Thank You, Mr. President
For the first time in over five years, more Americans than not say the country is on the right track.
In a sign that Barack Obama has inspired hopes for a brighter future in the first 100 days of his presidency, an Associated Press-GfK poll shows that 48 percent of Americans believe the United States is headed in the right direction – compared with 44 percent who disagree.
The “right direction” number is up 8 points since February and a remarkable 31 points since October, the month before Obama’s election.

Not according to Hannity. He says it’s now the end of America and that we’re going to be oovertaken be evil left-wing, communist loving, terrorist loving, unGodly beings. Oh noooo!!!
Who cares about Hannity? NOT ME!

Well all conservatives in the media with rare exceptions have become hateful partisans and almost borderline racists at times.
The problem is people buy this garbage.
They all sup of the cup of Alex Jones, Jerome Corsi, Sean Hannity, Limbaugh, O’Reilly, etc. and are the worse for it.
It’s sick.
I have no problem with the opinions. It’s the presentation of vague ‘facts’ then drawing lines all over the chalkboard trying to make a Democrat a demon.
Waste of our mind-space. Most Republicans understand this but don’t seem to care to comment.
Let’s not forget that Rush Limbaugh is the Chair of the RNC after Steele bent over and let him slap his behind.

Hannity declares that people will be killed in this country as a result of Obama.Does he have a
plan?
O’Reilly declares the attorney general,Eric Holder, not qualify. Actually, subconsciously ,he
wants to say the same thing for Obama. But he can’t
justify his boy’s qualification(Bush) to that of
Obama.
Lou Dobbs,so called Mr. independent, is in no man’s land.

Hannity…
Sean needs to take his riddilyn(sp), vallium, thorazyn, and acid. The poor kid just needs some serious counseling..and/or confinement with a brown spider.
On second thought, perhaps he just needs to take up the challenge and be tortured for a thousand a second….it would be good for charity and great television…never have seen a coward like Sean cry on tv…oh, I forgot about Beck….well, Sean makes a great number two…ask the maid.

For someone so FAR LEFT I am with the 52% that hope Obeyme does head in the RIGHT direction. That indeed would be remarkable.

LOL. Obeyme. Good one. Where do you get your 52% from?
EricG Reply:

Foolish things to say RDM.
You prove yourself a odd one.
You think only the RIGHT WING direction of govt is the ‘right’ direction?
That’s not an American view of govt.
That’s a fascist view of govt.
April 23rd, 2009 at 4:17 pm
I agree…it’s good to have a positive vibe about where this country is currently going.
April 23rd, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Same math Alan used to get 48%.

Ooooh. So basically you just assume that the 8% that had no opinion think the country ISN’T heading in the right direction, therefore joining the 44% that Joel’s talking about, and they are hoping that ‘Obeyme’ DOES head in the right direction. Okaaaay. I get it now.

Same math that Coulter and all these ‘black crime rate’ people use.
It’s all the same.

Live Las Vegas … that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Maybe I’m stupid.
I’ll play some serious cards when I finally get into that city.
Call me a wanna-be card shark.

Viva Las Vegas! has more of a “long live Las Vegas!” meaning in Spanish. In Spanish, if you put Viva before anything, it pretty much means “long live” whatever it is you put after it.

*clap* *clap* *clap*
Thank you for putting these numbers up.
This is the truth, people.
Right here.
We are heading in the right direction.
At last.
And all it took was getting the Republicans away from the highest office in the land.
Looking good for re-election. We shall see.
All that is the Obama Presidency still hinges upon the economy.
Which by the way he is taking a more effective and practical approach to than Bush did but less so than FDR.
Good greif … can you image FDR being President these days!?!
I think Limbaugh would hang himself trying to sway America away from such a brilliant man. The whole neo-con bug would fly away and we could have real political debates again.
It’s fun to dream.

It’s fun to dream…
Yes it is, and I hope your “Team” can accomplish everything you voted for. Until I see that, I will give your president the same respect you gave mine.
In the meantime, it’s fun to dream.

RDM: “Until I see that, I will give your president the same respect you gave mine.”
Why do you say YOUR president and MY president? W. was our president. Yea, he did make some God-awful shtty mistakes that send thousands of Americans to their demise, but he was the president of the United States of America and we are the United States of America. Right now Obama is the President of the United States of America. If you can’t recall, W. had a 90% approval rating once. You can’t have a 90% approval without the help of Dems, RDM.

“…an Associated Press-GfK poll shows that 48 percent of Americans believe the United States is headed in the right direction – compared with 44 percent who disagree.”
And probably most of the 44% are twits from Texas who learn their science, their economics, and everything else from the “bible” and the NRA.

Why do you disparage the 44 percent Rocky? Are they not allowed to have their own opinion? Maybe they have a very good reason to think the way they do.
April 23rd, 2009 at 6:43 pm
It’s good to see that most of us think the country is going in the right direction. But that’s not to say that the far right won’t find a reason to complain or anything :(
April 23rd, 2009 at 6:44 pm
ALAN,
Why didn’t you find it important enough to post the 79% of Americans (according to the same poll, by the way)who are worried about the economic future of the country?
TDro319 Reply:
April 24th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Everybody’s worried about the economic future of the country, Jared. When Obama took office, he was saddled with the failing economy and everybody knows (except maybe the republicans) that it’s not going to get better overnight.
He’s doing (I think) the best he can given the magnitude of the problem. Also Obama’s been in office for less that 100 days. I say give him a chance, at least a year (I gave Bush 3 years) to prove himself.
