Just like the haters, I too am glad you’re leaving the show. I watched for years as Republicans were recycled through H&C over and over in a consistant format that revolved around only one of the hosts’ ideals.
Personally, after watching for so long, I’ve left the role of H&C viewer earlier this year for greener grass. Don’t blame yourself, it’s not you Alan, it’s the loutish friends you entertain on the show that has become too unbearable.
With you gone from the show, it’ll just morph into “Hannity’s America” with a measurable drop in ratings (despite your hate mailer’s absurd contentions).
If you hadn’t already guessed, my leaving involves a woman. I didn’t want you to hear it on the street, but the other woman…let’s call her “Rachal”, gives me more than your show has been able to. She makes me feel alive as a liberal. I never go to bed feeling browbeaten and abused antmore, and feel I’ve grown as a person.
I hope I see you again on a format more deserving of your talent and wit, and promise to visit your blog every day to check on your well being. Good Luck Alan.

For a long time now I have watched you on the debate show with Hannity, while I disagree with you on most fundamentals, I have derived from watching both you and Sean a way of seeing beyond the rhetoric of both sides. I like to think I am intelligent enough to stay informed about current issues, and vote my beliefs without worry that my “liberal” neighbor is just waiting to pounce on me for something I believe.
Its funny actually, but in recent days in my Political Science class we have had our own debates, and I tend to quote you a bit, as well as Sean, but people who insult you, or Sean, or anyone because they cannot get past their arguments.
To drag someone through the mud, calling them names and the like has no place. I just hope that you’re leaving the Show of your own free will, and not being fired or demoted.

By far you are the most open minded guy on talk radio these days, and tolerate dissent very well. Even though we don’t always agree, I will remain a loyal listener. As much as people may hate Alan, he is a pretty good guy. Just because you dont agree with him doesn’t mean that you have to hate him. I would consider myself a republican, maybe more independent than anything else, but I love Alan because he is one of the few talk show hosts that will actually listen to the other side of the argument without interrupting you. On the other hand you have guys like Hannity and Olbermann who interupt someone as soon as they feel like they are begininning to lose the argument.
I grew up in the NY suburbs and literally listened to WABC my entire childhood because thats what my Dad considered the conservative radio station. One of the shows that my Dad always listened to was Hannity and Colmes before they had the tv show, so for anyone to say that Alan has this show only because of Hannity, they are completely mistaken. They started out a long time ago, together, and it is sad that they are splitting up, the show wont be the same without Alan.
I disagree with Alan on most things but even today my dad still calls his show from time to time and he is the only liberal talk show host that will let him speak for more than 30 seconds. (Alan if you read this you might know him, he used to go by Mark from Beacon, but now goes by Mark from Amarillo because he retired and moved down there).
Anyway, Alan is one of the most fair talk show hosts that I’ve ever listened to and to be honest I don’t know how he has dealt with Hannity all this time, to me it seems like Hannity just interupts him anytime he is making a valid argument, whereas Alan lets Sean finish his sentences.
For anyone who disagrees with this, the next time you watch the show count the number of times Hannity interupts a guest, and then count the number of times that Colmes interupts a guest.

Alan Colmes is the best down to earth news caster that fox has. He is the type of guy you need to compete with MSNBC. That interview about dads, he was awesome!!!! Plus he knew who the next US president was going to be. Not that it was not obvious, but still he had to keep his cool and defend the majoritie’s point of view quiet at times, because of Hannity. It should not be Hannity.com show, but Alan.Colmes show.

I am a conservative (republican) who has watched H & C for a long time and I have always enjoyed watching the 2 of them. I cannot believe all of the HATE mail Alan gets. He is always respectful when talking to guests who he disagrees with and he tries not to interrupt them when they speak. What is wrong with you guys who are so hateful to him? I don’t agree with a lot (most) of his views but I still like the guy? Freedom of speech man! Get a grip!

I just watched your “interview” with the women who did the “sting” on Planned Parenthood. Apparently you don’t care that young girls are being raped, only that they “wasted” PPs time. Alan, I stopped watching H&C long ago. I could’nt take Sean anylonger. He is a disgrace to America and I’m glad you are going to no longer going to be a part of him. You will do much better alone, I love your non biased view. Sean reminds me of Jim Jones cult, he is such an egotistical, everyone must follow me and if not worst person in the world.
