Republican Congresswoman Hangs Up On Obama. Twice.
Florida’s Ileana Ros-Lehtinen received a call on her cell phone from a Chicago number and was told that President-Elect Obama wanted to speak with her. When Obama got on the phone to introduce himself, Ros-Lehtinen said, “I’m sorry but I tihnk this is a joke from one of the South Florida radio stations known for these pranks.” Then she hung up.
Next, Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel called and said, “Ileana, I can’t believe you hung up on the President-Elect. She hung up again. It took Congressman Howard Berman of California to convince her that Obama was trying to reach her.
The third time worked. She told Obama, “You are either very gracious to reach out in such a bipartisan manner or had run out of folks to call if you are truly calling me and Saturday Night Live could use a good Obama impersonator like you.”
Wonder if she can now develop as warm a relationship with the new president as she had with the old one.

I can understand her doubt.

Ditto. I’m sure that’s not the first time something like that has happened.

Reminds me of the Mary Tyler Moore episode where then First Lady Betty Ford called Mary and she refused to believe it. Still cracks me up.

O Barry Hussein… you’re a funny guy! (might i add as a middle of the road Rep. I am pleasantly surprised with Barry’s cabinet choices so far, very middle of the road compared to what i thought was going to happen)

WFG: “Have to agree? As if it’s not a pleasure to do so.”
Sorry, got distracted. I’ll try to be more ecstatically agreeable next time, promise.

I guess she was a lil’ gunshy after her fellow republican idiot Palin “got got.” Palin was to slow in the brain to realize what was going on with her even after the horrible french accent that the radio personality used and the ridiculous comments he made, while Ros-Lehtinen was too scared to spend a moment to try to figure-out if this was the real deal of a prank. The Republican party just keeps on losing!! LOL
