Obama led the campaign and was aided by the MSM. 2008-the year journalism died

FOX and right wing talk radio for McCain.

Chris Matthews should be ashamed of himself. Saying it is the media’s responsibility to ensure Obama has a successful presidency. I must’ve missed how they helped Bush have a successful presidency. Old Lefty, Eric, Frosty…where are you guys on this one?
January 19th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
“one of the most successful”…nope…THE most successful! What an organizer! What a communicator! What a leader! What an inspiration!
It will be spectacular to watch what he does with all his superb talent & intelligence!
The toxic bubble we’ve been in for the past 8 years will burst tomorrow and we will live in the sunshine of great & postive change in America!
How do I know? Just listen to the children…the voices & actions of our young people…& feel their excitement! Absolutely awesome!

GO-OBama Go-OBama!
January 19th, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Yes Jared,
Chris Matthews being criticized by Fox news. Are those two news organizations just opposite sides of the same coin. I do not find either one to be unbiased, Fox pretends to be though. Personally I don’t pay much attention to either.
January 19th, 2009 at 9:00 pm
GoCards:
Actually, Fox was backing Giuliani way back at the beginning of the campaign. And if you remember, they were very critical of McCain – until he won the nomination.
January 19th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
Yeah…I still don’t get that. Fox backing Giuliani that is. The man certainly isn’t a social conservative.
January 19th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
Limbaugh is nothing but a freaking fat, disguisting pig. Anybody that would say they wanted ANY President to fail, knowing what that means for our country, is a pathetic hateful person. I would have had a fit if McCain / Palin would have won, but I wouldn’t have wanted them to fail!
January 19th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
TDRO,I REMEMBER mainly HANNITY. GIULIANI,i have beefs with him. GOP had no hardline cons running for president and McCain should have ran to the middle instead of the right and chop off part of democrat block, pick up independents and the right would have join him. He ran a mismanged race for the white house.
January 19th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Well said Danielle. If McCain/Palin had won I would want them to succeed as well, and would be happy to say I was wrong if the country was in a better place.
January 19th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Very nice comments about Rush DANIELLE. I am going back on my word. Rush the Lip is a BUFFOON AND A FAT 1 AT THAT.
January 19th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
GoCards:
I agree McCain ran a mismanaged campaign, but I don’t think he had a choice. I think the republicans were pulling the strings on his campaign.

Hah! A verbatim quote straight from Hannity! That’s where you’re getting all this stuff!
January 19th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
Humpf, and here I thought 2000 was the year journalism died.

“Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.” – GWB
Cracks me up….I love that quote.

Colmes says, “they didn’t find a gun on” Aldrete-Davila after he was shot in the butt by the BP officers.
Uh, that’s because A-D escaped across the border into old Mexico. He got shot in the arse but he still escaped and the only thing he left behind was the memories.
A-D didn’t return north until Sutton offered him a green card in exchange for coming back to testify against the cops.
The only tampering with evidence I’ve read anything about was when one of the BP officers tossed his spent shell casings into the nearby canal. I don’t know why you’d do that other than the mindless habit of policing up the area (we always pick up spent shell casings). Since they did it in full view of their fellow officers and supervisors, it’s not like they were trying to hide something or deny the shooting.
January 19th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
PLACEFIELD,
Surely you can’t argue with a verbatim quote from Matthews. And since when is it the media’s “responsibility” to ensure a President is successful or not?
January 20th, 2009 at 8:23 am
PFKAm,
actually no. that is how I and a lot of schools of journalism feel. I have posted tons of studies, one done at Harvard that say the same thing.
So I guess Hannity is pretty smart.
January 20th, 2009 at 8:34 am
Why the namecalling and hate against Limbaugh? Are you saying all his listeners are haters?
January 20th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
“”Limbaugh is nothing but a freaking fat, disguisting pig. Anybody that would say they wanted ANY President to fail, knowing what that means for our country, is a pathetic hateful person. “”
I STRONGLY disagree with you here Danielle!
Limbaugh is no longer as FAT as he once was, and you know it!
He lost 75 lbs during his secret addiction and abuse of narcotics…

Lefty: Humpf, and here I thought 2000 was the year journalism died.
K: Very perceptive, Lefty. That would be the year that the MSM’s favorite candidate lost to a Republican. ;-)
January 20th, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Cards: Very nice comments about Rush DANIELLE. I am going back on my word. Rush the Lip is a BUFFOON AND A FAT 1 AT THAT.
K: Hey Cards, I thought Libs were tolerant of their fellow mans’ foibles. Why do you consider a person’s being fat as pejorative? :-)
January 20th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Mr. Frosty,
I stand corrected! Lol.

That OB-GYN quote is one of my absolute favorite too!

How about Bush’s wandering dissertation on how ‘man and fish’ could live together!?
Hilarious!
Hey ggerK, you hear that one? Man and Fish? man/Fish?
fish/man?
You in?

Frosty said: How about Bush’s wandering dissertation on how ‘man and fish’ could live together!? Hilarious! Hey ggerK, you hear that one? Man and Fish? man/Fishl fish/man? You in?
K: Frosty, sorry, I didn’t hear Bush’s speech. Why are you talking man/fish? I thought you were still promoting unnatural sexual acts with a tree. You moving on to fish? A small one should do, I’d think… ;-)

………………………………………….
That the MSM’s favorite candidate was not Bush is a matter of opinion.
* Gore got trashed for saying that Erich Segal based Love Storyon him, but he was only quoting , The Nashville Tennessean, which had said Gore was the model for the character of Oliver Barrett,
* Gore spoke about his record. “During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative”—politico-speak for leadership—”in creating the Internet,” and went on to explain how they brought the internet to common usage, not just military and university use.
Vinton Cerf, often called the father of the Internet, has claimed that the Internet would not be where it was without Gore’s leadership on the issue. Even former Republican House speaker Newt Gingrich has said that “Gore is the person who, in the Congress, most systematically worked to make sure that we got to an Internet.”
It wasn’t until Texas Republican congressman Dick Armey led the charge, saying, “If the vice president created the Internet, then I created the interstate highway system.” Republican congressman James Sensenbrenner released a statement with the headline, delusions of grandeur: vice president Gore takes credit for creating the internet. CNN’s Lou Dobbs was soon calling Gore’s remark “a case study … in delusions of grandeur.” A few days later the word “invented” entered the narrative. On March 15, a USA Today headline about Gore read, inventing the internet; March 16 on Hardball, Chris Matthews derided Gore for his claim that he “invented the Internet.”
* On December 1, 1999, reporters from the NYT and Wa Po, Connolly—and Seelye—misquoted Gore in a damning way. Their error was picked up elsewhere and repeated, and snowballed into a political nightmare. Gore was speaking to a group of students at Concord High School, in New Hampshire, about how young people could effect change.
He described a letter he had received as a congressman in 1978 from a girl in Toone, Tennessee, about how her father and grandfather had gotten mysteriously ill. He had looked into the matter and found that the town was a toxic-waste site.
He basically said that one person CAN make a difference, and when you think of the Love Canal , one high school girl from Toone Tennessee started it all.
Connolly and Seelye reported that he said, “I’M the one who started it all.”
The teacher sent in the video to the papers, and they printed corrections, on pp 20, but only after cable TV savaged him for a week.
Maureen Dowd of the NYT boiled the choice between Gore and Bush down to that between the “pious smarty-pants” and the “amiable idler,”
MSNBC anchor Brian Williams went after Gore’s clothes at least five times in one week. “Here is a guy taking off his suits.… This is the casual sweater look—what’s going on here?”
So when the right talks about media bias FOR Obama, raise THAT to the third or fourth power, and that’s how the left has felt for the last 8 years.

I have a hard time understanding why Liberals are so apposed to carrying a concealed weapon.
There are good reasons to carry one at times.
Perhaps you can give me some undebatable reasons.
One more, what the big deal about carrying a concealed weapon in National Forest?

Jared,
Sorry just saw you response to my post. I am not arguing that Chris Mathews said it nor that it is ridiculous, as it is. Just cracked me up that Fox news was reporting it like they are somehow better.
