Robert Gibbs To Be White House Press Secretary

November 6th, 2008, 11:53 AM EST

He’s a long-time Obama aide, and was Senior Strategist for for Communications and Message during the campaign.  Politico reports that Robert Gibbs will get the podium job and be the face and voice of the new administration.

  1. This is an excellent pick.

  2. A challenge for most humans. I hope integrity remains a byword of the new administration. It disappeared in the Bush administration with the first day after 9/11.
Certainly, there will be the rare need to keep something from the American people, but the amount of deception should not parallel the ratings of the White House.

  3. Was really hoping for a better looking “face” but it makes sense.

  4. I seem to remember a nice “dance” he had with a certain Sean Hannity. If memory serves, he held his own with the brain blistered Hannity. I learned a new respect for him that night. He is more than a mouthpiece. He is smart and can challenge. He certainly took Hannity to the woodshed….a great sign for the path available for those dumb enough not to “walk the talk”. He taught a lesson by full example rather than by attempting to just duel his way through a point….uniquely effective.
He’s got my vote….(seems to be a trend)

  5. “You put him on your show, Mr Hannity!”

    Classic…

  7. Robert Gibbs is an excellent choice. He’s great at what he does.

Mr. Gibbs was shedualed to be on with a senior McCain strategy person on an msnbc program one time. It was pouring rain and the McCain person (female, can’t remember her name) was being broadcast outside in the rain with Gibbs inside somewhere. He offered to change places with her. She talked about it when the broadcast started and publically thanked him as he could not talk her into doing so.

Robert Gibbs is superb when it comes to communications. He is also a gentleman. Same as our next president.

The alltime BEST and most CIVIL campaign ever run.

Well, your name describes you more clearly than the essence of your statement.

  9. Well we have made it even though radicals like HANNITY and his cloonies tried, really tried to make PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA look bad. Well he failed and we made it. Now the whole country needs to get behind our new elected leaders and do our part to make this administration work for all of us, that includes you too HANNITY and your radical friends

  10. This is wonderful to hear, I am thrilled

So where does “integrity” fit in with the “need to keep something from the American people”?
    Curious minds want to know.

    “but the amount of deception”
Just hold on to that thought through this honeymoon and marriage, ok?

Save that thought and use it in 4 years, when that One is out of office. Fair enough?
