I, personally, never watch 60 Minutes. Their bias turned me off several years ago. I didn’t really expect to hear anything new from Obama anyway.

Alan , I was wondering if you or Huckabee could explain tonight why our government has such opposition to the “Flat Tax” and the “Fair Tax”—-Thanks.

Good question Bryan. How about it Alan? My theory is that it would reduce the power the government has over us somewhat. But that is my opinion, for what it’s worth.

Both of those tax scams are a back door way of giving the rich another tax cut.
It would also raise taxes on the working poor.

Hey Boogieman, typical class warfare taken right from Mr. Socialist himself, Karl Marx.

Why don’t the proponents of the Fair Tax ever explain how people are supposed to pay this tax on houses and cars? No way I will ‘buy into’ this idea unless they expempt those items. You buy a $100,000 house and you will have to pay $30,000 in tax up front. That’s on top of any down payment the lender might require. You won’t be able to finance that. No lender will loan you $130,000 with $100,000 collateral house. Most will only loan 80-90%. Even if they remove the Federal taxes and social security taxes from my paycheck, no way I will have $30,000 lying around to buy a house. Buying a $20,000 car will require a $6000 federal tax on top of any state taxes. Again, no one is going to finance that – you will have to have it in the bank to buy a car.
