Dr. Phil, Ann Couter, Scott McClellan And Me
Noel Sheppard over at the right-wing Newsbusters site run by conservative media critic Brent Bozell delights that the audience on the Doctor Phil show Thursday liked Ann Coulter more than me. He, in fact, finds it “astounding” that it was so. Not so “astounding” given that some of the crowd consisted of a local college’s young Republican club. Unfortunately, the audience really didn’t like Scott McClellan, the former Bush press secretary, who wrote a not-so-favorable-to-Bush book. Phil asked McClellan if he betrayed Bush. The few non-Bushies in the crowed reacted favorably when I suggested the better question was whether Bush betrayed McClellan and the country.

“Welcome Scott McClellan, Alan Colmes, Ann Coulter, and David Gardner! Here is Scott McClellan, Alan Colmes, Ann Coulter, and David Gardner! Joining us is Scott McClellan, Alan Colmes, Ann Coulter, and David Gardner.
Coulter: ‘A single motherhood promoting culture is bad!’
Thank you to Scott McClellan, Alan Colmes, Ann Coulter, and David Gardner!”

Can Dr. Phil cure Bush derangement syndrome ? [I don't think so]. Who’s Bill Clinton dating now? I miss the good ole days of it was just [SEX] !

President Bush is a man of integrity. It takes a true man to stand up for his belief on what is good for the country. To be a good president you can’t be wishy washy. Remember the DEM’s have controlled the Congress for the last 2 years…..May God Bless the USA & have Mercy on our Country……….

Can Dr. Phil cure Coulter of that pesky extra chromosome?
She is even an embarrasment to traditonal conservatives and old-school Republicans; her continued disparaging of single-parent homes is an un-informed, un-educated disgrace.
It is the poverty of many such homes that does the damage, not lack of a second parent. In fact study after study after study shows that the children of a single parent with a fair income are more likely to succeed than the children of a low-income couple in a love-less marriage filled with bickering, hostility and infidelity…
Sound familiar?

Most people now think he WAS wishy washy, and that he did NOT stand up up for ANYTHING other than what the neocons told him to do.
Remember, the “DEMS” controlled the Congress for the last 2 years…..while the Republicans employed the strategy of OBSTRUCTIONISM, as Trent Lott called it.

Well, I’d watch the vid but I had a nice lunch and see no reason to ruin it by exposing myself to *cough*cough*gag*retch* Ann Colter.
January 23rd, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Mr. Frosty, I’ve not even read her book, so I don’t know, but she supposedly has done a ton of research on the subject. Are you going to bash without looking at the data she’s gathered?
She’s not disparaging single mothers, as she stated, she’s disparaging the promotion of it as a positive thing. There are many great single mothers who work very hard, love, care for, and gemerally do a fine job of raising their children. It’s just not optimum.

“pesky extra chromosome?”
“*cough*cough*gag*retch* Ann Colter.”
I thought only conservatives on this board are mean and take shots and namecall? :|

Ann Coulter is doing her job Frosty. She is annoying you and your fellow liberals. You play right into her hands and you don’t even know it.
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:11 pm
Bah. Ann Coulter is just a mean, nasty woman. Even the national review won’t have anything to do with her. Neither will I – I turn the channel whenever she appears on the tee vee.
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:19 pm
But you’ve got to admit Cara, she drives the liberals crazy. I just sit back and chuckle whenever she is on the tube, especially with a liberal host like Alan.
Alan really does like her. Did you know that?
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Don’t be too hard on Ann Coulter. She has obviously encountered many tragedies in her life to make her such a bitterly unhappy person.
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:27 pm
Yea, she does. I don’t like that kooky bald democrat dude either though (can’t think of his name).
I’d rather people be a little nicer to each other, even though I certainly fall way short of that standard myself, sometimes.
Alan seems like he likes most people, to tell the truth – I do too.
January 23rd, 2009 at 4:27 pm
Coulter doesn’t do ‘research’. She just repeats what others that she agrees with have said. I didn’t say others have researched because it’s often a case of opinion masquerading at research.
Even if there is some research, Coulter will pick and choose which ‘fact’ she’ll present.
Certainly not those that don’t support her thoughts.
January 23rd, 2009 at 5:33 pm
I am of the opinion that very few free-thinking liberals take this craxy woman seriously. And thus she does not ‘anger’ us, any more than Jerry Falwell did….she appears on TV because she is entertaining, like a lanky clown, and I suppose, ‘rabble-rousing’…the way we all read kregg and PINO’s posts without believing a word they say…

Mr. Frosty -
Good point. There are many, many children growing up in two parent homes, but a lot of times it’s just as bad and at times worse then a single parent.
Don’t get me wrong, of course I think if a child can have the benefit of being raised in a loving home with both parents, then that is always ideal. But….there are lots of couples that stay together “for the kids”, but their relationship is so bad that they’re actually harming the kids more. For example, one of my best friend’s story: she grew up in a middle-upper class home with both parents. The day she left for college (she is the youngest of three children), her parents announced they were getting a divorce but wanted to wait until their kids were raised and out of the house before doing so. Her and her two siblings couldn’t believe it – they all three put up with years of hearing their parents argue, name call, completely disrespect each other; she said sitting around the dinner table every night was almost unbearable and that every holiday was pure he!!. After that comment from their parents, all three kids simultaneously said, “You’re kidding right – you did this for us”?
My point – yes there are many cases where children are harmed by single parenthood, but I also think there are many couples that stay in an extremely unhealthy marriage “for the sake of the kids” and only end up hurting them more had they just got divorced.

Yes Danielle, like that couple naming their kids after Hitler. Ann Coulter, not going to go their concerning her.

Ann Coulter = Cousin It

Shame on Dr. Phil for giving Coulter all of that time. Nobody else got a word in edgewise.
January 24th, 2009 at 1:52 am
Dr. Phil like many other shows suffering with a lack of viewers put this woman (?) on to advance themselves. They hope her usual outrageous shtick will bring about some media nugget that will be played over and over on all networks for the simpletons amusement. This in turn will drive those same said simpletons (conservative base) to flock to that program that shares their views and sell mAnn some books too. Rush Limpballs also has this marketing technique down pat – just this week he stated he hoped President Obama would fail, this gets him press and then here we go again – repeat and rinse. The game plays on.
I’d like to know Mr. Colmes how you could stand working with that “great American” Sean Hannity for so long while keeping your gag reflex in check? Do you have tips?

K: Molly, for filthy lucre. He wanted to be a RICH liberal…

I love Molly Ivans.
My favorite quote of hers was:
“War brings out the patriotic bullies. In World War I, they went around kicking dachshunds on the grounds that dachshunds were “German dogs.” They did not, however, go around kicking German shepherds.”

K: Frosty, which is it? Last night you were decrying the fact that so many ‘free-thinking liberals’ might agree with me! I still find it interesting that – while screaming and throwing a fit over my posts – you never actually address them. Why is that?

Can we cure PARTISAN DERANGEMENT SYNDROME that is found in neocons who bring up Clinton every twenty seconds and blame all political discourse on mental illness because they are such cowards they cannot handle being rightly thrown down for taking insane positions.
Try going one day without kissing your party’s butt and getting a big brown nose up Limbaugh’s rear end.

Absolte trash talk. CON’S have controlled all the branches of govt for more years total in past three decades. Bush and CON’S did so much in 02-04 that the DEM’S in Congress in 06 had so many issues to reverse they couldn’t possibly have effected HALF AS MUCH as you paint them as having. You have allowed yourself to become slanted into the standard conseravtive biased to the facts mentality.
Bush was wishy-washy about the number of troops in Iraq and about the whole ‘no nation building’ thing. Beyond that having a leader who will not change with new events and new facts is like having a guard dog for the master of an estate. Bush refused to see anything but what he wanted and did extreme, lasting harm to this country with the legislation he has signed.
May God bless us all, with no border or boundary holding the blessing from any man or any woman or any child.

Ann Coulter doing a ” ton” of research for her book? Yeah right. Coulter in her past books has shown her “research” is juvenile at best and a number of her footnotes point to sources that do NOT say what she claims. My dislike of Coulter is not because I’m supposedly ” liberal” ( actually I’m a moderate independent), its how she spews her opinions and claims its fact and how she does the tee-hee-hee act to males who interview her. To me Coulter, like all these other talking heads on radio and TV, have a certain ” act” to sell. And people buy it thinking that’s what these people actually believe. She’s out promoting her new book, you see. Once her publicity tour dies down she’ll retreat back to her upper class elitist home.
“Dr. Phil” IMO did this to get some ratings, hoping Coulter might spout something that tops her previous offensive speeches. I don’t put much credence to “Dr. Phil” because to me he’s a discredit to his branch of the medical profession.
