Microsoft Uses Macs To Produce Ads To Convince Us Not To Use Macs
I’m a Mac person, even though I have to use Windows at work. But it’s hilarious that Microsoft needed to use Apple computers to produce their new ad campaign. The focus of the campaign is to keep their customers using their product and not defect to Apple.
The ad is called, ironically, “I’m a PC”.
No, you’re not.

The curious thing about some of the Apple ads is that you could read them as saying buy a Mac if you’re really cool and hip and down with it like an artiste, but if you’re a nuts and bolts business guy then PCs are the way to go.
I use a Mac at work and a PC at home and frankly I don’t see any difference, except that there’s ten million tons more software available for PCs.
And friends who use Macs seem to have their share of every kind of failure I’ve ever had with PCs.

I’m still a PC person because my work is primarily word processing, and internet hopping.
Admittedly, there are more than a few crappy PCs out there.
After having two of products melt down at under six months each, I can only say of HP “May Hewlett Packard and it’s bastard stepson Compaq die the death of a thousand suns!” Which apparently those Sonys did, when their batteries caught fire. Also: don’t mention the word Toshiba to my neighbor, who was forced to send his laptop back for repair 6 TIMES, before he gave up and junked it.
OK, PC’s are rapshoot now that China has programmed them all for planned obsolescene, and Macs are also key for those doing design and other more complicated computer work than mine.
However it doesn’t make sense for me to pay an extra $1,000 bucks for word processing and internet connection when my Dell chugs along nicely, and Consumer Reports seems to smile on Dell.

You would be a Mac user, Alan, you LIBRUL! (I’m not exactly sure how Apple equals liberal, but I’m sure the connection is there.)
Seriously, though, I’ve always used a PC but I’ve wanted to try a Mac. Windows is too buggy. And Vista…it’s like a bloated government…too much bureaucracy. Which, yes, has become and is becoming bigger under Bush. Anyway, Vista constantly asks if I want to do what I tell it I want it to do. I’ll stick with XP and a bigger virus/spyware/malware threat.

I doubt very seriously whether ‘Microsoft’ created this ad. Undoubtedly they contracted with an agency to create the ad, and most agencies use Macs on the creative side and PCs on the business side.

This has to be one of the funniest things I’ve heard for a while, other than the phony McCain adds. Mac V. Pc, or it should be Mac V. microsoft. Go mac better overall performance. But not all pc are bad. It all depends on your operating system. I’ve found Linnux to be great. Even better it, nad all of it’s applications are free. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Microsoft

UM CARA,
Software for use on Macs is limited, compared to IBM based machines. Unlike Microsofts XP or Vista, Linnux is a true computer operating system but software is limited for it too. Microsoft has bamboozled the public for years, but why stop now?

wow, Alan you use a Mac computer? it so much figures. Do you own a Saab also?
but everyone knows Microsoft bought Apple years ago and let them continue on
I think its not that Microsoft was SO brilliant, they were just lucky. people like to and liked to dig inside and re arrange the computer insides. you could do that with a pc, not with Mac.
The original pc-xt, who would have guessed.
yes Linux is great but its got a major flaw, its not Windows, or LNW (Linux’s Not Windows)

Judy “OK, PC’s are rapshoot now that China has programmed them all for planned obsolescene, and Macs are also key for those doing design and other more complicated computer work than mine.”
what is rapshoot? do you mean crapshoot? and what is crapshoot?
PC’s cannot be programmed for obsolescance by China, impossible, no way, never happen in a million years. really? explain, give examples

hehe that’s a funny story. but alan knows this is nitpicking. of course microsoft uses Macs too cuz they’re good for audio/video.
But honestly, we can find much more significant doings of Microsoft that are considered dishonest, dishonorable, or unethical, than using the competition’s product.
Alan just got a kick out of it cuz he’s a macman
