Palin Tells Heckler Her Son Is Fighting In Iraq For His Right To Protest
Only, I don’t believe that’s the reason we went there. Saddam Hussein, who no longer rules Iraq, was never a threat to our First Amendment rights. But that didn’t stop the Estero, Florida crowd from buying the rap.

Gosh darn it, Alan! Stop quibbling about the reason we’re at war, and start loving the troops! Why do you hate America so?
Don’t you know the troops are fighting for your right to cut out the Jewish stuff and become a perfect Christian already? Why do you hate God so much, anyways?
Now just look, you’ve made Baby Jesus cry! For pete’s sake and cry-yai-yai….
October 7th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Hahaha….good one, Sarah.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
You have wonder about someone who names her kids Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig.
Hmmm, let’s see. Snow Trac. Bristol Cream, a Spanish sherry bottled in Bristol, England. Willow the 1988 Lucas film. The Piper Super Cub flown in the Alaskan bush. Trigonometry?
Whoa.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
I’m with Alan, I don’t remember ‘protecting people’s right to heckle’ being amongst the reasons Bush gave for going to war with Iraq.
Palin is kooky. She needs to keep talking, assuming her goal is to get Obama elected.
More Palin rallies! Wooo!
October 7th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Now see, that is unnecessary Rocky. why do you have to make fun of someone’s children? Tacky, and low-class is what that is.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Yes, you are correct. Dictators typically believe in free speech rights and Saddam always enjoyed a good heckler! Radical islamic fundamentalists also are very much in favor of free speech. I bet Alan, not to mention Sarah and Cara, would look much better in a burqa. America should go the way of the Taliban. Put the women back where they belong. Barefoot in the kitchen and cooking little rottweiler puppies for dinner.
Don’t forget, Hamas supports Obamas!
October 7th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Frankly, Omar, I’m kinda wondering when the burqas are next. If Republican darling Phyllis Schlaffley had her way, we’d already be where you describe.
Frankly, with the “pre-emptive” goon squad at the RNC, and the burgeoning “no journalists!” attitude of Republicans, looks like America’s becoming more and more banana republic all the time.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Those who “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic” are regularly forced to this level of abstraction as a motivator, in the face of otherwise incomprehensible feedback from the citizenry.
Governor Palin is spot on here. Believe. Me.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Omar wants to put me in a burka:
Cara, would look much better in a burqa.
Dudes don’t wear Burkas, dude.
Put the women back where they belong. Barefoot in the kitchen and cooking little rottweiler puppies for dinner.
And you eat puppies? If Palin can decide that we are fighting for hecklers, I say I get to decide that we are fighting for puppies. Oh, and shoes too. Puppies and shoes, that’s what we are fighting for. And heckling. Puppies, shoes, and heckling.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
Sarah – you should start wearing your burqa now. It’s over. Obama’s victory is assured. It’s is only a matter of time until the entire american economy goes the way of California and Obama decimates the american defenses to save the national health care program. We will prevail and we will no longer tolerate your inane babbling.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
What bothers me is that it’s the Republican speeches that are always interrupted by these nut jobs.
How many Obama, Biden speeches are interrupted?
October 7th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
LLL, haven’t seen or heard of any. Crowd control happens there on a large scale from what I have read. I think he might receive less than positive reviews from the folks in TN while he is there. He hasn’t been to that state in over a year. Of course it wouldnt’ do him any good to campaign there from what I can see.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
It’s the left wing that likes to heckle the speeches. They are the radicals.
“Kill Him” was in reference to Ayers, not Obama.
I think Obama is going to lose, and there will be widespread riots. Newsweek had a great story that interviewed young black kids, including one named Daetwon, who said protests are already planned and he’s “down with that”.
October 7th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
LLL,
Daetwon has spoken, and if Daetwon says he’s ‘down’ with a riot, there will be a riot, rest assured.
White people!! Hey, WHITE PEOPLE!!!
Clean out that root cellar. Reinforce the doors. Grab your guns. Buy bottled water. Can some tomatoes. If you are Dan Quayle, can a potatoe.
Daetwon has warned us of the riots of the young black kids!
Just because they were so nice on The Fat Albert show, does NOT mean they will show you mercy! I’ve never met a black kid, but I tell you what – I’m afraid of just the name ‘Daetwon’ – it doesn’t sound very American to me.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Obama is going to lose. The polls are so exaggerated in his favor. Media wants to mentally defeat people so they stay home.
Why do polls favor Obama? Well, many white people are wary of telling pollsters that they are voting for McCain because of the negative stigma.
Also, Obama supporters are younger, and fanatical, and likely to seek out or cooperate with pollsters, b/c they want their voices to be heard.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
Hey, Omar. How ’bout we forget the burka and I just buy Birkenstocks instead? I figure I’ll need good footwear, since the price of gas is still pretty high.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Tokyo Rose of the Republican Party:
“Obama is going to lose, and there will be widespread riots. Give up, Democrat GIs. Your gen’l is about to wave the flag of surrender. Obama is going to lose. Polls are untrue: Many white people are wary of telling pollsters that they are voting for McCain because of the negative stigma. We will be victorious!”
October 7th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
The Palins’ un-American activities
Palin’s AIP organization tied to Iran.
AIP Volger: “My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”
But hey, Sarah P welcomes them, you betcha.
http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2008/10/07/palins_unamerican/
October 7th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark told me recently that Sarah Palin is her kind of gal. “She’s Alaskan to the bone … she sounds just like Joe Vogler.”
October 7th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
LOL Sarah – I’m reading your post with the accent and everything. Think I’ll open my bottle of Saki, since The Colonel never came through with the keg.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Think I liked them better when they wore their masks.
Palin Supporter Calls African American Sound Man An “Uppity Negro”
As I noted below, in his piece today about the abuse that Palin supporters heaped on reporters at a Florida rally yesterday, WaPo’s Dana Milbank wrote that one supporter had hurled an unspecified racial epithet at an African American sound man before saying, “sit down, boy.”
A reporter who was there tells me what that unspecified epithet was: “Uppity negro.”
Late Update: I should have made it clearer that this happened at a rally where Palin was stoking anger by attacking Katie Couric and the “mainstream media.”

October 7th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Um Cara, saki it to me!
October 7th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Sarah,
Did you read the Newsweek article about the potential for riots if Obama loses? No. You just flame on me because you want to distract, like most loser libs. That’s why I hate the libs. It has been taken over by elitist.
Even BLACK syndicated radio is talking about riots.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Conservatives seem to like pointing out that “our (”our” meaning “their”) troops” fight for our right to speak, but they don’t seem to like people with differing views utilizing that right.
Now, this guy may very well have been “heckling”, but I still make a valid point.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Sorry Sarah, you will not be allowed to show your face in public. The burqa is a must for you and Cara alike. Birkenstocks will be allowed only as necessary to walk to market. It is the will of Allah and so it shall be.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Freedom of Speech should not be interrupted. When someone is speaking, and you try to shout them out with your views, you are a threat to free speech.
I don’t like such troublemakers on both ends.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
Omar still wants me in a burka:
The burqa is a must for you and Cara alike.
But dude, I already told you dudes don’t wear burkas. ‘Um Cara’ is Brazilian Portuguese slang for ‘a dude’. I’m a dude. Once Barack wins you will be forced to learn a foreign language, then you will better understand my name.
We elite liberals have selected Brazilian Portuguese as the language you must learn Omar.
As it is written, so it shall be done. Brazilian Portuguese for Omar The Tent Maker. So say we all.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
LOL, UC
October 7th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Ms. Cara. What you fail to understand is that the elite liberals may be in charge for a short period after Obama wins. But, soon the language of the elite liberals will become Arabic and there will be no exceptions. We have no tolerance for Brazilian Portuguese speaking cross-dressing transvestites. Now, don your burqa and begin your pilgramage to Mecca.
October 7th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
Omar said:
Bah. I live in Brazil, they are mighty Catholic, and have as much an aversion to learning a foreign language as Americans.
The Pope will protect my right to be a cross-dressing transvestite…wait a minute, cross-dressing transvestite, so I’ll be a man who dresses as a woman but will cross-dress as a man? Is that it? Help me out Omar, I need to know what to wear to work in the morning. The tasteful gray skirt with the lavender blouse, or the blue polo shirt with khakis?
As if ‘business casual’ weren’t confusing enough, now I’m a cross-dressing transvestite for crying out loud!
October 7th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
$20 Omar’s into cross-dressing camels.
LLL: Would black riots be bad? Darn skippy. But nothing compared to the nation-rocking that’s been going on for the past 8 years. If the Republicans lose, I’m sure they’ll do their fair share of pillaging the country’s economy and morale.
Oh, wait. They’ve already done that, and they have most of the power right now. My bad.
As for, “When someone is speaking, and you try to shout them out with your views, you are a threat to free speech.”
Have you ever WATCHED Hannity & Colmes? Take a good look at who’s doing most of the shouting down and interrupting. It’s usually Colmes faced with 3 conservative pundits and Hannity the Calamity. See how easily Colmes gets a word in edgewise, especially when the control booth turns down his mike.
But, on principle, I agree with you. Interruptions are extremely annoying (especially when someone asks a question and you try to answer it!). The level of public discourse has plummeted. Civility’s gone by the wayside.
As best demonstrated by comments like, “That’s why I hate the libs.”
I’m also not sure about the “elitist” label the Republicans try to stick on Democrats or liberals. If anything, the Dems and libs are more egalitarian, than anything.
October 7th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
Would black riots be bad? you say! LOL. Nice comment. Makes sense.
October 7th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
LLL,
You’re harshin my mellow.
Re read Sarah’s post.
Apologize for being a dork.
Allow me to retain said mellow.
October 7th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Some blacks didn’t get the memo about the riots if obama doesn’t win. Is that under sick leave? or personal leave?
October 7th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Sepia,
I find it VERY hard to believe that you did not get the memo.
According to LLL:
Even BLACK syndicated radio is talking about riots.
Now, I could be wrong, but I get the impression from this post that you are black. And if you listen to the radio, I am quite sure you listen to the BLACK station.
Maybe your radio has been broken or something. Listen tomorrow, you will get the BLACK instructions.
October 7th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Ms. Cara. Allow me to clarify for the simple-minded. You will wear a burqa. Without the support of the Great Satan, the child molesting Catholic church and your insignificant country of Brazil will no longer be able to resist the will of Allah and you will follow the ways of the Quran. You shall be seen, but not heard.
October 7th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Golly! I’ve been listening to NPR….
October 7th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
Yea, yea, I know all that Omar.
What I need to know is what do I wear to work tomorrow?
October 7th, 2008 at 7:00 pm
Sepia ADMITTED:
Golly! I’ve been listening to NPR….
Ok Sepia, hold on just a minute then.
I think we are going to have to wait for a ruling from LLL to determine whether you are black or not.
October 7th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
No wonder you are a lapdog for Obama. You can’t even figure out what to wear without being instructed. You will wear a burqa.
October 7th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
I’m white. But I’ve been listening to black radio.
Just read the Newsweek article, people. The info is out there. It’s something that is going to be a serious issue as we get close to November.
Queston: It has been seven hours since the FBI raided ACORN offices in Vegas. This website still hasn’t mentioned it. Why not?
October 7th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
LLL,
What does the Newsweek piece say about rioting?
All it says is: already talk about protests and stuff if he loses, and I’m down for that.” Baisden hears a lot of that incipient resentment on his show, but he tries to soothe people rather than incite them. “Look, if he loses we have no one to blame but ourselves because that meant we all didn’t go out and vote in the numbers we should have,” says Baisden. “Yes, people will be upset, but it will be in a productive way. There will be a rational reaction if things are fair.”
If ACORN is doing something wrong, they should be prosecuted ….
But is it anything like:
The US attorney scandal..(using the Justice Dept. for politics)
Or ANY of these stories:
New Spoonamor
Interview – E-voting Machines are a National Security Threat
Last week, VR interviewed GOP Cyber security expert Stephen Spoonamore about the upcoming election and his testimony in the new Ohio litigation to take depositions of Karl Rove and others.
The video is posted in full below with ten short clips for You Tube viewing. This interview is so important and explosive that we urge everyone to watch it.
Spoonamore says that the GOP wanted e-voting to steal elections but now foreign governments will be hacking and the winner will be determined by the best hackers. He says that if the GOP wins the hacking competition, McCain will win 51.2 percent with three electoral votes over Obama, and it will be a stolen election.
Democratic precincts—enjoying record turnouts—were deprived of sufficient numbers of polling stations and voting machines, and many of the machines they had kept breaking down. After waiting long hours, many people went home without voting. Pro-Bush precincts almost always had enough voting machines, all working well to make voting quick and convenient.
A similar pattern was observed with student populations in several states: students at conservative Christian colleges had little or no wait at the polls, while students from liberal arts colleges were forced to line up for as long as ten hours, causing many to give up.
In Lucas County, Ohio, one polling place never opened; the voting machines were locked in an office and no one could find the key. In Hamilton County many absentee voters could not cast a Democratic vote for president because John Kerry’s name had been “accidentally” removed when Ralph Nader was taken off the ballot.
Walden O’Dell the former CEO of Diebold (the parent company of voting machine manufacturer Diebold Election Systems) was an active fundraiser for George W Bush’s re-election campaign and wrote in a fund-raising letter dated August 13, 2003, that he was committed “to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President.”
After Kerry conceded the election, the Green and Libertarian parties launched a recount of all eighty-eight counties in Ohio.
But election officials in Ohio worked outside the law to avoid hand recounts. According to charges brought by a special prosecutor in April, election officials in Cleveland fraudulently and secretly pre-counted precincts by hand to identify ones that would match the machine count. They then used these pre-screened precincts to select the ”random” sample of three percent used for the recount.
”If it didn’t balance, they excluded those precincts,” said the prosecutor, Kevin Baxter, who has filed felony indictments against three election workers in Cleveland. ”They screwed with the process and increased the probability, if not the certainty, that there would not be a full, countywide hand count.
Google this, and find it happened ALL over the country:
A number of students at the University of Pittsburgh who signed a medical-marijuana petition said they had their party registrations and polling places switched. Some students said they were told to sign and address a section of a voter registration form to verify their identity. It was later discovered that the rest of the form was completed by someone else, who registered the students as Republicans
It changed polling places for many students.
October 7th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
LOL @ UM CARA
October 7th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Frank Marshall Davis
October 7th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
LLL, I hate to have to explain this to you, but not all black people think the same way. Ignorant hillbilly…
October 7th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
I never said ALL black people ignoramus. Read the article. Daetwon is down with “protests”.
October 7th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
The USA went into Irak militarily in March of 2003 because of United Nations (UN) resolution 1441
Irak was hiding wmd’s. the first gulf war showed they had stockpiles. Irak surrendered back then after saying they would defeat the USA in the mother of all battles. Bush Sr. and staff made a huge mistake letting Hussein stay in power and causing genocide.
But the world worked together to rid Irak of wmd’s. it took years. as they got closer to some places? Hussein refused to allow the inspectors now what would you think? dont be stupid.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:11 am
For Alan to say Irak was never any threat to America, never any threat to Israel and all of the homocide bombers that Hussein paid for to murder Israeli civilians? what do you say about them, Alan?
You approve of such murder and defend the brutal dictator, its so incredibly bizzare. you claim to be Jewish yet would lie about murder against Israel and lie about what Hussein did.
you know what happened because you sat next to Sean Hannity talking about it. to now deny actual history to effect a presidential election is yellow journalism you are guilty of Alan. This is shameful
October 8th, 2008 at 1:16 am
Her son is not fighting for our right of free speech or for right to protest. He is fighting there in loyalty to his comander and chief. He is fighting because we’ve directed him to do so. He is following orders, and must believe in what he is doing. I have personal knowledge of what it is like to fight in a rather unpopular place…but, make no mistake…..it isn’t for us that he is there…it is for our country’s policies….directed by a civilian authority, but under the orders of his commander.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:20 am
rats….forgive the mispelled words.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:20 am
Jesus Christ Bradley, you’re not still hanging your hat on that United Nations resolution 1441, are you? How desperate are you?
You get some shonky wingbat lawyer to ‘interpret’ the wording of the resolution as a go-ahead to invade, even though the UN tried over and over again to talk you out of it? It was the US that forced the UN inspectors out of Iraq, after mocking Hans Blik for saying they were making real progress and things looked much better. Any of the neocons ever manage to apologise to Blik, by the way? Or to his American predecessor Scott Ritter who spent a couple of years being pilloried for claiming those WMDs didn’t exist?
History will get it right. Bush and Cheney are reckless adventurers who are responsible for hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths and for giving the mad ayatollahs the greatest gift they could wish for.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:34 am
Actually Robert, the Palin kid is not fighting per se at all, but acting as a security guard for senior officers – unlikely that he’ll ever get out of the Green Zone.
And he’s in Iraq not for any noble cause, but to avoid being jailed for, amongst other things, cutting the brake hoses on school buses. Charming little fugger.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:39 am
Yipes….sounds like several friends of mine from my SDS days……many, many, many, many years ago LOL
So many that I remember Stokely Carmichael LOL
October 8th, 2008 at 1:42 am
Seems to me Gov. Palin only appreciates freedom of speech for certain people. She doesn’t afford that same luxory to Rev. Wright, who I might add served his country as well and EARNED the right to speak his mind.
October 8th, 2008 at 7:53 am
Faith,
Please direct me to the information that you are basing your opinion on.
Where has McCain or Palin or the RNC in general ever said that Rev. Wright doesn’t have or shouldn’t have the right to enjoy his freedom of speech?
October 8th, 2008 at 10:24 am
Hey! Palin my daughter is fighting in Iark, Also(too). (ALSO) She just gave birth to a baby with Spinal Bifida.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
You can say whatever you want to. But that doesn’t meet you won’t fall under scrutiny for what you say. We are only guaranteed the right to free speech, not the right to not suffer consequences for that free speech.
October 8th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Robert Blair: “I remember Stokely Carmichael”
OMG! Are you for real, or are you making it up? When I was in college, I went to his presentation (he was Kwame Ture then) and I asked him personally afterward why he hated white people and Jews so much! Heee heee heee! Ah, my Republican salad days.
Um Cara: Omar seems a little, you know, “off,” but I gotta say, knowing a tent-maker could really come in handy when Depression II sets in!
October 8th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Bernie,
Thank you for noting that this is my opinion, and since it is MY opinion, I have no need to direct you to where I retrieved this information. I can only conclude this to be true since Gov. Palin was quick to note the hecklers’ freedom of speech. She nor Sen. McCain, while condemning Rev. Wright for his remarks, has never mentioned his rights to speak his mind. Since condemning him, where was Gov. Palin when a spectator at her rally yelled “kill him” and another spectator yelled “terrorist” while at Sen. McCains’ rally. Where was the condemnation for either of these people. IN MY OPINION their philosophy seems to be if you can exploit it, use it.
T.Mason
As far as concequences go-while I realize freedom of speech has its consequences, let’s afford all freedom of speech that we deem offensive the same accountability, unless, of course, it adds “value” to your agenda.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Alan, you make me sooo crazy!!! All soldiers, sailors and airmen serve to uphold our constitution. Everyday they serve, everywhere they serve, at home or abroad. You have enough real arguements (although I disagree with them) that it doesn’t serve you well when you nitpick like this. Be a respectable newsman, not a political hack.
October 10th, 2008 at 2:39 am
