The thing that cracks me up is that a lot of conservatives support free trade but not government subsidized business. That puts our companies in direct competition with companies that are being subsidized by their governments. I don’t see how you can have it both ways. I would rather have a free market system but that would mean we need some tariffs to even the playing field.

Bush gave tax cuts to companies that were headquartered in the US, but manufactured in Asia. Obama has said he will favour companies that keep jobs here.
The whole situation bothers me.
Do you support the election process and the laws that govern this land? If so, the fact that more ballots were “found” in 25 polling stations than registered voters should bother you.

I understand Blago is tainted and I think he should step down. The dems had a chance to impeach him earlier so he couldn’t pick someone. They didn’t.

Harry Reid is refusing to seat him because he has to prove how tough he is on the democrats while at the same time cowering in fear of the republicans.

Actually Jerry, there are 2 choices for why male Homo Sapians (and other male mammals) don’t breastfeed:
1) In the pre-embryonic stage, we all start out as ‘default’ females. It’s not until the sex-determining SRY gene (XX/XY) kicks in that we either continue to develop as females, or become testicular males…Since non-functioning male nipples have no disdvantage in natural selection, there was no evolutuionary reason for them to disappear.

That is what is so unsettling about this. Blagojevich choose someone while facing serious charges that holds high standing in Illinois. An honorable civil servant would have deferred the matter until the allegations against him were cleared or handed the matter to Senate Committee decision. Instead he does somethig he said he would not do in a time of great uncertainty around him. This makes him look guilty and puts the people of Illinois in an awkward position. I do not suport seating Burris because he was appointed under unique circumstances that held a more appropiate response than buisness-as-usual.

Me too. Burris has nothing to do with Blagojevich and only wants to fill a position handed to him. Yes, the legal legs of this chair are wobbly. Quite frankly this hasn’t happened in so long we have forgotten how to handle it it seems. Rest assured there is some legal-type in Illinois who has a breif ready on the matter. Something to the tune of ‘questionable integrity of appointment under an office under investigation.’ It’s semi-new legal ground and brand new in Illinois. So, yes, the Dems don’t have a lot to work with. And Alan and Diane are not helping ethier.

Did you know most people who seek the truth are liberals? Teachers, reporters and historians are by and large liberals. These people do NOTHING BUT the truth and they are not in any pain. She used Social Science as evidence for her claims. This means more than most people think. Conservatives have rejected all Psychology and Social study since Brown v. Board of Ed. Now data such as Coulter’s is fair game for the Republicans, I guess. Well I’m glad to hear it because now I can quote studies at people on conservative websites without having the standard ‘that’s just BS cooked up by liberal profs’ argument. Thank God! We can finally talk about teenage pregnancy rates RISING under Republican policies of absentence-only and LOWER under Democratic policies of sex ed. I can finally talk about how the CONS use loaded words and slanted questions to keep their positions guarded on-air. At long last I can talk about how the only reason we have integration of the races is because of HEAD-SHRINKS! Hating people who have the answers and buying a bunch of BS Coulter books might make people feel good but eventually the real world catches up. Unless you drive your head into the sand as is becoming so popular in Repub camp these days.

You talk like the democrats are the saviours of the world who never lie, are never selfish, and always put their country first. I hate to break it to ya, but the party you are putting on a pedestal isn’t perfect by any stretch.
And I think we had integration because people on BOTH sides finally decided they had enough.
Reporters lie and cover a story based on their background/beliefs. The truth is, more smart liberals get their news from folks like john stewart,keith olberman, chris shiver up his leg matthews, and stephen colbert than the “real” news (whatever that is). Now who was that liberal reporter on CBS who got in trouble for LYing about bush? now what was his name?
The sad part about history books is they (experts who are reviewing them) are finding MANY untruths and left-leaning bias than ever before. The sadder part is most kids take what their teachers say (and we all know teachers never lie or preach their side of it) and rarely investigate the “Truth” for themselves. Especially in towns like the one in Chicago where the average 8th grader reads on a 2nd grade level.
To sum it all up, noone has all the answers, no side is always right, and the truth lies somehwere in the middle. Not to the far left, not the far right, and certainly not with washington politicians.

I remember Dan Rather “telling the truth” about George Bush’s military record. He was exposed to his lies and ended up losing his job at CBS.
I remember NBC rigging a Chevy PU to explode for the cameras in order to blacken GM. Their lie was exposed and they had to go back on the air a few days later and admit their scam to the American public.
I remember Dan Rather, during the USSR-AFGHANISTAN conflict, having rigged video of towers being blown up and he had to come back and apologize to the American public for his deceit.

Dan Rather AND 4 other employees lost their jobs, because after it was proven tha the documents were probably FAKE, they CONTINUED to defend the story. THAT is not journalism. That is propaganda and flat out lying.

It was Hillary Clinton who dropped the bomb about the Madrassa in 2007, and more than one news organization reported it. Furthermore, in his book, the Audacity of Hope he said “during the five years that we would live with my stepfather in Indonesia, I was sent first to a neighborhood catholic school and then to a predominately muslim school”. That is one place hillary got her info.
There were legitimate questions about whether he was or was not an American citizen, and I would hope that any american who values the law would want it proven. Otherwise his entire presidency would have been illegitimate.
Are you sure Al Franken hasn’t stolen the election? There are 25 polling stations that have more ballots than registered voters. I am not a CPA, but those numbers don’t add up

They did the recount, both democrats and republican, and said Al Franken received more votes. I wasn’t there, I didn’t count the votes, but I’ll take their word for it.
Now if Coleman wants to whine about losing in a recount he was vehemently opposed to in the first place, that’s his perogative.
Of cours, it IS a democrat who received the most votes, so there MUST be a conspiracy.

First let me start off by saying I am not in anyway defending the media. I will also conceed that I may not see some liberal bias as my own bias leans the same way. But I believe that the medias primary agenda is a nice juicy story that will earn them ratings. I belive that they will demonize Barack in heart beat if it suits there pocket books. There “love affair” with Barack has much more to do with the underlaying Cinderella story and “historical” significance then anything else.
