John McCain Shamefully Approves This Message

October 9th, 2008, 6:13 PM EDT

He’s reduced to attacking Barack Obama’s candor and integrity.  On a day the market tumbles below 9,000, McCain puts out an ad once again attacking Barack Obama because of Bill Ayres.

1. Obama hasn’t “hidden” his association with Bill Ayres.

2. They “worked together” years ago.

3. The “radical education foundation” was funded by Republican Reagan friend and confidante Walter Annenberg.

4. He said a lot more than “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

5. The John McCain who once said “I will not take the low road to the highest office in the land” would never have approved this message.

Responses to this post...

  1. So what does this ad really prove?

It proves that Barack Obama CAN TALK TO OUR ENEMIES and maybe have some chance of getting something accomplished, instead of just BOMB BOMB BOMB Iran, along with anyone else we don’t happen to like.

We can’t just bomb and kill everybody, because there comes a point when the rest of the world, including our allies, looks at us and wonders, “Who the hell are these lunatics going to bomb next?”

  2. The current John McCain is an empty shell of the man who once had principles and integrity. Whether it was the beatdown he suffered from Dubya in 2000, the prospect of becoming president of the US or a combination of both, the sad truth is that he’s sold out and lost his way now.

But hey, Palin really was against the Bridge to Nowhere and didn’t try to get more federal money for her Alaskan citizens, and the fundamentals of our economy really are really strong right now…

  3. Regardless of the polls, McCain continues to spur on a race for the bottom of the swamp. He, and his campaign, will find that sleeze, innuendo, direct lies, false accusations appealing to the base fear of “the stranger”, and other tactics that would make even McCarthy blush will not yield the results they anticipate. They will lose even more than they have already. They are losing the respect of the general electorate, no matter who the voters chose in November. What credibility would remain after such tactics? Do people respect Karl and his kids? Do people respcet Bush? The point is winning at any cost isn’t winning…it’s losing.
McCain will, none the less, lose the election. The question only remains about the margin. It may be worse than the RNC ever imagined. The downticket losses due to this misjudgment of the the McCain campaign is monsterous.

  4. McCain must be living in a parallel universe.

  5. Send Molder and Sculley…we’ve found the alien.

  6. ALAN I DIDN’T KNOW THEY ALLOWED YOU A SPACE…NOW I KNOW

  7. The shift key is under your little fingers of either hand.

  8. ALAN I HOPE EVERY SUBSEQUENT OBAMA SUPPORTER TAKES THE CUE FROM GIBBS SHOUT THEM DOWN TOO,REMEMBER YOU HAVE A MIC TOO…I HOPE THEY PICK UP ON THIS….EVERY TIME YOU PUNCH A BULLY IN THE MOUTH THEY USUALLY TURN AND RUN

  9. BY THE WAY DIDN’T HANNITY JUST SIGN A 20 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT,WHICH BY THE WAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH,BUT HOW DOES HANNITY IDENTIFY WITH JOE SIX PACK?

  10. no, Sean Hannity is nothing like “Joe six pack”….
    (I can’t believe I’m going to say this…I’m actually defending Hannity??}
Sean Hannity has a baseline IQ of over 20.

  11. Now, having said that….I think your heart is in the right place, “That One”…..

  12. Who the hell is ‘joe six pack’ anyway? And does he actually want to be called ‘joe six pack’ or does he find that as condescending as it sounds to me.

  13. It was a character (cartoon) on a series (the title escapes me at present)…..it was a guy who drank way too much and way too often and ended up with zero money because of it…

I have no idea if Hannity is conscious enough to know what he wants without checking his republican talking points memo for the day.

  14. I have been desperately trying to divest myself of GM all day! Perhaps Alan’s listeners can help.

For Sale 1991 cavalier, great car from a great company.
    Cheap.

  15. oh you liberals are so intelligent. mccain has lost his mind, palin cant read. jeez, is this the best arguments you panty waste leftys can bring. “joe six pack” doesnt know anything but yet he is smart enough to keep the government out of our lives and let their idiot children strive in a capitalist system. a system you hacks cant stand b/c you’re too stupid to do things on your own. all you can do is b*tch like those “educators” taught you how to do in school. go smoke a tree hippies.

  16. “Keep the gov’t out of our lives’?

Is that what the Republicans have been doing?

    Are you kidding?

  17. Joe six pack was a cartoon character who lost his mind and everything else from drinking too much. She may think it’s cool, but most don’t.
“keep the government out of our lives” Terry Shivo anyone?
Thanks, Alanisaconservative, I was getting almost sympathetic to the republicans in their inevitable loss in November….you just helped me lose whatever sympathy I was building.

  18. “go smoke a tree hippies”
Thank you, thank you, thank you. No one has said that to me in over 35 years.

  19. Bad Mr. Frosty (great name, by the way)

    I think

Keep the government out of our lives

Means, ‘make sure the very wealthy pay less taxes’

  20. “Keep the gov’t out of our lives’?
Terry Shivo legislation sponsored by Republicans anyone?

  21. you think bush is a conservative? hahaha that is funny

the “American dream” is great untill you make more than 250K…then you’re a devil, the rich king who has robinhood (obama and the govt) come steal your earnings. you dumb*ss libs probably think stocks are going down b/c of bush. stocks are falling b/c investors see what is happening or going to happen in the next few months. complete democratic control of Washington. you know what that tells investors, get your money out before the great one and his allys come and steal it. obama’s poll numbers go up…the stock market goes down.

also. I wrote this in alot more detail and I must of used profanity b/c it didnt go through.

  23. when Dan Rather released the fake rathergate papers on GW Bush in 2004 supposedly about Bushes military service, it was a lie. thats the mindset of liars who dont care about lying.

When the facts about Bill Ayers are made public, and how Obama worked closely with Ayers and they found each other so likeable that Ayers said hey Obama come to my living room and we will launch your political career. Sounds as if they think alike and are friends.

Now its coming out that Obama was part of a socialist party back then.

Bringing out these facts is not digging in the mud its giving Americans the information they deserve to have. The liberal left networks are hiding these facts since they are biased hard left and using their networks to make Obama win.

Because of the liberal mainstream media covering up Obama’s history with Bill Ayers they are sensitive when its brought out, but dont call it shameful or trash talk, its letting voters know what Obama’s judgement is like

  24. The Kenya Connection
    By DANIEL JOHNSON | January 10, 2008

We must all hope that, like King’s, Mr. Obama’s dream is “deeply rooted in the American dream.” But before giving him the keys to the White House, Americans might like to know a little more about the content of Mr. Obama’s dream.

Let me propose an unlikely place to start looking: Kenya. Even in the midst of the primaries, the horrific scenes from that country since the disputed election on December 27 will not have escaped most people. In particular, the burning of a church with up to 50 men, women, and children inside, while machete-armed mobs slaughter up to 600 more people, have evoked memories of the Rwandan genocide of 1994.

  25. In August 2006, Mr. Obama visited Kenya and spoke in support of Mr. Odinga’s candidacy at rallies in Nairobi. The Web site Atlas Shrugs has even posted a photograph of the two men side by side. More recently, Mr. Odinga says that Mr. Obama interrupted his campaigning in New Hampshire to have a telephone conversation with his African cousin about the constitutional crisis in Kenya.

What should Americans make of Mr. Obama’s Kenyan connection? If he has been putting tribal or family considerations above America’s national interest by supporting Mr. Odinga’s anti-Western candidacy, it raises serious questions about his judgement.

At the time of his visit in 2006, President Kibaki’s spokesman complained that Mr. Obama was behaving like a “stooge” of Mr. Odinga — which was at best undignified for a visiting American senator, and at worst unwarranted interference in the internal politics of another country.

Even more serious are the doubts raised by Mr. Obama’s attitude toward Islam, which has so far received much less scrutiny than might be expected in a post-September 11 presidential election.

If Mr. Obama did not know about Mr. Odinga’s electoral deal with the Kenyan Islamists when he offered his support, then he should have known. If he did know, then he is guilty of lending the prestige of his office to America’s enemies in the global war on terror. We need to know exactly what Mr. Obama knew about Mr. Odinga, and precisely when he knew it.

  26. Stop it, McCain! Your dirty campaign is the lowest of the low. You should stop this. This garbage is what got Jack Kennedy murdered in Dallas. Have you NO shame. Please be a real maverick and stop this…you are better than this.

  27. It really is so sad that McCain has sunk as low as the people who did the same thin to him.

  28. JFK was incompetent, just like Obama is; JFK was a criminal who used drugs and prostitutes in the whitehouse this made him Bill Clinton’s favorite president and idol

It appears JFK had Marilyn Monroe murdered the day before she had asked to hold a press conference to say something. JFKs brother Sen Ted Kennedy murdered MaryJo Kapecne

Obama has no business being president, its dispicable that such a socialist islam friendly phoney is rated as tied or ahead in the polls

who likes Obama? the black reparationist types, the black panthers, black racists, black rap artists, hollywood extremists

Obama is too far to the left, he does not represent Americans, he does represent Bill Ayers

  29. Bradley: News update! Barry and Bill were seen in the Ayer’s house making pipe bombs. Be afraid, be very afraid.

  33. “its dispicable that such a socialist islam friendly phoney”

I guess when you have a KGB mentality running the white house the last 8 years, anyone else might make you uncomfortable.

  34. Barack Obama CAN TALK TO OUR ENEMIES

No one denies that America should talk to “enemies” when appropriate. What we object to, and apparently you don’t, is that the President talk to our enemies. Ya know, without precondition.

“Who the hell are these lunatics going to bomb next?”

Who the hell did we bomb before?

Palin really was against the Bridge to Nowhere

You understand that the money still came to Alaska, just without the language that insisted it be spent on the bridge?

he fundamentals of our economy really are really strong right now…

Do you even KNOW what the fundamentals of the economy are?

Who the hell is ‘joe six pack’ anyway?

Reference to your average guy in America.

‘make sure the very wealthy pay less taxes’

The wealthy actually pay more taxes. Than anyone. And not even proportional. They pay more than their share.

Oh yeah, and lets not forget this one:

Obama’s communications director, Robert Gibbs, appeared to waffle on the issue, saying: “I don’t know when Barack Obama found out, I don’t know at what point. It’s something that I would be more than happy to ask him.”

I am sure we’ll see THAT on SNL?

Now, there is a source for fine journalism. You might have quoted Pravda and been more accurate.

For myself, I’m a bit interested in all the reading material the Alaskan governor reads tomorrow morning when the report on the abuse of power investigation is presented. It’s interesting to me that tonight Palin and McCain put out a pre emptive statement about how innocent she is no matter what the official report reveals tomorrow morning. Is this a cue that tomorrow morning with be Sarah’s October surprise?

  37. “joe six pack”??

    average guy in america???

does this imply that an average American guy drinks a six pack a night??? and that makes him average, an alcoholic??? dude, I don’t know who you hang out, but someone drinking a six pack a night is not average. They are called losers.

  38. No, we have had a true American Christian leader with excellent values running the WhiteHouse the past 8 years.

To you who hate such values it does make you uncomfortable

  39. more joe six pack-where mediocre is enough

    http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/letters/bal-ed.le.letters09o21oct09,0,3134514.story

The Republican vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, said recently, “It’s time that normal Joe Six-Pack American is finally represented in the position of vice presidency.” She referred once again to “Joe Six-Pack” in the debate with Sen. Joe Biden.

I am not entirely sure what she means. But I think it is that the average person should be represented in the highest leadership posts in the land – not the smartest, the most well-educated or the most well-read, but rather someone who is, well, mediocre.

  40. “What should Americans make of Mr. Obama’s Kenyan connection?”

and what did you make of Bush’s connection to the Bin Laden family?

  41. WTF, do you understand that neither Palin nor Bush are running for President? Though, to be fair, both are more qualified that Obama. I cede your point.

  42. “What should Americans make of Mr. Obama’s Kenyan connection?”

and what do make of the Palin’s connection to the anti-american AIP group.

  43. WTF, why can’t you defend Obama? Why do you feel the need to attack people not running for President?

  44. “What should Americans make of Mr. Obama’s Kenyan connection?”

And what do you make of mccains connection to annenberg who was friendly with ayers.

  45. quote: “and what did you make of Bush’s connection to the Bin Laden family?”

You file it under disproven conspiracy theories. You categorize people who promote it as ignorant (at best) or kool aid drinkers or crackpots.

  46. ““What should Americans make of Mr. Obama’s Kenyan connection?”

And what do you make of McCains connecttion to Right Wing Death Squads and terrorists during Iran contra affair.

  47. And what do you make of mccains connection to annenberg who was friendly with ayers.

no, dont you dare talk about that, its off limits and just dont even say another thing about it, I forbid it.

  48. And what do you make of McCains connecttion to Right Wing Death Squads and terrorists during Iran contra affair.

It was you democrats who were allied with the communists from the USSR and the murderous death squads like the Sandanista’s. right wing death squads? did you make that up or just misquote something?

If the details are examined lets see where the chips fall, if McCain did something wrong I want to know about it

  49. these right wing kkk neocons are an absolute disgrace to this country. Fortunately America is better than what these extremists have been able to do to tear this country down. It will take some hard work, but the people CAN take this country back from the hate spewed by the neocons.

  50. What pisses me off the most about the Obama/Ayers connection controversy is that there’s NO talk about why Ayers believed what he did. There’s zero talk on the controversy of the Vietnam War, and the people/organizations that stood against it, and WHY they stood against it. All you hear is that Ayers was a damned radical fighting AGAINST our government. Perhaps Ayers was fighting against government leaders and policies that were taking America AWAY from the philosophical and humanistic intelligence that our country was born from.

Wait, no. Because if that were true, you’d hear pundits talking about it. Right???

  51. so is annenberg a terrorist sympathizer?????

  52. Mccain is just repeating talking points from the hate-monger SEAN HANNITY.Palin-ization is not working. So Hannit-ization is a last, desperate resort.

  53. oh well… there goes the neighborhood

  54. quote: so is annenberg a terrorist sympathizer?????

Do you really want to know or are you just aksing to make an indirect accusation?

Who is Annenberg, what did their foundation proclaim as its goal, what about their board members and their behavior? what is the link between Annenbergs main office and the money getting to Bill Ayers? what is the money trail?

Did Ayers host a meeting to launch Annenbergs political career from his living room? did they work together? have lots of friends with the same viewpoint?

Those are some main questions. Seems like a foundation looks to put money in the community where it will do good. someone says we help education, ok you get a grant. that someone looks to help education programs and Ayers applied and had Obama use his clout and reputation to show they deserve the cash and won the grant. Obama then worked with Ayers to distribute cash to radical extremist groups who would teach anarchy and killing parents and overthrow of capitalism

This is why Obama still hides his background

  55. “This is why Obama still hides his background”

so you wait til a few weeks before the election to ask??? Obama has been interviewed over and over and over, and even on Fake News, yet NOW you want answers. please excuse me while i swim thru the BS. mccain was on stage with Obama tuesday night, AND mccain SAYS NOTHING!!!!! How important is the concern if he couldn’t even confront obama on this of utmost importance. Please.

mccain doesn’t want answers. He wants to entice fear. the neocons caters to the base with the simplistic of emotions because that is all they have.

  56. What a sad, pathetic, small man John McCain has turned into right before our very eyes.

No one is debating that John McCain at one time exhibited great bravery in Vienam that I don’t think I would have possessed. How that changes what he has done the past few weeks, inciting his supporters to call Obama a terrorist while refusing to engage Obama directly on the matter, hiding behind surrogates and their sleazy innuendo, not mentioning the subject even though the gloves are “off” yet hoping upon hope that someone will ask him about it, is beyond me. It was one thing with Kerry- what McCain is doing now is dangerous, and he won’t even own it. Take that 2 minute commercial you released on the web, and pay for a national airing. If you want it out there, have it out there with your name on it and with your money backing it. Say something at the next debate. Own it. McCain is acting like a coward, and what he and his campaign are doing is a disgrace. Period.

  57. This is ludicrous! Today the DOW dropped 379 points and this is what the McCain campaign wants to concentrate on. Desperate and pathetic!!!

  58. you’re ignorant

obama’s poll numbers go up…the DOW goes down. learn something. investors know the storm thats coming and they are pulling their money out now. its pretty transparent but you ignorant liberal lice can’t see it. an all democratic Washington…may God bless America in these awful times.

  76. wow. not really much to say.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itEucdhf4Us

  77. John McCain and Sarah Palin are trying to induce panic, while the nation is sinking under a horrible economic situation, McCain decides that his “stop everything I’m doing and get to work on saving the country’s economy” didn’t work as well as he planned since he is still under on the polls. So what does he decide to do run his campaign based on inducing panic to the citizens of this country by making uninformed accusations, attacking his opponent in despicable ways that are not worthy of the man he once was. If McCain knew that Obama had terrorist ties, why wait till now?
We do not need any more panic in this country we need change!

  78. quote: so you wait til a few weeks before the election to ask???

no I started aksing when Obama strangely won the DNC primary and probably before

see with the left and mainstream liberal news on abc cbs nbc cnn msnbc these are all networks devoted to electing Obama and hiding anything that doesnt sound good for him.

So lots of Americans are only now hearing about Ayers and trying to brush it off until they realize its a true story, McCain and others in the GOP are being fair.

Look America is not a socialist country, there are plenty of those like in Europe. move there. Bill Ayers and pals’ Bombing the Pentagon, Capital and other facilities? these have the same goals as the earth liberation front and the OKC bombing in 1995

When people are going to do community organizing they get together and look at resumes and experience they have. Why would Bill Ayers and Obama enjoy working together so much? was it money? or was it a shared mindset?

Obama’s judgement is that he worked with or for, and shared his professional abilities to help an unrepentant terrorist who attacked the United States. Thats the kind of person Obama wanted to work with and said this is my kind of person.

Well what about his spirituality and church life? there is Rev Wright who is openly racist and says GD America, the others who are friends with Luis Farrakan who in the week of 9/11 said the Taliban are his brothers and they are innocent but President Bush was (the terrorist) paraphrased.

so corrupt shady people Obama was close friends with; a church riddled with corruption charges from mainstream Christians

But the American people are victims of yellow journalism, big networks witholding provocative claims by the other political side. fortunately talk radio, internet and foxnews get to share the GOP side since nobody else will, and foxnews gets mocked for allowing the GOP POV at all on the air

Then the networks are saying the Bill Ayers headline and portraying it as a scam when the GOP is telling the truth about the events and letting the voters decide.

for decades the liberal media would cover up things like this, like the Obama and Ayers connection, and running cover by the media put countless people into power as they could conceal such partnerships. Thanks to Sean Hannity for helping everyone know about this issue, Obama has to face it. Now he said why dont you say it to my face? uhh ok.

  79. quote: “If McCain knew that Obama had terrorist ties, why wait till now?
We do not need any more panic in this country we need change!”

No, the thing is with the liberal world and liberal news they never told you about this. its been almost a daily thing, for over a year? why is Obama buddies with Bill Ayers?

I know you want your democrat guy to win, because somehow it means change? or do you think it means change? the news networks have continually given bad news because of the GOP president. when its a DNC president? the news networks are happy and upbeat as they like to say only the good things. you want change because the news networks have bombarded you with negative news for 8 years.

all you have to do is watch more foxnews and less of the mainstream liberal left networks. then you’ll hear both political sides and complete news coverage and wont be so worried about events that just are not so.

so watch foxnews, then the world wont be shown in such desperacity and envillianificatiousness, and you can pick your DNC candidate who is not so extremist radical looney liberal left in the tank for Bill Ayers radical, as Obama is. Obama is unfit to lead. you should have chosen Hillary

Sadly, today some mentally twisted individual may make this harmless reference of a proud parent into a racial inference, and it shows the mental illness of our once great american society.

    What are you talking about?

The scene you described is true for 60% of Obama supporters, who don’t watch the game at home or are working.

  89. OLDLEFTY,
What am I talking about? Now you wish to play the part of the misinformed liberal who has no idea what his liberal party smear merchants have been saying about Sarah Palin’s references? What a putz.

  90. The Conservative,

Sarah Palin does NOT have the market cornered on regular people.

It seems that YOU are the one playing the ill informed conservative who has no idea what his conservative party smear merchants have been saying about Barack Obama.

The SAME smear tactica, I might add that were used against the Clintons, McCain, Gore and Kerry. Same MO, just change the names .

Most of the working class people in my town are supporting Obama, and feel that McCain and Palin have nothing but contempt for them, just give them lip service.

But call me names, because that really strenthens your argument.

  91. Joe Klein Time: Watch the tape of the guy screaming, “He’s a terrorist!” McCain seems to shudder at that, he rolls his eyes… and I thought for a moment he’d admonish the man. But he didn’t. And now he’s selling the Ayres non-story full-time. Yes, yes, it’s all he has. True enough: he no longer has his honor. But we are on the edge of some real serious craziness here and it would be nice if McCain did the right thing and told his more bloodthirsty supporters to go home and take a cold shower. But McCain hasn’t done the right thing all year. His campaign is appalling, as the New York Times editorial board said today–and more, it is a national disgrace.

  92. The Conservative

It seems like YOU are the ill informed conservative who refuses to see what the smear merchants on your side are doing to Obama.

The same things they said about Clinton, McCain, Gore and Kerry.

    It’s really ALL they have.

  93. I’m sorry, I know it’s politically incorrect to say this, but these people seem like they would be very comfortable in 1933 Germany.

There seems to be NOTHING about, “OUR vison for the future”….just how the other guy is not ‘one of us’.

  94. I’m not a supporter of John McCain, however I’m glad the republicans are stricking back. It appears that you find the tactics of your own partys’ smear merchants to be acceptable, while you spin a reference of Naziism to the current conservative barrage of attacks? Am I correct? Please, enlighten me about the “vision” that you speak of.

The Clintons had Vince Foster killed, Bill Clinton was a rapist, and a drug runner, Hillary was a lesbian, John McCain was the “Manchurian Candidate” and a KGB agent, and has an “illegitimate black baby”

“Please, enlighten me about the “vision” that you speak of.”
    …………………….

That’s the point exactly! We see no vision from the McCain campaign, just darkness and hatred.

“I’m disappointed in the tenor and the personal attacks on the part of the McCain campaign, when he ought to be talking about the issues.”

  109. So what does this ad really prove?

It proves that Barack Obama CAN TALK TO OUR ENEMIES and maybe have some chance of getting something accomplished, instead of just BOMB BOMB BOMB Iran, along with anyone else we don’t happen to like.

As for the sad, weak Ayres nonsense:

    Walter Annenberg HIRED Bill Ayres.
Walter Annenberg was a Conservative Republican who donated a total of $128,100 to Republican candidates from 1981-2000.

Walter Annenberg Was President Nixons Ambassador To Great Britain From 1969-1974.

In 2002, the University Of Pennsylvania Almanac reported, President Ronald Reagan awarded Ambassador Annenberg the nations highest civilian honor in 1986, The Presidential Medal of Freedom, citing him for a brilliant career in publishing, for his pioneering use of television for educational purposes.

In 1994, Illinois Republican Governor Jim Edgar wrote a letter of support for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge grant proposal written by Prof. William Ayers, Anne Hallett, and Warren Chapman.

  125. The Clerics have the final word in Iran, that’s why Ahmadinejad does not have the power that OUR president has.

I’m sorry that the fact that they have presidential and parlimentary elections bothers you so much.
Rafsanjani was much more moderate, but after the bellicose threatening by Bush/Cheney, they went with the Persian version of Bush.

NOW, Ahmadinejad is an honored guest in Iraq.

Iran WAS a democracy when Mossadegh was elected, but Anglo-Iranian Oil,(now BP), didn’t like his policies, and he was overthrown for the Shaw and his brutal Savak.

So, how’d THAT work out for us….I’d say about the same as arming and favoring Pakistan over India for the last 50 years.

  127. Old,

All that proves is a lot of people have a lack of judgement when it comes to Ayers. It doesn’t excuse anything else.

  128. trueamerican,

There’s no need to have a hissy fit, There are tons of books on the subject, for crying out loud.

    ………………………….

    T. Mason,

Then the same lable of ‘bad judgment’ should apply to Walter Annenberg who hired Ayres, and to Illinois Republican Governor Jim Edgar wrote a letter of support for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge grant proposal written by Prof. William Ayers, Anne Hallett, and Warren Chapman.

Their relationship to Ayres was MUCH closer than Obama’s.

  129. Old,

Did I not say all that proves is a LOT of people, including Obama have bad judgement when it comes to Ayers. Can you say the same?

Ayers and obama WERE close. They dispersed money to community organizations who came into schools, which by the way did NOT improve education. Ayers was more interested in radicalizing the children, instead of providing them with reading/writing/science, etc.

Now obama is saying he thought he was rehabilitated? First, he didn’t really know him, then he knew him but not that well, then he knew him but didn’t know he was a terrorist, now he knew him knew he was a terrorist but thought he had been rehabilitated.

sounds like a person who knows they lied, knows they were wrong, knows they are caught and wants to get out of it.

  130. Go sell crazy somewhere else, we’re all full up here. Sen. McCain approves this and many other things that are repugnant. He has created fear and hate along with Gov. Palin that they should be ashamed of. How a grown man, a former POW, could incite such hatred is beyond me. He has lost all respect and shouldn’t be allowed to lead this great land. If he can inspire all this hate here in America what do you think he’ll inspire in other countries. Who would want to be our ally? He and Gov. Palin owe Sen. Obama and this country an apology.

As far as Mr. Ayers goes, he did some horrendous things many years ago, he has been spending the latter part of his life teaching social justice. Urban educational reform and troubled children are his special interests. He’s been trying to make right for the things he did wrong. He never said he wished he’d done more to interperet to mean bombs, what he did say was “we didn’t do enough” referring to the fact that “we” as Americans should have done more to stop the Vietnam war. Yes, he was a radical, yes the weathermen bombed buildings, their intention was never to harm any persons only to attract the attention of the government. He did what he thought was important and the only way to stop the Vietnam war, granted it was antilogical to think these acts could or would end the war and not think of the repercussions and no, I don’t condone what he did. The fact is that was many years ago, Sen. Obama was eight yrs. old and when he met Mr. Ayers, he was, as far as he knew a valued citizen.
    The End.

  131. This evening, I saw a glimmer of the old John McCain.

After losing effective control over the slime machine, sliding even further in the polls (overall), and seeing his own negatives increase, John took a few tentative steps. He addressed a man’s unnatural fears indicating that Obama was a “decent man” and that the guy should not “fear an Obama presidency”. Further, he actually corrected a woman who believed Obama to be an “Arab”. He stated that Obama was a “decent family man, a patriot, and a good man”. These are a direct contradictory direction from his campaign this week. I saw remorse in his face. I saw the honesty return some of the light that has been missing this week.

No, I won’t vote for him, but I don’t want him to decend into the bog of dishonor, and disrespect that he was falling.

I’m not sure what he will do, but it was a bit of hope that he has refound his soul.

  132. Did he really? I mean find his soul? How can a person switch back and forth so easily? There must be something physiologically wrong him, seriously. Either that or the glimpse you saw was the terror that his mob wants him to confront Sen. Obama during the debate on Wed. and if he brings up Mr. Ayers and Rev. Wright etc., then surely Sen. Obama will have to bring up G. Gordon Liddy, Keating 5 etc. and if Sen. Obama asks him point blank, “Do you think I’m a terrorist?” he will have to answer “NO” and what chaos will ensue, makes him out to be a liar, a cheat and irresponsible, that will definitely drag him down into a quagmire. A situation he may never recover from. So, he has to appear to be nonconfrontational now. Defend him at all costs before the debate and hope the angry mob goes away. Does that make sense?

  133. today on msnbc hardball Chris Matthews said Obama was an immigrant to the United States and he is a success story. oh really? so Obama wasnt even born in the USA?

one of the guests quickly said Obama was born here. but was he? Matthews said he was born in Indonesia.

And somewhere it was said that the name Hussein means the guy is muslim. really? is that what the name Hussein really means?

  134. Mathews was a victim of incorrect thinking….
“somewhere it was said….” These words allways preface a lie or unsubstantiable rumor.
“somewhere it was said that the name Hussein means the guy is muslim. really? is that what the name Hussein really means?”
You really need to get out more….
no and do some research..it would do you good.

  135. [...] new rhetoric from John McCain is still at variance with the ads he’s putting out associating Obama with “a terrorist” and questioning his candor and integrity.  But [...]

  136. Robert Blair, if you thought I was a democrat and told you “Hussein” means muslim son? you would believe it on the spot as absolute fact.

I could have said according to some book or website that it means ‘muslim son’ and you may have believed it and then said nothing.

since I put it in the form of a question you tell me to go look it up because I’m stupid.

Hussein is best known for one of the grandsons of Mohammad, that islamic guy people get so mad for making cartoons that his turban is a bomb at. So naming a child Hussein if that father is a proud muslim means the son is a muslim. For Mr Obama to have attended islamic schooling and the first thing they do is make students recite the oath of being muslim, if he made it one day then Obama would certainly have taken the oath to be muslim.

Who cares, what does it matter?

If Obama was once muslim then betrayed islam and converted to Christianity? its heresy, Obama would be ordered to recant Christianity and return to muslim standing or face being marked for death.

If Obama was never a muslim but had family who is and is buddies with famous muslim leaders? then those leaders want to convert Obama so they are interested in hanging out with him.

If Obama told the muslim leaders that his conversion to Christianity was a sham just to gain popularity within the enemy nation of the USA and inside he is truely a muslim working to get power for his muslim brotherhood? because islam teaches a muslim must lie and is obligated to lie as needed to the enemy to gain advantage.

If Obama were actually a Christian? he would be preaching that Christ is the only Salvation and would denounce islam, and that would enfuriate Farrakan. But wait a minute, Farrakan is in love with Obama, so Obama must be saying that islam is okay.

Why does Farrakan like Obama so much?

  137. [...] Bill Ayers may not be your choice for Rotary Club Man of the Year, but he is a tenured professor and nationally recognized expert on education reform, who has worked with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, earning the mayor’s praise on his work for the Chicago school system.  This all goes to show that one person’s “terrorist” is another person’s freedom fighter or education reform advocate.  Or, perhaps better put in this case, one person’s education reform advocate is another person’s cheap campaign tool.
