh, never mind. This is just ridiculous.

Anyway, I’ll let you go so you won’t miss your short bus. Behave!

  68. Didn’t any of you Repubs see the Charlie Gibson interview? If not, please watch it. If you did see it, why haven’t you slunk away in shame? Palin leaving Wasilla millions in debt, moralizing on abstinence-only, her anti-women ideology, flagrant absenteeism from the governor’s office, scandal-plagued nomination, and endless stream of lies won’t even matter once you hear the woman open her mouth without a teleprompter. Bush Doctrine? Never heard of that, Charlie. War with Russia? No problem.

Referring to the time when Palin was an intern in his office, her former boss told Rachel Maddow on The Rachel Maddow Show (Air America Radio) the other day, in response to Rachel’s question, “So was Sarah Palin SMART?” “Well, let me put it this way: she was nice. She was very nice.”

I want a SMART vice-president, not one who thinks she has foreign diplomacy skills because she can make out the hazy, gray outline of Siberia from the farthest Aleutian Island. (Yes, she repeated that shocking non-sequitur about living close to Russia). I want a president who has traveled extensively, not one caught claiming European travel (!) because she refueled in Ireland once. I’d been to 8 countries with my backpack by age 17, on my own dime, earned while making $3.00 an hour, because of a curiosity about the world. Palin is self-centered (beauty queen, tanning bed), incurious, disingenuous, and about one inch deep. Watch the interview, and if you’re not deeply embarrassed, perhaps you just can’t admit the truth about McCain, your Party, or your own standards.

  69. Donna: Your article is ok if the election was for class president , otherwise you show no clue about the importance of havi9ng a leader who says “Yes.. yes we will go to war with Russia if our treaty obligations compell us to”

    That’s a plus for Palin.

If you dont want to live in a country that doesn’t risk what it does for the liberty of itself and the world then leave and go to sweden

  70. Vince,

Sweden is part of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.

    Once again I ask,

    What are you talking about?

Sweden is a buddy of ours, don’t knock her.

  71. We have so many bad examples of leadership from the Bush /Republican / conservative party that people are not able to understand qualified/educated/comprehensive leadership. They have been shutout of reality by the lies they are feed from right wing politics. How do you re-energize complacient people?

  72. DONNA said (and a bunch more garbage): “Didn’t any of you Repubs see the Charlie Gibson interview?”

No Donna. No one in the world saw most of the interview because ABC edited out everything they didn’t like, which was about 60% or more, and pieced together what was left so as to put her in the worst light possible. But, it didn’t work. Now matter what you and your moonbat liberal friends think, she did just fine. The ‘gotcha’ question about the Bush Doctrine actually made Gibson look like the stupid one because he thought there was only 1 doctrine. So the ‘gotcha’ was on Gibson. Sorry, Charlie.

You, uh, umm, ah, might want to uh, umm, oh, look at your uh, umm, ‘chosen one’ before you uh, start questioning uh, someone’s uh intelligence. He can’t even speak without 14 speech writers and a teleprompter.

On Air America Radio. That joke of a radio station is about 10 rungs under the DailyKos. And that’s a hard place to get to.

  75. “SARAH AND FIRST DUDE ARE HIDING THEIR REAL IDENTITIES: SHE IS JEZEBEL AND HE IS AHAB!”

Seems your caps key is still stuck. But judging from the content of yours posts, you probably still won’t figure that out. You just have to tap the Caps Lock key one time to fix it.

  76. Yeah..I think Sarah Palin has alot to hide. It still just absolutely amazes me that you Reps think this woman is just freaking wonderful as a VP pick!

Heck, I think I’m more qualified to be VP of this country.

    1. I have a better education.
    2. I have been married to a forgeiner for years (that’s my forgein policy experience).
    3. I have been to many other countries(in other words,I just didn’t get my passport).
    4. I’m a member of the PTA.
    5. I’ve been a soccer mom.
    6. I’ve been a football mom.
    7. I’ve been a baseball mom.
    8. I did actually sell a jet on e-bay (yes, I’ll admit it was a remote control Mickey Mouse one).
    9. I am currently under investigation at work for abuse of power – it has been alleged that I stole a few packs of sticky notes from the office supply closet.
    10. I do wear lipstick sometimes.
    11. I drove across the 7 mile bridge in the Keys…and boy did that feel like I was going nowhere.
    12. I requested that the book with the purple colored Teletubbie in it be banned from my local library (now you know that promotes homosexuality don’t you).
    13. I can’t really explain my theory on why global warming is man-made, but I’m absolutely positive that it has something to do with abortion and/or Bill Clinton’s BJ.
    14. I happen to have a vagina.
    15. I have a high power job and I’m insulted when anybody raises any concerns or questions me – I go running into the restroom crying like someone just stole my barbie doll – those mean, arrogant, sexist pigs. Hillary never had to put up with this crap.
    16. I live in Pennsylvania, so that makes me an expert on the state of New Jersey.
    17. I don’t really even know what the VP’s duties are.
    18. Last night I had a dream that God told me it was our task to bomb Costa Rica.
    19. I respect the woman’s right of choice – as long as they make the choice I want them to make.
    20. I support making a woman who has been sexually assaulted and experiencing horrific trauma pay for her rape kit – those darn free-loaders are always looking for a handout.

But oh geez…never mind. I don’t think I’m qualified after all – I’ve never skinned a moose and I actually do have some family values.

I know, I know – I’m ready for the ever-so-predictable Reps response “well, Obama has no experience” blah..blah…blah…”he’s a Muslim”…blah..blah…blah.
    “he likes to kill babies”..blah..blah…blah…”he’s a Communist”…blah…blah…

Your insane, illogical banter is soooo old!

  77. DANIELLE:

Most of your post is the same ever-so-predictable Dims response we hear about Sarah Palin. No experience … let me make fun of her … blah … blah … blah …

YOUR insane, illogical banter is soooo old!Your ‘Chosen One’ is an empty suite with made up credintials and a background of dealings with every crook and thug in Chicago. He’s the … wait, that’s the top of your ticket. I’m sorry. I thought you were talking about the Vice-President. Wow. My bad.

Really. You babble on and on and on and never really say much of anything. Coming here and listening to you is a lot like going to the zoo. We just don’t have to leave home.

But we get it. You don’t like Sarah Palin. She outclasses you by leaps and bounds. So, don’t like her. She don’t need it. A lot of other people do.

You really do need to get over yourself.

  78. What is Sarah Palin hidding? If McCain and Palin win – shortly after it’s announced you will see her on stage and she pull off her wig and the county will be shocked to see that she is really Mayor Rudy Giuliani dressed in drag.

  79. Danielle, you’re a hoot.

  80. What is Alan Colmes hiding? What is Barrack Obama hiding? How often do you beat your wife, Alan? How long has Obama been a Communist bent on destroying this nation? Suggestive “complex questions” give away your intent – to create a rumor that isn’t true.

  81. Is John Locke a liberal in conservative’s clothing?

  82. It is possible to state facts and not be either. (No “gray” area, but there are Indians, Orientals, and many other ethnic groups, not just black or white, liberal or conservative, etc.)

  83. I am loving the fact that the dems talk more about our VP pick than they do their own presidential pick. There is an old saying “My name must taste good, because it is constantly on everyone’s lips”.

All the women on the left side of the aisle hate her because she is a strong, republican with morals they don’t understand nor like. They ASSume that if someone is different they must obviously be an idiot (which in itself is an ignorant assumption).

The worst part for the far left ladies is that Governor Palin, a REPUBLICAN, is doing what the left has claimed women should be able to do for years….work, have a family and think for herself. She is accomplishing what the democratic party refused to let Hillary do.

  84. All conservatives have talked about since Feb. 07 is Barack Obama.

  86. Don’t know what she is hiding but as the saying goes “the tail is wagging the dog”. The McCain/Palin ticket is telling WE THE PEOPLE who they want to be hired by what they will and will not discuss. I think WE THE PEOPLE(the possible employers) have a right to know both sides of the investigation before the election. I have so many things in my life that should make this ticket my choice. I am over 55, white, female and had a child at 42 with special needs. But right now I want to know how dirty are her hands in this. After working in management for more than 30 years I know you don’t just up and fire someone without justification. SHOW ME THE PROOF! Document, document, document.

  87. “Rape evidence kits are for collection purposes. If ANY medication is necessary a Doctor’s order is required before you can do that.”

It is usual for Emergency Contraception be given at the same time (or in conjunction with) the Rape Evidence kit.

Sarah Palin has stated she’s for forced birth (the group she belongs to, the so-called “Feminists for Life,” firm in their view that victims be forced to give birth to their rapist’s child.)

Palin hasn’t given any other reason why she insisted on throwing a wrench into proscecution of rapists, circumstantional evidence provides one.

“Saving the taxpayers” $5,000 – $14,000 seems an unlikely exscuse, as well as a drop in the bucket after she charged the city for a brand new $24,000 SUV (town council shocked at that.)

That penny pinching excuse also out of character while forcing the same small town into $20 million dollars of dept for a sports center.

  88. I read all the EDITED OUT portions of the Charlie Gibson interview – so much for your “no one in the world saw most of the interview” comment, Mickey. She just looked like that much MORE of a moron, incoherent and rambling, when you read the full text. (NewsBusters.org, a conservative site) I laughed out loud when NewsBusters opined that ABC deemed that those portions made Palin look “too intelligent” for ABC so they removed them. They make her look like someone running for high school student council! Truly astounding. While in Cesky Krumlov, (Czech Republic) in Apr, I spent 2 hrs talking to a young man from Prague who knew more about U.S. politics than any conservative I’ve yet read on this blog, and who was baffled at our “low-info voters” (he even knew the term.) No wonder Republicans want a “low-info” VP.

  89. WAKE UP AMERICA!SHE IS HIDING MORE THAN WE KNOW AND WHEN SHE WAS MAYOR SHE LEFT THEM IN DEBT. WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT PALIN AND PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PUT OUR FUTURE IN HER HANDS. WE AREN’T ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS OR DIG IN HER BACK GROUND, ESPECIALLY BY MCCAIN, HANNITY AND THE REST THAT ARE SPELL BOUND. HANNITY WAS SO PATHETIC DURING HIS INTERVIEW WITH HER, HE WAS LIKE A LITTLE BOY IN A CANDY SHOP, SICKING. AND WHEN HE ASKED HER ABOUT THE ATTACKS I THOUGHT I’D GO THROUGH THE TV,HE NEVER ASKED HER ABOUT ALL THE LIES SHE HAS BEEN TELLING,SO SWITCHED BACK TO CNN. HANNITY NEVER LETS UP WHEN IT COMES TO OBAMA. SHE HAS HAD NO LEGAL VETTING, WAS ASKED TO THE TICKET FOR POLITICAL REASONS,AND HEAVEN HELP ANYONE IF SHE IS ASKED QUESTIONS. HER INTERVIEWS ARE FULL OF AIR AND SO IS SHE,ESPECIALLY THE LIES HER AND MCCAIN TELL, HELP US IF THEY GET IN OFFICE, BECAUSE THEY WILL LEAVE OUR COUNTRY EVEN MORE BROKE THAN THE LAST JOB SHE HAD. LAST NIGHT SHE NEVER ANSWERED QUESTION ON RUSSIA, MCCAIN DID.SHE HIDES BEHIND SOMEONE ALL THE TIME AND SAYS THE SAME OLD LIES ALL THE TIME. AND BY THE WAY I WILL BE WATCHING CNN FROM NOW ON, BECAUSE I’M SICK OF CONSTANTLY SEEING OR HEARING ABOUT HER AND MCCAIN, AT LEAST CNN IS FAIR AND BALANCED WITH ALL THE CANDIDATES.AND AT LEAST THEY CHECK ON THEIR STATEMENTS TO LET US KNOW WHO IS LYING AND INTERVIEW PEOPLE THAT KNOW THEM GOOD OR BAD.BY THE WAY I VOTED REP. LAST TIME, BUT NOT THIS TIME AND I’M 59 YEARS OLD AND A WHITE WOMAN.

  90. THANK YOU carolyn! but be careful lobo doesn’t see your post because when he doesn’t like what you say he has to resort to insults, and he will tell you that you have nothing to bring to the table. cry baby.

  93. “JOHN McCAIN IS THE ONE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT”

Maybe someone should tell the GOP and John McCain that McCain is the one running for President. THE GOP reps are the ones stressing that “PALIN” is the “ONLY” one with executive experience. That means she allegedly has more experience than McCain. Palin is the one tauting a Palin-McCain administration with McCain as her running mate (how weird), GOP crowds are the ones who’d rather hear her read her speech than hear McCain read his. The GOP is the one always comparing Palin to Obama. So before you point out whose running…I think you may want to point that out to the GOP, not to a Democrat!!

  94. After reading the responses from republican readers, I now know that they are totally in the dark. May be some one should tell these reads, that Mrs.Palin is the one running a game on them; McCain is only her first down.

Mrs. Palin has only one characteristic over Mr. Obama and that he is “black”, and she’s “white” way to go all you concretive hypocrites. By the way you all should just stay home on Sundays and not attend church, because according to the Bible that I read most of you won’t be getting into Heaven anyway.
