Clarence Thomas: We’re Self-Indulgent And Don’t Sacrifice Enough
Speaking to 400 people and Washington and Lee University in Virginia, Justice Clarence Thomas was quite critical of Americans. Thomas, who declines most invitations to be interviewed or to appear in public, said, “Our country and our principles are more important than our individual wants.”
He quoted President Kennedy’s famous, “Ask not what your country can do for you” speech, but said Americans today are more likely to say, “Ask not what you can do for yourselves or your country but what your country can do for you.”
When Barack Obama referred to some Americans as being bitter and clinging to their guns, conservatives never let us forget it. When Michelle Obama referred to some Americans as “downright mean,” we saw how mean they really are by raking her over the coals for it. So, I wonder, will these same patriots allow Clarence Thomas to get away with calling Americans selfish and not willing to sacrifice? Or maybe they’ll decide Thomas was talking only about liberals.Click here for reuse options!
