John Ziegler Still Pushing Obama Muslim Smear
Former talk show host John Ziegler, who put out a film which he claims is to show how the media fooled people into voting for Obama, told me Tuesday night that it’s “rational” to believe Obama is Muslim. Ziegler attempts to use polling to show that Democratic voters are drinking left-wing Obama Kool-Aid, but when I pointed out that 23% of Texans think Obama is a Muslim, and wanted to know if that means people are blindly reacting to conservative outlets, he said, “Actually, Alan, if you look at (Obama’s) history in Indonesia, he was registered as a Muslim. That’s a rational answer. Even though he’s not today.”
Jed has the video and a good take on it, most importantly that there is nothing wrong with being Muslim, and that we have no religious test for public office.

Now, why would this not surprise me? The radical right is far from out of Kool aid….they just are no longer relevent, so the irrational arguments are more geared for some stand up work….I wonder if Ziegler has an agent, yet?….hmmmm.
December 3rd, 2008 at 11:15 am
John Ziegler here. yes, that one. Really. So, the left now thinks it is a “smear” to point out a fact that someone was registered as a Muslim as a child????!
Sounds like you guys have a problem with Muslims. Are you racists, too? How liberal of you.
If you actually looked at what I have said on this matter is that I couldn’t care less about Obama’s religion (I am an agnostic), only that he seems to not be telling the truth about it.
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:22 pm
John, we are so used to hearing your lies, it is very difficult to dicern the truth in the rubble you leave behind.
Your radical right garbage fills a room with an odor that overrides any rational thought….although, I believe that would be tough to find.
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:32 pm
John Ziegler, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and all the rest are going to have to come to terms with the fact that Conservatism has joined Communism, Naziism, Fascism and Stalinism on the scrapheap of history. Sure there will be leftover nutjobs who stand their ground – but they are like the Japanese soldier holding out in the jungle for 40 years thinking WWII is still ongoing. Face it guys – your philosophy has failed in practice, been rejected by the people at the ballot box and we are going to spend the upcoming decade repairing the damage it has done to the very soul of this country.
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:41 pm
This report actually proves that Fox news (sean hannity) could not influence the main stream media.24/7 they spew their garbage, yet they fail.Ordinary people did not believe them because they voted for Obama.Soar Loosers!
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Earth to John Ziegler, Who Cares?
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Yes Jake, the conservatism of Sean Hannity should stay in EXILE.
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Maybe I am making a mistake by singling out talk show hosts – Conservatism was popular – still is – among a large section of the population. It will take more than just 3 or 4 radio hosts to come to their senses – look at Germany after the war – you don’t just drop a philosophy overnight – Germany finally freed itself of ingrained Naziism only when that generation’s children grew up without the guilt and associations of the past. It will probably be the same with Conservatism – but the almost complete control of the media by corporate interests may mean this process will take longer.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Ok, so if Obama’s a muslim because he was registered as one in Indonesia, then Palin IS an Alaskan separatist, and therefore IS anti-American, and therefore should be removed from the governor’s office.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Hey Rocky,
I’m no fan of Palin, but I thought we found out she was never a member of the Alaskan separatist party (just the first dude was).
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pm
John Ziegler really replied here?! Oh, that’s priceless!
“Pluh, pluh, splutter– Duh, YOUSE guys da ones have big problums with Muzlim people! YEAH! Iyam rubber and you are glue! Youse must be, duh, the racist ones! Yeah! Not me! YOUSE GUYS!”
Look, Alexander Dumbass, if you’re still peeking in to see what people are saying about your mendacity — Alan’s making the point that people STILL think Obama’s a muslim, thanks to “journalists” (I think I just threw up a little) like you in conservative media who propogated that myth from the get-go.
I can’t believe how rude you were to Nate Silver, by the way. You REALLY wouldn’t share who paid you to conduct that oh-so-scientific “survey” on Obama supporters? And you dare to call HIM a hack?
Keep coming back here! Fantastic entertainment!
December 3rd, 2008 at 2:02 pm
John Ziegler, if you couldn’t care less about Obamas religion then why on earth are you out in the media calling him a muslim? I don’t care at all if was a registered Paganist or any religion why exactly would such matter in first place? That’s what makes it a smear. I can point out you don’t believe in God. Big deal. But if I call you a God-hating, anti-religion, registered bigot then you might say I’m being unfair.
I have had one muslim friend in my life and nobody I know can say the same. I’m not racist and who is the “too” you are referring to? Are you saying muslims are racists or you are?
Lastly, telling the truth about your religion is not a qualification for office in this country. Even if, in the right wing crazy-land some live in, Obama is a closet muslim it wouldn’t be the end of America or anything insane. About the only thing that would change with a muslim in the White House would be Israel policy. No death camps, lock down on media or any other crud dreamed up by muslim haters. Get real John, you want Obama out of office and you’ll call him a slave owner if it got him outta office.
(Welcome to Liberaland! Stick around, we could use the fresh input)
December 3rd, 2008 at 2:39 pm
So if he is a Muslim then he is not a Christian and therefore was a casual (observer) church goer at Rev. Wrights church for twenty years
So Wright is out of the Picture RIGHT?
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:26 pm
The point is, that he might have been a muslim as a child, his parents registered him as a muslim, he did not do that himself. What religion did your parents put on you? There is certainly nothing wrong with being a muslim, the smear, is that you KNOW the fear that word alone brings to the uneducated or the racist population in this country and in trying to tie the notion to Pres.-elect Obama is unscrupulous and false in accordance of his proclamation as a christian.
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:32 pm
John,
He attended a Protestant Church for twenty years -you still consider that a rational response?
Lets Play Role Reversal So if he attended an Islamic Temple for the last twenty years but was raised a Christian briefly as a Child it would be rational to say he is a Christian? That would not be and irrational response? It would be that important?
His history is well known
You should be concerned about Bush’s manifest Destiny Christian Faith not Obama’s Faith
Bush provided amusing descriptions of photographs Wednesday night during the annual dinner of the Radio and Television News Correspondents Association. Some showed the president in awkward poses as he looked behind furniture in the Oval Office. For those photos, Bush told the audience, “Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere … nope, no weapons over there … maybe under here?”
I am sure the 4000 dead ad Fifty thousand injured found that really funny that is what should concern you
Thanks

Email the man:
talktozig@aol.com
He may be the worst debater I have ever heard.
Once Cornered he does not reply back.
Give it your best shot

Thanks for the email address, Denny!
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:54 pm
“I thought we found out she was never a member of the Alaskan separatist party…”
You could be right (I don’t remember hearing that), but of course it’s the thought that counts, and Palin did go on video saying what a great bunch of people are in the separatist party, so if she isn’t a radical subversive then I propose that she is a sympathizer to radical subversives, and perhaps provides material support to radical subversives, and, if that’s not bad enough, she’s even married to one.
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:56 pm
No problem Sarah…
Go get him
BTW-Great post
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Yea just like OBAMA was never a member of the weather Underground…
Just knew someone who was.
But he never a give speech thanking them for there great work or married one.
Palin was not a member but “Paled around” with them.
By conservative standards that is enough
not mine of cause…..
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:04 pm
i never watch Hannity and Colmes because i honestly can not stand Hannity’s voice. (All he does is talk over people the whole time, if wanted to see that i would watch one of Maury’s you-are-the-father shows.)
but last night while channel surfing i decided to see what was on the show. while watching i saw John Ziegler, and all his stupidity. (thats right stupidity, because ignorance is for people who dont know better. this guy is just stupid.)
i couldnt help but be amazed at all the stupid things him and hannity were stating. i almost changed it when all of a sudden…
COLMES! colmes stepped in and shut mr. ziegler down! haha. he had nothing to say. literally NOTHING. he clammed up. it really made my night.
so thanks alan colmes… that was the best thing i have seen on fox news since obama won. =]
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:15 pm
HEY! I got mail back from JZ!
It’s boring, though. Claims I didn’t read the transcript of the Silver interview “very carefully,” whatever the hell that means (I have asked for clarification. Hope I get an ‘FU’, too. That seems to be a compliment in conservative circles).
Then he tried to direct me to breitbart.com, which of course he misspelled so I had to try another way, and I couldn’t find anything about him being on with Nate Silver, either. So, doty-doh and ho ho ho, guess the joke’s on me! Made me look at a site but he’s not there, dontcha know…Doh ho ho, I sure have egg on my face!
But anyway….LOL! Shout out to my NBFF J-Zig! I’ll pass you some Midol before gym class next period (period!!! Get it!!!!!! OMG LOL!!!!!!!!!!).
December 3rd, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Hannity and Fox news have failed to stop the ” Obama Express”.Now, post-election they are still repeating the same garbages(specially Shame-hannity”).Now it’s time to keep Hannity’s conservatism in exile. He is done!
December 3rd, 2008 at 5:22 pm
The only thing funnier than the interviews Zig did were the interviews Howard Stern did on his show.
December 3rd, 2008 at 5:25 pm
ZIG is nothing but another right wing buffoon sounding like a robot that landed from 1 of those ufo,s.
December 3rd, 2008 at 6:28 pm
There have been some studies that link milk to murderers. Well over 90% of people committing murder drank milk as children. Does milk cause people to commit murder?
If you like that logic, you gotta love Ziegler…his radical right talking points and logically strained sampling for his “poll” and his continued lies about Obama certainly scream volumes about his credibility.
He’s a guy that Chambliss might love as a friend….yippee…
December 3rd, 2008 at 6:50 pm
There have been some studies that say guns kill people. although no study has shown that guns lock, load, cock and fire on their own accord…although thousands of crimes are committed with guns and thousands of liberals want to take away my second ammendment right to keep and bear arms.
The logic behind his questions are: pick people who voted for obama ask them some questions and see if they understand who or what they voted for. The answer was NO.
He isn’t the only person who has polled obama voters to see if they know what he stood for. Howard Stern had one of his guys do it too and time after time the “reasons” people were voting for Obama were actually John McCain and the republican party’s platform…NOT obama’s.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Hey! SEan hannity and Fox news are saying the same thing, but louder: it’s not our fault ,it’s the
voters’ fault. Now just in Irak, they are undertaking an imaginary war on christmas.Put a Paling in hannity’s mouth, please.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Even Sean Hannity admitted yesterday that his voters are not as well informed as the Obama’s voters.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:54 pm
I just keep remebering the lady say after the Election “I don’t have to worry about my mortgage or putting gas in my car obama will take care of me.” Most people didn’t have a clue about his platform or agenda just that he was black man.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:54 pm
There are correlative studies that indicate that guns without bullets kill only 3% of the time. Bullets without guns have a 1% chance of inflicting bodily harm (probably a cut from a sharp edge?). Humans who have guns in their house have a 43% more chance of being injured by a firearm. Now, that’s an interesting one.
Oh, and people who drink milk at one time or another have a 94% chance to be killed by a gun.
Ziegler is a radical right Kool Aid peddler of lies and distortions….let that dog lie and smell bad…the things he does normally.
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:41 pm
I remember radical rights telling me that a communist was going to be elected…they would never vote for “one”, so they were voting for McCAin……
real smart…Their shoe size was a bigger number than their IQ
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Well, if it looks like a commie and it smells like a commie……
as far as weapons go. guns don’t kill people anymore than cars or knives or baseball bats or poison, swords, machetes, sticks or stones do. there has to be a person involved.
milk is overrated. and a lot of people are lactose intolerant
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:46 pm
I agree, Mason…I totally agree…about the milk. As the commie comment….hang on, Ivan…you are in for a treat…have you gone to your local gulog building party…we are going to convert Habitat for Humanity crews into building neighborhood gulogs because we will be a communist country in two more weeks….good grief LOL
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:59 pm
What’s funny is that this is only a 22 second clip. Talk about taking something out of context!!!! Ziegler did say that Obama is NOT a muslim today!! Colmes is such an IDIOT that I’m glad he’s ;eaving Fox!!! Good-Bye and Good-Riddens!!
December 4th, 2008 at 5:16 am
Steve, Alan will not be the only one to leave the Foxy news channel.Trust me, coorporation always go where the money is.Sean, o’rielly and even Greta Van will not be able to carry water any more if they don’t patch up their buckets. You know what I mean?hen- hen-hen.!
December 4th, 2008 at 9:56 am
Steve you miss the point
He is stating that calling him a Muslim is not a stupid answer since when he was a kid he was briefly trained as one.
1-Despite the fact he has spent he owe adult life in a protestant Church over twenty years in one church and there is no record of him attending an Islamic Temple.
2-He assumes that 23% of Texans knew about his childhood training which has not been advertised all that much but don’t know about him being a protestant church for twenty years which has been talked about for two years.
3-So either they are ignorant of the later or the former it is the logical conclusion. In most states 5-7% think he is Muslim but in the more conservative Texas 23% Are ignorant of his last 20 years+ in a protestant church.
He cust them slack on there ignorance and assumes they have all this knowledge of Obama’s youth.
Talk about grasping at straws…
Again I ask Lets Play Role Reversal So if he attended an Islamic Temple for the last twenty years but was raised a Christian briefly as a Child it would be rational to say he is a Christian? That would not be and irrational response? An ignorant answer?
Ziggy refuses to answer this for obvious reasons…
Thanks
December 4th, 2008 at 10:35 am
It is rational to wonder what a man’s religion is when he was registered as a Muslim when he was a child. That’s all Ziegler was saying. He’s not saying Obama’s a Muslim NOW, just that he was as a child.
Besides, let’s not forget that Obama is a politician and he wants power. To get that power, he’ll do & say whatever he has to do & say for that power…just like any other politician. Let’s not be useful idiots & buy every syllable that comes from the man’s mouth, ok?
Yes, newsflash….Obama’s no different than any other politician. Stop jerking him off like he’s a God or something, it’s disgusting.
December 4th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Lisa
His religion is obvious I already stated his history.
How his religion relevant? There is NO prove of him practicing Islam as an adult NONE.. They are so desperate they have to go back to his childhood.
If you don’t see the obvious fear baiting then you are blind and need to open your eyes.
Why do they use his middle name?
If Arnold Sch.. Middle name was Adolf (With his Nazi family history) and liberals kept using it do ya think there would be a fear baiting smear campaign going on? COME ON Hannity and his type would have a fit.
For good reason…
Zig refuses to admit conservative voters can be misinformed just as anyone else.
He makes excuses for there ignorance.
Talk about being fair and balanced
So you think his childhood his way 23% of Texans answered this way? Not because of miss-Information and fear baiting going on during campaign?
Whose jerking off who :0
December 4th, 2008 at 11:07 am
Lisa, you lost me at “useful idiots.” Now I KNOW you’re just parroting neocon talking points.
But before I could look away, I saw “Stop jerking him off like he’s a God or something, it’s disgusting.”
Do you normally wank off to religious figures (don’t include Hannity, he’s not actually a religious figure, contrary to popular belief among Fox viewers)? Not that Obama actually IS a god or anything (it always surprises me how sacreligious conservatives are when they insist upon this). Do you actually wank off in church to Jesus? Is that how you signify “treating him like a God or something?”
Curious behavior, but it totally corroborates my theory of Modern Theological Masturbation. Much appreciated, if kind of icky to think about.
December 4th, 2008 at 11:50 am
“Steve you miss the point
He is stating that calling him a Muslim is not a stupid answer since when he was a kid he was briefly trained as one.”
Was he BORN Muslim?
NO.Because NOBODY is born ANYTHING.You are what you choose to be.As a child,he had NO CHOICE to make.Registering him as a Muslim was done by his parents.Because he was their dependent, and knew nothing about religion to make a choice by himself.
Are you expecting him to make a choice at that age?I hope not.
And if you arent expecting him to make a choice at that age,why would you ever say he is a Muslim, when he states his faith clearly as Christian?
Probably because you believe internally that a Christian who was born of a Muslim father is racially inferior and cant be trusted as a Christian born of Christian parents.
Tell me I am wrong, and rationalize WHY ANYONE needs to mention that Obama was registered as a Muslim by his parents at an age where he has no ability to make a rational decision, and use that to argue he was once a Muslim(implying by CHOICE).
December 4th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
To make my above message short(something I always struggle to do):
Even saying Obama WAS a Muslim is STUPID at best, and BIGOTED on average: Any argument for the above statement(Obama WAS/IS a Muslim) is borne PURELY out of Mistrust,Bigoted dislike of Muslims, and anyone born of (a) Muslim parents.I dare you to prove to me that my hypothesis is wrong, and justify it with rational argument.
December 4th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
He was at one time registered as a Muslim at primary school when he was a kid. Stating that fact doesn’t make you a bigot.
I never heard the guy say he was a muslim NOW. In fact, the 2 interviews I saw he said he WAS listed as a muslim at one time.
It has NOTHING to do with race when you are talking about a person’s religion.
December 4th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
He was registered as a Muslim is a factually accurate statement.
He was ONCE a Muslim is BIGOTED.
He made the choice to be a Christian, once he got old enough to make a choice for himself.
The move from “he was registered as a Muslim” to “he was once a Muslim” is bigoted because you dont trust him when he states the choice he made, without giving his rationale(which is his personal business, you and I have no business to REQUIRE to know it,but the mistrust about the choice he made is THE only linkage between the two statements; And that Mistrust arises out of bigotry)
December 5th, 2008 at 8:23 am
If you really need proof that it arises out of Bigotry:
Someone famous I dont want to name,i’ll refer to him as BHO says he once used to do drugs. He states that he consciously chose to get out of it. The choice BHO made to get into drugs is far more conscious than the “choice” Obama made to be registered as a Muslim. And yet,I dont hear ANY of the people who state “Obama WAS once a Muslim” even go far enough to say “BHO was once a PotHead”.Q.E.D
December 5th, 2008 at 8:26 am
Bush was a drunk a coke head and his wife sold pot in college. A dry drunk as president as well.
December 5th, 2008 at 8:33 am
If you you watched the interveiw alan brought the whole muslim thing up. As always ole low road alan.If its a low road to take he will take it.Thats all he knows how to do. He could not do a real interview if his little liberal life depended on it.Not even with Kermit The Frog
December 6th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Bella
You still ignore the question about ignorance of Republican voters in Texas
zelig’s answer is beyond stupid.
Since Zeig is attacking Obama voters he asked a legit question which he did not answer with any common sense. To assume voters knew abot Obamas childhood is beyond naive why not just admit many voters are mis informed…
Too easy hey
December 7th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Zeigler is a radical right baffoon. I think he’s muslim (I see nothing wrong with being muslim, but Zieg thinks there is), and was born in Antartica…have you seen his birth certificate….an obvious forgery….
yarrrrr.
He speaks with the tongue of a man destined for the gallows.
