Blago never looked so good. Zina Saunders via Crooks and Liars has the “Blagojevich Going Out of Business Sale”.

Neither party has a monopoly on scandal and corruption, so it makes no sense to point fingers about which party has had more scandals.
Can anyone really say they were surprised that a Governor was trying to get something in return for an appointment? Blagojevich only was caught because his phones were bugged because of other investigations. Governor Patterson in NY is going to be able to appoint Clinton’s Senate seat, but his phones are not probably bugged so who knows what negotiations are going on. Minner has already picked Kaufman to replace Biden, but he is not resigning until January 20. Who knows how much she got for her pick?
The only surprising thing to me is that Blagojevich KNEW his phones were bugged and he still discussed this on the phone. That’s the shocking part. Is this so common in Illinois that he didn’t realize it was illegal?
T. Mason,
How in the world do you link a response to:
“Liberalism is a Mental Disorder”
to condoning Blago?
………………………….
Bryan,
Again, response to “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder”.
We are not running on the platform of moral superiorty, and “values”.
Never trust a politican. The GOP is less trust worthy than the DEMS.
Sorry if I insulted the smart liberals here–my comments were directed at Craig.
OH Craig now I understand—you come here to kiss each other liberals asses–I thought people came to Liberaland to discuss todays topics—excuse my misunderstanding.

LOL!
On a serious note, I really believe Blagovich has some psychological problems.

Totally agree, Carroll…it’s a radical right infection LOL sorry, couldn’t pass that softball up….
The guy reminds me of some religious huckster…like Jim Baker, Old Whatshisname who climbed up to the tower because god needed money or something, and I couldn’t forget old Jimmy Swaggart snivling for mercy while hocking for donations at the same time…..LOL

People wake up! Do you really think that politicians don’t get “pay for play”? From both sides! For the Iraq war– who got paid? hallibertan; Fox news –to promte the war; Sean hannity– for access (interviews);Karl Rove– legacy project for Bush.Clinton got paid–for his library/ speeches ect.The greese always keeps the engine running. Rush El limbbo gets paid to promote propagandas(how–he started by selling a weekly news letters to a base of about 20,000 americans and they don’t even read them). So Blagojecevich is not an anormaly; he just got cut.
December 11th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
I tend to agree with Pierre. I think it was Nixon who said, “I did nothing that every other politician didn’t do, I just got caught”. It doesn’t make it right, mind you, but I’d sure like to find an honest politician.
December 11th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
I’m an honest politician.
Ok, I’m lying.
I’m not a politician.
December 11th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Public Servant my a$$,most of these politican’s,don’t even know what the word means.A Government of people,by the people,4 the people. And they have got a nerve to give Wall Street & Detroit the 3rd degree…Blagovich seems to be touched by the Great Spirit,God Bless America, and help your foolish people…

Chicago and Illinois have been lumped together in the news lately but this isn’t really fair.
Chicago and Illinois aren’t the same thing.
There’s “Chicago” (sometimes, ChicagoLand) and there’s “downstate”. Residents of the two regions don’t mingle.
While he won election, Blogo was strangely never all that popular. Sure I voted for him once but only because he seemed the lesser of two evils when he ran against that female with the other unpronounceable name.
Thus, I’m sorry. So sorry.

“Pay to play is like appointing a judge to the highest court. It’s like given a license to drill. In the first case,a judge gets a life long position / financial/ideological status— and eventually he would pay back as for ex. in the 2000 Florida decision. As for the second case, the drilling coorporations would raise money for my next election. It’s like when Mike Tyson said to the judge ” I fu..k the girl” instead of saying “I made passionate love to the girl. So Blagojevich should have said to the emisary “It would be very niece to play appropriately “.

Liberalism is a mental disorder”! maybe! But conservatism /right wingers only use their reptilian brain.Have you seen the leap of Sean Hannity/O’rielly form Blagojevich(corruption)-to Rev.Wright(anti-american/antisemetic)? Or maybe they haven’t realized yet that they lost the election on those trivial tactics.
December 11th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
Hey, OLDL, you forgot to mention those who get pay to rant/spew both on TV and radio: sean, o’rielly, rush, savage ect.
December 11th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Old,
Is your way of condoning this governor by listing republicans who have been arrested?
Can you just say the guy was wrong for what he did?
