Where has pride in this country gone. 2 candidates. 1 who gave up many years in his life for service of our beautiful country. Politics will always be a dirty game. I hate it. But respect John McCain for service that most liberals take for granted and protecting our liberties. What has Obama done for his country. I believe his spiritual advisor stated his opinion best “God Damn America” Love it or leave it.

MY FRIENDS, I think Alan is on to something here MY FRIENDS, because you know there is something REALLY creepy about John McCain saying MY FRIENDS to us ALL the time, when we r CLEARLY not his friend based on our opinion of who he might have been 8 years ago and who he is now MY FRIENDS after sucking up to the Christianist Right and Neoconservatives he detested MY FRIENDS.
So perhaps MY FRIENDS we should be using this MY FRIENDS just as much MY FRIENDS and as meaningfully MY FRIENDS as John McCain does MY FRIENDS?
September 21st, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Someone with good video chops should take McCain saying MY FRIENDS and mash it up with Mickey Rourke in “Barfly” saying the same.
The other great sketch this week was the NYT getting hammered on going to Alaska. Spot on.

naw they lost their touch…
Last week’s SNL was way more funny than this scene.
Not funny.
maybe true, but it wasn’t funny at all.
I think Colmes making dumb jokes on H&C to make people laugh at him because he is a liberal, is a little more funny than this scene.

[Obama] “He cannot speak without a teleprompter.”
yeah, like you really listened to his speechs.
For 8 years we had a president that sounds as if he barely passed 5th grade. McCain/Palin are no different. Anything off their talking points and they are lost.
Why is it that the republicans can’t find anyone that can at least speak as if they at least graduated from grade school?
Is being a great orator essential… No, but you should at least be able to espouse your ideas without sounding like a moron.

Tancredo Proposes Anti-Sharia Measure in Wake of U.K. Certification of Islamic Courts
“Jihad Prevention Act” would deny U.S. visas to advocates of ‘Sharia’ law, expel Islamists already here
WASHINGTON, DC – Amid disturbing revelations that the verdicts of Islamic Sharia courts are now legally binding in civil cases in the United Kingdom, U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) moved quickly today to introduce legislation designed to protect the United States from a similar fate.
According to recent news reports, a new network of Sharia courts in a half-dozen major cities in the U.K. have been empowered under British law to adjudicate a wide variety of legal cases ranging from divorces and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
“This is a case where truth is truly stranger than fiction,” said Tancredo. “Today the British people are learning a hard lesson about the consequences of massive, unrestricted immigration.”
Sharia law, favored by Muslim extremists around the world, often calls for brutal punishment – such as the stoning of women who are accused of adultery or have children out of wedlock, cutting off the hands of petty thieves and lashings for the casual consumption of alcohol. Under Sharia law, a woman is often required to provide numerous witnesses to prove rape allegations against an assailant – a near impossible task.
“When you have an immigration policy that allows for the importation of millions of radical Muslims, you are also importing their radical ideology – an ideology that is fundamentally hostile to the foundations of western democracy – such as gender equality, pluralism, and individual liberty,” said Tancredo. “The best way to safeguard America against the importation of the destructive effects of this poisonous ideology is to prevent its purveyors from coming here in the first place.”
Tancredo’s bill, dubbed the “Jihad Prevention Act,” would bar the entry of foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law. In addition, the legislation would make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense.
Tancredo pointed to the results of a recent poll conducted by the Centre for Social Cohesion as evidence that the U.S. should act to prevent the situation in Great Britain from replicating itself here in the United States. The poll found that some 40 percent of Muslim students in the United Kingdom support the introduction of Sharia law there, and 33 percent support the imposition of an Islamic Sharia-based government worldwide.
“We need to send a clear message that the only law we recognize here in America is the U.S. Constitution and the laws passed by our democratically elected representatives,” concluded Tancredo. “If you aren’t comfortable with that concept, you aren’t welcome in the United States

Obama secretly using PR Firm to produce videos that lie about Palin and then uses the Left wing to distrubute them, in violation of election laws.

Hope, Change, & Lies: Orchestrated “Grassroots” Smear Campaigns & the People that Run Them
…………the internet are being orchestrated by political partisans and are not an organic grassroots phenomenon led by the left wing fringe. Our findings follow.
Our research suggests that a subdivision of one of the largest public relations firms in the world most likely started and promulgated rumors about Sarah Palin that were known to be false. These rumors were spread in a surreptitious manner to avoid exposure.
It is also likely that the PR firm was paid by outside sources to run the smear campaign. While not conclusive, evidence suggests a link to the Barack Obama campaign. Namely:
- Evidence suggests that a YouTube video with false claims about Palin was uploaded and promoted by members of a professional PR firm.
- The family that runs the PR firm has extensive ties to the Democratic Party, the netroots, and are staunch Obama supporters.
- Evidence suggests that the firm engaged in a concerted effort to distribute the video in such a way that it would appear to have gone viral on its own. Yet this effort took place on company time.
- Evidence suggests that these distribution efforts included actions by at least one employee of the firm who is unconnected with the family running the company.
- The voice-over artist used in this supposedly amateur video is a professional.
- This same voice-over artist has worked extensively with David Axelrod’s firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as “astroturfing.”
- David Axelrod is Barack Obama’s chief media strategist.
- The same voice-over artist has worked directly for the Barack Obama campaign.

From Newsweek…
What is so unnerving about the candidacy of Sarah Palin is the degree to which she represents—and her supporters celebrate—the joyful marriage of confidence and ignorance. Watching her deny to Gibson that she had ever harbored the slightest doubt about her readiness to take command of the world’s only superpower, one got the feeling that Palin would gladly assume any responsibility on earth:
“Governor Palin, are you ready at this moment to perform surgery on this child’s brain?”
“Of course, Charlie. I have several boys of my own, and I’m an avid hunter.”
“But governor, this is neurosurgery, and you have no training as a surgeon of any kind.”
“That’s just the point, Charlie. The American people want change in how we make medical decisions in this country. And when faced with a challenge, you cannot blink.”

Hey Mr.Colmes , I think you should leave FOX and apply for a job at MSNBC.As a member of the Afrosphere Blogging group you should know of the worldwide boycott against FOX.I know at least 300,000 people in Germany who might be interested in it.Yes the people of the world can’t vote for Sen.Obama, but they can bankrupt Rupert racist butt, later.

I must have missed that part of the 1/3 of the interview that the ‘all barak channel’ abc presented. I guess my tv is glitching. As for Newsweek, I can’t look far enough to the left to read that rag mag.
It’s amazing how you libs continue to refuse to address the lack of bambi’s experience. But the American voting public sees and that’s why he can’t close the deal. He’s a shallow little guy that reads a teleprompter fairly well. Nothing more.

Fox News is always demeaning the other media, but they are clearly for McCain/Palin. Everything positive is said about McCain/Palin and everything negative is said about Obama/Biden. Sean Hannity( especially is low down and dirty), Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, etc. Doesn’t anyone ever notice that they only have guest that are for McCain- well they lost viewers! I turn to CNN, when I see Hannity’s face, I click him off!!! Hannity’s interview with Palin sounded scripted and did enyone noticed she kept looking down-I would say to view her notes. We all know that Hannity gave her the questions to study before the interview- and she still missed quite a few!!! Of course it fits Hannity’s character!!!
September 22nd, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Charlene,
I am assuming you don’t think CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC has an agenda? The fact is the anchors, journalists, reporters, commentators all have their opinion and it comes across on TV and in their editorials. Why do you think MSNBC barred Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman from providing election commentary? They were pro-Obama.
Hannity and Colmes does offer both sides. They always have a democratic strategist and a Republican strategist. Which side you pull for is all up to you.
If it isn’t one sided enough for you, turn the channel. That is what I do.

Your entire post is one big lie. You all have a clue what was or wasn’t given to her. You might keep in mind that Obama is the one that demands to have questions before an interview. I would be curious what questions she missed. And of course, you go to CNN .. you are a liberal and CNN is a liberal news communications company. If you ever really watched Fox News and still say they only have conservative guests on then you are either stupid or a liar. I vote for the later.

Dear Alan
I am not surprised by he disrespect toward John McCane. They make money by tratshing people. it is call comedy. If you are not laughing you are old (my daughter told me).
That is why people like us do not see SNL. It is easy to trash people. We have “National Enquarar.” SNL is that type only “they say it is comedy.” People there probably never learn the word “Respect.” O! May be it is money. Those people need money for Drug, Alchohol,
Music and Sex. That is known as “Party.”
SNL used to be good now they are trashy. May be I am a mother now and my outlook toward life has changed. One thing is good, more I see this more I get determination that I will vote for Sen. McCane.
I am older so, I understand that every TV and Radio talk show have an agenda. Fox and CNN try to be fair and balance. I realized that age have lots of impact in our lives. I strongly believe it is age that devides us. I was a super libaral when I was 22. I was Pro Choise. Back then I would have voted for Sen. Obama. Now, I have changed. I am Pro life now and I will vote for Sen. McCane.
September 22nd, 2008 at 7:22 pm
FOX and CNN are balanced.
Maybe you are old.
I think what you’re daughter was trying to tell you, is that what you see as aping your point of view, is being seen thru by the younger generation, who maybe looking deeper into issues than you are.
It is really hard to reconcile that after 8-years of a GOP led nation, we are in the tank.
We have gone to a war that we were lied to to get into.
Then we were lied to all the way up to the 2006 elections. Then suddenly everything we knew was wrong.
Sounds alot like McCain.
And we were losing this war.
Now, instead of staying the course and liberating these people, bringing them democracy.
We were now locked in a war with Al-Queda, where the hell did they come from. Why Iran of course, not Afghanistan.
And the young men and women continue to die.
And we slowly place the war back into the recesses of our mind, shortly behind a mortgage, car payment, electric, heating oil, phone, cable, internet, second mortgage, college educations for departing chidlren.
And then McCain comes on the scene.
We know his history.
He’s a true American hero. So, what does that mean, here is an honorable man!!!!
Then all you see of him is this man who will do anything to become president of the United States.
He was a prisoner of war…..fought for his country, came home suffering life-long disabilities from his battle to a country-divided. A wife who has suffered a crippling auto-accident.
And what does this honorable man do…he proceeds to leave this woman and move on. And just so happens to marry an heiress to a beer fortune.
As Bob Dylan sarcastically says in IDIOT WIND
“I can’t help it if I’m lucky.”
And now, you watch McCain run a
campaign but really never has a message until he selects another woman, as he runs away fromt he wreck of his campaign, and suddenly becomes the change agent.
But he also wages a campaign that possibly to you seems very normal but to the youngsters possibly contains loads of racial charged statements. And views form men who you know never watched Cosby, or any other showed that failed to offer a conciliatory bridge over the racial divide.
They say that the race is close for many reasons, but mostly they hear the adults talk, the understand that race is the most crucial issue involved in the election.
How else, could adults simply ignore or excuse the many
ways McCain and the right are laying it out for all to see.
And it is blantant.
So it is very funny to the young…but there really isn’t anyone out there showing that view.
Bill O’Reilly, do you think it takes an educated young voter long to see thru that act. Or the axcts that other so-called commentators are making.
They will dance around it and throw out the occasional off-hand comment.
But they won’t really discuss it.
Or relate it to the McCain campaign.
It is like McCain has said….hey who do you want to lead your change.
This Obama fellow, or Me and Miss Polly Purebread….
We won’t even change his message…so………….
And he can’t even say a word about it because if he does, he is playing the race card.
Yet we can throw this very sick strategy on the AMerican people, almost as insidious as the reasons to go to war in Iraq. McCain and the GOP are again trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
Sounds Rovian to me….and someone tell me, how can FOX news pretend to put ROve on the air and pretend he is just a commentator. How come if Hannity can go on daily about OBAMA is a muslim, or he is related to Rev. Wright and has radical affiliations……Why can;t Colmes question him each day about his role in the IRAQ was, or why he can just dismiss congressional attempts to get him to testify about anything.
Now that is Fair and Balanced.
But young people are so stupid they don’t see this.
So they look for someone to tell them the truth or at least present reality in the way they see it.
Because yes the best comedy show you the stumble and the fall…and we laugh at or along with the pain. But it also contains a grain of truth that resonates.
That makes the joke have depth and reach,
Because how else could this honorable man allow his campaign to turn into what it has turned into.
For someone who has professed to putting his country above everything else, he sures looks like a man who would abandon a woman who waited five years locked in her own prison for the brewery heiress.
Like I said he can’t help it if he’s lucky.
and the young men and women keep dying.
Now he offers lame solutions to a problem that will require a major shift within our country.
And he blasts Obama for not offering his viewpoint.
It like FDR in 1931….he wouldn’t give up alot of what he had in mind.
So that his opponent couldn’t counter it.
Well if Obama says anything, you be assure that McCain will certainly be coping it by the next day with a little spin.
McCain didn’t have a clue prior to Palin.
And of course the young didn’t see that.
It just seems that someone who actually applied themselves in college and avoided beer heiresses alogn his way to this moment of destiny might hae alittle more substance than someone as transparent as John McCain.
A man who one moment may tell you that Hillary CLinton is an ugly duckling and then turn around and try to tell you what an insult is to a woman.
And if he realy does know, then doesn’t it make his former comments allthe more indicative of the character the young see.
And as far as National Enquirer and SNL…..I think National Inquirer would sell its soul to be SNL!!!!
Being a liberal or a conservative isn’t the issue in this election…it is about giving a man who has come on the scene with a vision and hasn’t faltered from it.
He has had to play politics but he has done it in a dignified and respectful manner for the most part.
He has grown up in front of us and he has let us see it.
He is now what we made of him and he doesn’t run away from it or apoligize for it.
Now is that character.
He is a black man who goes out each day and commits himself to becomign the president of this country.
And we in white america, have heard the comments that no one wants to talk about. It is like we are having our souls shown to us, what do you really believe.
Do you believe that the best man should win…that this country needs at this time to have the best man possible for the task we face as a nation.
Do we all judge that man on the same criteria because if we do it is very evident to the young which one of the candidates actually seems to get what is going on.
Yes, Obama could have taken Hillary Clinton for a vice president it owuld have been the easy route.
But it would have been very disingenious of him to do so.
Hillary is a valuable element in the coming years but not as a vice-president.
Theere are stateside issues she could be a
very critical player in.
but who does McCain pick…as he walked from the wreckage of his campaign,
He picks a woman…
Isn’t that funny.
But she isn’t ready for the spotlight that is a national election so he tries to destroy the media.
It is the media, not John McCain, sound a lot like George Bush and Karl Rove.
Isn’t it funny to hear Carl Rover criticize the media for this. It is too surreal to believe but Fox NEws serves it up to the young.
And the young crank up the YOUTUBE videos.
And the young men and women keep on dying.
On a lighter note….
Does Obama’s relationship with William Ayres classify him as an expert in terrorism.
Is McCain immune from the hard held positions that have plaqued Rev. Wright. you know those age-related issues.
Or does McCain simply change his belief system like his wives.
What does McCain do when the country crashes….go to Canada!!!!
