If Iraq Is Doing So Well, Why Does Bush Have To Visit In Secret?

We keep hearing we’ve won the war in Iraq from the right, that we’ve liberated 25 million people.  If that’s so, why does President Bush’s final visit to Iraq have to be cloaked in secrecy?

As with previous visits – in November 2003, June 2006 and September 2007 – preparations for the visit were cloaked in secrecy and carried out with ruse. The White House schedule for Sunday had Mr. Bush attending the “Christmas in Washington” performance at the National Building Museum in downtown Washington.

Shouldn’t “The Great Liberator” be hailed as a returning hero and given a parade?
