The Donald Says Carrie Keeps Crown
Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump says Carrie Prejean can keep her crown.
The 21-year-old Prejean failed to reveal before last month’s Miss USA pageant that she had posed in her underwear as a teenager.
Trump says the pageant has determined the photos are “fine.”
Does Trump know how to work it, or what?
UPDATE: I should have headined this: “Trump To Prejean: ‘YOU’RE NOT FIRED’!”

So if it’s okay to get implants and to pose topless for photos then they shouldn’t have any problem with women who pose naked for the men’s magazines.

Apparently you don’t know what “implants” look like. I like the fact that she has these pictures for sure. Call me a pervert or whatever.. it’s just human.

Well, Miss Prejean only said what obama said during his campaign. That he believes that marrage should be between a man and a woman. No? What’s the problem? I think if she would have quoted obama in her answer on the subject, the out come may have been different. What do you think?

JFA, this has nothing to do with what she said during the pageant. As you can see from the article, it’s all about not living up to her agreement. Sort of like that student at the Christian school agreeing not to dance.

I gotta give you a pass on this one. Besides my Grandmother was named Lily, maybe that has something to do with it.

K: So, Lily, did you end up agreeing with me on the real issue with the kid?
K: BTW, The Donald would have every right to take this girl’s title for breaking her contract.

Valid point JFA, if that happened the right doesnt cry foul, the left shrugs and the story dies, imo. Sorta what I did (shrug) at the beginning.

I think if she quoted Obama the right wing nuts would have left her alone and not put her in ads and tried to make her a conservative-star. I think they would have ignored her and not backed her up on anything and right now we wouldn’t be saying her name or talking about her at all.
Because she said anything that defies the so-called ‘liberal elite’ she immediately became a conservative icon. Had she spoken her mind and said the opposite then she would be one more ‘filthy gay-lover’ for all these bigots claiming to be Republicans and conservatives.

One question Eric. What makes you think she didn’t speak her mind??
EricG Reply:

She did. You misunderstand me or I typed it poorly.
“IF” she wasn’t intolerant of gays then she would be thrown down the stairs by conservatives.
Her only value to cons is the fact that she said that single line.
It has nothing to do with anything else.
JFA Reply:

Eric,I can’t remember where Miss California said she was intolerant gays, can you tell me? Maybe she just doesn’t agree with same sex marrage, just as obama does not agree with it.

She just expressed her view on the topic that was asked. As JFA said, Obama has taken the same stance on gay marriage and he is not taking the rath of the liberals. Can you explain to me why you liberals aren’t upset with Obama for saying he thinks marriage should be “between a man and a woman”?
EricG Reply:

I never said I disagreed personally with her original statement. I think she phrased herself quite well, whatever that looney tune Perez says.
But I also remember her saying something after the fact. About there being no ‘mothers and fathers’ if gay-marriage was allowed.
Allow me to be specific. It is not bigoted to stand against the legal marriage of two people of the same sex. It is bigoted to declare people who wish to do this unfit to parent or in any way less deserving all the rights and privileges of every other citizen.
“Can you explain to me why you liberals aren’t upset with Obama for saying he thinks marriage should be “between a man and a woman”?”
We all have our own opinions and beliefs over here in the Democratic Party. Most do not agree with the president on my end and my perceptions but he is still one of our number and we respect his view. Liberals don’t demand oaths of loyalty or one-sided thinking of each other.
I would love to discuss our differences on the issue just as I am (usually) just seeking the same from those opposed to something I promote (legal gay-marriage.) There is no need to demean people and every time I’ve done it I was wrong.
We really can agree to disagree but it takes some mutual respect. Lately, conservatives are hard to take seriously. Just my opinion.

EricG, I don’t think anyone defended Prejean until the left tried to trash her like they did Samuel Wurzelbacher and Sarah Palin.
EricG Reply:

No, I did. I wrote a blog defending her and also disagreeing with her position on gay-marriage.
Your right about one thing but wrong about another.
The media definitely came after Sam but I don’t see it with Prejean or Palin. Pundits saying stupid stuff doesn’t count as ‘coming after’ someone. If it did then FOX News was coming after Obama for months before he got elected and all these radio neo-cons are coming after me and my friends.
The media agencies that broke the law in terms of Samuel’s case are reprehensible but trying to turn everything into left v. right divides is not the way to find the truth.
Palin was slammed and slandered and not many know good facts on her … all the media’s fault. But let’s remember she used the media to get her message out and received plenty of airtime.
Quit blaming the media for everything. There is no left or right wing media. Just a country that hates getting along with one another.

Just like there is no conservative or liberal, just wrong people (all cons) and right people (all libs), right Eric?
EricG Reply:

No, that’s not correct at all. Many libs are way off base just like many cons. Not a perfect world.
I like certain conservative hosts and voices. I am saying that the media is consumer driven and they don’t dictate the left versus right divide to us, we dictate it to them.
The ‘liberal’ media is just selling news to people like me and the ‘conservative’ media is vice versa.
Not everything is an attack.

The left feels the media is biased towards big corporations, which is why you here very little about the WTO and the IMF, drug companies who don’t have to test new ,more expensive, against older cheaper drug, etc.
It’s also why Sumner Redstone said he had to go with Kerry because Republicans are “better for my industry” and ~ Richard Bonn, former RNC chair said,
“There is some strategy to bashing the liberal media…if you watch any great coach, what they do is try to ‘work the refs’. Maybe the ref will cut you some slack the next time”.
~ Bruce Bartlett said in NRO: “the idea that the media tilts towards liberals is absurd.”

The truth is in the middle, I think, Lefty.
It’s biased all around and every which way it can be. But it’s still the news. I’m not as fatalistic as some who talk about corporate media corruption.

I don’t believe that anything happens at these pageants that is not pre-scripted in exacting detail.
Why hire Hilton as a judge? To ignite a controversy just like he did and provide the pageant with weeks and weeks of publicity. Did they hand Prejean a speech like the one that came out of her mouth? I wouldn’t be surprised if the pageant organizers gave that speech to everyone, and whoever Hilton chose to receive the question got to deliver the speech.
Beauty pageants are the automakers of entertainment. They’re lucky if they get any media attention at all. In another few years they’ll be on public access cable. It’s the end of an era and they know it.

Funny thing, there is the kid from the Christian college in Pa who made gay porn to help pay tuition.
He broke the rules, got kicked out,(as is their right), but there are no gay or pro gay activists making a big deal about it.

The Donald is all about publicity and hoopla. The latest photos found on the net leave little doubt that this girl was posing in total violation of her contract. She is a whiner and a liar. Her credibility as a representative of California carries no weight.
The Donald may play in his own empire as he wishes. However, to continue to build up the issue in the press doesn’t help.

Donald is all about publicity and hoopla its called ratings. The photos that she was posing for were no worse than her in the bikini on stage during the pageant. The problem you have with her is she has differing view than you on gay marriage and I for one and alot of others applaud her stance.
Donald is going to milk all the media attention out of this he can.
