If You Think William Ayers Was Bad…

It appears that John McCain’s transition chief worked for Saddam Hussein.
Murray Waas reports:
William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.
This is the same William Timmons who earned $260,000 this year representing Freddie Mac before its lobbying activities were halted by the government bailout.

You are missing the point. I don’t care about “associations” or “alliances” between the candidates and people they may or may not know. The key question here is “Was Saddam Hussein ever involved in a plot to bomb the Pentagon, as Ayers and Bin Laden were? No? Well then, I rest my case.

oh Alan there you go again. Lets look at all the facts.
trying to sling mud by grouping McCain to Saddam Hussein?
this is a sign of desparation by the Obama, that is, Hussein Obama camp
what a joke
October 14th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Pretty damn funny. But, as I believe Alan mentioned last night – this kind of thing just doesn’t get traction on the liberal side of the fence. We tend to be more interested in issues, while some on the right are more interested in boogiemen.
But this is really, really, funny.
I will look forward to watching H&C tonight. No doubt Hannity will be OUTRAGED that an unrepentant lobbiest for Saddam freaking Hussein is part of the McCain team.
I want to know if they ever had tea in Timmon’s living room.

BRADLEY’s irony-meter is apparently broken.
Let’s fix his post and offer him a little perspective, shall we?
Yep. Sounds about right.

WOOHOO! “Republicans” are quickly distancing themselves from the “straight talk express” in DROVES.
Wanna get elected? ATTACK Bush2 AND McPlanecrash.
Christophers, Hitchens and William F Buckleys son!!!! It’s over…370 electoral votes.
McCain pays the price for choosing the ELECTION first over country with Palin.
October 14th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
I’m sure there were the odd people who worked for the Iraqi government in one role or another who weren’t bad people. On the other hand, there is one really damning sentence about Timmons in the article:

“obama will truly run this country right into the ground! it will be the end times of AMERICA”
No. Dubya has already done that. In case you haven’t noticed…

Just because you idiots keep calling him a muslim is not going to make him a muslim. $%@#ing idiots!!
October 14th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
McCain has been associated with Acorn as well! Take That!

I don’t know that I am completely ready to condemn McCain for his close association with Saddam Hussein. But I understand why you are concerned MK97.
October 14th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
Paul, you ignorant slut. In the case of Obama and Bill Ayers as a local terrorist and connections to global terrorism, there is and are real links and the thing is, the mainstream media has been working to hide the facts.
And now this smokescreen in desparation trying to paint McCain as somehow being involved in wrongdoing? bollocks
October 14th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Alan is the biggest Loser on Television and has no knowledge, no heart and no conscience! Poor Alan is trying so hard to find something against McCain and Palin. If it weren’t for Hannity I know a million of people who wouldn’t watch the show if Alan was alone on there.
October 14th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
Well, according to the democrats who say we should have never gone into Iraq Saddam wasn’t such a bad guy. You can’t have it both ways. He was either bad and should have been dealth with or he wasn’t that bad so this story isn’t a big deal.
You know, Obama wants to meet without pre-conditions with leaders of terrorist nations. You guys should actually find this story heartwarming.
October 14th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
judgment, decision making, guidance from advisors…..well, it seems to speak volumes of the abilities of John McCain. I’m sure his new debate coach, Foghorn Leghorn, will benefit him as well.
October 14th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
“In the case of Obama and Bill Ayers…”
There’s nothing.
“…as a local terrorist…”
It’s irrelevant.
“…and connections to global terrorism…”
None and none.
“…there is and are real links…”
You’re dreaming.
“…and the thing is…”
No it isn’t.
“…the mainstream media has been working to hide the facts.”
Bull.

Response:
well Sadam killed many, many people in the 80’s, remember with his “weapons of mass destruction”
Sadam who republicans said “is plotting to attack the U.S.”
Iraq who is the central fight in terror.
Sadam the one we went into war for invading kuwait, Sadam, the one who execute, rape, and murder thousands… yes that Sadam…
and this guy lobbied to defend this scumbag, then now is an advisor to McCain?. Flip the coin and see what kind of things will you be saying about Obama.

JUDGEMENT! JUDGEMENT! This is all about JUDGEMENT! McCain is showing horrible judgement here! He’s not ready to lead the nation!!!!!!! Guilt by association! Guilt by participation!!!!!
etc.

I have the feeling that it’s sketchy technology rather than censorship (I know you didn’t say that, but I’ve heard it from others). I’ve posted some things that didn’t work, and I can’t imagine how they would have been caught by any content filters.
October 15th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Obama has a list a mile long of shady people he is associated with……..so how does this compare to McCain. You have been searching so hard for bad things on McCain and Palin that some ares made up like they are against stem cell reserarch which is a big fat lie.
October 15th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
Rick,
You are correct. It is the ‘Akismet’ SPAM filter they are using. It seems to have gone crazy the past few weeks.
Supposedly it ‘learns’ over time, maybe it will eventually improve. Anyway, the folks who monitor webmaster@alan.com are very responsive if you have problems.

Thanks Um Cara.
I had a Sarah Palin joke to go along with the line above, but made the prudent decision not to use it.

So all you have to do is wish the claims are invalid and you convince yourself they are?
the far left wing SNL show even did a bit on Hillary and Obama, I haven’t seen it but heard about it, that Hillary gets aksed tough questions, and Obama? they ask if he wants a pillow for the chair, wants some sparkling water, how was his day, etc;
Obama finally goes to Irak to make a tv appearance, the 3 network anchors go running along with him, Obama was going to meet wounded soldiers but says naw, they dont matter, they fought for nothing for a war based on lies, so they are stupid. So Obama disses the troops so he can workout at the gym and practice smiling in the mirror.
October 15th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Rocky, sorry I cannot post what I think, but its easy that you simply deny the claims.
historical facts:
1. SNL during primaries showed Hillary got tough questions, Obama got softball ones.
2. Obama goes to Irak for a photo op, the 3 network anchors follow in enamorance
3. Obama disses the wounded American soldiers; networks hide that fact.
4. Obama says American soldiers in combat are in a useless/worthless/illegal war based on lies, so the impression is he believes wounded soldiers are pawns or are stupid
lots of examples

America is currently involved a two wars! We don’t need John McCain going to war with a Democratic congress? In his own words, he will veto countless bills and “make them famous”, whatever that means. All we will get is government gridlock while McCain fights congress and attempts to shame his former colleagues?
Reform may happen overnight in Alaska, but Congress will fight back leaving all of us stuck in neutral 4 more years! Give the Dem’s 4 years then back to the polls.
