McCain Connecticut Co-Chair: “I Don’t See How McCain Can Win”
Connecticut Congressman Chris Shays, who co-chairs the McCain campaign in his state, says he’s disappointed in the McCain campaign because of its mudslinging.
“He has lost his brand as a maverick; he did not live up to his pledge to fight a clean campaign,” Shays said.
Shays, himself in a tight re-election bid, blames the far-right, which he says has “hijacked” the Republican Party. Shays’ view may not be that different than that of Elizabeth Dole, also in a tight race to keep her North Carolina senate seat. Dole decided to be a no-show at a McCain rally in her state. Not a good sign when you don’t want to be seen alongside your party’s nominee.

Come on. Chris Shays is not your average conservative. In fact he more a liberal republican. Living in and running for election, or re-election in Shays case, in Connecticut, if you are a conservative you don’t stand a chance. So, I don’t really agree a whole lot with what Chris Shays believes or says.
The right has not hijacked the republican party. The republican party has left the conservatives. We are fighting to get it back.
What does a moderate really stand for anyway?
I know you Alan. You are really lovin’ every story you can dig up like this.

Remember how Deborah Norville was that cute-as-a-button news anchor on the Today Show with Jane Pauley and Bryant Gumbel? She was nice enough, fresh-faced and eager, she looked ever-so-happy to be there with vets Jane and Bryant. Jane was the august, reliable, trustworthy and gracious foil to a sometimes-cocky Gumbel….
And then, suddenly, Deborah Norville had Jane Pauley’s seat on the couch.
Disaster. The suits upstairs had made a BIG mistake, betting the American people would value “young and pretty” over trustworthiness, integrity, track record and principles.
McCain’s been Norville’d.

Dear Alan
McCane is competing with a black man. McCane have to be super careful or he will be labeled as a racist man. I saw the picture of governer Sarah Palin was hanging with a rope in her neck. I can not see Sen Obama is hanging. NAACP will be alover. That is a signe of “black lynching.” Woman are nothing. Specially if she is a white woman. Can you immagine her young daughters are seeing it? That is horrible. That is not “Hallowin spook” that is uneducation and poor taste for easy money.
Hillary is luckey. Now the Obama supporters are trashing governer Palin. May be the American women forgot the women burning because “they were witch.” Privilaged women are brain washed. They forgot the segrigation toward women. We got voting wright in 1920.

Since Obama has so many votes to spare I think we should write in Hillary on our ballots so HER stock with the party will rise.

Mccain has a chance if he denounces Sean Hannity’s divisive tactics, as he did with Rush el limbo.

I was laughing when John McCain said he was on the Uss Enterprise…The last time I checked. That was also the name of a “Star Trek” ship going through outer space. Sarah Palin should have picked better names for her children. They sound like names you’d give to pets…Not children. I find it amusing that some Republican’s are jumping to the Democratic ship on earth as opposed to the “Star Trek” ship John McCain is riding on the entire general election. The only way John McCain could be so cocky is if he “rigs” this election.

I wonder if there was a long line at Sears when Shays got his picture taken.
Well, that’s what the background looks like!
I bet the next couple in line wanted their heads tilted together and superimposed in a brandy snifter.
