John McCain Shamefully Approves This Message

He’s reduced to attacking Barack Obama’s candor and integrity. On a day the market tumbles below 9,000, McCain puts out an ad once again attacking Barack Obama because of Bill Ayres.
1. Obama hasn’t “hidden” his association with Bill Ayres.
2. They “worked together” years ago.
3. The “radical education foundation” was funded by Republican Reagan friend and confidante Walter Annenberg.
4. He said a lot more than “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”
5. The John McCain who once said “I will not take the low road to the highest office in the land” would never have approved this message.
So what does this ad really prove?
It proves that Barack Obama CAN TALK TO OUR ENEMIES and maybe have some chance of getting something accomplished, instead of just BOMB BOMB BOMB Iran, along with anyone else we don’t happen to like.
We can’t just bomb and kill everybody, because there comes a point when the rest of the world, including our allies, looks at us and wonders, “Who the hell are these lunatics going to bomb next?”

The current John McCain is an empty shell of the man who once had principles and integrity. Whether it was the beatdown he suffered from Dubya in 2000, the prospect of becoming president of the US or a combination of both, the sad truth is that he’s sold out and lost his way now.
But hey, Palin really was against the Bridge to Nowhere and didn’t try to get more federal money for her Alaskan citizens, and the fundamentals of our economy really are really strong right now…

Regardless of the polls, McCain continues to spur on a race for the bottom of the swamp. He, and his campaign, will find that sleeze, innuendo, direct lies, false accusations appealing to the base fear of “the stranger”, and other tactics that would make even McCarthy blush will not yield the results they anticipate. They will lose even more than they have already. They are losing the respect of the general electorate, no matter who the voters chose in November. What credibility would remain after such tactics? Do people respect Karl and his kids? Do people respcet Bush? The point is winning at any cost isn’t winning…it’s losing.
McCain will, none the less, lose the election. The question only remains about the margin. It may be worse than the RNC ever imagined. The downticket losses due to this misjudgment of the the McCain campaign is monsterous.

We must all hope that, like King’s, Mr. Obama’s dream is “deeply rooted in the American dream.” But before giving him the keys to the White House, Americans might like to know a little more about the content of Mr. Obama’s dream.
Let me propose an unlikely place to start looking: Kenya. Even in the midst of the primaries, the horrific scenes from that country since the disputed election on December 27 will not have escaped most people. In particular, the burning of a church with up to 50 men, women, and children inside, while machete-armed mobs slaughter up to 600 more people, have evoked memories of the Rwandan genocide of 1994.

In August 2006, Mr. Obama visited Kenya and spoke in support of Mr. Odinga’s candidacy at rallies in Nairobi. The Web site Atlas Shrugs has even posted a photograph of the two men side by side. More recently, Mr. Odinga says that Mr. Obama interrupted his campaigning in New Hampshire to have a telephone conversation with his African cousin about the constitutional crisis in Kenya.
What should Americans make of Mr. Obama’s Kenyan connection? If he has been putting tribal or family considerations above America’s national interest by supporting Mr. Odinga’s anti-Western candidacy, it raises serious questions about his judgement.
At the time of his visit in 2006, President Kibaki’s spokesman complained that Mr. Obama was behaving like a “stooge” of Mr. Odinga — which was at best undignified for a visiting American senator, and at worst unwarranted interference in the internal politics of another country.
Even more serious are the doubts raised by Mr. Obama’s attitude toward Islam, which has so far received much less scrutiny than might be expected in a post-September 11 presidential election.
If Mr. Obama did not know about Mr. Odinga’s electoral deal with the Kenyan Islamists when he offered his support, then he should have known. If he did know, then he is guilty of lending the prestige of his office to America’s enemies in the global war on terror. We need to know exactly what Mr. Obama knew about Mr. Odinga, and precisely when he knew it.

The Republican vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, said recently, “It’s time that normal Joe Six-Pack American is finally represented in the position of vice presidency.” She referred once again to “Joe Six-Pack” in the debate with Sen. Joe Biden.
I am not entirely sure what she means. But I think it is that the average person should be represented in the highest leadership posts in the land – not the smartest, the most well-educated or the most well-read, but rather someone who is, well, mediocre.

There’s zero talk on the controversy of the Vietnam War, and the people/organizations that stood against it, and WHY they stood against it. Who is Annenberg, what did their foundation proclaim as its goal, what about their board members and their behavior? what is the link between Annenbergs main office and the money getting to Bill Ayers? what is the money trail?
Did Ayers host a meeting to launch Annenbergs political career from his living room? did they work together? have lots of friends with the same viewpoint?
Those are some main questions. Seems like a foundation looks to put money in the community where it will do good. someone says we help education, ok you get a grant. that someone looks to help education programs and Ayers applied and had Obama use his clout and reputation to show they deserve the cash and won the grant. Obama then worked with Ayers to distribute cash to radical extremist groups who would teach anarchy and killing parents and overthrow of capitalism

No one is debating that John McCain at one time exhibited great bravery in Vienam that I don’t think I would have possessed. How that changes what he has done the past few weeks, inciting his supporters to call Obama a terrorist while refusing to engage Obama directly on the matter, hiding behind surrogates and their sleazy innuendo, not mentioning the subject even though the gloves are “off” yet hoping upon hope that someone will ask him about it, is beyond me. That Governor Palin requires coaching in order to say that she reads, among other things, the New York Times, does not say much for either the quantity or quality of her intellectual activities, and while a certain segment of the population may admire someone “you can sit down and have a beer with” anyone applying for the presidency of the United State should probably have some additional qualifications, of which Palin appears to have scant few.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are trying to induce panic, while the nation is sinking under a horrible economic situation, McCain decides that his “stop everything I’m doing and get to work on saving the country’s economy” didn’t work as well as he planned since he is still under on the polls. So what does he decide to do run his campaign based on inducing panic to the citizens of this country by making uninformed accusations, attacking his opponent in despicable ways that are not worthy of the man he once was. If McCain knew that Obama had terrorist ties, why wait till now?
We do not need any more panic in this country we need change!

Ayers and obama WERE close. They dispersed money to community organizations who came into schools, which by the way did NOT improve education. Ayers was more interested in radicalizing the children, instead of providing them with reading/writing/science, etc.
Now obama is saying he thought he was rehabilitated? First, he didn’t really know him, then he knew him but not that well, then he knew him but didn’t know he was a terrorist, now he knew him knew he was a terrorist but thought he had been rehabilitated.

Palin that they should be ashamed of. How a grown man, a former POW, could incite such hatred is beyond me. He has lost all respect and shouldn’t be allowed to lead this great land. If he can inspire all this hate here in America what do you think he’ll inspire in other countries. Who would want to be our ally? He and Gov. Palin owe Sen. Obama and this country an apology.
As far as Mr. Ayers goes, he did some horrendous things many years ago, he has been spending the latter part of his life teaching social justice. Urban educational reform and troubled children are his special interests. He’s been trying to make right for the things he did wrong. He never said he wished he’d done more to interperet to mean bombs, what he did say was “we didn’t do enough” referring to the fact that “we” as Americans should have done more to stop the Vietnam war. Yes, he was a radical, yes the weathermen bombed buildings, their intention was never to harm any persons only to attract the attention of the government. He did what he thought was important and the only way to stop the Vietnam war, granted it was antilogical to think these acts could or would end the war and not think of the repercussions and no, I don’t condone what he did. The fact is that was many years ago, Sen. Obama was eight yrs. old and when he met Mr. Ayers, he was, as far as he knew a valued citizen.

This evening, I saw a glimmer of the old John McCain.
After losing effective control over the slime machine, sliding even further in the polls (overall), and seeing his own negatives increase, John took a few tentative steps. He addressed a man’s unnatural fears indicating that Obama was a “decent man” and that the guy should not “fear an Obama presidency”. Further, he actually corrected a woman who believed Obama to be an “Arab”. He stated that Obama was a “decent family man, a patriot, and a good man”. These are a direct contradictory direction from his campaign this week. I saw remorse in his face. I saw the honesty return some of the light that has been missing this week.
No, I won’t vote for him, but I don’t want him to decend into the bog of dishonor, and disrespect that he was falling.
I’m not sure what he will do, but it was a bit of hope that he has refound his soul.

This all goes to show that one person’s “terrorist” is another person’s freedom fighter or education reform advocate.
