GOP Ignores Charges Of Its Own Voter Registration Fraud
While Republicans are busy trying to tie ACORN to Barack Obama because of allegations of fraud, they’re conveniently ignoring charges that they are deceiving voters into registering Republican. California voters are claiming that a group called Young Political Majors, or YPM, deceptively registered them as Republicans while telling them they were signing petitions calling for tougher penalties against child molesters.
Election officials and lawmakers have launched investigations into the activities of YPM workers in Florida and Massachusetts. In Arizona, the firm was recently a defendant in a civil rights lawsuit. Prosecutors in Los Angeles and Ventura counties say they are investigating complaints about the company.
The firm, which a Republican Party spokesman said is paid $7 to $12 for each registration it secures, has denied any wrongdoing and says it has never been charged with a crime.
Some people were told they had to be Republican to sign the petition; others found out their party had been switched without their knowledge.
Lydia Laws, a Palm Springs retiree, said she was angry to find recently that her registration had been switched from Democrat to Republican.
Laws said the YPM staffer who instructed her to identify herself on a petition as a Republican assured her that it was a formality, and that her registration would not be changed. Later, a card showed up in the mail saying she had joined the GOP.
Mark Jacoby, the founder of YPM, says investigators for California Secretary of State Debra Bowen have told him his company has done nothing wrong, but Bowen’s office says it doesn’t seals of approval to voter registration groups.
A YPM worker in Massachusetts testified at a 2004 legislative hearing that she tricked voters into signing a petition to ban gay marriage by telling them they were signing something to allow alocholic beverages to be sold in supermarkets. Jacoby claims that the worker in question was doing this while on loan to another company.
Of course, can you blame Republicans these days? Would anybody want to wear that party label voluntarily?

This is absolutely heinous and ridiculous. I pray that this will be all over the news this week. (It should shouldn’t it, since the Media is so far in the tank for Obama… right?)
Anyway, I hope these aren’t states that require the voter vote for the party candidate that they’re registered for.
Anyone know the answer to that?

btw Alan, they’re not “conveniently” ignoring these charges, they’re “purposefully” doing so.

Strange the media is investigating alleged republican voter fraud, maybe after they are done they will investigate the democrat voter fraud.
Interesting that the lady (in the linked left wing la times article) is so sure she’s a democrat and not a republican was so easily duped. Alinsky would be proud another of his methods worked so well.
What kind of idiots are voting for obama?
This kind-

So cheryl, tell us about the hard hitting investigation into acorn the media is doing.
Instead of ignoring, liberals and the liberal biased media are endorsing, paying and encouraging acorn.
Why don’t you speak out on that?
Oh yeah, party before country.

Truth2Power, you are obviously from another planet. You cant turn on any channel on any station and not see that they are all over ACORN. People are being caught for registration fraud, and are being prosecuted. It is unfortunate that this type of behavior is going on. What’s even more unfortunate is its going on with the GOP also and people like you would rather point the finger at Dem’ and ignore the GOP actions. This is what most humans that “walk upright” call fair. Knuckle draggers like you should wake up and demand that your own party fixes this issue just as I have done with my party. Denying it will only allow it to continue. Waiting on the GOP to address their dirty laundry before I can ever put my faith in them.

An ACORN representative on your network (being interviewed by Neil Cavuto) said, “Republicans haven’t spent a cent on voter registration” in 40 years. Sorry, but according to ACORN, Republicans don’t register voters, so this story must be a fabrication.
October 19th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
True.
But having chris matthews or one of the other obama supporters telling us that the acorn registration fraud is not a problem doesn’t constitute legitimate reporting.
Has the liberal media pointed out the vast majority of the fraud is in the battleground states?
Or keep talking about obama and his ties to acorn like the liberal media talked about mark foley?
True, after the problem is outed by the conservative media the liberal media has to play catch up and cover up. Remember the john edwards scandal, the liberal media didn’t say a thing until AFTER he admitted it. While at the same time “alleged” affairs of mcsame were getting air time.
Face the fact, the media is biased. Biased for obama.
Otherwise explain why the liberal media spent more time digging into the past of a citizen that asked obama a question (joe the plumber) than the connection between obama and the anti-government terrorist ayers.

The so-called Ayers connection(s) has been investigated.
There IS no connection. Obama was acquainted with Ayers as they served on a couple of committees together. Ayers also applied for a grant from a charity board that Obama was on.
Ayers also contributed $200 to Obama’s re-election campaign (state office).
They haven’t seen each other in years, and don’t talk on the phone.
Now McCain has friends that ARE CONVICTED FELONS, close friends. I don’t read that you are upset about those pals, T2Pee.

Just In
For the Obama fans
——————————————————————————–
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill
for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our
taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that’s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the
bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one
day, the owner threw them a curve. ‘Since you are all such good
customers, he said, ‘I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer
by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our
taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink
for free. But what about the other six men – the paying customers? How
could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his
‘fair share?’ They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if
they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and
the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the
bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by
roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts
each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before And the first four
continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men
began to compare their savings.
‘I only got a dollar out of the $20′, declared the sixth man.
He pointed to the tenth man,’ but he got $10!’
‘Yeah, that’s right’, exclaimed the fifth man. ‘I only saved a
dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!’
‘That’s true!!’ shouted the seventh man. ‘Why should he get $10
back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!’
‘Wait a minute,’ yelled the first four men in unison. ‘We
didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!’
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the
nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay
the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough
money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors,
is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get
the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them
for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact,
they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat
friendlier.

“And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works.”
What a joke. No it doesn’t! Or, sorry, it works, but only if you’re a Republican whose brain is on a permanent mental vacation.
But it was kinda fun to read, seeing another lameass way that Republicans try to justify underpaying people.

TO ALL,
SHAME ON YOU JOHN MCCAIN, AT A TIME WHEN OUR COUNTRY NEEDS HEALING AND AT A TIME WHEN THIS COUNTRY HAS LOST SO MUCH IN SO LITTLE OF A TIME, YOU RUN AROUND DISRESPECTING AND PUTTING OBAMA DOWN.
WHERES THE RESPECT FOR ALL OF THOSE FAMILIES WHO LOST THEIR KIDS AS A RESULT OF THIS WAR, THE SAME WAR YOU VOTED FOR WITH OUT READING THE NIE REPORT.
JOHN MCCAIN IS RUNNING AROUND THIS COUNTRY WITH AN SELF RIGHTIOUS ATTITUDE TOWARDS OBAMA SAYING AND STATING THAT HE’S UN AMERICAN.
WELL, DURING THE KLATRINA ORDEAL, WHEN PRESIDENT BUSH AND JOHN MCCAIN IGNORED AND FLEW THE PLANE OVER THOUSANDS OF DYING AND SUFFERING PEOPLE WHO LAID ON THE SIDE OF THE STREETS IN NEW ORLEANS.
THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAD TO SWIM IN DISEASED AND INFECTED WATERS JUST SO THAT THEY COULD GO AND FIND WATER FOR THEIR BABIES.
HE DIDN’T LOWER THE PLANE SO THAT HE COULD THROW WATER TO THE THIRSTY AND BREAD TO THE HUNGREY, NO, YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE DID, HE WENT TO CELEBRATE JOHN MCCAIN’S BIRTHDAY AT THE AIRPORT.
YES THAT’S RIGHT, JOHN MCCAIN RATHER PARTY WITH PRESIDENT BUSH, THAN GO AND HELP THE PEOPLE OF NEW ORLEANS.
THAT’S HIS LITTLE SECRET. HE DOESN’T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW THIS. KEITH OLBERMAN WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO CALLED HIM OUT ON THIS SECRET. THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA HAS NOT REPORTED THIS STORY AND I HOPE THAT YOPU GUYS WILL.
JOHN MCCAIN NEEDS TO LET THE AMERICAN PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS INFORMATION.
HE WALKS AROUND AS IF HE’S THE ONE.
WAKE UP AMERICA, TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, THEY DON’T DESERVE THE WHITE HOUSE.
KNOW ONE WAS HELD ACCOUTABLE FOR THE LIVES WE HAVE ALREADY LOST IN THE LAST SEVEN YEARS.
KNOW ONE WAS HELD ACCOUTABLE FOR THE 12 BILLION TAX PAYERS DOLLARS, THAT WAS SHIPPED TO IRAQ AND 10 BILLION WAS LOST OR STOLEN AND KNOW ONE DID ANYTHING ABOUT THAT.
AND NOW JOHN MCCAIN TALKS ABOUT OBAMA WANTS TO GIVE AWAY SOMETHING, JOHN MCCAIN HAS BEEN VOTING FOR GIVEAWAYS FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS.
IF THERE A SOICALIST IN THIS COUNTRY, IT HAS TO BE GEORGE BUSH AND JOHN MCCAIN.
I FEEL THAT IF YOU VOTE REPUBLICAN THIS TIME, THEN THOSE WHO JUMPED OUT OF THE WINDOWS OF THE TRADE CENTERS, AND THOSE WHO DIED ON THE SIDE OF THE STREETS IN NEW ORLEANS, AND THOSE KIDS WHO DIED IN IRAQ, AS A RESULT OF A LIE, WOULD HAVE DIED IN VANE.
WAKE UP AMERICA

Alan, I don’t know how many times that I have heard Sean say that corporations do not pay taxes, that shareholders do.
Corporations do pay taxes. They reported their income on Form 1120.
The latest statistics that we have is from 2005. In that year, corportations paid $283,482,034 in income taxes.
You have to listen to Sean carefully, before you believe what he says. That is the reason Fox is critized. Sean tells one side of the story that he wants you to know.
