The Vet Who Didn’t Vet
She was part of the legislature Kilroy, Palin was ALL over that bill for fund appropriation. Forget where she was working when she ran for governor?
As a conservative who actually served his country, I proudly cast my vote for Obama. If anyone wanted 4 more of the last eight they got rocks in their heads. But, enough of blaming Palin. I was more turned off by the likes of O’Reilly, Coulter, fat Shaun and all the negativity preceding the election and then having to have to listen to it again by McCain. They should have kept O’Reilly at Gitmo when he was there. He is every bit the traitor as are the inmates there.
Kilroy, you said about Palin, “She is the left’s worst nightmare”. I have to agree with you on that one; she is the thinking persons worst nightmare and I am so thankful I don’t have to spend the next 4 years holding my breath that McCain would remain fit to serve.
Supported Gravina Island Bridge project in 2006, had congress strip the earmark off, kept $442 Million from it and funneled it into the state transportation budget.
Before Palin took office, Congress stripped off the earmark for the Bridge but allocated the 223 million (not 443 million) for general Alaskan transportation projects as part of a large omnibus spending bill. Palin had no hand or influence in this legislation. Interestingly, Obama and Biden voted for the appropriations bill.
Mislead public by saying she said “No thanks on it”, built a $25 million highway on Gravina Island to exempt the state from returning the money to the US Government.
The $25 million for the highway had already been allocated by the Alaskan legislature and construction contracts had been signed before Palin took office. After Palin took office, she removed 185 million in state funds from the budget dedicated to the bridge and later officially cancelled the project because federally authorized transportation funds would be better spent on other Alaskan infrastructure projects.
Your other assertions are equally fraught with misrepresentations and distortions.
The video was absolutely brilliant. Spot on, topical.
American, you’re making my sides hurt with laughter. I don’t honestly know what kind of person you must be to continue defending Palin like that after what she’s done in her career. Her own husband, the man who she’s supposed to honor and obey according to the religion that Republicans like to keep trying to force on our politics, Todd Palin was a member of a SEPARATIONIST party. She’s actually SLEEPING with someone with anti-American sentiments. Obama just wrote a book blurb and talked about classroom funding with a former terrorist, never knew him during that part of his life etc.
And if Ayers had gotten the results he wanted, would he be called a terrorist today? I know a whole COUNTRY full of people that were called terrorists for 30-40 years. It’s called The United States of America.
If we’d have lost the “American Rebellion” our forefathers would be remembered in the same vein as Osama bin Laden will be.
Remember, History is written by the winner.
Kilroy, name the lies.
Here’s a list of the most common things said about her, pick any one that’s a lie:
Went to 6 colleges, kept dropping out of them.
Limited mayoral staff from Press.
Inquired about removing books from a public library.Lobbied for and got $750 Million in earmarks in 2007 and 2008, which is more than a million dollars PER RESIDENT OF ALASKA – and requests for another $200 Million in 2009.
Supported Gravina Island Bridge project in 2006, had congress strip the earmark off, kept $442 Million from it and funneled it into the state transportation budget.
Mislead public by saying she said “No thanks on it”, built a $25 million highway on Gravina Island to exempt the state from returning the money to the US Government.
Generated favorable bidding conditions for TransCanada Pipelines for a huge pipeline, which is run by an aquaintance of hers.
etc… etc… ad infinitum… ad nauseum.

huckin’ filarious!
November 7th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Last night listening to Alan interview Dick Morris, who was making the point that part of the stock market sell-off was due to Barack Obama’s proposed invcrease in the capital gains tax rate, I thought I heard Alan say that couldn’t be an issue as the downturn had left the corporations with no gains to be taxed. If I heard this correctly, I would like to advise Alan that the tax is not on corporations but on people selling stock in the corporations. Further, although it might not be a major factor in the current sell-off, any rise in the capital gains rate will cause some people to sell their shares to take advantage of the current low capital gains tax rate, and any such additional sales pressure just adds to the sell-off.
November 7th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
While I hope Palin will fade into obscurity along with Sam the plumber…
This was very clever!
November 7th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
David,
Most folks selling stocks right now are selling at a loss = no capital gains. It is increasingly obvious we are in a recession, and it is going to get worse before it gets better. Folks not in the market for the long haul are getting out. And since most are doing it at a loss, it has nothing to do with fears of future capital gains.
Alan was quite correct.
November 7th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Palin drew BIGGER crowds than McCain ! Isn’t that FUNNY !
November 7th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!
November 7th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
She was vet by a talk radio host, the shame boy.! You know- SH, the hate monger.
November 7th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
You are obsessed with Hannity, Pierre.
I dare you to go the next 5 posts without mentioning him.
November 7th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Why do so many of you hate those who have different view points than yours? I never understood why Joe the Plumber was so villified by the left?
November 7th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Yes! Sean Hannity cost Mccain the election.
November 7th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Sean Hannity…and Anger/Fear Talk radio has lost it’s potency….there is no little blue pill for Sean and his fellow “wingers”. Fairness doctrine isn’t necessary. The dinosaurs had the same fate as the Wingers….they are going to be extinct…by the forces of nature…not legislature.
As for Sarah….that little light at the end of the tunnel of her national political career is flickering out…slowly, but without wavering from it’s course.
Now, why would the Republicans do this? They may have come to their senses and realized that she’s a nut case and it is far better for them to knock her off quickly rather than allowing the media to slllllloooooooowwwwwwwwwllllllllyyyyyyyyy drag out the execution. Better to get the pain over with so that they can begin to rebuild…hopefully, without the hatred, fear, and smear machine that has tainted their brand.
November 7th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
If the Rep. party looks to Sarah Palin as their new standard bearer they won’t have a party. They certainly need to look elsewhere than the radical right conservative base to draw the party together.
November 7th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
Palin brought hatred and partisanship into an election already ripe with it. She was possibly the most uninformed VP in years. I hope she stays up in Alaska because I can’t stand her.
The Republicans deserved to lose this one because of Palin and also the McCain turncoat experience.
November 7th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
The extreme fascist wing that currently runs the Republican Party found a Mormon or a Jew to be unacceptable as Vice-President. McCain had to chose a candidate on the fly. He chose badly. Romney or Lieberman might have won him the White House.
November 7th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Well, that is what judgment is all about….chosing the right option available.
November 7th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
TO ERIC:
I’m curious as to why you think Gov. Palin brought hatred and partisanship to the election. From the moment she was announced, SHE WAS maligned, villified, hated, wished for dead, lied about, family criticized, etc…. by those on the other side. I believe she didn’t bring it; it was already there, simply because she sees things differently.
November 7th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Gov Palin brought hatred to the election because she spoke hatred and division. She started out at the Rep. convention with a speech that was sarcastic and condescending. She then went on to play the blame game, blaming the left liberal media and ” gotcha ” questions for her disastrous interviews. She then moved on to attempting to demean Obama by saying he associated with terrorists. She had nothing to bring to the table but negative energy. It had nothing to do with ” seeing things differently.” However, people didn’t fall for her line of BS. She also was woefully unprepared for the VP position, her lack of knowledge was unbelievable.
November 7th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
This is so gross and childish. Doesn’t even really deserve a comment. Alan, I thought you were more mature than this. Guess I was fooled.
November 7th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Very cute!
November 7th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Palin was more or less forced on McCain.
She wasn’t even on his V.P. radar.
November 7th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
I, for one, liked Sarah Palin. Those of you who think she was sarcastic and hateful would have found something else to hate her for. At the convention, she was very funny and was expected to confront all the hatred that was dumped on her by the other side from the beginning. Funny, how those of you on the Obama side seem to think the hateful comments on her were deserved. I believe most of you are jealous.
November 7th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
Number of Democrates that are jealous that Palin was on the Republican ticket?
Survey says?
Bizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
November 8th, 2008 at 12:25 am
I guess I should start by admitting that I did not support Sarah Palin in this last election. I disagreed with many of her politics.
However, I find it funny how “feminists” talk about a “woman’s right” to choose etc…but apparently a woman does not have a right to chose to be a conservative Christian without public ridicule. If we, as women, want what’s best for women as a gender (rather than a liberal voting demographic) then we have to celebrate a woman’s right to be anti-abortion, Christian and conservative as much as a woman’s right to be Liberal, pro-abortion and to vote.
I am also saddened that influential women like Wendy Doniger from the University of Chicago Divinity School, rather than just using their voice in the polling booth, used it in the media to strip her of her womanhood saying things like, “Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman.” When was the last time you heard a male politician make a similar comment about another male?
Women have been battling for amongst ourselves for years over the working mom versus stay home mom issue. I’ve always been proud to support working moms. So to hear other women attacking her for working and being a mother at the same time was astounding to me, not only as a woman, but as an American who never heard this question asked of Bill Clinton or George W. Bush.
Women will have true freedom when a woman has a true right to choose the politics of her life without being publicly ridiculed by other women. I disagree with her on abortion and gay marriage, so I expressed my displeasure with my vote and without public ridicule. I hate to sound egotistical, but I hope more women will follow in my path.

Jackie,
I disagree with your whole premise that women should respect Palin (another woman) even though she has a different viewpoint. Palin’s VIEWPOINT and agenda does NOT respect a plurality of viewpoints – and THAT IS the Point! So – No, I have Zero respect for Palin’s viewpoint/agenda – and see it, and her as entirely hypocritical to ask for respect, when her platform does not respect women, nor their “health” nor their “decisions”. Government should butt out of this stuff. When they seek to butt in… then, as I see it, thank God Almighty for the media showing their hypocrisy among other things.
I also think it is ridiculous that the Right has tried to put words into her critics mouths — stating such things as we demonize her for not aborting Trig. No, No… as Palin herself stated the first part of her answer to Couric “I would choose Life”… but LIES (by what is known to us Christians as the sin of Omission) — it goes like this: “Katie, when John and I take over, we will work to implement things such that this discussion will be moot. In other words, women will have NO CHOICE… but it’s best if I don’t say this on National TV.”

The vile, disgusting hatred and mud that’s been slung and bloviated at sarah palin from day 1, and it continues to occur as we speak is absolutely no different than what was slung and bloviated at the late Marilyn Monroe. Now marilyn monroe, according to gloria stein-man, was a democrat. She never ran for any political office at any level. And yet she was the endless victim of vile, disgusting, sexist vitriol: “bimbo”, “dumb blonde”, “airhead”, etc. by the very same empty suited, empty skirted, ass backwards, jackassed pinheaded factions who today are slinging mud at sarah palin: hollywood, washington & the political cesspool, as well as the midstream media, news media, newspapers, and all other haters. And yet these very same hooligans and/or their predecessors, found were shocked out of their shoes when they found themselves outright banned, barred and denied admittance into marilyn’s funeral by a middle class former baseball player: Joe “the yankee clipper” dimaggio! Only 25-31 people were admitted into the funeral which occurred on the very same day that, according to dimaggio’s niece june, marilyn and joe were to be remarried. Dimaggio blamed and never forgave all those who were barred from marilyn’s funeral (marilyn was 36 when she was murdered) for the rest of his life. Marilyn was hung out to dry for 20th century fox’s problems across the board regarding elizabeth taylor and the “cleopatra” film, just like sarah palin is being blamed and hung out to dry by spineless pinheads inside the mccain clique for mccain losing the election. As for the mud slinging at sarah palin by bill maher, madonna, sandra bernhardt, the left wing feminazis, hollywood, the media, news media, newspapers, etc…….the true, undeniable, indisputable, singular reasons why sarah palin is hated, despised, hung in effigy, and the endless victim of the vile, disgusting, vitriolic smears, etc. that would make the WWII era nazis that hated the jews beam & blush with pride form their graves, is because Sarah Palin is NOT simultaneously a RADICAL, LEFT WING, EVA BRAUNED, EMPTY PANT SUIT WEARING, FEMINAZIED, COMMU-NAZI-FACIST & a SODOM AND GOMORRAHIC, MULTISEXUAL, SADOMASOCHISTIC, NYMPHOMANICAL WHORE & GIGOLO OF BABYLON 24/7/52/365! But if she were, which thank god almight she is NOT, then all of the aforementioned haters, detracters, etc. of sarah palin who have been and still are slinging mud and bloviating their vile disgusting hatred at sarah palin would all be lining up and begging, in fact pleading to drink her bath water. As for maher, madonna & bernhardt….these three during world war II would’ve been in hitler’s fuhrer bunker taking turns being hitler’s 5 star fuhrer bunker fluff boys & girls! Because the way i see it, if palin’s haters can say what they say about palin, then those of us who love, admire, respect & support sarah palin should be able to fire back in very same manner at the palin’s haters! If you can’t take back what you dish out, then shut your pie-holes!
November 8th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
A juvenile collage of lies, innuendo and smears. It reminds me of a childish, schoolyard attack of “Ewwww! Don’t talk to her – she has cooties!” After all the digging for dirt, all the meticulous scrutinizing of her past for the slightest unsavory detail to use against her, this is the best the left can come up with. LMAO! Her accomplishments in Alaska are real and documented. She is serious, intelligent and tough. She has charisma and can excite and motivate her audiences. The slurs against her that were leaked by people in her own campaign are being exposed for what they are – lies by gutless, self-serving little weasels.
She was thrust unexpectedly into the sewer of national politics. Her greatest sin was that she was inexperienced and naïve about the how vicious and brutal the process is. She has emerged with dignity. This experience will leave her wiser, tougher and infinitely better prepared to for the next battle. She will not fade from the national scene. She will return even stronger and more motivated. She is the left’s worst nightmare.
November 8th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
If she returns to the national scene, Republicans will not have anything to do with her. She will have to become an independent. Republicans won’t want to risk irrelevancy.
November 8th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Please keep believing that. Do your best to convince all the liberals that you know. I’m afraid the smart ones just won’t take you seriously though. HAHA!
