Iraq Dedicates Statue To Man Who Threw Shoe At Bush

In Tikrit, the hometown of Saddam Hussein, a statue has gone up, dedicated to Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the Iraqi journalist tho hurled his loafers at President Bush during Bush’s last trip to Iraq.  In the Arab world, it is considered a sign of disrespect to show someone the bottom of your shoe.  Baghdad artist Laith al-Amari says the fiberglass-and-copper tribute is to honor the pride of the Iraqi people.
