Roland Burris Is Not Dead

Politically or literally.  But when he does shuffle off his mortal coil, he’s ready to go.  He has prepared a monument to himself listing his accomplishments, with room left for those yet to come.  And carved on his mausoleum are the words “Trail Blazer”.  Nothing wrong with working on one’s image.  Or making sure that image goes on for posterity.

 

In 1984, when he ran unsuccessfully for the Senate, he once mused: “Illinois is the Land of Lincoln. Maybe someday it will be the Land of Burris.” He often speaks of himself in the third person. And he named his children Roland and Rolanda.

  3. He may or may not be a nut, but he is going to be the jr. Illinois senator. Fundamental law such as this is not to be trifled with. Unless there is proof of quid pro quo in his nomination (which I can’t believe even Blawhatshisname would risk at this point) – they need to seat him as a senator and move on.

    The Illinois voters will have their say soon enough.

  8. Burris is a placeholder. He won’t win “re-election” even if he runs and he won’t run.

    Tammy Duckworth. She would’ve been (or will be) a good one.

    It’s too bad Jesse White is older than Burris.

    Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White (who, by the way, is “black”) is also a good one. His photo is on the wall at the license bureau, which also seemed a bit “full of himself” but I doubt he has a burial monument already constructed.

  9. This is very important news, because Burris isn’t as adequate a black man as Alan Colmes. I mean, Alan, you may not be “Shaft,” but you sure as hell got it. That Obama guy is just an uppity loser. You represent the white side of the equation. Thank you for all your hard work!!!

  10. It’s nice to hear you sounding so cheerful and upbeat, Alan. Sean Hannity seems like a horrible, horrible man, and I personally would find it hard to keep my grasp on sanity spending that much time with him. Is it true is smells like sour baby formula and sulfur?
